I find this incredibly disturbing.
We are living in a world where, to many, an animal's life is valued more than a human life.
I love dogs, cats, and all animals. If you knew me you would know how much I love animals.
But if a bus was about to hit my pet or a human, there is no doubt in me that I would save a human, foreign tourist or otherwise.
It doesn't matter if its a service animal or the cutest dog on earth. A person has a family, a father and mother, maybe kids to take care of.
This boggles my mind. Check out how many people in the comments would save a dog over a human.
I'm disgusted.
I don't think I'd realy have time to think in this kinda situation, but if my dog, who'm I've had all his life and has been a member of the family for over 5 years now, would be in danger I assume I'd try saving him first too, (assuming it was a toss up between the dog and a person I don't know)
Especialy after that time he nearly strangled to death in the elevator cause he run in just fore the door closed.
It's not that I wouldn't want to help someone, it's that he's literally the closest thing I got to real life companionship atm so that's what my immediate choice would probably be this.
Though again in a situation like this I'm not sure choice is a thing that you'd actualy have time to think over, so any action would be impulsive at best.

@taboo:
that's such a weird scenario though. What if you had the choice between hitting an old man dying of cancer or a 10 year old hitler??
Assuming the guy didn't want it and I'd not go to jail, then I'd go for number 2.
6 million dead kinda would make that worth it.
