It's not incompetence… it's corruption
It's both and that's always been the case for Trump; he's the kind of guy who'd rather grab a small payday upfront and hit the road than make vastly more money in the long term in smaller amounts.

Transition Team: Quick, how many lies can we make in a single, short statement?
This is supposed to discredit the people at the CIA who are claiming that Russian hackers meddled in the election process in order to help get Trump elected. Except that it's not "the same people" who said that Hussein had WMDs.
But his base will gobble this up, anyway.

It's been serving him pretty well, so far, wouldn't you say? He "won" the election.
I think next year there will be presidental election in iran only god can save iran if rohani doesnt win
Guiliani has withdrawn his name for a cabinet position. He'll still be vice chair of the transition team, but a few sites are claiming he had a fallen out of favor with Trump in the last few weeks.
Also it sure is weird how obsessed the right is with George Soros. Almost like they have something against him on a personal level.
It's also weird how the majority of the right's base don't even know who the hell he is all they seem to know is that he's a billionaire. Something Soros can and has proven unlike Mr. Don't Dare Make Assumptions About My Wealth Because I Won't Release My Tax Information.
@CCC:
You may remember her as "that lady always standing near John Boehner":
…..My memory is a bit shot but didn't she swear she was going to vote for Hillary if I recall correctly.
@Mr.:
The dude's gotta drop the twitter schtick if he ever hopes to get a shred of credibility (if it's even possible at this point).
But if he does that how will he shill lies, bs, and stroke his ego unfiltered at all times of the day.
@Mr.:
Trump sure has a lot of nasty women surrounding him.
Even more hilarious (or stupid depending on how you look at it) a good number of them voted for him.
Guiliani has withdrawn his name for a cabinet position. He'll still be vice chair of the transition team, but a few sites are claiming he had a fallen out of favor with Trump in the last few weeks.
Looks like Chris Misery has company.
Trump is a dangerous moron of the highest caliber.
Too much to hope for a literal coup by combined forces of shunned CIA + disgruntled military generals unwilling to risk nuclear armageddon? Might as well go full banana republic.
I'm still holding onto that theory that Trump is attempting to be as dangerously vile as possible before even taking office so that impeachment proceedings on multiple charges can begin on January 20th. I mean, wouldn't he rather retire to one of his golf resorts and live off of eternal endorsement deals than actually have to think about things and stuff every day? (inb4- he's obviously not the one doing any thinking)
BTW- for anyone interested, here's a helpful form letter that lets you write an email to the electors themselves:
http://www.asktheelectors.org/
I did it yesterday, and immediately got back 2 auto-replies from a pair of shitheads in Texas. You can too!
! Thank you for writing.
! I am receiving about 4,000 emails a day so I have set this to an auto-response.
! You should know that I have no interest in Hillary Clinton becoming our next President. I reject the Democratic Party principles and I reject Hillary Clinton.
! I will not do anything that will open a path for HRC to become our next President.
! There is no such thing as a national popular vote. The only vote that matters to me as a Texas Elector is the Texas vote.
! We are not a democracy, we are a republic, for good cause.
! We all have differing opinions and I respect your part in the political process, but frankly, since I am a Texas elector, the political opinions of non-Texas voters means nothing to me. I do not vote or get involved in your state, I am not sure why you are trying to interfere in mine. As an American citizen, your voice should be able to be heard by all, so I have this email address available, but I owe no duty to any non-Texan.
! I encourage you to be active in the political process where your vote matters.
! Finally, I will not vote for a 3rd candidate. A 3rd candidate only opens the door for HRC to enter the White House through the House of Representatives. I will do nothing to enable HRC to become President of the United States, no matter how remote the chances are.
! Best Regards,
! Alex
! Elector, Texas Congressional District 24
"I am not sure why you're trying to interfere [in my state]."
Guess this one hasn't been paying attention. And good to know that a simple email qualifies as "interfering" in Trump's America, but literal Russian interference doesn't.
! Good Citizen,
! I am sorry that, because I have received more than 75,000 emails, I can no longer personally respond to you. I gave up after about 1200. Given that the content is fairly universal, I am comfortable offering this universal response.
! Thank you for your communication and for your passion for the Republic. I prefer writers to rioters.
! Several things merit mentioning. First, you have every right to lobby an elector. I delight in receiving this type of communication from a fellow American.
! Second, this is not a pure democracy, it is a republic. The corollary to that fact is that even if the majority did rule, and it does not, there was no absolute majority winner in this election.
! Third, the Electoral College does not exist in order to give you a "do over" because you don't like the results; it exists to preserve the nature of the the republic.
! Finally, your feelings notwithstanding, it is not my duty to care one whit what the plurality or majority of Americans want. My job is to represent the decision of the winning party in the Texas Presidential election.
! It's not that your feelings don't matter at all, they just don't matter here. The law and U.S. Constitution do.
! For those who believe I should change my vote to HRC because of your intense feelings about Donald Trump, surely you must know that for every person who feels you have elected the worst person to ever hold the office, there is another who would have felt exactly the same that had we elected HRC: that she is unfit for office and her husband has committed multiple sexual assaults.
! Nevertheless, I think it safe to say, my good citizen, you would not have agreed with electoral nullification of a Clinton victory. Nor would I.
! This is why we have elections.
! If you disagree with the electoral college concept, and some do, you have the opportunity amend the constitution. But elector nullification is not the answer.
! I will vote my conscience. You need have no fear. I have never intended to do anything more or less.
! Please allow me to illustrate my point with an analogy from America's favorite pastime, baseball. In the 1960 World Series the Pirates beat the Yankees 4 games to three. But, the Yankees scored a total of 55 runs while the Pirates could only muster 27 total runs.
! Unfair? No, those are the rules of baseball. We choose the winner of the World Series by number of games won, regardless of the disparity of the total runs. If the rules were different, teams would strategize differently and the result would likely be different. That the Yankees outscored the Pirates in 1960, or that the Cubs tied the Indians in runs scored this year, is nothing more than an interesting statistic.
! In a Presidential campaign, if the rules were different, candidates would strategize differently and the result would likely be different. Donald Trump won according to the rules. Everything else, including the popular vote, is merely an interesting statistic.
! Indirect election of the chief executive is the rule under parliamentary forms of government. No one in Canada or the United Kingdom votes for Prime Minister. The election is indirect.
! In closing, I am delighted that many are reading the Federalist Papers. I've been reading them for twenty years. They are a fascinating insight into the minds of the framers of the Constitution, aren't they? The Anti-Federalist papers, from which came the Bill of Rights, are equally educational. I recommend them for your reading also.
! Yes, I agree with Hamilton in Federalist 68. No, I do not believe that the election of Donald Trump rises to that level. Consequently, to those who would have me vote for some Republican other than Trump, I decline for the same reason.
! If you have read this far you deserve my thanks, and to know that I do browse for responses. I read them and sometimes respond personally as time allows.
! May God bless America and may God bless the great state of Texas.
! Best regards,
! L. Scott Mann
Texas Elector, Congressional District 19
Really, L. Scott Mann, you patronizing piece of shit? Trump doesn't "rise to the level" of the threat described in Federalist 68 by Hamilton? Then who the fuck would?
So what's going to happen? Third Obama term? New election? Just putting Clinton in the president's seat? Nothing? I'm surprised the CIA hasn't overthrown Putin yet.
So what's going to happen? Third Obama term? New election? Just putting Clinton in the president's seat? Nothing? I'm surprised the CIA hasn't overthrown Putin yet.
Poor Putin, they're unfairly slagging him again.
NOW LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT CLASS A MOTHERFUCKER XI JIPING, OR AS I LIKE TO SAY, PEE G-STRING
I'm legitimately wondering on all accounts. If people really think the election was illegitimate then they should do something about it. I'm sick of countless news stories about large bombshells but nothing happening because of them. Both in regards to the emails stuff and Russia interfering in the election.
In theory at this point, the 538 electoral college guys will get together and go "woah, some new shit has come up since the election, and he lost the popular by more than 3 million, and recounts are thinning his margin where he narrowly had it, and the people he's appointing are all awful, and he's already broken several dozen of his campaign promises, and he refuses to separate his buisness from the office… maybe we shouldn't let this through" and that balance check would stop it in someway since the man is completely unfit.
Be it by switching their vote to Hillary, or saying "we can't do Trump, but we can maybe allow Pence". SOMETHING.
And that's on the 18th. In theory thats the last official chance to stop and turn this around. It almost certainly won't happen because reasons, but in theory the check is there and it worked 200 years ago.
After that, there's certainly ground for impeachment or the 25th amendment right out the gate, if anyone in congress has any stones at all.
There are a ton of stopgaps that should prevent this shit... but they didn't manage to keep Trump off the ticket in the first place so... I doubt any of it will come to pass.
After that, its heart attack or assassination.
And if he was ever gunned down he'd become saint Trump the martyr.
Natural causes seems like the less messy option.
I'm sure the CIA can do natural causes pretty well.
And if he was ever gunned down he'd become saint Trump the martyr.
Natural causes seems like the less messy option.
Given some of the things that were said after Scalia's death, I'm convinced that natural causes would a) still be considered the work of foul play and b) still be used to turn him into a martyr.

Failure is the only option huh.

Oh they have the stones what they don't have is the brains. Why take Trump to task and harm his presidency even when you clearly don't like the guy and when his words and actions are causing tension within the party along with him potentially causing damage to the party itself as a whole?
When you can just buckle down watch him get inaugurated, push his agenda, and start circling the wagons for 2018 and 2020. As if everything is already set in stone. And then if they lose the next midterms or the next presidential election we can watch every news outlet that insisted that Hillary and democrats got overconfident accuse Republicans of the same thing.
Failure is the only option huh.
Republicans will do what they always do and blame it on minorities.

So, if what the new sites are saying is true (and knowing how news media chases speculation like a ) the next head of the State Department is the current CEO of Exxonmobil, who has received the Order of Friendship from Russia, and has never worked for a poltical office before, amongst other things.
So, what are the odds that the annexation of Crimea will be accepted by the Rump administration?
People believe in Pizzagate, they will DEFINITELY believe that Trump dying of natural causes is foul play.

They will definitely accept the Crimea annexation and halt the current sanctions against Russia and probably push the EU to stop the sanctions as well (though various Putin lackeys across Europe are already pushing for that anyway). Maybe even allow Russia to annex the entirety of Ukraine in exchange for Russia ending their friendly relationship with Iran.
And all that out of doing the internet equivilent of crank calling people and telling them to look out for Hillary endorsed pedophile pizza shops.

Seems to me that Russia's entire strategy hinged on the assumption that a fair number of American voters were absolutely willing to belive anything with a minimum prodding. Kind of the hail-mary pass of political sabotage.

Not really. Russia's entire propaganda machine (see RT) is based around disinformation strategies. Of shooting wads of well calculated bullshit into discourse and muddying the waters so that truth of lies don't even matter. Making people just have vague doubts at everything.
They're incredibly skilled at this, and have been doing it for like a decade. They didn't know it would work obviously, but they know its an effective method. And for the first time (and god hopefully the last) they actually had a candidate in the US for whom this was worth risking, and one who wouldn't reject them if their fingers were seen to be involved.
John Bolton rumored to be deputy secretary of state. There's going to be so much tremendous war in the next 4 years.
But no WWIII with Russia. Sakonosolo breathes heavy sigh of relief

Calling someone out on a statement/position you disagree with is one thing, but randomly bringing it up weeks later to mock them is kinda low. Let's not sink to that level.
Perhaps WWIII and a nuclear exchange wouldn't be so bad.

Its kind of like there wasn't going to be any war with Russia if Hillary won, but the odds of war are much higher with president doofus.
And people voting his way to avoid war, its like wow, y'know.

That's being kind of generous to the gullible idiots who bought into that and the bullshitters who kept insisting on it because apparently Russia is most nice country who we should always make nice with no matter what.
Trump won't start any wars; this will be because any wars that begin under his watch will be the fault of the other country. Future generations of historians will call this the "WHY DO YOU KEEP HITTING YOURSELF?" Doctrine.
Trump is the dumb jock from the football team and Putin is the super savvy mean girl adept at spreading rumors and manipulating Trump into doing whatever she wants.
Putina: Trumpppyy, the UN is NOT letting me take a widdle biddle bit of land from that ugly bitch Ukraine.
Trump: DUH WHY NOT? I RECOGNIZE IT, EVERYONE SHOULD. ITS YOUR LAND BABE.

Maybe they forgot about making a link. This was out on 12/10, yesterday … not weeks ago.
Trump To Nominate Extreme Militant John Bolton As State Department’s No. 2
Bolton, who had been on Trump’s short list for secretary of state at one point, is among the most hawkish members of the Republican foreign policy community, a bellicose enemy of Russia and Iran.
He is a former acting U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, but served less than two years, as Democrats banded together to block his long-term appointment. His time at the U.N. was marked by a rapid uptick in anti-American sentiment among the global diplomatic community. Bolton remains one of the most disliked foreign policy operators on the world stage.
With this in context, his comment wasn't so random at all.
@Kaiolino:
Nice to see an article that really does do good journalism and covers the gaslighting going on.
Perhaps WWIII and a nuclear exchange wouldn't be so bad.
That's be the ultimate "FU" to Trump voters and apologists before we all melt down in the nuclear fire. sniff

Ukraine and Taiwan are not whatsoever similar scenarios.
Welcome to page 666.
He's like a smart person. But dumb.
LA senate runoff only had 29% turnout. It was perfectly winnable for democrats if they bothered talking it up instead of focusing on Stein's recount scam (with which she has already funded her 2020 "dem candidate X is a worse threat than Trump" campaign). Doesn't bode well for 2018 and the worst election map for dems in their modern history.
