  • RE: Greg: Teacher of SUPER " OP " course !

Justaguy, dropping the quotes doesn't do/add much since literally any movie can take place in the story...if Oda changes his mind on a whim.

There's an interview with a member of the staff who stated that it is canon.

Not saying I agree, just that plopping down the quotes without context and understanding doesn't help.

And, yes, there are indeed problematic aspects of the film so it's not really that cut and dry.

Not to mention, the supposed cameo isn't confirmed (or at least not as far as I've heard).

It's worth discussing and worth bringing up the points, but like most FILMs, it exists in the same interstitial non-canon state as the others while leaving its foot awkwardly and stubbornly in the door at all times.

For now, I believe past events occured. Present events....

    Either they:

    1. Occured as in the movie (problematic)
    2. Occured but not exactly as in the movie.
    3. Did not occur but past events did.

    Thanks Thanos.clap clap MULTIVERSE

Latest bonus theater item allows fans to watch a creditless version of the end roll. This has cleared up the newspaper making it easier to read and the fate of a character is supposedly revealed.

If Oda intends the movie events to be canon (which is absurd despite that interview) then I still say he can do whatever he wants but...his handling of fates as of late does make me wonder and that's a good thing.

    It's kinda scary isn't it?
Kinda same deal with Toei. Once they get that contract, they can (largely but perhaps not entirely) determine how your property is utilized within a given medium.

Guess that's why rights are $$$$$$$$.

@JustaGuy it's not power and money of the developer/publisher. It's what contracts can be forged due to existing ones. Evidently BN has (generally speaking) rights to developing for the series which is specifically why they aren't (normally) branching out.

The decision would probably lie more with BN in what they'd allow given their agreements. But even that view is probably simplifying the relationship.

They do! I alluded to that in a JP tweet. I uh, hmm...

So, the choice is intentional. At the bare minimum, he's alluding to similar region and that could mean someone that is familiar with his origin story.

I hope we don't go the family route bc not everyone needs to be related but if there's meaningful drama, well, bring it on.

Although I will always be the first to stamp out what I think is reading way too much into something, this was a deliberate choice that he knew his audience would easily pick up on so I do not think it's without some kind of meaning/intention.

Also... I bugged the team about a FF14 crossover since they're doing GB. Sounds like GB was a massive exception allowed by RED's promotion and anything outside BaNam would be very hard to bring to light. Super duper bummer.

Depends if the story demands it. If there's drama that can be derived from placing it in another body, yes. But since Kuma's body is his own body, unless there's drama that calls for it, I don't know whether it's necessary or not.

Either way, we know that somehow, Kuma's memories/personality are safe.

Whether they're locked safely away in his body, or in another, we know that VP can isolate such things so it doesn't really matter how he uses them.

    Vegapunk reveal is pretty groovy.

I don't believe it for a second but it's still a great way to do it.

More'n that I'm smitten with Hibari.
