Dang, even the find-the-key plot point is being rehashed. Aside from that, love the chapter. Sanji and Luffy/Nami are both stuck in situations that look impossible unless someone intervenes. I'm hoping they go through withthe marriage, it would lead to some interesting story development.

Someone pointed this out on another forum. Seems like Pudding made up the fact she met Sanji before. Evil 3-eyed Pudding incoming.
Yeah she made it up as it seems. Something is fishy…
And maybe Sanji knows it and that's why she is playing her as well... Dunno
-
Yes,that third eye is what is holding up mystery of Pudding.
-
@The:
Well, Oda did state this (almost finished) year as the Year of Sanji, not to mention this is an arc that's centered around him. It's understandable why people want some Mr. Prince moments to remember.
Personally, I wish this was the Year of Jinbei.:ninja:
Funny enough Jinbei showing up and going missing for many chapters is a Mr Prince like scenario. :ninja:

But she didn't make it up. Sanji's sister confirmed it.

Welp, Luffy truly is a special kind of stupid. He's really gunna fight Bobbin and his entire army and get him and Nami captured. The only logical way he gets out of this one is a huge asspull. He doesn't even have the strength to go gear 4 or nothing. Next chapter, I guarantee he's in shackles.
Also Sanji doesn't have a plan because it's impossible to make a move without getting his hands blown off or getting Zeff killed. This is one dire situation and something absolutely crazy is going to happen to bail out Sanji and Luffy.
What will it be?
-
That hat though.
We all knew Luffy was fucked but I didn't expect his reckoning to start so soon.
Throwing Pekoms name out there for the one to help out Luffy.
-

Would be nice to have Jimbei have some Mr Fish action.
-
Sex in One Piece is a peculiar thing, isn't it?
I noticed that as well, I mean people were squirming over Viola and Doffy doing it but now we have Big Mom and her possible dwarf husband. Big Mom is the queen of sluts.
-
Dang, even the find-the-key plot point is being rehashed.
Honestly, most arcs since Alabasta had a find/deliver the key subplot if you look hard enough.

They are pretty much there to kill him for good.
-
The One Piece will be a key.
-

Idk about that. When his sister mentions Pudding, Sanji doesn't say anything. Makes me wonder if he even met her.

Reiju talks in a way that does imply they've met before (she's asking for Sanji's opinion on her personality).
"Isn't Pudding such a sweetheart, though?"
Sanji's silence seems more like he agrees, but doesn't want to. I dunno where this distrustful Pudding stuff is coming from.
-

I really don't get the big deal behind that. Yes, rape and sex with your oppressor is pretty fucked up, but isn't mass enslavement and genocide worse than all of those thing. I just don't understand our world: sex, which most of the time, is a positive act for both parties involved is viewed more negative than murder or even genocide, which is most of the time, bad for both parties involved. Things just don't make fucking sense (pardon the pun).
-

they behave like theey already knew each other,so it's pretty much set in stone (but it already has been so for a long time) that pudding told the truth
-
Poor helpless Sanji, how can life be so cruel?
-
We've seen the big hat lady before too: http://www.mangapanda.com/one-piece/827/17
My original theory was that she may be a commander, but I guess not. Seem her and Bobbins are a tier below. Probably similar to Pekoms and such

WTF is this chapter I really did not understand the ending scenes like why was pudding all of a sudden willing to marry Sanji stating that their marriage will not be a disaster instead of planning or telling him ways to get the keys for the cuffs and some other resort to diplomatically handle the situation or something in that regard. As for Sunkist I am thoroughly disgusted by him holy shit there's luffy fighting there against an army and this niqqa says he has no ally's and is so hopeless and acting like a pussy that is drown in despair I cant believe I am looking at Black leg Sanji. After all he has been through with the crew this shit he is acting is so faking annoying and a complete 180 from his character. He could devise a plan to inform Zeff to hide or something, try to find keys to the cuffs, team up with Luffy run if they have to on the entire island till they get a getaway but no instead he wants to act like a grade A emo prince. The only awesome things about this arc are the art and the diverse characters as well as the whole setting of WCI and Big Mom's crew and her are very well done.
-
With things getting intense so quickly, one can wonder when are Ceaser, Jinbe, Pedro, and Capone's plotlines going to get the spotlight.
I can understand people being disappointed that Sanji is right now damsel in distress, but also the point behind people defending him, how can someone stand against a situation like this?
The problem lying here is that we were indirectly promised by Sanji that he has a plan in mind, unlike Robin, Sanji's note to the Strawhats was saying that he'll return soon.
@Woodstock:I thought it was a comment made by one of the sons. Could definitely be wrong, hard to tell.
I think it's probably said by the little girl with a bow in the same panel.
-
-
I saw someone point out some mirrors in the room Sanji and Pudding are in. He'll probably meet Chobro and Carrot there.

I don't think you can blame him, due to the fact that everything has been stacked against him and he's at risk at losing everything precious to him.

about not having a ally, he obviously was talking about other people other than his crew
-
So Luffy out here waiting for Sanji like Seymour waiting for Fry
-
@BlaZing http://mangastream.com/r/one_piece/845/3771/14
Even Sanji admits "he doesn't have a single ally he can count on". He knows Luffy can't do anything to Big Mom or to save Zeff. He can't "count on" him hence why he told them to leave. Face it, Luffy isn't strong enough to help him. I would actually say the strawhats coming here made his situation even worse. Now he has to protect them too as he said he is going to talk to Big Mom to let them go.
Luffy's current actions are honestly rather selfish and stupid, he is putting Nami in unnecessary danger. And then what will chopper, carrot, brooke, and pedro do if they die? They are very, very lucky BigMom, Katakuri, and Smoothie didn't show up with the army. They could easily become additional hostages to use against Sanji. I would also be shocked if the sunny hasn't been taken already, it's been over 24 hours since they left it alone.

i don't think you have the entire situation clear in your mind
-
It doesn't mean Oda won't set him up in a position to pull some stratagems when the time comes. Yes, I realize his situation is currently hopeless, but that doesn't mean circumstances won't allow for the long awaited return of bad ass Sanji (Its the year of Sanji after all), something we haven't truly seen since Saobaody.
I'm so hoping this will happen. And even though the chances are slim now, if you think that when Luffy says he'll do something he always ends up doing it for real, then he won't move an inch from that place and Sanji will return by his own will to a starving and exhaust Luffy, saving him instead of the other way around. There's still the time of a day for him to change idea about the marriage, if he isn't playing it, and if he manage to steal the keys for the wristlets with Pudding's and maybe Chopper and Carrot help then the only problem left would be Zeff. Now if Sanji only managed to make up his mind and to find a new resolve, remembering Luffy words at the Baratie "this isn't what he saved you for", he would be ready to risk Zeff life and to bet on his nakama.
There's something about this arc for which i really have to give credit to Oda, this time, differently from any other arc except for the summit war, we really have no idea how the hell things are going to turn out. Big Mom will never let it go if they escape like that, she'll have Zeff killed immediatly, and i can't see a negotiation happen either, she doesn't seem the type of pirate willing to negotiate from what we saw at Fishaman Island, she's selfish and spoiled just like one would expect from a pirate yonkou. But the chance of victory against her seems even more slim. About the latter possibility the only cards on which we can bet are Capone's secret scheme, Jinbe, Pedro's crew in disguise in Totland, and Lola's vivre card which, though being the only hope for Luffy now, will probably be useless if Big Mom would impart a direct order to the homies.

The last few pages were quite lovely.
I for one think I'd be great if the wedding went through and Sanji married Pudding. I believe it would do wonders for his character.

This post is deleted!

I wanna see more of that daughter with the massive hat!
She reminds me of internet creppy pasta memes. Like a slenderman or a character from that OFF game.

Chopper and Brook should show up in the castle anytime now.

First post im putting up here, to chip in my own bit concerning the story thus far. I've read alot of the opinions and comments going about here, much to enjoyment and inspiration to come along and partake.
Although One Piece has not done much to keep me invested in the story as far as the Anime goes with its sluggish 1 Chapter per Episode style over the past years, the manga still keeps up its impression. Ever since I jumped to the manga, I took it upon myself to read every single page of the manga all over (good lord without the weekly pause) and currently we have been jumping locations for quite a bit, much more so than the previous arcs. Sanji finally gives in to the wedding and shows concern as well as affection for Pudding, that she would be his saviour there and onwards embraces deep feelings. Ever since he left to rejoin with his family has earnestly been an expansion to Sanjis character. Unlike every strawhat in the past story, he is threatened into playing along as a seal for an alliance between parties that by merit should be his enemies. On penalty of his hands and his father figure, as well as the active attention of the Unholy Alliance against the Strawhats, the only people he had considered friends.
His predicament is different, if only for the threat against Zeff, someone too far to protect. Someone told me Zeff would be fine even when pitted with hitmen hired specifically to kill him, because he mentored Sanji's kicking skills. Yeah, mentored as in supervised their growth. Zeff himself can put up decent kicks, but as the Baratie Arc so clearly shows us, he could be ambushed by Gin. The Question thus likely lingering in Sanji's mind is whether Zeff has any real chance against someone handpicked, actually out to kill him with Sanji nowhere around as opposed to the time with Gin. The doubt he feels from the threat is further cemented by the oppressive air from his family, then the intrusive interruption by his friends. With Sanji so out of it, the choices he has made have been exemplary. He got across to expressing to Luffy how he feels, absolutely devestated as Luffy well pointed out. Words needed not be said, Sanji's situation had changed dramatically from the time Nami last saw him to the present moment. Nami saw through the facade, as did Luffy. Trying to predict what Nami and Luffy will do onwards inspires me.
So questions for future chapters too will change as they come out. My first question though for you mates- Will the rest of the strawhats relinquish their current missions and hear Luffy, come to his side if he calls them to Whole Cake for a massive showdown with Big Mom? Will Sanji find a way out or learn to accept there are things he cant do and trust in himself to commit to his own choice, no matter the outcome?
Nami has a few pararell dilemmas she has faced that crosses with Sanji's predicament, maybe she can put the right words in? Usually its Luffy, who knows for sure? -
I know i will sound annoying to some, but doesn’t Sanji make a ’i got an idea’ face after hearing Pudding ? Or he is just astonished she is kind to him despite his horrible face
-
Really great chapter, I don't think they'll get married in the end though as its really just a last resort and Sanji will always be a pervert.
-
Still waiting for more Jinbe… Want to know what Zeus and Prometheus are... Still bet Nami will get them as allies
We are shown what they are quite clearly. They are the 2 hommies which are always next to Big Mum. What is it that does not satisfy you in this explanation ?
-

Looks like one to me
-
I hope Sanji gets married and Purin joins! her and Jinbe both joining this arc wouldn't be too bad. This is a perfect time for Jimbe to show up.
-

Are you serious? A sun and a cloud and you call them homies? It was never stated that they are homies after all
-
i believe that Jimbe will be the one to initiate some sort of counter measure it this situation
Sanji might be able to help in a possible counter attack, rather than stand there waiting to be saved, but i don't think he will initiate this process, but let's see, one of the good things about this arc is that i have no idea about how things will play out
-
Wow, this early in the arc and shit has already hit the fan. I can't wait to see what happens next. I really hope Sanji and Pudding do marry even if it may not be official because I'm sure the wedding will most definitely be crashed. They seem so happy around each other. I think it would be an interesting dynamic for Sanji, once he continues on his journey with the crew; I wonder if he'll be his old pervy self knowing he has a wife to return to once everything ends.
-

It might be, even though it's still more likely he was just impressed by her. Moreover his words when he say: "You… are my only "savior" right now" (speaking of which, why MS put savior inside the inverted commas? how was it written in japanese? maybe Oda was hinting at something there) could also be interpreted as, "you're the only one who can help me to get out of this mess". It's a bit of a stretch, but who knows?
-

The leaks used the word "salvation" so I don't think savior is too far off the mark. Would be interested to know the Japanese word used.

Do we need to every thing with a face to be adressed as Homie to be confirmed as a Homie?
-
I'm not gonna lie: A lot of Sanji's and Pudding's dialogue felt like spanish soap opera. At this point however, I sort of doubt Pudding is malicious. I just don't see any reason to believe that, and the whole ''you never said you wanted to marry me'' shit, feels a lot more like a mistake on Oda's part than obvious foreshadowing. From a storytelling perspective, it's quite a stretch to go from that to "Pudding was evil all along!!".
-
Btw has the potential connection between Puddin and 3x3 eyes been discussed at some point?
-
Epic chapter, great army going for Luffy, the sense of danger has increased a tonfold imo.
Sanji seems to be decided to accept his sad fate, and I loved his interaction with Pudding. He seems desperate, but it's nothing new actually, it reminds me of several situations (Robin trying to leave the crew is the closest) so I don't get why the people doesn't understand the situation.
Love the design of some of the Mama's commanders!
-
I don't know what I think about the direction Oda chose with Sanji, but one thing is sure
That last panel with Sanji and Pudding scream is straight a tragic romance poster and I love it.
-
Oh what ever will happen. Is the fat whale shark revolutionary army on the move?
Or has someone hired Buggy's dial and we'll rampage service.
