By all accounts Fred Trump was an asshole.

This man pumps out so much hypocrisy. It's the gift that keeps on giving.
Of course the Trump followers will wave it off as nothing, like they would anything Trump ever does. I'm not sure what the man could do that would lose him his base at this point.
Act like a Democrat. (as I was posting that the song "Walk Like a Man" started popping into my head)
-
At his father's wake, Trump said:
Having seen his speeches, this really fits a pattern. The guy can't help himself. He has to introduce some project or "agenda" when he talks in public. This guy is a slave to his habits, and he's only declining.
-
By all accounts Fred Trump was an asshole.
Woody Guthrie once lived in an apartment building owned by Fred Trump. He wrote hateful songs about Ol' Fred and how he kept black people out of his buildings.

So.

Wonder how long before it's deleted and replaced with something only semi-illegible

So.
Is it too much to hope he had a stroke mid-tweet.
-
They better add Covfefe in the dictionary soon with an appropriate meaning

@Cyan:
Is it too much to hope he had a stroke mid-tweet.

I have actually seen someone suffer from a seizure right in front of me mid-sentence, and that's definitely the text equivalent.
-
When the book is written, this is going to be a whole fucking chapter.

So the tweet is still up and it's been two hours.
I'm pretty sure the Secret Service should check the bathroom right now just to be sure he hasn't pulled an Elvis.
-
To think, these could be Trump's last words to the American people/World.
It probably won't be, but damn what if it was?
-
I was going to make a joke about Foxy hijacking his Twitter account midpost but then I realized that he'd actually be a better President than what we really have and now I'm depressed.
-
If he actually is dead, then no one is allowed to criticize a piece of media for "not being realistic" anymore.
-
I can only assume it's his safe word and Putin is being far too rough tonight.
-
Never forget all of these things are becoming a history

I imagine his cabinet is butting heads together right now to decide what covfefe means.

I imagine his cabinet is butting heads together right now to decide what covfefe means.
Probably. But then I guess they'll not tell everyone the same thing. So we'll be back where we started lol.
-
So basically he tweeted out the nuclear football code, I'm getting.
-
I wonder though. Are we behaving like FoxNews with this tweet affair? Or is this really appalling?
-
Don't even with that shit.
We'll become Fox News only once we start spreading misinformation that actually harms people. Covfefe is harmless hilarity, but what isn't is the fact that it went un-dealt-with for five hours. A mentally incompetent toddler is at the helm, and nobody in the White House has thought to give him a babysitter. It tells us that Bannon and Priebus are hardly the puppetmasters they'd like to think themselves, when they're not even capable of preventing moronic gaffs like this that, although harmless, certainly don't do anything to boost Trump's approval rating. Also, that five hours could have much graver implications if the tweet had, instead, been something like "You're going down Germany!!" or "I dare Kim Jong Un to try something!"
I bet even Obama had a spell+factchecker for his tweets. Probably an intern. Because that's the responsible thing to do.

Sometimes, I just don't realize that I'm getting used to Trup

So a bill called the Financial Choice Act was approved by the House committee earlier this month. It's designed to amend the Dodd-Frank Act. You can find a brief summary of what the bill does along with a copy of the actual legislation here. This NPR article helpfully goes over why this is a bad thing too.

While it's funny, and a humorous thing to read the tweets tagged in it, it is absurd the amount of coverage it's getting. This morning CNN went from covering a suicide bombing for 5 minutes, to the tweet for 20. Checked in on the channel a few hours later and they were still talking about the tweet.
I'm all for the fun of it, but it's being sandwiched between "80 people in Afganistan dead" and "Trump not signing on for environmental accords". I understand that Trump is a news machine because he can't lift a fork without doing it wrong and insulting at least a religion, race, and fact, but give the tweets the 2 minutes it deserves and talk about the serious stuff.
I will admit, that when I checked in later they did try to tie the topic back to Trump giving his cell number away and the risks that contains. But then it goes back to the tweet and you have journalist flip from giving valid criticisms, and taking light of how stupid he is.

Funny thing, Trump had a few good points about the media (though I doubt he was sincere), and that's nothing new. Hell it's been like this for years–I recall a Presidential State of the Union under Clinton being interrupted by news about O.J Simpson. They cover the popular stories rather than the ones that deserve it, like that one time Bernie Sanders had a speech and got split screened with an empty podium of a Trump speech. Or more recently, how they're covering Tiger Woods getting a DUI or whatever.
The major news networks are doing good for the occasional major story and breaking news. You need to stick newspaper and internet--and even then you need to be careful.
Also, anyone seen this? Looks like Trump's press team wrote a statement saying that Trump is a great guy. His feeling must really be hurt if they need to embarrass themselves like this just to make him feel better.

With many positions that need to be filled within the federal government. The Trump administration apparently has trouble finding anyone who wants to be part of it.
Reportedly, all the controversy surrounding Trump's Presidency is causing him great and terrible amounts of stress.

Well. That article is kinda depressing..in that he's so moody. And he's not good at making sound decisions. This is why you don't just surround yourself with your buddies at work.
-
Tump is really fucking stupid, he goes "yeah, I'll give my decision at 9p.m." this motherfucker behaves as if he was gonna give the results of the fucking lottery. The idiot is building tension for the climate change accord !!

and wasn't it said that he basically made his decision (a nay) to begin with?
-
and wasn't it said that he basically made his decision (a nay) to begin with?
We all know he's gonna say no, but he's building some pathetic tension around it as if anyone was impatiently waiting 9p.m. to hear him speak.
-
I'm kind of upset that he's depressed and gaining weight. Don't want the dude to die.
Want him to be arrested and convicted of treason and left in jail for the next 12 years without any of his wealth or power.
-
Will he beat Taft in becoming the president who gained the most weight while in office?
-

Remember back during the campaign when he told Hillary, to her face, that she didn't have the "stamina" to be President? Looks like he seriously overestimated his own. It's as if his own words have come back to haunt him. If he's as mopey as the article says just afew months into his term, somebody should probably tell him the job doesn't get easier going forward. And that's just the nature of the job when it runs smoothly.
-
You wont see him come on Jimmy Kimmel and read off mean tweets about himself like Obama did.

Hahaha. He'd only agree to it if they were tweets of praise.
-

I'm sure to Trump dying is losing so he'll stick around no matter what.
-
Gotta wonder how he'll be during the next campaign (assuming no impeachment, he runs again, he lives) if he's in even poorer shape than he was only 4 months in.
-
If the presidency turned Obama- a young, lean, baller- into a gaunt, white-haired, wrinkle-covered…well, still a baller, it's fun to imagine what it'll do to a 70-year old walking coronary who loves tacos/steaks/fried chicken and doesn't "believe" in exercise.

!

Keep in mind that all he's had to deal with so far is self-created drama; we've yet to have a natural disaster or anything similar that would put the real stress of the job on him.

I'm starting to think Cillizza has a crush.

Accusations of surveillance by the Obama Administration return as a diversionary tactic. Devin Nunes makes a guest star appearance too.
-
The thing is, with Comey testifying next week and Mueller on the case, distractions aimed at the bread-and-circuses deplorables won't cut it anymore. The Trumpanzees will never accept any evidence against him anyway, and the rest of the country already disapproves with a vengeance.
…Or so I hope T_T

People are so focused on Trump's lying that don't pay enough attention to Pence lying just as much. "America is back" "Such a succesful trip" "We built and strengthened so many alliances"
-
Remember, there were some sensible minded people who stayed home and didn't vote for Hilary because she wasn't "woke" enough.
Yes, Hilary probably would have been friendly to the big banks, but she wouldn't have done this.
