I was expecting more from The Zone of Interest. I guess it could be summarized as a fiction movie made by Frederik Wiseman. Which is cool.
My favorite film is Killers of the Flower Moon.
Oppenheimer and Poor Things are close behind. But I enjoy more "cynical stories" over "great directing". But obviously, cynical stories deserve great directing too otherwise they would be tame. Nolan's film is a bit cynical too, but it's expected from Nolan, while I was more surprised by Scorsese. Same for Poor Things, kinda cynical, but I didn't fully grasp the point I guess even though it was gorgeous to watch. It obviously has the best Production Design over the nominees.
Great movies have been selected this year. And as for every year, I couldn't care less about which one wins.
