I was discussing this with few people yesterday - there's no way the order of the ship captain numbers equals strength. Just no way. Burgess can not be stronger than Shiliew or any of the other ID recruits. Sure, he's a tank type fighter, but he doesn't have a devil fruit as of now and we just saw his performance on Dressorsa which wasn't too impressive to say the least. Before we found out about Laffitte and Shiliew's numbers this chapter, I thought they may go in order of joining, but with Laffitte being #5 and Shiliew being #2 that doesn't work. Knowing the crew, they probably just did some stupid raffle contest and whoever was more lucky got the higher number.
Also - I think we're getting more and more evidence that they don't really… have other fodder people in their so-called fleet? (It's going to be absolutely hilarious if it's just one person per each ship). No people were shown on the ships with Laffitte and Shiliew (one could argue they were just off screen of course), but more importantly - why would Burgess need them two to come pick him up if he had his own crew and some men power with him at Dressrosa? If the ships were packed with people there must have been doctors there and all, and he wouldn't really need to follow Sabo and the revolutionaries all on his own being so injured, right? He seems to have been completely alone there.
My friend also mentioned that the big 10 are just too cruel to keep ordinary people around and would probably kill them off for fun from time to time :ninja:
Like the White Beards the higher numbers are probably all roughly in line with each other as far as power and capability go. During Impel Down Shiliew was considered to be Magellans equal and there was no way anyone besides Black Beard would have been able to defeat him then. I'd say it's like a Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Jinbe situation. In 2 years Burgess probably had a lot of room to grow compared to Shiliew.
Sabo is Sabo. He is Ace's spiritual successor in every sense of the word. We knew no one outside of Teach could handle Ace 2 years ago, it's reasonable to assume that the same could be Said about Sabo now. Of course it's looking like Teach's crew is growing just as much as Luffy's crew at the moment. I doubt any Black Beard commander would have done any better during the arc that Sabo was reintroduced.
Burgess to get Dragon's fruit!! Calling it!!
Robin blushing at the dragon. Dragon asking koala about robin? Could it be that she has a crush on dragon?
@Buggy:
Dragon was asking a lot about Robin and Robin was blushing looking at the drawn dragon. Something is going on!!!
Remember when Oda made straw hats into a family, Robin was the mother. Maybe dragon n Robin had a love child while she was training. Kinda explains her huge limbs she spawns..meaning dragon prolly transforms into a mystical dragon n takes care of business lmao.
NO.
Robin being able to read and decipher ancient language is a really, really bad scenario as someone for the world government to capture, and there was a report after Sabondy of Robin being captured… so that would have been an active worry for the last week.
And Robin just found the drawing cute. SHe had a similar reaction to Kuma's paws.
Could it be the Raizou is a woman? :ninja:

That's highly unlikely. And that's an understatement. There's no way they would be able to control a large territory with just 10 guys too busy not to get shipwrecked because they have to operate a a ship on their own in a sea with weird currents, gigantic monsters, crazy storms, greedy pirates and meriless Marines.
I think Burgess didn't have time to go back to his ship and heal then run back and sneak abord a Revo ship. He had a limited time window and had to act.
Nowadays, all the cool fodders are in Buggy's crew.

Well Burguess disappeared for a long time and there was quite some firepower in Dressrosa. They could easily have went to pick him up with a punch decent enough to bust him out.
They are both in the same room. I doubt they could actually do that in the middle of the sea if they had no crew(the other boat would be drifting apart).
We just saw Barto with no navigator but plenty men. I doubt Shilliew and Lafitte could relax in one room.
Absensce of fodder comes from being in the captain office I would say.
Burgess is still wounded after 10 days, I guess going to a doctor makes a huge difference even in One Piece.

He must not have eaten much. Everyone knows food restores HP.
@Han:
So you think Revo's army would lose againts yonkou?.
I think it'd be a close call.
@Han:
This Revo is set up by oda for the final war or final arc.
The Blackbeard Pirates are a vital story component as well though.
@Han:
I think oda want to show us how powerfull Revo is.
Perhaps.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Well that yonko crew also had 45 allied captain with him(and 44 crew), 2 shichibukai, and a decent amount of backup.
Then again, the Yonko crew's leader was old and sick and they were missing two of their commanders.
Neither side had all the fighters they could have had, and the Marines had the homefield and tactical advantage from the getgo.
Basically, The Whitebeard Pirates provided a major threat to the WG, even by themselves (with associates).
I also considered they were stomped all the way militarily speaking.
Well, like I said, the Marines had the tactical advantage.
For the greater part, the WB pirates handled themselves pretty well though.
The commanders had good showings against the admirals and they did actually achieve their goal of saving Ace.
Had Blackbeard not appeared, Whitebeard may have also sunk Marineford altogether.
The real point is, that I doubt the Revolutionaries have much greater resources and strength than a Yonko crew.

Now that you mention it, it could be that one of the revolutionaries dies in battle and burgess gets his fruit. We don't know what DFs they have, but maybe Burgess gets the ''crow crow'' fruit from that guy we didn't see yet? crowwww suplex:ninja:

Wonder if the reason why Shilliew was said to be equal or on par with Magellan is because he had the antidote for his poisons. He hadmore then enough time to figure out magellan's DF and make antidotes. We don't even know if he had haki back then, not that magellan had it.

Chapter 803 by Powermanga.
Like always, if you see anything off, let me or BernieCrane know.
I like how you guys decided to go with commodore instead of admiral. Makes more sense.
I didn't notice until now, but is the stern of Barto's ship supposed to look like Chopper? I'm almost sure, but the first page of 803 only provides a shot of the ship from the side, a very small one.
Also nice cover page, the front of the viking hercules looking like the head of heracles :)
Edit: Oh, and Shiliew changed the Impel Down symbol on his clothes with skulls, that's kinda cute

As funny as it would be, it's unlikely.
Both Shiliew and Laffite are currently on the same ship. So who is steering the second ship? Why would a single person be on each ship anyway?
Oh man oh man oh man. So glad we got to see a glimpse of Lafitte this chapter. I cannot wait for him to be a central character in an arc somewhere down the line.
Like the White Beards the higher numbers are probably all roughly in line with each other as far as power and capability go. Very highly debatable, I think that BlackBeard wouldn't have been able to beat magellan nor shiryuu, actually lost to one of the 2. Before his timeskip.

Some of the lvl 6, and shiryuu probably could have had a better performance? I think that the "previous crew" is much weaker then the "new crew"

I don't think the new crewmembers have to be stronger the the old ones.
It's like with Straw hats. First 2 that joined the crew( luffy nad zoro) are also the stronger ones even then the ones that joined later on. Sanji Who joined not much after them is also next to luffy and zoro.
Even if the previous members are dangerous ID criminals, Jimbei himself is very strong and a former warlord with 420 m bounty, but likely luffy and zoro at least will still be above. Sanji should be too, if we will still have that ''monster trio'' thing going on.

Like always, if you see anything off, let me or BernieCrane know.
Thanks a ton as usual. You do a fantastic job.
Just one note: is 'kanji' plural? Beacuse if it's not, then in page 4 it should say in the TN: The kanji for "autographs" says…
–---------
Is Buggy still looking for Captain John's treasure? That was his priority when he got his title of Warlord. And given that his nickname as Warlord, "Thousand Ryo Clown", strongly hints he's wealthy, I thought he became wealthy because he found the treasure. In this chapter we see he's very involved in his delivery business. It wouldn't make much sense if he give up on looking for the treasure; why to open a delivery business if you are looking for a treasure? So I'm leaning towards thinking his new business is another sign that he already found the treasure; after that he started his new business.
@LordEnel:
Very highly debatable, I think that BlackBeard wouldn't have been able to beat magellan nor shiryuu, actually lost to one of the 2. Before his timeskip.
Yeah and Luffy lost to Caesar once as well.
There was no way Oda was going to have Sabo lose face that arc. His skirmish with Fuji was even written in a way to make sure he wouldn't look like a chump. Be it Shiliew or San Juan, if any other subordinate showed up for the fruit Oda would have gone roughly the same route to keep Sabo as the nearly untouchable mentor figure for the main protagonist.
As funny as it would be, it's unlikely.
Both Shiliew and Laffite are currently on the same ship. So who is steering the second ship? Why would a single person be on each ship anyway?
For a meeting/ "call in". Laffite does have wings afterall.
Alvida reminds me of Mad Moxxi from Borderlands. Shiliew sure has gone up the ranks. In order of joining he was the fifth (excluding BB himself), but his badassery probably brought him up to the 2nd fleet.
IDK if someone already wrote that, but Raizou the Ninja could be inspired by Raizou Fuwa. Saw some pretty interesting ninja-lookin guy on Google.
Thanks a ton as usual. You do a fantastic job.

In this case, there are two Kanji (with a bit of okurigana thrown in there) so plural works.
is the name Raizou related in any way to the word Zou, or just a coincidence? maybe that ninja ate an Elephant Zoan, it would be very funny seeing a ninja elephant trying to hide
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
i think there is a possibility that the revolutionary army and Black Beard pirates form an alliance, they have the same enemy i suppose both of them would benefit in going against the WG together. We are assuming they will fight each other, maybe there is another solution to this

Well, that's impossible unless someone murdered Funkfreed.
Of course, there might be a SMILE involved but I doubt it. 2 people in the same small group having artificial devil fruits? That's going a little too far.
Well elephant zoan fruit doesn't have to be smile (at least that we already have an user for that fruit, I don't remember any). But what it would be a bit too far would a samurai who is a ninja who is a zoan fruit user… Just with the samurai-ninja I have sparkles in my eyes.
is the name Raizou related in any way to the word Zou, or just a coincidence? maybe that ninja ate an Elephant Zoan, it would be very funny seeing a ninja elephant trying to hide
Looking at the Japanese script, Raizō uses hiragana for zō (ぞう). As I understand, this was once a common name suffix for young men (e.g. Nami uses the name Namizō to convince Lola she is a man). As for the island, its name uses katakana for Zō (ゾウ), marking it as a conscious "proper noun" form of 'elephant' (象). I doubt there's anything more to it than Oda, in naming this samurai-ninja, going "ha, zō is an old Japan guy's thing and they're on Zō".
It would be actually hilarious if there would not only be a drawing fruit user in kinemons group who is very bad at drawing, but then Raizou who would be a stealth ninja despite being a damn elephant.:ninja:
In page 7, third panel, it should be Sabaody instead of Saboady. And in page 8, there's a missing l in Shilliew's name.
If a Blackbeard vs Dragon showdown goes down, it will make a huge impact on the story, where the WG will take advantage of this, and plant an even stronger hold they have on the world. Dragon being defeated, and ordering on his last command to his commanders to remain hidden until the time is right will be huge. And being defeated doesn't necessarily mean Dragon will be captured, but it could happen, with him giving time to Sabo to escape.
At the same time, we have in motion this Edward Weeble who is going after Luffy, while Kaidou's men are on the island chasing after something on the island of Zou. I don't know what threats await Luffy on Zou, but I hope it's good.
Followed by the showdown of what I believe to be a powerful character / possibly Kaidou's first mate - being Captain Jack in his attempt to rescue Doflamingo from Fujitora's grasp. I'm pretty sure the attempt will succeed, and Doflamingo will be taken - only to be Kaidou's/Captain Jack's prisoner.
In page 7, third panel, it should be Sabaody instead of Saboady. And in page 8, there's a missing l in Shilliew's name.
Sabaody will be fixed, thanks.
But "Shiliew" is correct.
!
As funny as it would be, it's unlikely.
Both Shiliew and Laffite are currently on the same ship. So who is steering the second ship? Why would a single person be on each ship anyway?
Second ship may be just attached to the first one. I mean, they sailed Grand Line on a raft previously, so I wouldn't be surprised :P
Each captain has their own ship to be able to go to different places for different goals, I guess. Shiliew and Laffitte could have sailed on 2 different ships from 2 different islands and then met at some point to go get Burgess.
I will be sticking up to this thought anyway before we get it proven wrong. I don't want any fodder folk in the crew. One of the main reasons why I fell in love with them in the first place was being a small crew where every member matters, just like the Strawhats.
I agree, that's how I've always wanted it to be.

YES! It's awesome. I started two weeks ago, I already know all the Katakana and Hiragana
I want to reread One Piece in japanese as soon as possible.

Yes, I think that too
I hope ODA shows Dragon more
Hey Bernie and Galaxy, is "barometers at full throttle" intentionally nonsensical? Cause it makes no sense to me.
Hey Bernie and Galaxy, is "barometers at full throttle" intentionally nonsensical? Cause it makes no sense to me.
Bartolomeo straight up drops the "Barometers at full throttle" line in Japanese:
おらたづの幸せバロメーターはすでにフルスロットル!! ETA: Version 2 of Chapter 803 is out now.
Hey Bernie and Galaxy, is "barometers at full throttle" intentionally nonsensical? Cause it makes no sense to me.
I think the idea is that his content or happiness meter is full - he got more than he expected in terms of interacting with his heroes, and so now he's content to sail off for the time being.
The use of the word "barometer," if that is the accurate translation, is odd. Barometers measure pressure, so… idk that gets really weird really fast :P

I agree with you, Robby, & I desire to add some of my thoughts to this.
If Robin's reaction to that dragon is an indication of a romantic relationship between her and Dragon, why then didn't she react the same way to the dragon in Punk Hazard?
Monkey D. Dragon is depicted with a Western dragon theme(his ship, for instance), and that dragon is a Western dragon. By this logic, she should react especially to the dragon in Punk Hazard in a similar way.
I think that is simply one of Oda-sensei's gags. Boys react to robots and Ninjas with sparkly eyes. Girls react to cute things like how Robin did this week.

That's what I think, too, Ned. I think the pressure stands for his happiness and vice versa. Like you said, the barometer is used to measure air pressure. When there is little air pressure the barometer is low( let's say 500 millibars). When the air pressure is great, the barometer gives a great number of millibars (let's say 1000 millibars). I think the idea there is to think of his happiness as air pressure, and it makes sense that if his happiness(air pressure) is at its peak, the barometer will be at full throttle(1100 millibars).

Regarding the "thing" that was falling on Luffy and his group, it cannot be the elephant's excrement because an elephant does not excrete waste on his legs, and Luffy and company were climbing his legs.

It is possible for that to be someone who holds a grudge against Kaido because Kaido is a dragon, and Luffy and co. are riding a dragon. Hence the confusion. It is possible for that to be Raizo. That would be then a cool introduction.

Barometer can be used more generally in French on everything that indicates a tendancy (like opinion barometer is pretty common) maybe it is the same in Japanese

I've heard barometer used similarly in English.
