I always thought fishmen(fishmen pirates esp) were hostile/condescending towards merfolk but Hodi speaks of uniting together in the fourth page and in general they mix together so guess this was wrong.
With a poneglyph being in the area, things are definitely picking up, and it seems like this arc is still just in its infancy. I'm sure that the real antagonists of the arc haven't even been introduced yet.

Tree of Eve in Fishman Island, Tree of Adam completely opposite side of the world, at the end of the Grand Line in Raftel. Due to its nutritious properties all the fish from the around the world will be attracted to that, seeing how the tree of Eve attracts a good amount of fish????

I recall Alabasta differently, though admittedly I'm going off the Viz translation here… Robin lied to Crocodile when they first allied to eventually get herself near enough to read it: she was interested in the "history" aspect, but told Croc it was the location of the Pluton because she couldn't get to the poneglyph on her own.
When Robin explained that it contained only a historical record, Croc was understandably angry, but I think Cobra's reaction was more telling here: he was confused, wondering something like, "Why would we be hiding history?" (Don't have my books with me at the moment, so again, grain of salt).
Then, with Water 7 and Enies Lobby, it is revealed that the World Government does indeed have a vested interest in keeping history in the dark, making the idea that Robin wasn't lying when she said Alabasta's poneglyph only contained a record of history quite plausible. Robin's annoyance at Alabasta was therefore due to the fact that the poneglyph contained known history, as opposed to a record regarding the Void Century, which is what she was really after, not that it was necessarily truly about the Pluton.
That's my view on it, at least.
As I said before, though, I'm completely omitting the Skypiea poneglyph at the moment, since I don't recall what was said in regards to it, save that Roger left a message there…
I hope Oda doesn't handicap Zoro with this guys poison sword. I am tired Zoro not being able to go 100% in his battles. Is Zoro going to fight Hodi and the swordsmen?

Well, since they sell parts of the tree in the black market I think it's reasonable to assume that the Tree of Adam doesn't exist anymore… At least that is the way I've always seen this... Though a new Tree of Adam could have grown up I beleve that the original is no more...

It really does seem like everything is set and ready to go, much quicker than the larger arcs we just passed through. But i'm certain even if the battles do end quicker than expected, the crew will be exploring the island for a while before they set off. Probably coming across even more problems even after all ends appear to be tied.
The end all fights seem to be approaching so fast, there has to be another major plot point barely even hinted at so far that would keep this arc going for years. Most likely the "shadow," Big Mam related, or something dealing with the Poneglyph.

Fishwomen exist. There was Octopako and several fishwomen appeared in 616 if you look closely.

In a SBS Oda explained that for the most part, fishfolk and merfolk got along very well, but fishmen taking advantage of merfolk's good nature wasn't unheard of.

I don't think that's ever really happened. So if it has, it's extremely rare to the point that it doesn't really count as a comparison. With fishfolk and merfolk it seems to happen all the time.
Knowing that Zoro always has some kind of disadvantage, it's reasonable to think that he will be get poisoned by Hyozo (hope to be wrong, because it would mean that zoro's fights will become predictable). So, for that reason he will not defeat Hodi. Another reason is that it's too soon to fight the final boss because it's been only 13 chapters since fishman island arc started… Unless this is a hyper-mega-short-arc (i doubt it) Or maybe, he is not the main villain. In that case, Zoro could defeat him, but this would make Jinbe angry (remember the message). Too much speculation

It's unclear if two fishmen can give birth to a merman or vice-versa. The only thing he mentioned was that a octopus mermaid can have a shark merman son regardless of who the father was. We only know about the fish base part, it's not as clear regarding the actual race.

Oh, no. Luffy will give him quite the chase before they'd actually fight. It'd be too boring if they fight just when they meet.
And I have a feeling that Zoro won't get a chance to fight Hodi. In fact, I don't think any of the battles (besides Sanji vs Caribou) have been set just yet. It'd be interesting if Nami steps up to challenge Hodi herself, but I doubt that the fight would come next chapter (maybe later). It'd also be odd if Robin and Franky who aren't with the others yet to not be involved in the battles to come.

Well, it has happened. And it's been documented well enough that you can prove it for yourself with a simple Google search. Genetics are funny in what they can do. And yes, it does count as a comparison. Because it's literally the same thing. The only difference is the fact that it's much more frequent of a phenomenon among fishpeople – to the point that it's commonplace to them and they think it's no big deal.

Kind of strange not even the royalty of FI don't end un intermarying to preserve one specific brand/family of fishmen/mermen. Which would be sort of interesting given what we have learned today.
Hyouzou and the officers aren't in the palace, they split up in page 6, only Vander Decken and Hodi Jones went into the palace.
Tney must have a plan to attack gyojin island, not only the palace.

I'm wondering about that myself. I didn't really take much notice of it at first, but the Princes absence became notable this chapter. I didn't expect them to hang around the palace entrance or anything, but I did expect them to find either Sanji/Chopper, Robin, Franky/Sunny, or even Luffy by now if they weren't going to. On the contrary, they don't seem to be anywhere they should be.
