Yeah that's the panel. Luffy end up with his face hitting the ground and Cavendish seems about to fall. From the previous panel to this one I can't what's suppose to have happen.
I interpreted it as Cavendish trying to get Luffy to let go of the sword by turning to sword and smashing Luffy into the ground but he probably lost his balance due to Luffy not letting go of the sword and sort of pulling it with him.

He's not some super plan OCD person, he's the guy whose reaction to literally every twist during the Whitebeard battle was to laugh and get excited about the new chaos.
He's that kind of villain.
I used to think that but I'm not so sure anymore… I think more than anything else he's selfish to the extreme, sadistic and of course he doesn't 'mind' chaos but I think he cares a great deal about keeping his interests in tact. This guy seems to have one of if not the best business and political minds we've seen in One Piece so far... He's King of Dressrosa, has a pirate crew, he's also a Warlord so he has connections to the navy, while he's also doing huge business deals with Kaidou, and has another name that is literally known as a very smart, notorious and cutthroat businessman. Maybe back in Marineford he seemed like that kind of villain but right now he actually seems to be the type that always has some nefarious plot going on. And he's capable of being scared shitless, like at the thought of pissing of Kaidou. Of course only truly crazy people like Luffy or monster-tier people wouldn't be scared of Kaidou.
Though when push comes to shove, if the collissuem collapsed in front of him, I doubt he'd be shaken by that. Luffy isn't exactly intimidating the big shots until he actually fights them.
I'm not saying your wrong though, his character and personality just seem to be all over the place at this point so he's unpredictable.

Excellent chapter for me, i wasn´t that surprised about Barto being a fan because i saw that coming, but it was awesome, before i liked him and now i love him, he is just great. There should be a manga about his adventures someday!
I´d bet money on Kyross being the one legged toy soldier, it makes sense in a lot of aspects, he was forgotted, he only had one wound (could be his leg), he is strong. I think Ricky is related to Kyross too, maybe a friend or something, but i think he was too weak to be the real one, even if he was old, other ancient people were show to mantain a good piece of their past power (Whitebeard, Garp, Chinjao, etc).

So will the next round be the actual finals of the colosseum? I'm guessing it will be a fight with all the block winners and the DD family fighting all at once and the winner wins it all? I really hope this tournament goes all the way to the end and luffy wins it all. I know people keep saying that it's to early for Burgess to lose but I think it would be good for the story if he did. He will only get stronger and have a DF ability by the time the SH's and BB pirates have their fated battle. He won't be fighting any one that's in the monster trio in the battle. He would be an opponent for some one like Franky or maybe jinbe.

I'm thinking something might happen where he whoops whatever sorry Doflamingo goon has to fight him and then departs when things with the SHs/dwarves vs. DD Family get heated (that doesn't involve him at all - why would he stick around?), possibly snatching the Mera Mera Fruit somehow? I dunno. Either that or he's gonna give Luffy a _hell_ of a fight.

well just cause he's called a champion doesn't mean he needs to win every time, it be stupid he'll win every battle hes in cause of the name he's given. but who knows what ODA is planning…I doubt anything will go accordingly to plan when block D is done.
so the 4 block winners + 4 DD family members will go into a battle royale style again? where the 4 DD members will work together to eliminate the others...I can see Bartolomeo sacrificing himself for Luffy, it be pretty cool to see. Maybe that will get him in Luffys good side.

Up until now, we really couldn't define him as much of a "bad guy" except through his association with BB, as well as offscreen villainy in the form of wrecking Drum Island.
What does this reintroduction do? It gives us a perfect chance to see Burgess as a Grade-A Douche all by himself. Whether that means some dog-kicking, killing of innocent civilians, or stealing Ace's devil fruit, Oda can make his character less one-dimensional, while the audience can have a reason to dislike him specifically.
I believe that Oda will do this with each BB pirate member over the next several arcs, until we're eventually loving to hate the whole lot of 'em.

Well yeah, but it also effects the whole crew to see the actions of their members. Oda's reintroducing the presence of the Blackbeards.

It's pretty easy. You simply found the scene instead of humorous to be uncomfortable for you…...though Barto doesn't get turned into yaoi for the most part. LuffyxZoro, ZoroxSanji does.

Aside from the title, he's a supporter of the series' main antagonist, and to have a top dog(ie: Drum, Jaya, Marineford) taken down long before facing BB himself just doesn't seem right. I'm not saying he and Luffy won't go head to head, but I doubt he'll be taken down in this arc. I don't know how, but I've got a feeling in my gut that Burgess is going to run off with the fruit one way or another.
Well the way i see it luffy defeating burgess will piss off black beard and defeating doffy will piss off the world government and blowing the factory will piss off kido and he already declared way against big mom and he will confront shanks eventually so now he got all the yonkos attention after this arc luffy will piss off the whole new world and hes gaining alliance along the way

He's got blinked eyes to Luffy (and not hearts-eyes) more like kids when they saw Franky's shogun, impressed by that "sign of god", and following the crew since 2 years and a half. The part of the chapter when he was ill-at-ease with red face doesn't surprise me that much, i was prepared for that personnaly, taking into account every different face he shown since he was introduced.
And since the start, he isn't showed as a bad guys, more like a child/trollish one (but having good sense, he isn't a fool) complete opposite to the bishonen, with good manners, classy fighting swordsman, liked by every girls and other people too, the hater Cavendish.
Between the two, the most detestable in term of personnality is Cabbage, behind all of that he's narcissic and carying that much of what people think, popularity and stuff…
He's acting like a real diva. But the character himself is funny trough, i like him too.

He see Luffy like the messiah since 2 and a half year, and he finally encounter him for real.
The loguetown was a divine shock for him, that's all. He was touched by "holy spirit" that time.
He's more than a stupid fan (well he isn't aware of Dragon helping luffy at Loguetown, but none of them was neither), with his face and expressions that scene was very funny.
If it was Crocodile or DD, well, it will be very embarassing, but not him.

Hey guys, long time lurker don't post much…. but wow.
After a chap that was personally long-awaited (actual prime Garp fighting in the Golden Era XD),this week I was expecting a slower chapter. A few general updates on everyone, a teaser on Jesus and maybe a setup for the last tourney block fights. What I received was a BB update (with juicy Kuzan hype), some more epic DC and that pretty fool Cavendish trying to make headway (and essentially failing to show, once again, that we still can't really tell where Luffy is, strength-wise).
Oh and Barto, just wow. Thanks to forum predictions here I had an inkling this would happen, but it actually took me 5 rereads (and 3 tissues) to get through the first few pages, I was tearing up with laughter. It's amazing how he seems like a parallel-universe Duval, but more successful with an already giant mafioso running before he became a rookie. Well, more hype to his character, but following the Law/Manyard/DC pattern, from a fight perspective he's now officially heading for an asskicking. Who delivers it, and how his DF will influence that situation in regards to the flow of events is what's gonna be fun to see.
I sincerely hope that DC's 'bowing and accidently splitting everything in half' habit becomes a running gag. Otherwise the dismembered gladiator story follows the usual Doffy pattern so far, at least with regards to his business dealings. 'Satellite' crews in paradise with the promise of protection in the 'New Era', human shop affiliations, now enslaved gladiators fighting with false hope, to sate his manipulated crowds. Add the toy story and the Tenryuubito to the mix and it becomes apparent that Doffy's defeat will be the SH's (hopeful) public reintro to the world, maybe with crew poster and bounty updates(been wondering if this was CP0's main purpose on DR, considering their specialty is intel instead of assassination/combat, if thatv was the Aegis reference).
And finally, I found it interesting that Oda chose to have to two main contestants for winning D-block attack Luffy this chap, and purposefully leaving it so grey as to who gave him the most trouble. He stopped raging Cabbage easily while tired, hungry and confused, then he subdued 'no killing intent' Namibecca easily while being restrained, on about half a bento and some samples. I guess it's anyone's game right now, but my money's on the beautiful vegetable (if the tourney goes that long), just in the hopes that she shines later in the events regarding Lightning(?) the toy soldier.
But yeah, best chapter this year, and once again reminded me why I'm an OP addict :)

This chapter was really great, imho.
The way all the different storylines, like DC being so greatful, Barto revealing himself as a freaky fanboy and Cabbage still hating Luffy for his own stupid reasons, are resulting in chaos, almost reminded me of the way Shakespeare put his dramas together. I had to laugh so much while reading it. Poor Luffy had to flee. 
Maybe Luffy will get Cabbage to his side, like he did with DC.
I don`t think it is as weird for Barto to be such a nerdy fan, and acting the way he does. There were already hints in the chapter before, like there was also this one scene, where he says, "the fruit will belong to this person…". (If someone else already quoted this out, I apologise, coz I was just a bit too lazy to read all of the 49 forum pages regarding to this chapter)
After rereading the chapters of this arc it felt like Bartolomeo was trying to restrain himself, or holding back his "fanboyism", especially while talking to Cavety Cabbage. I like him being so nerdy, I think most of us understand him, being One Piece fans ourselves.
As for Rebecca, well, she seems to have a bitter past, yes, but I thought it very stupid of her, to attack Luffy. We will see, what 721 will bring, maybe I`m going to like her regardless of what she has done, depending on her backstory.

That would be pretty interesting, nice thought. Although I think, Zorro might be a lot stronger after two years of training with Mihawk. Their bounty might say otherwise, but Zorro and the Strawhats were inactive for a very long time, their appropriate bounty should be very much higher.

Now now, it's a legendary sword, not a magic one. I suppose Cavendish is more than skillfull to be able to use it.
I mean, the sword must have an unique trait/attribute that seperate Cavendish from other swordmans with regular sword.
Not really. Cavendish is implied to be a skilled fighter, but it's not Durandal that makes him so. Like Mihawk's Yoru is claimed to be the greatest blade in the world but it is NOT what makes him the world's greatest swordsman, not by a long way.
Why discuss the swords, in One Piece all of them can shoot energy waves anyway.

The people winning the blocks have won the right to challenge the Doflamingo family.
Which means that the Block Winners will almost definitely be fighting the four Dofla people mentioned at the very start of the tournament.
Dellinger, Lao G, Mach Vise, and Senor Pink.
Finally we know some more structure of the thing!I wonder how the rest will play out? Do the winners of the matches move on to fight the other winners until there's only one left?
And that one left fights Diamante?Either way this strongly suggests the tournament won't be interrupted any time soon to me. I think Oda really wants to play this out.
So we'll likely at least see those four matches. Oda isn't likely to have introduced those four guys at the start of the tournament if he didn't want to use them like this.
I'm actually surprised people were still wondering about that, I thought the setup was pretty clear from the get-go. Or is it just about having it confirmed?
I don't know about this tournament going as planned, since they'll be taking a break and the Dwarf armies is already moving. D Block might come to a conclusion, but I don't think there's still time for the "semi-final" fights and then for the Diamante fight (if that's how it'll ultimately be!). And as for your concerns, those guys will have to fight anyway if they're attacked.
And I really want Luffy to get the fruit and think he'll succeed in keeping Burgess from taking it. But at the same time, the people who say that it'd be interesting for the SHs to fight a BB crewmember with Ace's powers also have a point. And naturally, we don't really know how this will end, if the tournament progresses naturally and Luffy has to beat Burgess or if somehow Burgess sneakingly gets the fruit (though I don't see Burgess acting that way, he's more a direct type of guy :D).
Finally, I'm curious about how you see Doflamingo still staying in the game for the arcs to follow. Do you still expect him to remain on his throne, or are you just saying he'll continue being a normal pirate/broker (or even Shichi, if his ties are still strong enough…)?
