Yeah call me a sensitive westerner if you must but it hits different when you hear a crowd shouting in unison the kurozumi were meant to burn. Like if Tama was one and said hah flame can't hurt me i'm a kurozumi we were born to burn, that works as an odd boast. But when used as a cheerful community chant against them it gets a little weird, pun or no pun. One is arguably an endearing quirk, the other feels like more of what got them into this mess in the first place. But honestly this wouldn't have hit as bad if Oda hadn't written Fishman island as wonderfully reflective as he did. He raised the bar too high and now he's smacking his head right into the bar with full force.

Personally i felt that the vinsmoke melodrama added nothing of value to who he is or what made him tick, all it did was taint the good groundwork he had laid in the east blue arcs.

RE: Chapter 1124: Close Friend
The admirals having actual conversations is very nice and humanizing. But Vegapunk and him being so close feels a little out of the blue. I would've prefered it if he was talking about axe guy, since their relationship had some IRL years on it.

RE: Greg: Teacher of SUPER " OP " course !
Just generally speaking, if someone is a workaholic to self destructive levels, i would argue that the employer should have a moral obligation to step in and ensure a sane(r) work schedule. Help those who cannot help themselves and all that stuff. But that's the unremarkable scandi in me talking, who'd rather not die on the way to greatness.

Why exactly care about whether or not that jerk face Kuro is back other than to say Oda brought back every main East Blue villain? lol

An offboard crewmember is just a friend, don't go sugarcoating Odas lack of follow through

Buggy rubbing his raw, real pirateness in the face of those two play pirates sulking behind the curtain never gets old to me.

Three thoughts.
Pearl, Gin and Kreig would make excellent minions if anyone is hiring.
What happend 200 years ago to make the robot move?
And what even is Smoker now? He used to feel like he was somebody, but now he feels like an afterthought. Even the duck bill hat guy feels more involved than him.
