On a personal note, my family is freaking out quite a bit over the economic turn this is taking.
My Dad own a brewery on Long Island. And was one of the first that started a boom of microbreweries here over the last decade.
This being days away from St Patricks day has been stressing him and my Mom like crazy. And reasonably. He's stuck between the rock and the hard spot. He's reasonable and understands that he can't have his place crowded among a pandemic, even if only for the backlash he'd get -god forbid- it turned out someone there had Corona. But the sheer loss that might come of this could honestly put him out of business.
In addition, even outside of direct sales, his distributor to bars, retailers, and beverage centers is Claire Rose. They also happen to be the sole distributed of anheuser busch in the area. As in every Budwiser beer. One of their drivers had been in contact with someone who contracted Corona, resulting in a big disruption of their deliveries last week.
My mom is a manager for a company that does billing and collection for the most common health insurance companies in the area. A huge part of that comes from the billing and collections dealt with elective surgeries, which are obviously being postponed or cancelled in light of this. So while not instant, she's expecting to see a hit in their revenue in the coming months and directly effect her commissions.
And then you have myself, who works for political campaigns as both a consultant and door-to-door canvaser. And the campaign I work with announced we'll stop doing all events(as in i won't be paid) for an undetermined amount of time.
So as Jesus the Lord himself said in Gospel 69;420 "shit is wack, yo"
