    • RE: Chapter 795: Suicide

      @Franky_D_Law:

      Kaido probably has the mythological Zoan of Sun Wukong the Monkey King

      In his novel " Journey to the West " there is a part where

      ! After a great war the monkey king gets captured by the gods and gets tortured over and over, the way they describe the tortures in the novel and the way Kaidou's tortures are described on this chapter is almost the same

      For more infos just google / wiki it

      That would be interesting, but I doubt they'd make a god as iconic as Sun Wukong into a giant. He's always been more about his intelligence than brute strength/power (but then again Goku is the exact opposite of intelligent, so what do I know).

      Kaido finally got revealed! I'm guessing a Hydra or Qilin mythical zoan (Phoenix is already occupied by Marco), that would explain the ability to cheat death.

      @Mizrath:

      ! yeah its been a while since i read up on that part of history and after looking through it again i was confusing ouhon's achievements with ousen's.

      On a side note was ou kotsu from the original six generals part of the same Ou family?

      Ou Kotsu and Ou Ki are the exact same person, at least according to Sima Qian.

      @Mizrath:

      ! considering mouten ends up as a critically important court official and ouhon never appears in the historical records as a major general i'm pretty sure shin is the only one from his generation who's going into the six. (unless mouten will function in the same way as rinshoujo as a bit of both)

      ! Huh? Mouten is by far and away the most highly regarded of the 3, considered the Li Guang of China before Xin's DNA had sired Li Guang. Based on Ouhon's military accomplishments (major contributions at Chu, Wei, and Qi vs just Yan for Xin), he's comfortably ahead of Xin as well.
      @Gatekeeper:

      Source please? I know Aohige's mentioned it but I haven't come across it in my readings.

      ! Xin played a supporting role to the Wang family against Qi.

      @Gatekeeper:

      ! How so? I've read that he betrays Qin and joins with Yan. There's a source that says he then changed his name and helped with Yan's infamous assassination attempt on Sei.

      Could you provide sources that say that for the second spoiler tag? I've never seen that before.

      ! He boasts about his ability to conquer Zhao, but ends up getting outplayed by Li Mu (Ri Boku) and seeks asylum with Yan to avoid punishment. You're confusing Kan Ki (Huan Ji) with another Qin general Fan Wuji who went to Yan for protection (and later sacrificed himself to give Jing Ke a chance to assassinate Ying Zheng).

      ! Do you read Chinese? Here's a verse from Xiang Yu's last chapter: http://zhidao.baidu.com/link?url=HLqAQWLfFgUPBreR-aG4lX3_7reI3jI9wjqi_YQFTm41YHzEo28CX2nFTUXFvXYBcCvBr5JEo_H62drX0_VLDq. If not, the English Wikipedia article summarizes his last stand in his death section too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xiang_Yu. Shi Ji records Xiang Yu to have slain over 100 enemies during the battle of Julu, the battle of Pengcheng, and the Wujiang incident. Each time he led forces less than 10 times the size of his opponents and won the first two decisively. Those sound like ridiculous odds, but I trust that a historian as highly regarded as Sima Qian did his homework and kept the numbers somewhat accurate. Xiang Yu's last stand was a stupidly one sided 26 vs tens of thousands fight, and this was without most of his top fighters too, having either died (Long Ju, nearly every member of the personal force he led into battles) been separated from him (Zhongli Mo, Ji Bu) or betrayed him (Ying Bu), so it was essentially 26 no-name soldiers to boot. The result was hundreds of Han soldiers dying, including allegedly 60 officers (I'm not sure if I believe the latter part myself considering how officers should at minimum be the modern equivalents of black belts, I'm guessing they counted 10 man leaders and such as "officers"), with the hegemon king of Western Chu having slain over 100 by himself. The end of the battle was a 1 vs tens of thousands of soldiers bloodbath, and having sustained tens of injuries himself, his pride and refusal to be captured/slain in battle led him to shout out something like "my head is why you went through all this right? if that's all you wanted, then take it and claim your reward my friend" then slit his throat. The ensuing brawl led to dozens of Han soldiers being injured as Xiang Yu's body was hacked into 6 pieces with each returning a fortune. There's a joke that a dead Xiang Yu is a more valuable fighter than most soldiers. Of course you might be more skeptical of the near unthinkable idea that someone can slay 100 enemies on foot, but considering these feats were recorded by Xiang's ENEMIES, and the trend is for the winners that write history to downplay their opponent's achievements if anything, Xiang more likely than not did actually pull it off.

      –- Update From New Post Merge ---

      @Kondo:

      I would be unsure of this happening, because we are already at the halfway point. so

      ! The rise of the dynasty will take A LOT of effort, I can't imagine the downfall of it being included

      And in regards to him being the undisputed best fighter in Chinese history:

      ! https://41.media.tumblr.com/890ff294a448b05ac68284bbb6b09c51/tumblr_n7ve09jNr01sqw027o1_500.jpgI'd put my money on Lu Bu

      ! Yeah, the appearance of kid Xiang Yu is more wishful thinking from me than anything, based on the fact that we have someone with the same surname in the manga. The other scene I want that will probably never get included is Zhao Gao's rise to power and the "it's a horse, not a deer" story. The remaining events I look forward to most are the Zhao campaign, the Jing Ke assasination attempt, and Meng Tian (Mou Ten)'s rise as defender of the realm with the growing threat of the Huns.

      ! I'm guessing you're not Chinese lol, the only time I see people putting anyone besides Xiang Yu at #1 is when they're trolling and voting for Qin Hui or something. Lu Bu, at the very best, competes with the likes of Ran Min, Li Cunxiao, Yang Zaixing etc for #2. Keep in mind that his Romance of the Three Kingdoms interpretation is exaggerated and he was never recorded to have tied Guan Yu+Zhang Fei+Liu Bei in battle (though him slaying Guo Si is in fact found in historical records). Honestly I'm not even sure if Lu Bu is the definitive #1 of his era considering the feats Guan Yu/Zhang Liao/Xu Chu/Sun Ce etc pulled off. Lu Bu was more known for his godlike archery skills, and coincidentally has been compared to Xin's legendary great grandson in that respect.

      @LUFFYSMC:

      ! So he's likely to get over that wanting his own kingdom, and not betray Qin? Odd.
      Funny, always thought him and Kan ki were definitely being built up as eventual traitors out of selfishness.

      ! Based on what happens in history, Kan Ki is going to be very "disappointing". I'll leave you to interpret that for yourself.

      ! Man I also really hope that a young Xiang Yu (the man who ends the Qin dynasty, a top 30 general in chinese history and undisputed best fighter in Chinese history, being the only person in recorded history to kill over 100 enemies in battle on 3 occasions, and the only man in history recorded to have done it on foot even once) makes an appearance near the end of the novel, preferably the infamous "I can replace him" scene. I mean they are teasing another Xiang clan member (Kou Yoku) who I can only assume is one of Xiang Yu's uncles.

      So this Sanji character has been cancelled I take it. Really want to know what happened with the Big Mom ship, don't care about Leo or the dwarf princess.

      I've been finding it odd that the Funk bros are the only Colosseum fighters that seem to be fighting against the Strawhats. Crackpot theory time: Burgess is going to kill Kelly Funk and bring back his power to BB, this could perhaps get incorporated with DocQ and Stronger. I think it's pretty clear that something is off with Stronger, perhaps he's the actually powerful one and Doc Q is simply the only master he'll obey, the jacket jacket fruit lets DocQ outright fight as Stronger.
