What if Oda had handed you a pencil. And told you to write the next chapter of One-Piece? So Chapter 402?
And when 402 comes out .. write about what u would draw and write for chapter 403 and so on. ^.^

Actually, I'd love to be the one who gets in a rowboat and tries to be his assistant (and I'm learning Japanese!), but I couldn't just write it myself (anyone who gets that refrence gets a cookie).
I would have Franky melt Aokiji and win the One Piece.
I'd probably pass out out. Next, I would ask him what happened on the previous chapter and that can give me some ideas on what to do for the next OP chapter. After that, my mind won't be workin' do to becoming nervous.:biggrin:

Hehe, anyone other then Oda-sensai who write the story for One Piece are total nabs haha. In fact, if Oda-sensai wasn't the one who wrote the story after awhile and someone else did, I would totally not read it.
Like the rest of you, I couldn't draw 402.
I COULD see myself drawing in an inconsequential detail. I want to see a fishman in the Marine, so surely there's room for one in Enies Lobby background.
And perhaps drawing the inside of an office, with a series of posters crossed out, portraying the threats the Mugiwara have dispatched, perhaps with a board beside suggesting they were connecting the dots.
I'd do what most of you would do, refuse. I'd be honored, but I know only Oda-sensai could do a good One Piece chapter.

well, this isn't discussing manga, so let this be in general.
i'd be wayne's world like: "i'm not worthy, i'm too little, i'm nothing"
well, i draw so bad that no matter what i do, nobody would be able to guess which character i'm drawing so i'd just draw shit.
First i would bow befor him.
Second i would ask him wy me, there must be people that are more worthy. Third i would tell him that i suck big time at drawing and would have to decline his offer.
Fourth i would invite him for some coffee or sake.
And at last i would ask him what is One piece.
i'd take the pencil, and call my good friend Oda up, and have him help me with the chapter.
Draw? No. Write? Yes. I'd just tell Oda to draw a chapter skipping over to the Sanji/Kalifa fight because I'm sure as hell that that would kick ass.
I'd probably do a "our story thus far" style recap drawn Luffy style because… well, I can't draw very well.
Now, if Oda drew it, I'd probably do a filler chapter that jumped over to the Gorosei being informed of things like the potential Shichibukai candidate Marshall D. Teach and that Nico Robin has been captured and is on her way to the Naval Headquarters with their reactions to that particular bit of news. Things like that. I certainly wouldn't try and write any of the fights.
Franky would join and Spandam and Aokiji (along with the Gorosei) would explode.
So I think we need to stick with Oda.
I would make one of those the author is sick, see you next week :laugh:
Seriously I wouldn't dare to accept continuing someones Master Work unless this person died and there's nobody better to continue his work
But I would ask permission to make a Gol D. Roger's adventure book based in Oda's ideas
Well, I'd check to see if it was Oda, and not Mr. 2 Bon Clay….because I mean if he asked me to draw it, it wouldn't be to hard to believe that Bon Clay existed, yeah? Then I would tell him no way because my talent is not in drawing. But ask to keep the pencil. >.> And the drawing pad...xD
I'd sell the pencil on eBay.

As for the question, i would get Ace into the story as soon as possible because he's the coolest character in OP IMO.
If it was the next Mugiwara, I would definetly draw a female. It'd be alittle tough to come up with a good backstory and quirky personality traits like ALL the characters in OP have,but I could do it.

ACTUALLY, I probably WOULD come up with something. Something crazy and unexpected (yes, just as unexpected as what we've recently seen :p ), but being that it HIS story and not mean, it wouldn't quite match up as well.
Being his Assistant, though, THAT'D be another story. :D

Well if he will give me the pencil then I have to think for the story first and then I can draw something. I think it is really a good idea because by that you can get the different but great stories.
