I always enjoyed Long Ring Long Land. Never understood the hate. It’s one of the funniest arcs and it’s relaxing, because we just came off of two arcs with major major threats. It’s a nice refresher before heading into another arc like that. Also, love to hate foxy.

I think it is an arc you don't like on your first read but you love to reread.
Many people seems to feel the same way about the East Blue saga.
-
Really? Cuz most people say the Arlong park arc is what really got them into the series.

Foxy was AMAZING to read in real time.
With the tease of thinking we'd get a new crewmate then? Holy crap, it's was THRILLING!!!!
Not to mention the comedy hijinks that Oda excels at.
However…lol...I get the impression that Oda doesn't have much love for him, haha.
Well, I shouldn't say that but at least he doesn't have any BIG plans for him at this point. That's how he got the ok for the TV special.
....and inversely also why we don't see certain characters.

LET'S FIGHT
Man, I was really fighting hard against the urge to just post a certain Dr. Evil video in response.
….and inversely also why we don't see certain characters.
I might be totally off the mark here but the first name that popped into my head after reading this was Gin

I just came back man. Give me a little time to accomodate XD
We have time. Being a grump is like riding a bike. You may think you've forgotten how to do it, but once you get back in the saddle it'll all come back to you.
Fika is an easy enough concept, we brushed through that pretty swiftly. Lagom was a bigger catch, but once you get into the spirit of things, it truly becomes a useful and word for everyday use.
Fika has more uses and nuances. For instance you won't be getting any action nor any friendship if you don't know the etiquette of fika.
Thanks for the warm welcome btw^^
We were going to boo you and pelt you with rotten produce but this works too.

Check what fika is and wonder if it is the reason why swedish did not confinate

Fika… such a wonderful word. I don’t understand its meaning but I do have lovely emotions related to it. Unless it’s the dough roll with cinnamon and Advance Cinnamon. That thing is dangerous.

Its what you do after you've gone to bed with someone. You have an akward mandatory fika. And when you meet someone you haven't seen in a while the only approved way to reach out is to offer to have a fika sometime, akwardness is optional. And when you get sick and tired of your braindead customers you take your work buds to a nice company funded breakroom fika. When people show up unannounce at your summer home? Well you better pull out that cookie tray cause you'll now have to have a fika.

No that is just a product of our we know best smugness.
But it is nice to be able to still have a pandemic fika

A pity! I hope at least that Foxy & those others make cameo appearances in the final arc. Always thought it was a shame that - besides Wapol - Oda skipped the other Villains during the From the Decks of the World series. Asking him to draw a post-timeskip Morgan, Kuro and Krieg would probably be first on my list on a possible SBS letter.

If you knew what it means in italian…you would love it even more i cant say what it means though without being banned by every website

I thought that word for pussy cat was spelled with a C.
Southerners spelling with hard Ks, mamma mia whata world
-
I think italian does not have k since it is a well manered language which spells as it pronounces
-
Oh, so that is why the italian people in the office giggle like little kids when the sweddish bring Fika.
(same whenever you speak about eggs with a venezuelan without care, in spanish)

Morgan I actually can see coming back depending on how much attention Oda wants to give Helmeppo and Koby.

Really? Cuz most people say the Arlong park arc is what really got them into the series.
Arlong Park is almost 70 chapters into the saga. I notice the first thing people in general tend to find "hype" is Mihawk's appearance.
-
Mihawk was cool but he just showed up, revealed he was OP, and then left.
Arlong Park hooked people with an emotional story and the Straw Hats marching off to kick ass after hearing it.
-
I was just on the Reddit talking about something similar. I don't get how someone can watch or read something for so long with no hook. I hear mostly Alabasta or AP arcs for some getting their hook. Isn't that over 20 episodes? My thing is if you're forcing yourself too long on something in hope of some "hype", you'll find yourself just stuck in this weird marriage that you dislike without noticing. Know your taste.
Someone said you "have to trust the hype".
https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/heysal/after_90_episodes_im_hooked_however_i_have_1/fvue293/I don't know if my brother saying this is something you should try is hype. He's possibly the only one that knows my taste and could recommend me things to try. I don't like everything he recommends either. I'd give an anime like 8-12 episodes (manga about 4-8), but Zoro eating the lil girls stepped on food and Luffy taking the bullets was enough for me to change my mind on my preconceived notions, while hooking me.
It was wholesome. Every arc after that in EB Saga had a moment similar that reinforced my confidence in those kind of moments. It's almost like Luffy and Zoro knew each other for years the way they trusted each other after some introductions. Zoro still keeps the same sentiment that Luffy shouldn't get in the way of his dream, but also feels obligated to put his pride to the side and be there for Luffy as well. Imagine not being smitten by such treacly and saccharine content.

Morgan at least is explicitly tied to Coby and Helmeppo's story. So that's probably for the end-end game. Maybe the more corrupt Marines let him back in for reasons and they have to deal with him then.
Gin promised to meet Sanji again so he's maybe still going to randomly show up at some point, and if he does, maybe we'll get to see Cyborg Krieg-9000 who has been upgrade by Vegapunk.
Kuro… Oda has always seemed to feel was done. Okay with having the anime show him again, and Foxy, so probably nothing planned there. I assumed they'll get some sort of cameo at least for a panel in the final war.
Really? Cuz most people say the Arlong park arc is what really got them into the series.
Arlong Park isn't then entirety of East Blue. There's like 70 chapters before that, and a chunk of that is kind of uneven. I love the character Usopp became, and I dig Kuro, but before he pulled out those claws that was a rough arc to deal with and he was a terrible villain with a stupid glasses adjusting quirk before that reveal. (That made me love him though.) And to this day, it doesn't matter how cool the Mihawk entrance is or how good Sanji and Zeff's flashback, Krieg completely and utterly bores me as a villain and threat and I can't deal with his arc at all.
-
Special epilogue chapter that's just the East Blue villains having a support group meeting.
-
Gin promised to meet Sanji again so he's maybe still going to randomly show up at some point, and if he does, maybe we'll get to see Cyborg Krieg-9000 who has been upgrade by Vegapunk.
I actually like that idea. I don't know which I would like more though, if Krieg keeps a bit of his personality or if he loses it completely like Kuma. The benefits of erasing his personality is that the WG could fully control him. If there's any benefit to keeping his personality is that I see him being able to use his new found powers to maximum efficiency as far as "extermination" of enemies is concerned. But then again, he would turn on the WG immediately unless not he's not controlled like Ceasar was when everyone had his heart.
-
I think its probably an Absalom situation, where Oda cares a little less about the character and might be willing to use an old character to make a new point, that doesn't require keeping the old personality around. (I still expect the "dead" Absalom to reappear with a new shadow… old design, less rapey personality.)
That said his Krieg-9000 concept was from BEFORE Krieg actually appeared and he decided to not have him be a robot then... but it always seemed like the obvious upgrade path after we met Franky and Kuma, rather than just throwing out another devil fruit upgrade... and I can't imagine Krieg being a Haki master, so....
-
Dunno, if there was anything ol krieg had it was ambition and willpower. He seems like a guy who'd eventually develop haki
-
What? Krieg broke down.
When Zoro was defeated by Mihawk he let out all of his feelings and decided to train harder. When Mihawk defeated Krieg he ran away crying. He would need some special class to even touch the basics of haki.
-

Didn't gin have to knock him out to stop his willpower from powering his broken body forward? He never seemed weak willed to me
-
I guess, but I see that scene more as Don Krieg going mad, not brave.
For comparission, Luffy went all out in the war facing many opponents stronger than him, and when he broke down after it he really broke down, he wasn't trying to prove he was strong just because.I look at Gin and his actions as someone more haki "worthy", someone with a better view/understanding of the world.
-
To Krieg's credit, he did try to attack Mihawk when the latter was about to leave, even after everything that happened to his crew. So at the very least he's no coward.
-
Of course I do. I never stopped it. It's just that back then the changes in OP kinda took away a lot of the passion I had for the series. And to be honest I think it never has gotten back on track but it do think that it has it's moment and actually can even be great here and there. The thing is that because of that I really don't read the chapters in a same way I used to do before so I do tend to oversee a lot of detail every now and then which is a pity I think. Also sometimes I really don't get what actually is going on so having a place to clear up the confusion would be helpful, so I figured I could come back^^
Seems like a fair enough point. I really wonder if the entire Kimetsu no Yaiba thing will actually get some of the higher ups thinking that even a big manga like One Piece could actually benefit from having a good anime adaption. Wishful thinking I know.
I'm in the camp that feels post-ts One Piece has been steadily increasing in quality. It's only natural, we've been steadily building towards a massive dual conclusion even since Fishman Island. While I don't necessarily support Oda's decision to make ALL of the New World so far a very long-game build up – I think some of the most crucial years for the manga are the next 2, because if Wano's conclusion is a grand slam, which I believe it will be given Oda just recently wrote 967 so he very much has still "got it", it's going to retroactively make a lot of the NW better, for me, personally.
I think all Oda had to do was have a NW version of Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, Drum, etc. and my complaints about post-ts would shrink drastically. Pack them with interesting environments, good SH interactions talking about their adventures and just vibing. Oda had the perfect opportunity to do it between FI and PH and he should've.
The series is messy now, for sure. But everything I like about it is still there, just some elements like Chopper have been damaged.

Oh definitely agree that Oda still has "got it" but in just doesn't compare to pre-timeskip IMO. I'm not saying pre-timeskip was perfect. There have been parts I didn't find good and critisized back then too but there's more of those moments post-timeskip and some were really low points for me.

Pre-ts was very tightly packed, I think that had a lot to do with it.
W7/EL was just a continuous onslaught of back to back good moments. Like W7 started RIGHT with an admiral battle and had an immediate strong hook with Robin's darkness. I don't think we'll ever get something like that arc again, though I do think we will certainly hit higher highs, as much as some may doubt that. I have a theory that the flag burning moment from EL was meant for later in the series, but Oda did it early because Skypiea's sales were low iirc, so he played some of his best cards early.I would argue pre-ts was very very close to perfect. :P
But once Wano's over I think a lot of people will see what Oda's been going for. He's been putting a LOT of things on the backburner, and a lot of them have to come to fruition this arc.

I still wonder if were ever gonna get to see Rocks D Xebec in real time or just in a flashback, it'd be cool if he was still around
also I wonder what his devil fruit is? Wouldn't be surprised if it had something to do with earth bending based on his name

I would also like to see Xebec alive. At the very least, as a Vegapunk's cyborg.
He was the stronger rival of Roger, right? We need to learn more about him, and hopefully Luffy will fight against him someway or another.
-
Yeah and Blackbeard will fight against Roger. He never died. His soul lived on in the dreams of the people.:ninja:
-
If Xebec is alive, he was at the bottom of Impel Down, and that's why Blackbeard had to go get him to ask some things. I never bought the "let me get 5 random silver medalists" excuse, and someone else relevant has to have escaped from there, or else Oda would just have folded all escapees into the Ivankov, Buggy, Croc and Blackbeard groups, to reduce the moral impact of Luffy's breakout, and he wouldn't have brought it back up with that Cactus headed bounty hunter on dressrosa.
Having said that, Xebec sounds like he was already old-ish, to have the reckless baby emperors follow him, and to be able to cull the pirate population so no other big shot of that age remained outside his influence, but that was only 38 years ago.
Interestingly, according to the wiki, it is the same year when Hiriluk arrives at Drum, and it was the year after Roger got to the end of the grand line (not Laughtale) the first time.
-
A BOUNTY HUNTER!? On the canon manga?

He clearly said to Rayleigh that he wasn't going to die. :ninja:

BB and zoro are like the best bounty hunters and they are not even Bounty hunters. But in NW there is even no point, with how large the yonkou crews are, and the new crews joining yonkous to survive, Bounty hunters would need some large crews to try anything with yonkous. If oda was going to do anything with Bounty hunters, it would be pre ts.
-
There are multiple examples of characters infiltrating Yonko crews. If bounty hunters wanted to do that and destroy from the inside, it wouldn't be impossible. Pirates go at it a lot.
-

We've also got to learn what exactly he was after at God Valley with the rest of the Rocks Pirates, and why Garp would go so far as to team up with Roger to stop them
-
I wonder whether some of those Impel Down criminals who joined BB, were former Rock pirates. Sengoku could only name a few in his lecture of history to drill the gist of it.

I checked the Vivre Cards for the 4 of them:
Devon: 36
Shot: 38
Pizarro: 42
Wolf: 99So, nope, only Wolf could have possibly been one.

Does anyone know of a livestream of Greg’s or possibly an episode of the One Piece Podcast where he discusses the process of making the Luffy Ace and Sabo figures?
-
So far we only know that Chopper DF is Hito Hito no Mi, but never knew which model is unlike Sengoku is same type of DF but stated Model Daibutsu.
is there any possibility that Chopper DF got any special model of?
by looking at the Chopper human form, is not so much HUMANE to me. And his Monster Point, more likely is his DF Zoan pre-awakened form.
