These snails are fully animatronic! I definitely trust this team to do Chopper justice. Here's hoping season 1 is a success and we can get a season 2!

RE: Chapter 1094: Five Elders, Godhead of Science & Defense, St. Jaygarcia Saturn
On the other hand, the actual impact frame looked really good to me. It's a bit of a stretch, but the Star Gun attack sequence reminds me of Katakuri's Zan Giri Mochi.

RE: One Piece Live-Adaptation Drama Announced
I feel almost privileged to be a dub-and sub-lover. Mayumi Tanaka is a perfect Luffy in my opinion, but I can enjoy Colleen's interpretation and other ones as well. (It doesn't hurt that there are some voices I think are slightly better in the dub) I'm pretty excited to really get a chance to see Inaki's interpretation in full.

For what it's worth, almost everyone in Reddit's OP community is decimating the trailer right now. They are not happy with it.
...admittedly those guys suck but it's fascinating to see such a huge volume dismissal.
That is not the impression I get from going on r/onepiece. All positive posts are upvoted and you have to sort by controversial to get the negative ones. They are there, but they aren't getting upvoted to the same degree and many have negative karma. The top 8 posts are positive about the live action and there isn't a negative one until the 9th.

RE: One Piece Live-Adaptation Drama Announced
I love the Den Den Mushi. They're accurate, they look realistic, and they're the precise initially-offputtingly weird that OP has been since day one. I can't imagine them being any better.

RE: Episode 3 (Tell No Tales) - Discussion
I'm in the middle of this episode and I just want to point out that the music is fantastic. I love that Zoro got lost in Kaya's house.

RE: My Hero Academia II - A true Hero
Only 7 pages. Weekly manga may be a thing of the past. Gotta protect the artists.

reduces the tragedy of the flashback
This is fine. It reduces the tragedy of the flashback in the present, after Robin has already been through it for the last 20 years and has recovered through finding friends. This is an awesome example of catharsis that I don't think diminishes what Robin went through and how it affected her.
It's not about it making sense or being expected, I think it's effective and deserved after Robin embraced the demon inside for her friends at Wano.

RE: Greg: Teacher of SUPER " OP " course !
@ea77 In my mind this scene is solidifying Sanji's inability to hit women as a good trait because it comes from a good source and opening up the way for him to ask for his help (an even better trait) in WCI, which Captain M talked about. I know Sanji has a lot of haters, but I truly do feel that he is the character Oda is best at developing.

I don't even know what the point of this post is and the circles I'm going but if this fails even if people genuinely can see the good in it, it is because the series has become way too big and the internet culture today of being cynical and bandwagoning, without even caring to form your own thoughts, will be insufferable to experience if and when it does come.
This, I 100% agree with. It's so obvious too because a lot of the critiques use the exact same words and wording. It is what it is. Everyone's critique is valid to them, but I do think negativity is IN right now and a lot of people just struggle to enjoy things or give them a chance, which I don't think is healthy. On the other hand, there are a lot of projects that have been mishandled.
This though? Whether it's A+ material or not, I think it's being handled with love and respect for the source material.

Maybe someone can help me. I feel like I remember a panel of a monster or some shadowed figure attacking a country with a framing that's similar to the panel of the giant robot attacking Marijoas. Does this panel exist or am I making this up?
That's definitely it! Thanks!

I backed it as well. I'm getting the leatherbound and the secret project. The Secret Project looks to be precisely what I hoped it would be.

Maybe Apoo talking about the Numbers on chapter 991
Appreciate it, but I don't think that's it.

Doing a "Sanderson" needs to be defined in the Dictionary.
Wish I had watched this earlier so I could have pledged earlier, but my new job does not allow for phone time very often.

RE: DUNE (beware book spoilers)
My dad was really into Dune and got to watch part one before he passed. I don't like the cast, but I'll probably suck it up and watch the two when part 2 drops on streaming just for his memory's sake.

RE: Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra
I'm going to watch, but I don't care all that much. Looks fine, but nothing I've seen, heard, or read has convinced me that it does anything to set itself apart from the OG. It doesn't have to do that to be a worthwhile venture, but it will need to in order to really catch my attention.

RE: What are you excited to see in One Piece that isn't fighting/powerscaling?
- What the One Piece is. I really hope it's a reveal that shocks and awes the readers as much as it does the war.
- Oda has repeatedly talked about how the final war will be shocking in some way. I'm hoping that the format of it is something we've never seen in manga.
- The location of Laugh Tale and what Lodestar is like.
- Elbaf in all its glory.
- The truth of Shanks' involvement with the Celestial Dragons.
- The history of the world and the Void Century.
- Uranus
- What role Big Mom and Kaido play when they come back into the story.

RE: Academy Awards
I haven't seen any of those, but I'm probably going to watch The Holdovers pretty soon. I've heard great things about it.

Not gonna lie, though. I had to look up all the actors other than Pascal. Recognized Vanessa, but the other two . . . I know nothing.
They both have had pretty huge roles in the last couple of years. Joseph Quinn was Eddie in the latest season of Stranger Things and Eddie was by far the breakout character in the season, if not the first real breakout character since Max in season 2.
Ebon Moss-Bachrach played a memorable side character in Andor (Arvel) and is currently playing one of the main characters in one of the most popular and critically acclaimed shows on tv, The Bear (Richie). He is honestly a veteran and has probably been in something you've seen on tv or in theatres. I am not familiar with Vanessa Kirby.
Edit: Ebon won an emmy for his role in The Bear. As someone who has watched the show I think it was well deserved.
