Synopsis

Luffy is ready for the New World that much is clear, Doffy does not seem to have an answer for Luffy's new durability and flexibility, still that does not mean that he could bring down an Admiral like Akainu or Aokiji. I would say Luffy is now more or less at the same level as Sabo which I am happy with, this means he can maybe hold an Admiral for a while like Sabo could but as for actually putting an Admiral down that I am not so sure of.

Luffy's new form is just soaking up Doffy's attacks like they are nothing, not so sure that would be the case against an Admirals attacks especially someone like Akainu's who really does not pull his punches at all.

the thing is, there's no strong reason for 'luffy is not ready to fight an admiral or yonkou'. it only based on how the reader felt.
the 'luffy's not ready' will be true if:
1. gear 4 is his last card after 2 yrs training, and somehow in the middle of their journey, luffy learn a new move (e.g gear 5)
2. after 2 years training, luffy still haven't got a clue how to handle akainu / how to revenge ace's death.
3. the 1st yonkou's or admiral's fight with luffy will come after 5 - 7 arcs/years.

one piece's story is simple, it have rules and pattern.

He still isn't, he has most definitely made a big leap towards it though.

Even though I am no fan of the new form there is no doubting its effectiveness as shown by Doffy's reaction.

He is smacking Doffy around but the fight isn't over yet and Luffy has not used an attack strong enough to put Doffy down which is what's needed to end the fight.

I would love for Luffy to be able to keep the strength and speed but be able to return to normal size but that may not be possible if he wants to keep his armoured elasticity.

He may indeed have something even better up his sleeve, we will have to wait two weeks to find out.

true the fight isn't over, but this chapter show us that luffy know how to beat dofla without him have to exhaust himself (vs lucci), that probably will end in 2 or 3 chapters with his strong attack.
so, after he done with dofla, what kind of opponent that require a near death fight to win? there are 4 yonkou, at least they will have to face on of them soon.
if you talking about his crew's size, then yes he's not ready to fight an admiral or yonkou, but when it comes to 1 vs 1 fight? he's ready.
there's no more time to train in this NW, i doubt there will be a 2nd FI arc. and i'm sure they will not run from the navy or any enemy in their journey because the NW sea.
"he isn't ready" only apply if the manga will run for another 20-30 years.

On the broken bones i can agree (though for most of the series, now matter how badly Usopp got beat up he didn't cry. yet my memory could be deceiving me).But, on the bold part I somewhat disagree. Usopp is shown to be unconscious at that scene, so he couldn't really cry because of the tatababasco (knowing he'll eat it). [ unless he isn't unconscious which then everything is completely logical ]

conscious or not, it's spicy. it may be hard to accept, because we all grew up with fire breath for most cartoon series spicy effect /reaction.

aaah what a dummy. Cut his leg off for no reason. This Curos guy isn't very smart. Also, I don't see what use he'll be with one leg in human form. I don't know, I just don't like this guy. Seems to let his emotions rule him. More emotions than brains.
