No, was talking After Timeskip, when only pacifista and Sentoumaru were sent. before TS it was a special case where a world noble was sent flying, kizaru(an admiral) had to be sent even if forexample pacifista's were enough to capture them.

you can't realy use wb to compare him to the sh's. wb was a yonkou/ the strongest human, they knew enough of wb. and they also knew wb will come after you if you hurt one of his crew/friend/territory.

im not saying luffy is weak, he just not that big yet. when he becomes big enough that his name makes ppl tremble in fear than he can claim/protect something.

Well maybe it's not relevant, but looks like Rebecca doesn't give a flying duck about the country - everything she wants to protect is Toy Soldier. This alone should differentiate her from other princesses like Vivi or Shirahoshi.

Well, I would assume it is de jure just due to Doflamingo (no reason not to be I would guess). Also, no one seemed to mind the marines that showed up, and they trusted the CP0 guys, so I think so. Not 100% sure though.

EDIT: also, when Brook mentioned Wano at the start of PH, he said that the country was strong enough to resist the WG and the other pirates in the new world. I don't think Dressrosa would have been safe before DD showed up if it was independent.

if you check the FB, you would see that she didnt live as a princess. she and her mother lived in a small house and were picking flowers to sale them.

Before this chapter: Doflamingo was a prince of Dressrosa and became a Pirate. He became a Shichibukai and when his father dies he became a king/Might be a World Noble/Dressrosa might be a kingdom connected to the World Nobles

After this chapter: Doflamingo pulled a Crocodile; framing and overthrowing the Riku Kingdom, became King and possibly made connections to the World Noble and may not have been one. But the possibility is still open.

But there is a small plot hole that has yet to be answered: The one-legged soilder was already a toy when Doflamingo was invading the island, how did he become a toy?

There's no reason to believe Doflamingo was invading, so much as starting a rebellion. I take Thunder Soldier's state in the flashback to mean that Doffy's plan had been put in to action well before the start of this chapter's flashback.

I was thinking it had more to do with DD's Tennryubito connections than anything else, particularly if the Doflamingo family is actually part of their line.

Also, I don't think the WG gets involved in local politics. They could have bought DD's ruse (particularly if he has as much influence as we think he does) that he was overthrowing a corrupt and evil king and replacing him. They might have actually seen it as a positive development for the island.

Actually she's more clearly a gladiator than almost every other person in the tournament with a name.
Real gladiators were essentially slaves or war captives who fought and died their way to freedom.
Which is what Rebecca is.

But we still don't know if she was a captives or slaves. Her flashback show us she's still a free person who didn't know/really care of her connection with royalty. It's not like she fight to free her kingdom. Rebecca just want to help Mr. Toy while leaving Dressrosa is a legit option. It's not like she have a responsibility to stay.

Uh are you already forgetting the previous chapter? She's the champ of the captive gladiators. She's a captive gladiator.
Clearly at some point she was captured and made a gladiator.
The fact that it's open public knowledge that she's part of the old dynasty's bloodline makes that clearer than ever, she wouldn't be allowed to run around freely with that known to the Dofla family.
Instead of killing her outright it seems like they just went and threw her in the arena prison to fight until she dies publically.

Couple problems with this.

1. Rebecca has clearly been a gladiator for some time.
2. And the Flame fruit has only JUST been made a prize. So her plan for getting it to beat Doflamingo must be brand new.

These two things don't mix.

I also think it's a darned faulty assumption that it would be easy for Mr. Toy to rescue her. The arena is managed by a whole wing of Dofla's forces after all (the Diamond suit).

Soo many good theories out there trying to figure out what's what, what's next, and what once was. This is why I love One Piece!
A few thoughts (most are mentioned already).
1. Toy Soldier is Rebecca's father imo and most likely the gladiator Kyros. I think the timing fits way too much (with a few leaps). Kyros dissappears 20 years ago, Rebecca was probably born a few years later. Maybe King did not approve of gladiator and daughter, so Kyros quit to be with her. Not to mention the FBs stating Kyros was hit only once + toy soldier teaching Rebecca how to avoid hits. Toy soldier only shows up after the DD make their appearance and staart wiping out former Riku and affiliates.
2. Not sure if this was mentioned or not, but I am very curios about the whole forgotten ones thing. I mean does the 1 fruit user who turns people into toys have this as part of their ability (those who become toys have their whole existence wiped and re-written as if they were toys from the start?), or is there a 2nd person involved (fruit user who can impact memory, a super hypnotist who casts a you won't remember a person who has become a toy, etc..)
3. I'm all for the Ricky is former King of Riku as well (and grandfather to Rebecca). Strong enough to hold his own in gladiator arena (when it was only for gladiators), but knows he needs the fruit power of mera mera to be strong enough to try and retake his kingdom.

Sorry if its all a rehash of others, just had to post since I am enjoying this arc so much.

the fact that chapter showed that trebol and diamante were with DD ten years ago and baby 5 seemed to have joined him after, the members who were with him when he became a shichibukai might all have low bounties.( relatively) Since DD's bounty was 340, theres im guessing 250 and lower.

The newer members like ceasar might have attained a bounty before working for him.

What do you guys think DD benefits from keeping Rebecca alive? DD was eliminating important people to the old kingdom. Why would he keep Rebecca alive? It's not like he doesn't know who she is especially when the citizens are aware of her status as Princess.

If Cavendish fights, he'll end up winning. You can think all you want about Rebecca, but Cavendish has a greater narrative weight behind his strength. He's set up as Bartolomeo's opposite, and all the other "Super Rookie" characters have made it into the next round.

As for why Doflamingo is keeping her alive? I'd imagine that he doesn't have a choice. Keep in mind what Luffy said, "You don't look like a prisoner to me." Rebecca is doing the same thing Mr. Soldier did earlier when he was dodging the cops. Taking advantage of the rules of the Colosseum to protect herself from her enemies. As long as she's in the Colosseum, she can't be arrested. She lives there to order to keep safe, and is forced to fight every so often to maintain her safety.

More importantly. The Riku family ruled Dressrosa earlier. Kyros and Ricky are the ones presumed to be members of the royal family. With Mr. Soldier being "like a father" to Rebecca. Now… Oda has no problem with dads cutting ties with their kids. But I don't think that he'd write Mr. Soldier as Rebecca's dad, "giving up" on her just because she fought in the Colosseum.

Also, Rebecca as a princess means her shot at being a Strawhat is nil, so we can end that question. God, I love Oda's patterns.

How on earth would a Yonkou invading a WG country and killing its rightful ruler not provoke a reaction from the WG? That's pretty high up on the list of "Things Governments care about". They have to play the PR game to keep support, and ignoring what would be a brutal attack on one of their member countries would make them look incompetent.

And yes, while the WG would not get there in time to stop it, its the threat of retaliation that matters. Destabilizing Dressrosa (again) is GOING to produce a WG response, which is likely going to have major repercussions in the new world and elsewhere. Its not something you do just to get one DF.

We saw how much force it took too face a yonkou. I doubt the WG would attack one in his turf for such a thing as killing the ruler. Drum was destroyed by BB and the king had to flee but the government didn't do anything.

Rebecca will be relevant throughout Dressrosa if she wins or loses. All Cavendish really has is this tournament at the moment, so I think he's gonna go on to the next round.

Dofla seems already around before the coup to establish his scheme, and disabling one-legged soilder (for whoever he is) was in his "need to be done" list.

Maybe the flashback only shows what Rebecca remembers. Maybe the toy soldier is her father and lived with them, but on the fight, he became a toy and neither Rebecca nor Scarlet remembered him anymore. So this flashback would be a twisted version of what actually happened?

Rebecca is probably only still alive because Dolfa wants to make her death a public spectacle. When people watch fights, they want to see a "hero" and a "villain". Rebecca, because of her family's history, will always be the villain. When it comes to Doflamingo, everything is a little game. He knows the people of Dressrosa hates Rebecca, so why not put on a little show? Let them cheer on Diamante "the hero" and watch their evil princess get slaughtered. As far as Doflamingo sees it, Rebecca is the last living member of her family, so she's not much of a threat. It was essential 10 years ago to kill everyone involved with the Riku Royal Family because they were still in power…but now it doesn't matter. Killing Rebecca right away isn't really necessary. Having her death made "public" in a tournament against Diamante makes it so much more exhilarating. But yeah, I don't know about her winning block D.

I think the only way Cavendish will lose is if he does something stupid to get himself disqualified. Rebecca doesn't seem like a fighter at ALL...but then again, according to her little flash back, she doesn't want to "hurt anyone". I think she's just really good at defense when it comes to fighting. I believe the big reason she's still alive is because she's good at dodging attacks and allowing the opponent to fall out of the ring. That's what I'm assuming at least...would love to hear anyone else's opinion on this.
