I wonder if once you get married there's a time limit before you must have a kid or else your marriage is invalid. Like, even if you have to be able to have kids with your partner in order for the marriage to be "right" would it be wrong if I married a woman who isn't able to have kids because of reasons? I know at least one person who can't have kids because of a surgery she had to have. What about elderly couples marrying who are past that age where it's even possible to have kid? Should the government not recognize their marriage because of all the wrinkles?

Interesting question because age DOES play into the legality of some marriages in some states. There are a few states that allow marriage to first cousins… providing that they are elderly and/or unable to reproduce.
Only one state needs genetic counseling and one state does not any restriction beyond they are not double cousins.
and despite all the redneck and deep south jokes, only one of those states are in the south. Take a guess of which one before cheating and looking below
