    • RE: Top-Selling Manga 2021 in Japan

      KnY was pretty mediocre last I read. I do agree art was sub par as well. It's popularity is clearly from the anime. It's a much better product than the Manga.

      I wouldn't worry about it though. Sales of KnY from last year to this year was reduced by about 50 million volumes. If it continues dropping year after year, it'll fade away soon. Or it gets a bump again with the next season.

      OP has been steady mainly through the force of its current content. The closer we head to the ending, we should see an increase otherwise that's when I'd be worried and sad if sales dip. And depending on the success of its other forms of media, it'll surely increase even higher. It's an amazing accomplishment even if it's no longer selling the best. You can't expect to always be number one. Others can shine while still being in decent shape after all these years.

      Yeah the Manga is very healthy but it's other forms of media are lacking. The anime blowing up could make the Manga blow up as well. I'd be down for it to be seasonal if animation can stay good and pacing improved. The anime needs to help elevate the Manga like what happened with the other popular series.

      Very good numbers for a 20+ old series. Depending on how the live action goes, if it goes well, I see sales increasing otherwise sales will continue to stay steady if the other forms of media for One Piece don't attract new potential readers. OP has a ton of backlog that if the live action is successful, that's potentially millions of potential readers willing to get into the series with a ton of backlog. OP is basically competing with very popular series' anime who are buying all the backlog. OP is still a beast after all these years still standing strong.

      @Green_vs_Red:

      I'm perfectly fine with the idea of them not making another Spider-Verse anything. With the fact there's three different versions unless I've ignored any others.

      And thats a shame. PS4 Peter and Spidey-Verse Miles are miles better than MCU Spidey. I hope eventually Sony realizes the potential of Spidey's universe from Spidey-Verse and take risks like they did with Spidey-Verse.

      @Robby:

      Live action is never going to dilute the Spider-pool and have him be less unique. Comics and a crazy animated thing can get away with having multiples, but the live action is going to want to keep its focus and marketing on one guy… not to mention paying an actor top billing,until its time for that guy to leave.

      IF there is something that makes MCU Peter less unique than Miles, it's because he is less unique than Miles from Spidey-verse. Sony has already established Spidey-Verse to contain other parallel universes which makes it easier to bring other Spidey's into live-action and other mediums without the movies conflicting with each other unless Sony wants universes to do a crossover. Spidey-Verse style movies is our best shot of having multiple versions of Spidey to a much bigger audience. And because that style exists, MCU Peter can still exist as a separate entity while bringing other great and better characters into the live-action. I'd love it if they brought PS4 Peter into the mix as well since he's a much better Peter Parker than Holland's version and he exists in the Spidey-Verse! And the great thing about the Spidey-Verse is that it's able to show and explore more mature content such as killing off Peter Parker, the struggles of another Peter Parker as an adult, and killing off AUNT MAY in the game. At the very least, I would love if Sony explored other aspects of Spidey's universe(s) in the live-action where most people have their attention. It's a sad reality when the best version of Spidey in film made less money than the worse Spidey movie.

      Spiderverse already did Miles as good as he can possibly be done. They don't need to drag him into the live action verse until they're ready to kill Peter off. (And SPiderverse already did that story pretty well too.) And they cast Holland young so he could pay the part forever.

      Let Miles shine as his own lead in the animated ones, as opposed to just being the eventual replacement in the movies.

      They wouldn’t need to replace Peter. Spider-Verse literally shows us Miles can be on his own or with other Spider people like Peter Parker. I’d love to see other versions of Spidey in live-action.

      Most people pay more attention to live action. Miles would shine brighter if they brought him over while still doing the animated stuff. And technically, Miles is a replacement Spider-Man.

      Looks like Spidey will get written out in the next MCU film. The 3rd solo Spidey movie was already part of the previous deal so technically it's one extra movie. I definitely see Spidey make his exit there and make appearances in the MCU when or if Sony allows it. I really hope they add more to Holland's character or put Miles from Spidey-verse into the live action. Miles from Spidey-verse is so much better than Peter in the MCU movies. If Sony can translate Mile's style, relationships, culture, hardships, etc. into live action, I'd be so down to shelving Holland's Peter for the time being. Mile's black and red suit, his outfit with the Jordan's and jacket over his suit, his invisibility and electric abilities, his parkour, along with an awesome soundtrack would be AMAZING to see.

    • RE: New One Piece Movie "Stampede" (August 2019)

      Can't wait to see this in theaters stateside! I remember Film Gold taking half a year or so to reach the states but now it gets here in 2.5 months after release in Japan! With the news of Sony merging Funi and Aniplex, I hope distribution continues to get better so content can be readily available in a much faster time-frame. It'd be so nice to watch future movies closer to release day where the hype and excitement is at its peak.

    • RE: Chapter 923: Emperor Kaidou VS Luffy

      @Joy:

      Yeah he got clonked on the head by Luffy multiple times without a scratch. Then he freaking sighs and he one shots Luffy. Big Mom did what ? Honestly chapter 890 is one of the worst in the series. Big Mom got clowned hard.

      Oda was able to show BM's strength/potential at the cost of giving her some embarassment. From my understanding, BM is never at her best when she is rampaging. Even though the homies affected by BM have a concious, they still need to be told what to do to be useful. Napolean, Prometheus, Zeus, the candy slime, etc showed this. And when Big Mom does guide them, they can be deadly. Napolean as a huge, extendable flaming sword, Zeus for lightning strikes, Prometheus as a giant ball of flame, the candy slime creating a huge wave, etc. And those Ive listed are nothing more than fragments of Big Mom's soul. The homies having consiousness is definitely a double edge sword as Zeus and King Baum showed us. They were used against Big Mom due to the lack of guidance. Another really awesome scene of Big Mom was when she got struck by that huge lightning Nami created with Zeus which left a giant hole on the ground. Big Mom casually starts walking towards the ground and walks right through as if theres nothing there. And last I can recall, the end of the arc as Big Mom is seen heading back to Cacao Island, the thing she rode on was propelling water behind them big enough to swallow most of the ships present and the town. Big Mom certainly showed great potential. Overall, she wasn't really hurt during the whole thing like how Kaido wasnt hurt even though Luffy was pummeling him for a bit.

    • RE: Chapter 923: Emperor Kaidou VS Luffy

      @RigaCrypto:

      Com on man, Luffy always gets kicked around before the serious fight. He got ass whooped by Croco, Luci, Magellan, Caesar and many more in the first clashes before he took things seriously and commited to the fight. On the other hand Jimbe is the most serious guy ever and he fights in a standard fashion. Why are we still comparing pears to apples.

      Luffy was definitely serious here. He was pretty level headed than normal as well. Like as soon as Luffy brought Kaido to the ground, Luffy ran towards the mountain again. Finding out about Tama agitated him even more but he didnt act right away like usual. He showed anger and regret and gave an argument to Law as to why he wasnt running away and thus brought Kaidou's attention to himself rather than the others. Luffy went straight to using a move he hasnt used since he tried to destroy a ship about half the size of a small island and then went straight into Boundman to continue his assault. He looked fatigued by the time he was done with his assault and got clubbed afterwards.
