Kushner and Flynn have apparently been pushed aside for Bannon right now though I can easily seeing that changing if people keep up the President Bannon talk; Trump's eggshell ego won't stand for the idea that somebody else is in charge of him no matter how true it is.

Betsy DeVos's nomination for Education Secretary is close to failing thanks to 2 Republicans who have announced they'll vote against her. That makes 50 for her and 50 against. If one more Republican votes against her then she won't be confirmed on Friday. On the other hand if it remains a tie then Mike Pence will cast a tie breaking vote which will be a first for a Vice President….ever.
-
Mike Pence votes no and then pushes Trump down the stairs, declaring himself ULTRA SUPER PRESI-KING

Super Kami Pence

If Devos screws education badly enough my entire future AND support system will collapse

@Mr.:
Great, nice to know I'm more likely to get shot/blown up by a guy with a Duck Dynasty beard and a 1488 tattoo because the government isn't going to do shit about that anymore, and will actively end up radicalizing more fundamentalists into full-blown terrorists than even Bush was able to.
Come up north at least then all you have to concern yourself with is cops potentially playing the "He was going for something" card.
There has been some buzz about how they're not going through with, or at least delay, that EO after the protests this weekend. Administration did not expect a backlash like that. And this would lead to a bigger backlash because even his Pepe army doesn't mind "the gays".
At a certain point Trump's administration expecting zero backlash from anything they do is almost bordering on willful ignorance.
Remember when Republicans and Conservatives whined and moaned about Jeremiah Wright's inflammatory rhetoric on America?…..apparently they don't. But hey this may turn out to be catch-22.

@Purple:
Super Kami Pence
"So Schumer. Sucks about your family."

I'm white and from DC tbh so I actually am not as at risk of being killed as I made it sound like I was but… I'unno I'm worried about them going into left-leaning places and shooting them up or something. Probably overreacting compared to the shit that black people & Muslims are going to go through now.

You could start a politics & foreign policy analysis blog (with ads). I bet a lot of people would read that.

So apparently Goursch founded a club in high school called Fascism Forever.

T
That's an understandable fear in light of what nearly happened because of the Pizzagate bullshit. And what does unfortunately happens because of the wrong people being vilified and demonized.

I think Zeph's referring to the fact that his parents are in academia and could thus be fucked over by Devos' anti-intellectualism.

Day 13
[qimg]http://i66.tinypic.com/2liyako.jpg[/qimg]Okay, personal issue here because that's my goddamn school and it's been getting back in touch with its strong history of massive protests.
Fore those who don't know, Milo Yanniopileoshit was scheduled to speak on the campus yesterday by the Berkeley Campus Republicans. In anticipation of these protests, and because previous controversial speakers like Bill Maher have drawn massive backlash, the administration sent out a series of emails clarifying that while they do not support Milo's vulgar messages in any way, the policy of free speech and sponsored speakers means that Milo would not be barred from speaking just because he's a racist misogynistic asshole. They also encouraged anyone who strongly disagreed with him to peacefully protest. It should be clear from the start that the UC system in no way curtailed free speech.
So while the vast majority of protesters were peaceful, as usual, there is a small section of anarchists in the area that crashed the protest, as usual, and started breaking things and throwing shit, which was then as usual characterized by the sensationalist press as representative of the whole protest. It's never true. Every time protesters push back against this sect and their actions both in the moment and afterwards, when hundreds of protesters return to repair the damage that was done. These protests are largely peaceful outside of a few instigators but the police always respond with hundreds of men in riot gear using tear gas and rubber bullets. Their response is excessive to make a point.
It's a bullshit debate wrapped in a strange argument but I'm not surprised Trump doesn't know better.
-
I don't remember the press freaking out when a Milo supporter shot someone two weeks ago.
-
I think Zeph's referring to the fact that his parents are in academia and could thus be fucked over by Devos' anti-intellectualism.
Oh… damn.

That's why you need unions.
-
The union-banning executive order is probably on the docket for next week. Right after the "bring back lynching" EO, but before the "strangling turtles with soda can 6-pack plastic rings" EO.
-
That's why you need unions.
We have them.
Guess who loves weakening, dismantling, and destroying unions. The Republican party. -
But I thought the Republican party is a worker's party now…...

The destruction of the NLRB will be swift and without mercy.

Frank Sobotka going to the Greek at the end of season 2 is now depressing foreshadowing.

The only difference though is that we don't have Ephyge playing in the background and we get to see how this ends without the fade to black.

Meanwhile, maybe some good news? Breitbart is losing hundreds of advertisers. The article even has a petition to ask Amazon to stop working with them.

MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN (by giving mentally unstable people guns)

The GOP is just being consistent on that issue; they trust somebody with a severe mental disorder with the nuclear launch codes, might as well let them have guns as well.
-
Can anyone tell me how serious the Trump Administration's provocations towards Iran are? Because from the news we've been getting, it's getting really tense and Iran is probably the best country in the Middle East right now and tensions were FINALLY diffusing the last few years with the nuclear deal thing. Just how serious is this? It just seems like it's going to ruin the little bit of stability and peace that the US had built up in that region for the last 30 years or something…
-
I could be wrong, but they seem pretty fucking serious. Honestly wouldn't put much past this alt-right controlled government. When asked if he would use military action against Iran, Trump said that nothing is off the table.
It's a little frightening to say the least. Not the stupidest move for a guy who got into office using scare tactics.

She's got a few points.

Trump pledges to end political limits on Churches:
https://www.yahoo.com/news/religious-looking-trump-protections-081209487–politics.html
Declaring that religious freedom is "under threat," President Donald Trump vowed Thursday to repeal a rarely enforced IRS rule that says pastors who endorse candidates from the pulpit risk losing their tax-exempt status.
Also The Senate gave final approval to a measure eliminating a rule to prevent coal mining debris from being dumped into nearby streams

Trump seems to want to go to war with
-the state of California
-Mexico
-Canada
-Iran
-iraq
-China
-Australia
-anything predominantly MuslimAt the very least.
But not Russia. And not one of the countries he personally does business with. But even Russia he's kind of messing with.

It's already posted in the Western Animation forum but fuck it, it needs to posted here too:
South Park to back off lampooning Donald Trump Wow what hardline satirists.

The Trump administration has scrapped plans to arm Kurdish fighters in northern Syria and will instead do…something else. In Trump's defense it is his administration's right to choose and deliberate on foreign policy of that magnitude, and it's not like the Obama administration's plan was without risk. There is one obvious problem though. While Obama might have argumentatively been "too" risk adverse or cautious when it comes to not doing stupid shit in foreign countries. Is Trump's approach...better?
The policy dilemmas that Obama and his team spent more than seven months deliberating will be decided over the course of the next 30 days in a review led by Mattis and the Pentagon. Trump has directed his defense secretary to bring him multiple options and to ignore the restrictions on troop numbers and civilian casualties that were put in place by Obama.
I don't see how.

I can't wait for Parker and Stone's original and refreshing 2020 South Park episodes where a shit sandwich fights a giant douche.

I was saying to myself that I would forgive them everything of how they helped get us to this situation with their mass cheerleading for "BOTHSIDES" bullshit. If only they would apply the guns here.
But hey, I'm not surprised they failed.

Not supporting the Syrian Kurds is a uncontroversially mega retarded, since they ARE the successful weapon against ISIS in Syria.
Trump is severely fucking up the war against ISIS by following through on this.–- Update From New Post Merge ---

Oh and also helping spread skepticism of climate change.
As ballsy as they think they are, they're massive fucking cowards terrified of taking a position that isn't laughing at stuff from sidelines.

Parker and Stone have always been run-of-the-mill Republicans who make token concessions on social issues like gays so they claim to be Independents while strictly adhering to GOP party dogma on pretty much everything else.
Which is just a longer way of saying "They're Libertarians."
