In the era of post-truth, losing the popular vote by 2% is basically the same as winning the popular vote by 18%.

Any win by a Republican is always presented as being a divine mandate, any win by a Democrat is always presented as illegitimate regardless of margin, and that's been the case for decades. That's why people are fooling themselves if they think the GOP will show any restraint.

I'm a bit confused at the hate the green party followers seem to have for Dems. I keep seeing overly stupid memes but when I read them it sounds like they are describing far right republicans. Anyone maybe abble to explain that to me? I'd ask the people posting them but I don't really feel like devoting too much time to it. I just found it weird. Like aren't Green more closely aligned to dems?

True that Reagan, like oilman Bush, got some experience in politics at a state level before moving to White House. I don't know of anyone in recent times (1900s to now) who became president without any governmental or military experience.

That Carrier number has fallen to thirty jobs since they're closing another plant in Huntingdon, Indiana instead (of the 1100 number, about 350 jobs were never in danger of being lost since they're in research and marketing); they say that they have to offset the losses of keeping that plant opening by shutting down another one. Plus they're apparently going to raise prices on their products next year by about five or ten percent anyway.

Trump's the sort of person who essentially supports the Putin vision of might-makes-right spheres of influence, where authoritarian and psuedo-authoritarian leaders divide up the world and then go to each-others barbecues like mafia dons. Even if Trump doesn't fully grasp this is what he supports. He definitely has that caveman mindset that scoffs at NATO protecting weak countries, and shrugs at annexing parts of the Ukraine.
