Well alright, if you say so.
I look at how WCI ended, so yeah not trusting him with stuff regarding Sanji.

His crew doesn't even know the details of what happened to him, as Sanji never told them. All you got now is the typical suspects who love cool things, Luffy and Chopper, unsurprisingly wanting him to put on the suit. Big whoop. That's not a crime on their part, especially since Sanji never went into detail about his past.
And Judge/Niji giving him the suit essentially symbolizes that all for their bluster post-870, they no longer see him as one. Being handed a raid suit is a big deal, regardless of whether Sanji actually ends up using it, this act solidifies that Sanji never needed to do one last big thing to gain his family's respect before the arc ended. It's just that they'll never admit it with words, at least not anytime soon. I don't really care if Sanji uses it or not, and obviously understand why some are instinctively against the thought of it happening. But at the same time, again, Oda clearly isn't just handwaving it away, as shown by Sanji's current feelings concerning his family.
If people are thinking that it's impossible for Oda to have Sanji go down this route and have it be executed well when all is said and done, clearly Oda feels differently.
As you said his crew doesn't know the details, which is why I feel if they did they wouldn't be so for him wearing the suit.
The suit goes a lot against what Sanji has said about him not needing them and not being a vinsmoke, and being ashamed of what they stand for. So for him to wear their uniform really steps on those words. And then it's like what did he even train for when in the end he has to resort to their technology? May as well have just stayed with them instead of Zeff then.
Sanji probably will wear it, but that's the bad part. The chance of Oda executing this well is zero. He's most likely going to just wave off their crimes and have Sanji forgive them or spin it in some way that him wearing it is not a bad thing.
Maybe people shouldn't jump to conclusions and see how Oda handles the raid suit. The way some of you guys are acting, it's as if Oda didn't make it clear that he still detests his family.
Yet his crew is encouraging him to wear it, ignoring everything that family has done to him. And when he does it wear it cause he's "forced to in order to save someone", how does that make all his training look when in the end he needs to resort to using the suit of the family he hates? So Judge was right about his technology and Sanji being a failure then?
Sanji hasn't lost the "Black Leg" epithet. They don't put "Strawhat Luffy" on the wanted posters, they put "Monkey D. Luffy". All that happened is that they tacked on the Vinsmoke name to "Sanji", which got all the focus for plot reasons.
As to the raid suit itself, we don't know what's going to come of it yet, and Sanji's vehement distaste for his father's work seems pretty evident in the chapter itself. Until we're shown otherwise, I'm leaning toward Usopp and Franky dismantling the thing to harvest it for new tech.
Characters may start referring to him as Vinsmoke instead of Black Leg from now on, as that's a more famous name in the New World.
I'm also disappointed in how Oda still hasn't told the crew a thing about what the vinsmokes have done to him and now the crew is encouraging him to use it. Like would Nami still be saying anything if she knew Judge killed his mom? I feel like these details and their crimes have been ignored by Oda and he's just trying to paint the vinsmokes as heroic because of their 1 good deed ever since the tea party.
Sanji getting a raid suit really belittles everything the vinsmokes have done to him. He's going to wear the suit made by the man that killed his mother? The brothers that tortured him daily? It completely destroys his character and goes against the original message of Sanji not needing them.
People are saying he will have to use it when someones in danger, yet all that training he did for 12 years of his life, and instead has to resort to a suit from the family he hates as a reminder that he isn't strong enough without their help. Plus he loses his epithet that connects him to Zeff. Talk about destroying a character.
Maybe Akainu should send his uniform to Luffy and have Luffy wear that too. Or have Arlong send his Hawaiian shirt to Nami.
There is one good thing in Sanji letting the vinsmokes die. Cosette will no longer have to live a life of abuse by the vinsmokes. I'm sure she would be glad to offer 1 month of her soul each year instead which is the better outcome. Same applies to the rest of the Germa country.
They bought food on Cacao Island when they first arrived there.
Did they? I remember them immediately encountering Pudding and then heading back with a missing Pekoms. Seems silly to also go grocery shopping during an undercover mission.
@.access:
I think what BM destroyed was the aquarium/bar. Then she started sawing the kitchen, but Nami diverted her attention because Carrot was resting in the kitchen… I think.
The entrance to the aquarium seems fine now, though.
I meant when Luffy set it on fire/blew it up when he was cooking. He also wasted all their food supplies.
Well Puddings feelings were unrequited anyways but she will use this experience to move on. Surprised she got forgiven for everything she did so easily though.
Vinsmokes, Sun pirates, and Germa about to die. Nice job strawhats.
Speaking of strawhats, wasn't their kitchen destroyed and their food ran out? How did Sanji cook anything?
And let's see if Oda has the balls to kill Zeff. Someone's head needs to roll and aside from Jimbe, his should have the most impact.
@Long:
The cake had to be as good as streusen's and besides that Sanji detected the entire ingredient list by scent alone and at various times stopped the production from being disrupted; like when Oven Grabbed Chiffon. Without him it's very likely they don't capture the essence of the cake and big mom runs after them a lot earlier.
Without him the cake wouldn't have satiate her. If the taste didn't need to be >= streusens cake they could have just made any wedding cake
The taste only benefits Big Mom, Her Territory, and Her Crew. The taste did not distract her from the strawhats, she did not taste it back then. The taste has so far only powered her up to continue her chase and now she wants Luffys soul.
