They'll either impeach in 2017 or 2019. Not during a midterms year.

Marches around the world.
Awesome turnouts, very uplifting.

The best and worst pic of the bunch. -
Isn't impeachment only for criminal charges? I don't think you can impeach someone just because you don't like them or you think they're "unfit".
Everyone from the general left, and apparently the Republican congress can tell that Trump stinks to high heaven and is going to either have horrible scandals emerge, or have fresh new ones happened in some fashion within the next four years.
How you are still a wide eyed cherub that doesn't see a complete and total sleazeball when you look at that man is fucking bewildering. -
-
It's called impeachment and like someone posted last page the GOP ain't gonna do shit until they get what they want and then they will put all the blame on Trump even though they are the ones drafting all the bills
Actually the 25th amendment details the process for removing a president for being unfit for the office outside of impeachment, like if he lost his mind (an inevitability for the manbaby in the Oval Office). Unfortunately, it requires support from both the vice-president and a majority of the cabinet. While I can see Pence stabbing Trump in the back if it meant the throne, I can't imagine most of the other yahoos on board doing the same.
-

How you are still a wide eyed cherub that doesn't see a complete and total sleazeball when you look at that man is fucking bewildering.Let me know when there is an actual impeachment proceeding happening, monkeyman. Until then you can talk about how he "is going to either have horrible scandals emerge, or have fresh new ones happened". If we already have impeachable offences then I expect within the next couple weeks, or sooner, to have the process start. And I'll support it for any legitimate impeachable offences.
I mean there's this, posted a page or two ago
https://www.impeachdonaldtrumpnow.org/
But maybe a Change.org page would work better.
-
Christ, Boston Common was crazy. Over 120,000 people showed up. Yay!
-

The problem being, the people in charge of such things, are the ones that benefit from him being there.
And as willing as they are to do nasty crap on a local level, they know how bad it would look for both the party, and america in general, if their guy was taken out within a week. It would come across as an overthrow. That would be admitting that they knew he was awful and unqualified and still let it through despite the multiple stopgaps that were available.
They won't take action until its a clear problem. If and when they decide to do so, they can drop just about anything to take him out, there's already plenty there. People in government obviously have access to his taxes, someone knows exactly what horrible things are on them and has chosen to not reveal them. So that's likely a bombshell waiting to drop.
(Also, its to their advantage to have Trump as a scapegoat… and for Pence to not take over till at least two years in to sneak past term limits and after midterms and a supreme court justice.) If Trump is booted out before midterms in two years that pisses off his crazy base.
Also don't want to set up a precedent that can be used against you in the future. Would be bad if any potential future president could be declared unfit a week in.
Barring something coming up from investigations thats just SO huge it has to be rushed through. Like absolutely provable evidence that he collabortated with Russia caught on tape or the blackmail actually becomes public or something.
I mean hell, they dragged Clinton through impeachment hearings for a year because he got a blow job.
Meanwhile, guys who have actually sold state secrets like Petraeus and admitted to it are being let into positions of power.... so...

By the way since rafsanjani died if trump cancels the deal there is nobody in supreme leaders way

When they say Korea-like protests surely they don't mean NK….and I hope they don't mean SK which apparently is justified.

@Mr.:
Back from the march/rally. Couldn't really hear all of what the speakers said because there were so many people there! Apparently 1.2 MILLION. So many people of all types coming together and walking by the Trump Hotel giving it the finger on the way back. Never been prouder of my country.
Probably around that much worldwide but definitely not in D.C. alone. Washington D.C. was packed though! I was around the Chinatown area and it was pretty full, more than usual, and even though it was starting to get dark there were still pink hats everywhere. Too bad I got out the movies too late but I did take some pics.
A gate filled with protestors signs.

[hide][/hide]And best of all. I found Don's John's!!! XD
[hide][/hide]Hundred's and possibly thousands of people peed in these things but I'm Donald Trump had no problem with that. -
"We're Gonna Have To Science the Shit Out of This!"
-
Hey, apparently that march broke a world record. I think that's neat. History has been made today.
-
Trump just told the CIA that the pictures of yesterday's inauguration were fake despite being taken by the government (and having time stamps) and that there are way less people at the women's march in DC.
Oh and Trump's pick for the CIA just openly came out and said he would bring back waterbording and other cases of torture

I've been YouTubing the welcoming to the White House of the First Family going back twenty-five years, and each and every President escorts his wife up the stairs to represent our country as a unit. Today, Donald Trump left his wife in the car. Watch it again. He doesn't even hesitate. He makes a b-line to singular power. In his wife's most public moment, he leaves her behind. In his wife's HISTORY MAKING moment of becoming the first immigrant to become First Lady of the United States of America, he leaves her in the car. I want everyone to sit on those seemingly insignificant sixty seconds and think about what they represent. Consider what it means for all women in this country. This wasn't an accident or a miscommunication. It's who he is.
What a cannuklehead.
-
Yeah eventually Mitch the Magic Turtle will decide that this turd is more trouble than he's worth and pinch him off. We haven't had a president this fucking unpopular not two days into office in living memory.
-
The 22nd Amendment is Trump's best protection right now though I could easily see him becoming so toxic to their 2018 chances that they cut their losses and throw a potential second term for Mike Pence under the bus.
-
If the delayed healthcare repeal plans are anything to go by, Republicans are expecting to only hold the presidency for one term.
-
Whatever happened with the Trump University fraud trial?
-
@Medical:
Whatever happened with the Trump University fraud trial?
Trump settled almost immediately with the excuse that he was going to be busy preparing for the presidency.
You might remember that he spent that time dodging security briefings and going on a victory tour.
-
1.5 million people at his inauguration? There's no way Trump can truly believe that? Where the hell did he saw all those people when he stood there at the micro and hold his speech?

Like there was ever any doubt. (This does mean that Graham's going to vote for Tillerson as well).
Speaking of politicians from Arizona., Representative Paul Gosar introduced the Local Zoning Protections Act of 2017 which includes this:
We're going to show there's no housing discrimination by not collecting data showing housing discrimination.

Looks like the press is not fuckin around with Trump anymore going by Chris Wallace's interview with Rence Preibus and on Fox News and Chuck Todd talking to Kellyanne Conway

The Congressperson behind this bill has been trying to introduce it every year for three or so years now.
Of course now someone MIGHT actually go for it.
(I won't say never, not after Brexit. But WHY would we want out, we're the strongest voice in there!)
Same nonsense as those idiots that keep wanting Texas to be its own country.

Reminder: When Nixon ignored Dan Rather's question at a press conference, Tom Brokaw followed up: "Will you answer Dan Rather's question?"
Took real guts.
-
I don't condone extra-judicial justice so I don't really cheer for the guy getting punched although I can understand why someone would want to do so.
@Robby:LITERAL. NAZIS.
So Black genocide is still a option. I thought they just wanted to be deprived of any power and have all the privileges. Never knew genocide was still a thing people of the west dared to advocate for openly.
Whenever I think nazis I think jews(and homosexuels) but I guess black people were not from the aryen race either.

If Trump continue to piss on anyone he thinks isn't his fan sooner or later the press will probably start supporting each other against him.
-
The press won't even refer to his or his administrations lies as lies. It's always questionable statements, different viewpoints, etc. They're still complete garbage.

Wait what? What the fuck, he's insane! (…And no, almost no one is standing up for genocide in the west. Newt Gingrich was on his own for the longest time.)
What cabinet position is Richard Spencer getting?
-
He himself is not up for a position, but his good buddy Steve Bannon, chief White House strategist, is. And yes, they have been together a lot and Breitbart constantly endorsed him and his website.
Spencer openly supports American president-elect Donald Trump and called Trump's presidential victory "the victory of will", a phrase echoing the title of Leni Riefenstahl's Triumph of the Will, a Nazi-era propaganda film.[10] Upon Trump's appointment of Steve Bannon as chief White House strategist and senior counselor, Spencer said Bannon would be in "the best possible position" to influence policy. This echoed similar remarks from David Duke, former Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, who said Bannon's appointment was “excellent” and had created “the ideological aspects of where we’re going.
These are the fucking people supporting him. ANd they're not being dismissed or called out or told "we want nothing to do with you." (Not speaking up against Putin either but thats a different kettle of blackmail).
But famed civil rights leaders and the CIA and Saturday Night Live of all things , they get insulted and mocked and discredited.

How did Hillary lose to this jerk? :/

This is apparently a big part of why it's a bit scarier.
Hoping you're right tho and this is just the same crazy guy being crazy again and nobody will take him seriously.
The press won't even refer to his or his administrations lies as lies. It's always questionable statements, different viewpoints, etc. They're still complete garbage.
That has been and remains the single most upsetting thing about the state of our country right now.
Kellyanne Conway went on TV to make excuses for that bizarre White House press conference dedicated to Sean Spencer defending the inauguration and pretending it somehow set a record. You know what her defense was?
Yes, saying Trump's inauguration was the biggest every in the history of the country isn't a "Falsehood" now, we can't call it out for the lie it is… no... it's an "Alternative Fact". This is the country we live in now. You can claim anything and you don't have to prove it and if someone tries to dispute it? Well, it's just an "Alternative fact" or a "Different opinion".
I mean, it makes me feel a little better that it's receiving the Merciless Mockery it so rightly deserves, but the fact that this is even an issue is irritating.
-
How did Hillary lose to this jerk? :/
Interference from Russia, the FBI saying she'd be under criminal investigation a week before the election, and 25 years of smear campaigning from the Republicans.
Also, she didn't lose. She won by 3 million votes.

People joked about rereading 1984 to prep for the Trump presidency.
Little did we know we'd be seeing the actual trucking Ministry of Truth being started up right in front of us.
@George:
“Now I will tell you the answer to my question. It is this. The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now you begin to understand me.”

Trump's chief strategist may be an unapologetic Neo-Nazi, but Hillary's Emails Robo.
Hillary's Emails.

I still see posts like "Trump sucks, but I've never gotten a valid argument why Hillary is better. She certainly isn't a better person."

How did Hillary lose to this jerk? :/
A country that got so confortable in his supposed moral high ground that it became unable to realize that election are always about choosing the least awful option.
And she sucks at campaigning to I guess.

It wouldn't be nearly as bad if it was just Trump's clowns espousing this, but the press is obsessed with "both sides" nonsense and terrified of being accused of having a liberal bias.

Also, she didn't lose. She won by 3 million votes.
Hardly helps since getting the popular vote isn't how you win. They don't have second place prizes in the presidential race.

Considering the winner is chosen by electoral vote rather than popular vote, she did lose.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
No matter how long Trump last(he could be impeached at some point), it is going to be fascinating how crazy politics can get in the US.
-
Hardly helps since getting the popular vote isn't how you win. They don't have second place prizes in the presidential race.
Considering the winner is chosen by electoral vote rather than popular vote, she did lose.
She still won. She was what the majority of the country wanted.
Trump had no mandate. We don't have to accept him as the winner except with an * next to him. He "won" through a combination of foreign interfearance, smear campaigns, the FBI lying about her, lopsided media coverage, lies on the internet, gerrymandering, and voter restrictions.. and she still came out 3 million votes ahead. He's not a president that the majority of the people want, and his approval has fallen even further since he won as he has proven how inept he is for the job and people have realized that "holy shit, he's actually going to take my healthcare, I for some reason didn't realize this despite it being the only republican agenda the last 8 years.".
Any sweeping policies they make are NOT the will of the people, and are NOT representative of the country as a whole.
It's important to point out that he won through technicality and not by actually winning. No, it doesn't change who has the office, but it DOES change the narrative and the truth surrounding it.
If for no other reason than it hurts his ego, the same way that pointing out he had smaller crowds than Obama is apparently infuriating him to the point he has to get people to lie about it and try to discredit the CIA again.
When they are SO desperate to claim they actually won the majority, when they want to claim they're more popular than Obama and had bigger crowds, that's when you have to fight it and keep putting the actual facts forward.
The truth is important.
-
Hardly helps since getting the popular vote isn't how you win. They don't have second place prizes in the presidential race.
Considering the winner is chosen by electoral vote rather than popular vote, she did lose.
The point isn't who won by technicality and rules. The point people are trying to make is that people came out and voted, and the majority chose Hillary. And they are understandably upset that it now seems like their votes didn't matter.
As an interesting side noted,
