@Kaiolino:
Here's a good article about how shitty young millenials are: http://www.vox.com/2016/9/21/12963334/clinton-millennial-problem
Yeah not really a good article, study, or an accurate statement.
So they polled and found that the older "millenials" that grew up with the Bush presidency tended to vote Democrat and support the party, which makes sense considering many would be old enough to understand the effects of his presidency, possibly had friends and family go into the wars and get swept up in the '08 election. Compared to how Hillary is not performing as well with younger millenials who are either first or second time voters.
…Which makes sense. If you're some 18 year old fresh out of high school who's never voted, has no interest in politics and only sees stuff on Facebook or Twitter which is covered in blatant nonsense lies (often posted BY Trump) about things like Hillary's health, or turn on the news and see a reality host lying about his businesses or what's he's said without people calling him out or fact checking him...then yes she's going to poll badly.
Less to do with "shitty millenials", more to do with Hillary not knowing how to approach and deal with younger voters sucked into the bullshit by the loudest voice, which just happens to be an "entertaining" orange thing making period jokes.
Her campaign is right in how they're slamming Trump on his bigotry and behavior that will get the country nuked. However, she needs to approach a demographic that is more likely to have incorrect info about her, and instead of simply stating "Trumps a racist because X, I've done Y to help youth in the past" she needs to actually confront the dumb, ridiculous shit and dispel it. I would give her major props if she got on a stage and made a joke about her "body double" or Trump supporters all being M.D.'s since they all seem to know she's dying. Then confront the fact that people and media can spread misinformation and that it is the voters responsibility to research candidates and make the right choice for the country.
She needs to get on a stage and explain "Hey, even if you don't like me I'll fight for your rights, but you need to get your local Democrats into office" and then explain the importance of that.
Is it her responsibility to do that? No. But when you have a demographic that is given so little accurate political information in school and from media, is truly unfamiliar with a candidate other than what gets shared on Facebook, and the other candidate is shooting blindly in the dark tweeting whatever hoping it gets a vote...then yeah you're going to see misinformed voters vote for Trump.
So yeah, I would say it's not so much the "shitty young millenials", it's the campaign that from the beginning has not known how to attract the youth and is now losing it because they let misinformation spread.
