Boa Hancock still being a Shichibukai, how come no one in the WG has figured out it was Hancock that helped luffy sneak into impel down, it doesn't take a geniuses to work that one out.
Most Disappointing Thing in One Piece

@Monkey:
So you WOULD ignore the female sniper in the tower massacring your unit as happened irl in several wars.
Because literally: vagina. There is literally not a single good thing about doing that or any excuse at all.
What, are you deathly vulnerable to cooties? This is exactly what I'm talking about in my response to you.

I'm more annoyed that Ceasar gets a free pass because is a subordinate of one.

Yes, you want to have your broken confused stance, and NOT have to defend it from people. You don't want to have to think or be challenged on anything.
Yes, I understood completely. -

-
I wouldn't call it dissapointing cause I really don't want the crew to change that much but…..Character development since first introduced. So far I count Zoro puts the crew above his own dream, Nami gave away some of the treasure, Robin not quite so standoffish calling people by name rather than title. Chopper has devolved into cutsey sillyness, Sanji not so cutsey sillyness. Thats all I can think of at the moment.
-

If you're trying to make this sound complicated to create a smoke screen of intellectual complexity, I only need remind the audience that you thought there was an actual island in Greece that was constantly being hit by lightning that had been discovered in the last twenty years.
By reading an article that directly stated that the photo in question was a clever art piece superimposing different pictures of lightning over eachother in the same place. -

1)Buggy took all the credit for Impel Down.
2)Only someone that knows Hancock AND Luffy personally like Rayleigh or Shakky would be able to figure out that she'd ever help a man. Otherwise there's no major reason to connect them… they even "fought" in the war. Just because the audience had a full perspective doesn't mean anyone else has even a clue, let alone all the clues they'd need to make that wild leap of logic.
-
I don't understand why it's so hard to understand that people just have beliefs that even under the most extreme circumstances can't break it.
-
@wolfwoof:
The most entertaining thing about OP is the fact that Luffy hardly has any of the qualifications you'd want out of a perfect captain
And still manages to be a great captain. Piling on attributes that he needs would just make him a boring perfect sphere and not the widly skewed wedge that makes him fun
Wouldn't have said it any better. Sometimes the smartest is not the best leader. At least for me, Luffy is the perfect main character for a crazy story like One Piece.
-
I don't understand why it's so hard to understand that people just have beliefs that even under the most extreme circumstances can't break it.
Some people find it admirable, others don't. In Sanji's case, he risked the life of Robin for his belief. If it was real life, I certainly wouldn't praise him for that.
-
I suppose for me its passing up so many characters as crew members. So much story potential for some characters that could have been pretty fun. I think we were all crushed when Jinbei never came along.

Well there's also the fact that she tried to stop Smoker of killing Luffy and confessed her love towards him (and some other marines were around to hear that too). :ermm:
-

It's almost like we're taking issue with the belief itself.

Hey Monkey, don't start thinking I dislike/hate you or anything like that, but if you truly want to understand someone, you'd have to go through the things they went through to get some idea why they are the way they are.
-
Nami is the most important character in the current crew survival wise. Lets be honest, if Nami were traded for another high calibre navigator, the Strawhats would get by just fine. Robin is actually the most important character plot wise. Without her, we don't get phonoglyphs/void century/Joyboy's prophecy etc.
What a shitty reasoning… with this bullshit we can replace everyone in the crew except Luffy (cuz he the main character)
We can replace Zoro with a more skilled swordman
Sanji with a more skilled cook
Usopp with a more skilled sniper
Chopper with a more skilled doctor
Franky with a more skilled shipwright
Brook with a more skilled musician
We can even replace Robin with a new archeologist who can read the phonoglyphs if Oda wantBut to give an example you not found a talented shipwright like Franky everywhere,it's the same for Nami. And she is unique, we don't know any character who can sense the weather like Nami.
Sry for my bad english.

Geez. I don't know what's wrong with you. When I said that, there's no deep meaning to it. I was just being blunt with the truth.

Oh stfu arguing about nothing already.
For me the most dissapointing thing in One Piece was the Strawhat belonging to Roger.

That's an odd one, why?
-
That's an odd one, why?
I just felt it made Luffy resemble Roger a bit too much, the other similarities I don't mind. I just felt it was a bit of an overkill
-
for me it was Thriller Bark arc which was disappointing…had it not for Brook and his story i would never read it again...
then again Water 7 is my favorite arc...perhaps TB coming soon after it influenced my dislike...other than that i found Luffy vs. Enel and Luffy vs. Rob Lucci way too stretched...same thing happening again and again...
-
Luffy Vs. Ener was actually a really short fight. Or are you counting the extended action sequence of Luffy trying to get up to the Maxim that came later.
-
Ok might as well post what I'm disappointed in, which is pretty obvious I think.
I'm disappointed in Sanji's character after the timeskip. I hope he does something really really stupid so that even Luffy will get fed up with him and they have a big fight, kinda similar to the Usopp and Luffy fight and he temporarily leaves the crew. Then he'll have to change and finally beat a woman. This is totally just what I would like the most, it probably won't happen xD
I just wish Sanji would suffer A LOT and then beat a woman. If he can do that, then I'll be fine with his character again. You're not welcome here Chris.

Going by that logic, wouldn't every other pirate crew have gotten annihilated in the New World? Sure other navigators might not be as good as Nami, but the fact that their crews are doing just fine in New World tells me they can more than handle the burden. And yes, every character is replaceable except Luffy/Robin (all the other phonoglyph readers are dead), I don't see what's wrong with that.
-
They may be seen by you replaceable but for Luffy they are not.

The first part of the fight, on the Maxim, before Luffy was attached to the golden ball and thrown out, was not that short. Not overly long either, but it did last for a few chapters. Though of course, it takes quite some chapters from Luffy's first confrontation with Enel to the final victory.
I remember thinking Straw Hats vs. Oars was terribly stretched when reading the weekly chapters, but it had a fine length when I later read all the chapters at once.
-
The Sanji/Violet subplot in Dressrosa left a bad taste in my mouth in the otherwise 14 strong chapters that the arc currently has.
I think the most Sanji will ever do to a female antagonist is close his eyes and pretend that she's a dude like Nam did against that chick in Dragonball.

We can't compare the Sh's with other crews, they have way more difficult path than the others. Just look at Enies Lobby,i highly doubt they can escape of the whirlpools and use it in their advantage to trick 6 marine warships just with a random high skilled navigator.
And yes, every character is replaceable except Luffy/Robin (all the other phonoglyph readers are dead), I don't see what's wrong with that.
You can show me in the manga where it officialy says all of phonoglyph readers are dead except Robin? We assuming that but nothing clearly prove it. So Oda can out an other phonoglyph rearders of his ass and replace her.
PS : I don't think anyone except Robin can read the phonoglyph, i just use your broken logic. The crew is what they are,you can't replace them.

Sanji can't kick down door. Please fix it.

yeah…including whole sequences i find it stretched....
though i enjoyed that arc immensely...after water 7,it was my next favorite arc...

Not a disapointing thing, but we were told that the log port needs some time to recharge to a new island…i always thought they would have to spend longer on certain island, especially when Dorry told them on Little Gárden it would take a year.
I knew at that time i always was "concerned" that they would spend much longer on islands (like months) before they could ravel to the next island, which never seemed to be the case or was handled by them resting after a fight some days before they kept on going to their next destination. -

The door was made to absorb any direct, physical blow.

Well he is a firey cook guy, he probably could have melted it at least. Though, maybe he would have if he had had more time.

Uhh what's so wrong about wanting the guy to beat up evil women? I don't understand.

What kind of heat do you think Sanji produce. It was a reinforce door ansld I seriously doubt that diable jambe was made to MELT things.
-
Disappointed that Sanji's ambition pales in comparison to the other two of the trio. Also Enel should have been able to beat Luffy, the amount of electricity he used would have produced enough heat to burn Luffy. It was a ridiculous circumstance that Luffy won. Also, just because rubber doesn't easily conduct electricity doesn't mean a rubber band could break through a lightning strike.

YEA! Seeing a dumbass woman getting beat up is just glorious. Probably because it's so rare.

I might get bit off for this but I'm I the only one who thinks that eating a Devil Fruit makes you weak to the sea is stupid?

Everything comes with a price, I think it's more disappointing that some Devil Fruits come as multiple fruits, but no person can have the same fruit. For example you might see 5 Devil Fruit Bananas all attached to each other, or a bunch of grapes on a vine. Does the person have to eat every last grape just to get the power? What if it was shipped and handled badly and some of the grapes fell off? Do you have to eat crappy tasting food and still get no power? It's weird.

I thought it was a given that whoever took the first bite gets the power and the remains just becomes a normal, terrible tasting fruit. I'm sure the same goes for grapes (whoever eats it first, regardless if it has been separated from the stem) still gets the first. Note how Kalifa actually cut up the fruit and ate it which still led to her getting Soap powers. The same principle probably still applies to grapes.
-
The only thing I can think I'm disappointed in is Haki. The Emperor's Haki is cool and I like that. But I hope Oda keeps Haki users to a minimum. I don't want Haki to turn into "power levels" and whoever has more Haki wins a fight. It's far more interesting when battles are about exploiting the weaknesses of the opponent. To be fair, we haven't seen a real battle between Haki users yet, so maybe it's not even going to be a thing. I'm just wary of it.
I also hope Haki is still fairly rare in the New World. Haki was pretty much unheard of the entire first half of the Grand Line, and it would be really jarring if Haki were ubiquitous just past the Red Line.

This is why I find the complaint a few pages of someone who didn't like the introduction of haki and would rather have Luffy beat enemies without it flawed. Luffy beating Crocoman and Enel was really stretching but still acceptable, however it would have gotten ridiculous and silly if Oda didn't introduce haki, which was a brilliant move. Not to mention there are 3 forms and there seems there are more levels and more mystery to each level, which piques interest.

What anime is this?

@joekido:

Its just because:
a. Power balance, with great power, comes great responsibility :ninja:
b. Some peeps would prefer getting a sudden, huge power boost, instead of training and honing their skill and body for years..
c. Some of them cant even swim to begin with.I hope i got your point right, the weakness seems like a fair trade in this world filled with sea and small islands.

Haki is The Force of One Piece. I don't think you're really thinking about it right if you aren't seeing it like that.
There's nothing strange about there being more of it in the more dangerous sea at all.

Nope you aren't.

Nope you aren't.
On the contrary i think in a story which is taking place in and around the sea(call lands:happy:),it is the most logical drawback for a power like Devil's Fruit…
