These snails are fully animatronic! I definitely trust this team to do Chopper justice. Here's hoping season 1 is a success and we can get a season 2!

RE: Chapter 1094: Five Elders, Godhead of Science & Defense, St. Jaygarcia Saturn
On the other hand, the actual impact frame looked really good to me. It's a bit of a stretch, but the Star Gun attack sequence reminds me of Katakuri's Zan Giri Mochi.

RE: One Piece Live-Adaptation Drama Announced
I feel almost privileged to be a dub-and sub-lover. Mayumi Tanaka is a perfect Luffy in my opinion, but I can enjoy Colleen's interpretation and other ones as well. (It doesn't hurt that there are some voices I think are slightly better in the dub) I'm pretty excited to really get a chance to see Inaki's interpretation in full.

For what it's worth, almost everyone in Reddit's OP community is decimating the trailer right now. They are not happy with it.
...admittedly those guys suck but it's fascinating to see such a huge volume dismissal.
That is not the impression I get from going on r/onepiece. All positive posts are upvoted and you have to sort by controversial to get the negative ones. They are there, but they aren't getting upvoted to the same degree and many have negative karma. The top 8 posts are positive about the live action and there isn't a negative one until the 9th.

RE: Chapter 1129: Livedolls
I just gotta say that I'm pretty relieved that today's reveal didn't include an extended hiatus for the manga.

I love the Den Den Mushi. They're accurate, they look realistic, and they're the precise initially-offputtingly weird that OP has been since day one. I can't imagine them being any better.

RE: Episode 3 (Tell No Tales) - Discussion
I'm in the middle of this episode and I just want to point out that the music is fantastic. I love that Zoro got lost in Kaya's house.

RE: Greg: Teacher of SUPER " OP " course !
@ea77 In my mind this scene is solidifying Sanji's inability to hit women as a good trait because it comes from a good source and opening up the way for him to ask for his help (an even better trait) in WCI, which Captain M talked about. I know Sanji has a lot of haters, but I truly do feel that he is the character Oda is best at developing.

reduces the tragedy of the flashback
This is fine. It reduces the tragedy of the flashback in the present, after Robin has already been through it for the last 20 years and has recovered through finding friends. This is an awesome example of catharsis that I don't think diminishes what Robin went through and how it affected her.
It's not about it making sense or being expected, I think it's effective and deserved after Robin embraced the demon inside for her friends at Wano.

I don't even know what the point of this post is and the circles I'm going but if this fails even if people genuinely can see the good in it, it is because the series has become way too big and the internet culture today of being cynical and bandwagoning, without even caring to form your own thoughts, will be insufferable to experience if and when it does come.
This, I 100% agree with. It's so obvious too because a lot of the critiques use the exact same words and wording. It is what it is. Everyone's critique is valid to them, but I do think negativity is IN right now and a lot of people just struggle to enjoy things or give them a chance, which I don't think is healthy. On the other hand, there are a lot of projects that have been mishandled.
This though? Whether it's A+ material or not, I think it's being handled with love and respect for the source material.

@pariston_hill How has Jojolands been? I read the first three chapters and have been letting it simmer a bit before picking it back up.

Awesome! Some black clover will make the OP break a little more bearable.

RE: American Politics: A Brand New Day
@Robby I don't really agree with that. Trans folks were brought up more by the right as a Boogeyman than the left as a fulcrum of the campaign. An 8 year hate campaign is just now bearing political fruit.
I do think Kamala missed whiffed on messaging, but not that she over emphasized the "wrong minorities".

RE: American Politics: A Brand New Day
Misogyny has had a turnup in corners of the black community recently. Podcasts like fresh and fit have a similar reach among the youth as joe Rogan does in other communities. I have family who voted for Trump and it all either came down to not believing a woman could lead, or vague monetary hopes.
As alluded to, though, like always. More black people voted for Trump than last time, but we are the block, especially BLACK WOMEN, that held it down, because we are the block, especially BLACK WOMEN, that understand the repercussions of all this and have been here before. I called my momma after the election and she was distraught. This is pretty important to me.

RE: American Politics: A Brand New Day
The more I think about this the more I realize politics is a silly game. We have more ways than ever to reach people and instead of making it easier, it's made it more difficult. People have never been more disconnected from major news and prone to disinformation. Kamala is a neocon and the democratic party is conservative, but the policy was very easily on her side this time for just about everyone, but simple is what sells to a vast part of the electorate. Inflation was everywhere and was handled here better than everywhere else, but that's such a hard message. I'm frankly not convinced that the leftist policies I like would have been enough, but I do know the messaging didn't do its job.

RE: World Politics: People, what a bunch of bastards
I need to speak to the sentiment that Trump won because democrats insult republicans by saying Trump is a fascist. It's a stupid argument and voting for a fascist is an indictment of their character. That's it. I needed to get that off of my chest.

experience is that people that would be otherwise decent have given in to hatred and done so pretty easily. Other slurs in my plant were too dirty to say here and the guys in general were anti POC and LGBTQ.
The unspoken truth about many working class people is that they are individualistic to the point of being selfish and want things to be simple. They don't want to believe that they have moral failures because they go to church and hate the right people.Settlers by J. Sakai, go download the pdf or the physical book it will do great wonders to explain such phenomena.
I'm currently working at my library and was hoping I could pick up the physical copy but we don't have it. I will download it, though. Thank you.
