    • RE: How do you feel about Luffy's new fruit?

If Raftel was truly "Laughtale" from early on, and it was just mistranslated or something, then Oda had to have conceptualized this power to develop within Luffy in some way or another.

I as of now don't have any other problems with this development. I very much enjoy it. I will be honest that I would have appreciated 1 or 2 more hints about Luffy's strange devil fruit powers from someone with lots of battle-experience or knowledge of devil fruit abilities/devil fruits themselves. Because guessing along the way what was going on with Luffy would have also been fun.

    • RE: Chapter 1,044: Warrior of Liberation

Well, reviewing how Luffy defeated Cracker with Tankman, which to me always made almost no sense, as Luffy absorbed/sucked in with his large mega-body Cracker lunging into him a 2H sword - It had to be one of the couple of hints Oda gave that Luffy's body was not normal, only doing what it was doing through his imagination and will-power. Doflamingo made a comment, but that sort of made no sense. Unless it was because he enlarged his body.

Maybe head-cannon, but maybe when fighting various people like Magellan, where he comments his mental strength was insane… perhaps it was that animalistic/zoan-like spirit that made Luffy fight like crazy. Sort of how the awakened Zoan users in Impel Down were crazy brutal. But at the same time, Luffy made plenty of people laugh with the way he fought, being ridiculous. So that tied in nicely with the final awakening

I have come to actually appreciate his awakening abilities thus far (I'm waiting for more). I just wish there was an additional one or two hints that something was abnormal about his fruit abilities. I can even dismiss easily the arguments that the Gorosei should have killed or captured Luffy already if it was that dangerous of a fruit (in their perspective). I find their attempts already to be adequate given their short time in the Grandline/New World, and the 800 years of non-threatening awakening of the fruit.

While the WG deems this specific fruit dangerous in their historical perspective, it doesn't necessarily mean no other fruit can be dangerous to them. I'm almost convinced that Kaidou's fruit is classified just as dangerous, they just can't do anything about it. The WG's attempts of capture, failed execution and attempts to replicate the fruit must mean they absolutely wanted it just as much.

    • RE: Chapter 1,043: Let's Face Death Together!!!

I think Luffy is going to become incredibly goofy and playful with his awakening powers, mirroring Kaidou's weird modes. He will be serious at some point to eventually knock out Kaidou. The time Kaidou is knocked out will give time for Momo and Zuneisha to kill Kaidou for good.

Unless… Kaidou understands after his knock out that Luffy is the legend, the Joy Boy of prophecy, and flies into the sky and beyond (to return later) accepting defeat after Luffy has saved everyone. Possibly changing his outlook on life, because Luffy's haki to make allies and friends is just that immense to even affect even Kaidou. To the point of not persisting in Wano. To await the point of where Joy Boy can change the world, then Kaidou returns.

    • RE: Chapter 1,043: Let's Face Death Together!!!

      What I think happened:

      1. Simply the Gomu-Gomu fruit awakening. (Mirroring Katakuri's awakening, which is one of the few reasons the fight occurred.) Nothing else. Nothing legendary.

      2. Zuneisha announcing the arrival of Joy Boy. It's another variation of an awakening for a fully "bloomed-out" haki user with those of the "D" blood-line. The convictions of Luffy wanting freedom and being "pure" is giving nostalgic vibes of the Original Joy Boy. Hence Zuneisha's remarks. (The reasoning for this is because Luffy's haki was inferior to Kaidou's, despite the accomplishments of being able to fight on a decent even-keel.) Luffy isn't someone else.

Furthermore, Luffy's haki/"innate D" abilities were sort of leaking out, since he was able to communicate with Law's crew in the submarine when he was dropped into the ocean. I expect Luffy to communicate with everyone on Onigashima, as Kaidou doesn't seem to care about nuking even his own crew-mates.

Also, the Gorosei remark about a devil fruit awakening is not about Luffy's devil fruit. There is nothing special about it imo, and they are referring to something else. If anything it has to either do with Luffy being a "D." and/or Zuneisha/(User who commands it), and they are referring to it as devil-fruit. The Gorosei know all of the Void History, so they'll know about Joy Boy and Zuneisha relationship. Being that a "D" and Zuneisha are near each other probably sparked fear and diarrhea.

    • RE: What is the false-named fruit the Five Elders are talking about?

While the language of "awakening" wasn't there, the same meaning was had when Shirahoshi was calling the Sea Kings/Neptunians. Her power awakened, became established fully… whatever...

The line of "erasing that fruit's name from the annals of history" is akin to why the poneglyfs are not to be read. The WG doesn't want the world knowing about Ancient Weapons, the name of the weapons, etc.

But then why call it a devil fruit? Or perhaps the one commanding it is a devil fruit? Because there is a weird correlation. Devil fruit power returns to the world after the user dies, but it's not apparent how quickly it happens. On punk hazard, we see it happens quickly, but is it always that way if circumstances are different with no fruit located around the dead user? But with Ancient Weapons, they are "reincarnated" over many many years. But instead of actual fruit, the power returns to a person/entity (at least for Poseidon and w/e Momo is).

I would find it incredibly weird if the 5 Elders are talking about anything else. I don't understand the sudden topic/conversation shift at that moment.

    • RE: European Politics Thread

Putin is going to take this as a huge political hit and probably not last long (maybe until Russia has 100% control over most of the key areas of Ukraine), but the one who takes his place will probably be more militaristic.

Next, Turkey will in the highest of likelihood block the Bosporus (encouraged by the West) at some point to place strain on Russian access to the Mediterranean/Black Sea, which will force Russia to start a war with Turkey as well.

    • RE: Chapter 1,034: Sanji vs. Queen

I'm disappointed that Sanji hasn't employed both legs to be on "fire" in a new fighting style of his own, that mimics or adds elements to the okama-island style fighting (and only reverts to that fighting style in the most dangerous of moments, because he dislikes it so much due to the memories it brings him back to.) That would be a fun-read imo.

On one side, it was interesting where we thought the story was heading. Sanji's emotions being sacrificed to gain strength to defeat Queen. But I had some issues with that. I still think it should occur to some level, being he has awakened his exo-skeleton. Like he's less moved emotionally speaking, but acts on behalf of the crew as usual that he's happy, sad, laughing, etc… all to help Luffy become Pirate King. He keeps it a secret, but only Zoro and maybe later Robin know if it. It would have gone well with the theme of sacrifice...

    • RE: Official Wano Thread

Chapter 685, pg. 11 states from Ceaser's men that the fruit was a failure. Chapter 1007 confirmed what Vegapunk reported to the WG that the fruit was according to him, deemed a failure.

We are meant to understand or at least suspect Vegapunk lied to the WG.

If anything this could be the catalyst for Vegapunk escaping arrest if and when the WG finds out the fruit was indeed a success. Then falling into contact with the Strawhats in the near future for an explanation of devil fruits and the awakening aspect.

    • RE: Chapter 1,014: The Ham

So Momonosuke's Ancient Weapon powers… Zuneisha punished, to walk for "eternity". The other giant animals, or perhaps "sky kings" (if such things exists) are in hiding by a previous command during void century. (Sky Kings would designate their title/name by the fact that the majority of the animal is in the air. Sky Kings can have long legs, and if they don't have legs, they are capable of flight? Therefore Dragons really do exist?) - Maybe... and this is stealing an idea from Zelda, where there were 3 dragons. One dragon resided in in the sea and would swim/fly out into the sky.

Perhaps Momo is sensing a dragon sky king that is in hiding, in the deep cavities of earth below the sea where Onigashima resided? And only by command, as they share vision, will they reveal themselves? Somewhat similar to what Shirahoshi was capable of doing.

I mean, is it not coincidence that on God Valley, Kaidou ate the Mythical Dragon fruit. It just happened to be there? Momo ate a replica, at a WG facility. Dragons re-created by Vegapunk on Punk Hazard? The Sword God Ryuuma slayed a dragon in the past in Wano. So many dragons... I don't think Zuneisha is what Momo is sensing. I'm calling it now, it's a dragon, and it'll tear Onigashima down before it lands on the capital.

    • RE: Chapter 1,013: Anarchy in the B.M.

So Luffy's loss, I'd say and probably obvious at this point… Kaidou's superior DF and haki vs Luffy's growing haki was just obviously not enough and one attack was capable of penetrating Luffy's new defenses + Kaidou's fortune/dragon passive ability that knocked him out and off the island. Perhaps an attack like the one Zoro tanked, but it was just Kaidou's.

Now... being that we see Ulti and Page1 suffering huge injuries, possibly only to face off with Nami and Usopp much later - gives off a huge clue to the readers what will come next.

Big Mom and Kaidou in betrayal will face off with one another. Kaidou will need to be weakened significantly when Luffy faces off with him once more, is what I'm getting at.
