Jesus fucking christ, the only good things about this are…
1. The dipshit who got himself killed died even more pointlessly.
2. This will be pretty much the ultimate evidence that the legal system if not fucking fair to minorities.
Though holy fuck how could ANYONE get off free over that shit. Ubiq's right, the one juror had to be not a retard.
This deserves a mistrial for a shitty jury.
Apparently after they got the replacement, deliberations took less than an hour. So it was almost certainly one or more members of the jury getting the guy tossed because he was holding out for a conviction on at least some of the counts.

Damnnit, all this will do is further embolden the miltia movement and their ilk. I'm already worried about what bozos like them will do Election Day and after, and this does not help.
Because 19% of the Dutch population voted against the Ukraine association accord in a NON-BINDING referendum, Ukraine will soon be sent to the Russian wolves.
Sorry, Lef. :(
It's not really suprising seeing how many warriors we've managed to supply IS with.
But that makes it no less fucked up.

In truth it's us who are suppose to put more effort in the treaty, anyhow.
We've kept hearing about these collage rapists and how some of them get off. Well this one isn't likely going to go free as he's a serial rapist and very violent. Brook Turner has nothing on him (except the money angle)
UW student charged with 11 counts of sexual assault involving 5 women
A search of Cook’s apartment by police turned up more than 20 notebooks that Sampson described Monday as containing “grooming and stalking” techniques, and a search warrant said that notebook entries detailed women by name, what Cook liked about them and what he wanted to do with them.
ah spoke too soon, they still likely to mess up this trial too.
But there’s no mention of the notebooks in the complaint that was filed on Thursday, Van Wagner pointed out after Cook’s court appearance Thursday.
In particular, Van Wagner took issue with a reference in the notebook, mentioned in court on Monday and in the search warrant, to the word “kill,” which he said was taken out of context and led to unfair characterizations on the internet.
WTF ya stupid laywer… there is a testimony of him choking a girl, there is a notebook the creep kept detailing what he wants to do to the girls and a few said "kill" …. just how is that taken out of context?!
how can those lawyers sleep at night?
“Our client has essentially been slaughtered by the social media image of him,” Van Wagner said. Now that he and Nicholson Goetz know what is in the complaint, he said, it’s evident that Cook is not stalking women on campus, did not keep stalking notebooks, and was not a “serial rapist.”
(emphasis mine)
Hello! There were 5 women attacked that qualifies as 'serial rapist' … oh yeah as a lawyer you're denying that happened, that it ws consentual. Fuck you.
The police have the 'stalking notebooks', so they exist. really fuck you scumbag lawyers.

They are, but if they can get off from an obvious crime with hours of proof by a jury from Oregon (unless everyone came from the east), I can't see how a jury made up of peers from their own state of Nevada is going to punish them.

But but he's a poor white boy who have a bright future. He shouldn't be punished for "20 minutes of action"!!
Have you seen the defence lawyers for the Indian gang rape case few years back? They justified their client action & one say he will burn his daughter to death if she dares go out in the night with a guy. These lawyers are juat greedy.
They will only prosecute him when he end up brutally murdering one of his victim. As long the girls are alive & merely rape, they wouldn't do anything about him. This guy will be a potential serial murder killer in the future. It's a matter of time…
And the anti-feminist people are still complaining that only female rape get taken seriously but male rape don't!!

And here we were just talking about racism and politics in the other thread….
University Police Chief Sue Riseling said in a tweet, "exercising your 1st amendment rts doesn't require good taste. Showin up #Badger in Obama mask & a noose around his neck is a prime example."
Gah.. there is a difference between free speech and hate speech though. Using a noose like that brings up memories of KKK and lynch mobs that hung black folk. Using a noose while wearing a mask of a person's face is saying you think that person should be lynched and hung … it says you think that person should be beaten to death.
IMO, any speech that invokes hate and violence goes beyond free speech. After all we also have the right to live in peace, not fearing for our lives.
nothing really new.seems to be a just another cross-border firing and attack and violation of the ceasefire, which happens from time to time, especially recently.not to mention the surgical strikes that india supposedly carried out earlier
i would hardly call it a direct attack.no need to raise the nuclear alarm bells, everyone.
btw, weird no one posted this here, but apparently the South Korean President is a puppet-head controlled by shady people
edit:not to mention that it's in retaliation to the beheading of an indian soldier by a millitant who escaped with the help of covering fire by the Pakistan side ,let alone the countless infiltration and terrorist attacks by so-called "non-state actors",especially the recent attacks on indian army posts in Uri and Pathankot. There is nothing recent about this hostility, and it certainly didn't start from the Indian side

a lot of is in the south korean media apparently, but i don't have any links for any english alternatives
So bizarre cultish South Korean Christians…

More news concerning Standing Rock. Now there is a fire near a protest camp…. worse, its arson.
Oceti Sakowin Camp suspects that DAPL security set this fire as a distraction. This is on the heels of the lone gunman, DAPL security guard who rushed the camp on October 27 and is now in the hands of the FBI.
Ya know I recently saw a pic that compared a line of gunmen at Wounded Knee to the line of security forces at Standing Rock. I wondered if it was a bit too much, after all, Wounded Knee was a massacre. But now… I can see why someone would compare the side opposing the natives right before the massacre of Wounded Knee to Standing Rock
Seriously… How is it that people who were seen on national media with guns having a standoff with police officials were acquitted ... and the indians are being treated like they're terrorists?

That's the baffling part… also, wasn't the militia nuts on federal land, while natives are on tribal land that was given to them in a 1800s (1850?) treaty??

Because if the non-whites protest peacefully it's wrong and has to be stamped out, if it's the whites and their brandishing guns and threatening people indirectly or directly, they're just honest hard-working folk just doing what the constitution doesn't say they can do.

The thing is this is everywhere people use power of people beliefs to stab others in the back thats ….
i dont really find the word to describe my feelings about these people
And this is not the first one many other things happen but crimes like rape get covered if it hurts reputation of the government
They dont go find a way to fix rape and body selling and usage of drugs they just try to hide it and when things get too messy they start to think

Eh… I don't think it does justice to the Native Americans to oversimplify their problem like that.
The Bundy ruling was unfortunate, probably the result of how heavily politicized his actions were. The mainstream media most likely poisoned the jury pool, resulting in biased jurors.
The DAPL issue has been completely abandoned by the mainstream media, so we have the reverse problem: powerful corporations can get away with murder when their actions go unchecked.
I'm not really seeing the racism component here.

It's probably the position itself that corrupts them; there are many studies showing that power can warp the mind and actions of any individual, which is why we should avoid letting any one person have too much power for too long.

That wasn't the intent.

It's pretty simple
white person does something bad gets cleared of any wrong doing because of sympathetic jury or judges.
Non white person does something not even remotely bad or potentially dangerous? "let's sic the dogs, water canons, and tear gas on them" bonus points if they wind up being thrown in jail or killed.
There may not be a racial component to any of this to you but with the fact that historically whites and non whites are treated differently under was and still is a problem.

If the exact same people made both of those decisions, racism would be the first thing I'd ask about. Those jurors didn't immediately move to North Dakota to screw over Native Americans.
You could argue that the media is showing racial bias in not covering the story, but big evil corporations screw people constantly, regardless of race.
Just look at this massive list of oil and natural gas accidents, and consider the fact that many (probably a majority) were due to sheer negligence in the race to profit.

There is a long, storied history of oil companies (among other environmentally exploitative businesses; fun times in uranium mining) out west fucking over American Indians and getting away with it because the local governments simply don't give a fuck about what happens to Indian land.
If the pipeline were cutting through a white cattle rancher's favorite pasture land, you bet your ass there'd be hell to pay. But a pipeline going over important and precious cultural grounds for the Sioux? Fuck 'em, let the oil flow.

The most obvious difference between the two cases is media involvement. A strong media-driven campaign could make a huge difference in the outcome of the DAPL protests. Thus, you could make a case that the mainstream media have a racial bias against certian minorities, but I'd really need to see more specific evidence before agreeing that local governments would care at all about the needs of individual white people as opposed to individual minorities as compared to the needs of a rich and powerful corporation.
In regard to the Standing Rock Sioux conflict, I keep getting this ad on Youtube
That ad wasn't even spun very convincingly. They really should've just pulled a Trump and lied outright. >_>
Some people in florida are packing heat this halloween. This can't end badly.
@Jovan:
Trump has a lot dirty laundry, none of it however involves destroying entire nations and killing innocent Muslim civilians. As secretary of state, don't pretend she did not have a massive role in the bombing of Libya which handed the nation to extremists and plunged it into chaos. Don't pretend she had nothing to do with the drone strikes in Yemen, Afghanistan, Somalia or Pakistan which have costed civilian lives. Do you hate Trump so much you would rather have a war criminal in office?
And people still think Hillary had everything to do with Libyan chaos…

I mean at this point… yes. I'd rather have a war criminal who intentionally killed 4 Americans in Benghazi than Trump.
I don't actually believe that Hillary intentionally killed those 4 people, but it doesn't really matter because Trump is no McCain, Romney, Bush Jr or Bob Dole. He's an idiot with no experience in politics who has made promises that would literally destroy our country.

I don't actually believe that Hillary intentionally killed those 4 people,
I do believe that Republicans who were somewhat complicit in the deaths of those 4 men, have actively and very hypocritically led a smear campaign that was designed to hurt Hillary Clinton's prospective bid to become President. Because they have fuck all else to do…...besides fixing our infrastructure, not wasting money on arbitrary and unnecessary shit, and misblaming people for things that aren't their fault.

http://www.caracaschronicles.com/2016/11/02/57927/ this is so much bullshit.
I mean from here I can say "yeah, bring it down I don't care " but it is so much bullshit to get to a breaking point of "yeah the government is a dictatorship, we have to do everything to take it down" to "well sit in the negotiation table, again, to see if this time works." Politics, maybe the backdoor deal is a good one, but from what I see, this stinks, and the smell is the same as every time before this one.
So… when did The Daily Show go completely nuts? Mocking doctors and scientists for choosing to cut short a drug study with potentially serious side effects is really low, and the pharmaceutical industry should treat all drugs as carefully as this one.

It's a comedy show, and it's a joke area with much low hanging, ripe fruit.
Complaining that a comedy bit is factually wrong would make it seem like one is missing the point
The clip accurately points out that most contraceptives for women have those same adverse effects, though. The drug they were testing was just a combo of testosterone and another synthetic progestin akin to the ones used in some IUDs, oral contraceptives, implants, and injections, and all of them have the same potential adverse effects. In fact the progestin isn't new. It even predates depo-prevera (the current standard injection contraceptive).
Now, this isn't to say I've seen the study to say how frequent the psychological side effects are, but at least based on what's been reported about this, it is kind of odd that they would go out of their way to say the side effects are too serious to continue it when this is something that's been known about this drug class for years.
So, remember that whole Brexit thing? Turns out it might not actually be happening, after all.
So, remember that whole Brexit thing? Turns out it might not actually be happening, after all.
Is it really only up to the UK itself to decide that?
They voted out, the union accepted. Can they now just turn around and say well we changed our minds?
