I think it's because the only reason Luffy took them on the plunge is because someone goaded him into doing so.
Luffy and Law were perfectly fine taking the guaranteed and safe route, until Kidd mocked them.
That ego-driven decision had a strong statistical chance of killing the entire crew, after they already survived the scary raid.
He literally risked everyone's lives for no good reason, they could have died for nothing of importance.
So I actually understand that Nami has full rights to be extremely pissed.
I'm genuinely shocked that her actions are being associated with bossiness,
when this is actually the most justified she's been in a long time.
TL;DR: Luffy suffering a consequence for his buffoonery makes sense to me.
Buffoonery is entertaining to the reader, sure. But from the perspective of characters like Nami,
I can't be mad at her for throttling him.
