I'm more pleased that it seems like they're taking their time with this one, with no indication it's being rushed out the door like most licensed games. Looks like this one is getting some polish before the release date.

RE: Chapter 889: An Unknown Mama
Definitely a lot of unanswered questions about Daifuku's power. Like, how much of a will of its own does it the genie have? And if it's a genie, shouldn't it be able to grant wishes or have some sort of magics or powers other than flight? It does seem like it should do more than it has.

RE: One Piece World Seeker (PS4, Open World(?), 2018)
Since the game itself is clearly early beta, I think it looks good, but am hoping for the following
-More islands that just that one. I'm hoping that is a "starter" island as it seems very basic for the most part aside from the potential interior and is a relatively bland setting given how rich the One Piece world is.
-Tweaking the graphics to look more like One Piece style
-Large enemy variety
-A good amount of canon One Piece elements. Characters, items, enemies, etc.
-More RPG elements of Luffy acting like Luffy. He seems a bit too serious from what we've seen.
-At least one other playable character, and if not, the crew should have a decent screentime.I am in the understanding that some of these things will probably be addressed in the inevitable sequel, especially the playable characters.

RE: 817: ''Wet Cigarette - The Eve of Sanji's Marriage''
How many SHs actually DID get a fight that was neither one-sided (in either side) nor ended prematurely after the TS? I think it's Luffy and Franky. I treat it as yet another sign of growing OP's Luffy-centrism. One that doesn't bother me as much as the others since fights were always the element I cared least about in this series. That's why I can fully enjoy things like Brook vs BM or Pedro vs Tamago as I'd likely get bored if they were shown in full.
I'm definitely not bothered by it at this point, since it seems clear that the series is moving away from straight on classic dueling to some degree (in other words long, protracted dueling). Luffy does because he must, but otherwise the crew does not have to get assigned designated villains to one-on-one with anymore. It still happens occasionally, but it is more exceptional now. Instead, the series is focusing on getting other non-Straw Hats time to shine and the SHs are doing more back-up and teamwork than before, as are the villains.

RE: Warning: "MangaStream" is using mining script in their page
@HTC:
So says the mining blocker addon i'm using with firefox 57.
This is just a heads up!
Only noticed it today: hadn't notice it before.
I usually read One Piece (and others) from MangaStream's. Went to check if new manga had been released and … surprise ... mining script blocked ...
Which addon is this?

RE: Hajime no Ippo
Takamura's is only invincible when he's fighting cans and as his last fight demonstrated he's starting to have problems even with them. As for shifting focus squarely to him unless Morikawa decides to make Takamura stop acting like a douche don't see that going over well.
I is much more believable that Takamura, Sendo, or Miyata will get their own spin-off. This way, Takamura's character can be tweaked a bit to not be a bit easier to get behind, like Ippo retiring makes him get his shit kinda together and a little less of an ass to justify it. A spin-off also gives a chance for a different author or editor to continue the mantle of the HnI saga to an end, because…..people do like the side characters too and their stories aren't over and too much time has been devoted to them otherwise to just grind their stories to a halt.
It would be very awkward to keep the Ippo title if there is a spin-off. There would have to be a name change to some extent.
At this point, Ippo's story should be an epilogue of sorts. I can envision, maybe, Ippo retires for a while then takes another crack at the world stage. But that would be a very poor development (would Kamagawa even allow it?). Ippo should be done at this point. He promised he would to Kumi and he told himself in the ring it was his last. And he lost the fight on top of it.
The only other development that could happen is a time skip and that the punk drunk effects were cured some how but....really?
@Yuugi's:
Chances are we'll get Takamura's next fight, where he slaughters this poor chump with a single punch, too.
Completely forgot about that. Yeah, doesn't seem like the time to drag out a Taka fight.

RE: Hajime no Ippo
Just read these chapters and all I can think was
….holy shit
I mean this batch not only confirms that Ippo himself knows he is punch drunk and is willing to retire, but he loses his final bout to a relative nobody.
My respect for this series soared after this. I mean, this goes completely against shounen convention.
Okay, maybe, MAYBE Ippo will have another comeback like Joe did in Ashita no Joe, but Joe never gave up boxing kept going
Ippo, on the other hand, has a life and a future outside of boxing. He's not like Joe whose whole being was the glove. Ippo will want to retire after this. Not only that, he already promised he would retire.
Now the big question is.....is this the end of the series? Ippo is the TITLE character and on the cover of every single volume. Can the author really continue with someone like Takamura, who is virtually invincible? What would be the point? We would already assume he would win and if not, it would not mean much because his dream was nigh impossible anyway.
If this is the end, then I cannot wait for an anime and an anime continuation is almost assured.

RE: Chapter 886 : This Ish The Way I Live
I think it's a little ironic that they're saying this about Oven's CoO when like immediately beforehand he got completely blind-sighted by Sanji's attack.
One could argue that he did notice Sanji's attack, but Sanji moved too fast for him to react.

RE: Chapter 886 : This Ish The Way I Live
I find it very entertaining how Oda deliberately makes this very morally grey character, Bege, unabashedly the one we are rooting despite twice attempting to execute Pekoms (once in the back) and Oven being ethically in the right from his POV. Well, aside from that distasteful decision to use his wife as a hostage to draw Bege out.
Also the title panel itself with Pez is both heartwarming and a little messed up.
Which begs the question–will Bege allow Oven to live if/when he saves Chiffon? If this weren't One Piece, I wouldn't expect Oven to walk away from this, given that it would still be in-character for Bege to execute him after he was soundly beaten with Sanji's help. Though maybe Bege will still go to town on him.

RE: Chapter 886 : This Ish The Way I Live
I really liked this chapter. It also looks like Sanji isn't done with Oven. I know it isn't popular for a character to help through sneak attacks, but I would love it if Sanji helped Bege win through underhanded means. It would add a bit of realism to the situation in which the mission and saving Chiffon & the Firetanks is more important than his pride and recognition
Also, this chapter seems to imply Oven having heightened CoO given that he found Chiffon right away after she was taken away and hidden. Does this mean he might see through Sanji's disguise if he gets a better chance?
As far as Jinbe & Co, I am guessing they are about to fight the Smoothie armada givne Jinbe's line about getting ready to fight and the allusion to the full moon. Again, implies a major brawl will be brewing with them too.
The Luffy decision is going to be controversial to some, mostly because it is a very Goku-esque decision–choosing to fight the strongest dudes in order to surpass them. However, this IS something Goku has done in the past and he has declared "I WILL SURPASS YOU!" at least a few times in the past. Again, realizing he needs to treat fights like training. The only difference here is that it is haki he is planning to hone.
This itself may be a good development because we may finally get concrete answers on each type of haki and how it works.
