It's a chapter which i would have truly enjoyed if not for the Nika antics. The eye poping are an eyesore. Bonney making it twice on the same page was horrible. Luffy laughing at the beginning of the chapter was cringe and now we have Nika making people dance uncontrolably...

I liked the sky rocketting attack even if (like captain said), it took a bit too much panel when chapters are so shorts. Also we know the elders can teleport so will it be really useful ?

Atlas put a death flag on her. I had tye impression that Lilith would be the only surviving one since it was said she never left the island but now I'm not even sure.

The robot poping out of the water was cool. Tyat gives hope to a successful escape. Now we just have to know what happens on the Sunny side.

(For Warcury jumping on water, don't you think he knows how to skywalk ?)

Bonney doesn't resemble the young Big Mum at all and she doesn't have her inhuman strength. It is funny how people criticizes that we will have clones everywhere but still likes to invent them anyway :-)

given the reactions we had, it is better for the volumes readers that 1057 and 1059 are in the same one

it was a very good chapter. I'm not among those annoyed by the fact the dream is not revealed. It is probably a surprise Oda wants to keep till the end but he also wanted to tell his young readers that Luffy has another dream and that is why he wants to be pirate king.
Also the introduction via the promises he made with Sabo and Ace was nice and the double spread of the surprised crew is great.

About Zoro and Vivi, I don't really mind either. He is correct about the fact they have no clue where she is. He had Ace vivre card but they have no such things for Vivi. It is better to let Luffy's legendary luck do the job. It just provide us one surprise at the end of the chapter :-)

Because Bonney arrival sure is lucky. How did she ended in that place and miraculously survived ? We know she is a key character so i don't mind the Deus ex Machina arrival. Are we entering a Vegapunk arc ? Finally !

Im demonstration is impressive. I like the hypothesis of it being Uranus. The reaction of the gorosei is weird as we don't know why they destroyed the island. The logic would be it is because Sabo knows but why would they say that ?
(Also the king seems to be a reference to Vlad the Impaler with the vampire teeth)

I would put Saturn in worst character of the year but i'm not sure it is really the intention behind this nomination :-)

You cannot ask a fictional serie to be representative of real world. Of course it is very convenient that Vegapunk and Dragon happened to know Clover. But if Oda wants that we learn more of Dragon and the revolutionnary plotline or Vegapunk, those are helpful facilities that do not hurt that much the serie.
On the countrary I find it good that we are not presented another random people A for such things and that he reuses characters that we know.

i don't think the aim here is adventuring. Everything is centered around Vegapunk and his revelation. The guy deserve that much after having been a shadow for so long.
The CP0 arriving so soon is quite surprising given we have still much to know about him.

I understand that the two shadows were Ceasar and Judge. Otherwise this bubble makes little sense.

Why do we need evidence to back these theories up. The AI getting rogue is the most classic of trope and Oda has not always foreshadowed his surprises. Did we have evidence that Lucci and co were the members of the CP9 back then ?

I must confess that Deicide's theory that this chapter presents a fake Elbaf is extremely convincing.
The fact that it is an hallucination is not very convincing when there is a joke about it with Usopp. But I agree that Nami's clima-tact form change is weird.

As for the chapter itself, even if it is nice to have some crew interaction, Oda is using the same old pot as usual. Apparently he even cloned a panel from Arabasta. Does he lack that much of new ideas for the crew ?

Barto and his crew are not dead. We know that the alliance is at origin of a great incident and maybe what happens this chapter starts it.
Oda seems to want make Shank's crew a bit more dark. That is an interesting decision, I wonder what will comes of it even though the evil Shanks theory I can read sounds a bit too much.

Blackbeard scene help to recap a lot of information in addition to being fun:

• Moria has escaped and Garp is alived
• he kidnapped Pudding which will probably help him decipher the poneglyphs
• they will know the weapons locations thanks to Caribou
• the revolutionaries are setting a siege against Marijoa and he plans to profit from it. Maybe Catarina being able to transform into (dead) Saturn will help too

The crew has splitted and Nami seems to be a doll in a Lego building. The new arc doesn't waste time ! I wonder why the crew has no Vivre card of Luffy. That would be useful for such situation

When Egghead started and Vegapunk appeared, we thought we would learn about the Devil Fruits but in the end we learned more about the Elders and Imu :-)
Still they keep a lot of mysteries and if Saturn death is spectacular, it teases Imu's powers quite well. And it seems their immortality was not thanks to Law fruit's powers but by something else.
Since Garling became an elder, at least we can assume they are real persons and not some Imu's avatars.
Those poor Vice-admirals must be completely lost now and I would not like to be in their place.

Stussy's fate is also intriguing. Obviously she is not dead but why would Lucci keep her alive ?

Oda barely focus on the Strawhats anymore beside Luffy and Zoro. I'm surprised you need recuperation.

I'm not sure it works in the case of Rayleigh since he made a surprise attack. Nobody should be hostile when he did the haki blast

The elders where about to attack both the Sunny and the Giant's ship before the haki blast so I don't think the distance has an impact

Sometimes I'm really puzzled on Oda's decisions to rush his story. He skips part I would have been interested in and here he spends all a chapter on a flashback that I would not care at all if it never existed.

One point of interest is Joyboy's haki at the beginning of the chapter. Countrary to previous chapter, Doll is shown uncouncious whereas none of the good guys is affected. Is it because they feel no hostility ? Is that how Raileigh choose who to knock out in the slave auction. It is not by targeting someone but by making the haki "hostile on demand" ? I'm not sure to understand how that works :-)

The olympic games have ended. Those were 2 beautiful weeks to live in Paris. I'm happy all those who have predicted they would suck have been proved wrong.
Now it's back to reality. France is such a weird country :-)
