@Razh I dont think Luffy would use it outside of battle as much as you think. Problem solved. Luffy hardly utikizes his abilities outside battles anyways since they were created for fighting in the first place.
Chapter 886 : This Ish The Way I Live
-
-
Another thing is liffy doesnt need to get to katakuris level even, heck just a half second more might be enough
-
We seen that Whitebeard was master at CoO. Doflamingo felt impossible to be hit at times because of his CoO. Luffy being bit below Top Yonko commanders should have bit better observation haki than he has now.
He will improve all of his haki types in this fight. He will get a glimpse into the future, his CoA will get bit better but he will not get better than Katakuri at those. He will almost catch up. His Kings haki should get a big outburst during this fight and actually help him win. It would be good time to show how crucial Kings haki really is.
Also Luffy will risk his life this time and nearly die out of his own choice. When rest of crew would get to know that Luffy almost died fighting Big Mom pirates they would blame Sanji(Zoro would) but if its by Luffys choice then its different story.
I expect fight that will be better than Luffy vs Lucci.
-
@Kaido:
Yonji attacked the genie while it had captured Carrot and immediately escaped into Bege's castle afterwards. Daifuku was completely fine.
Daifuku moved to attack Sanji while Sanji had no time to fight because he needed to reach his family in seconds if he wanted to save them.
That's not the same situation at all.
Sanji sent Oven flying in an instant, Oven had no idea who or what kicked him. Yes, it's not the same situation but with that kind of power, he could have done more against the genie. If he doesn't suck at fighting, then he's holding back on his power, they're on a Yonkou's island, not the time to hold back. In comparison, Ninji's kick on Oven was just enough to make Oven drop Chopper.
-
Sereques.. For a long time I didnt seen many of your posts as difficult to agree with but this latest subject shows to me that you should re-read a lot of this manga and re-think some of your views on things.
Sanji was captured by Doflamingo strings once and he probably could not get out of them. Same as Luffy had to use G4 to break out of Doflamingo strings. He was not holding back, he was overpowered. Against Vergo, Sanji was simply arrogant with keeping hands in pockets a moment before tanking kick from enemy that he knew nothing about. Sanji is most likely on par with likes of Owen or Daifuku and that is helluva strong in my book. He is also character with weaknesses that beside not being yet on top Yonko commander level of combat power are some of his character traits. Kind of like with Katakuri.
Lets just see how capable Sanji is, we will get a proper showing against Daifuku I believe. I am hoping for Sanjis power up being life return technique that makes him stronger but at same time altering how he looks. With that it would be into Sanjis character to hold back from getting ugly/grotesque looking. But with Pudding being at danger of getting killed for example he could get that sort of power up out. I am very interested to see what Oda prepared, I am quite happy with how this arc is going. -
I vent my frustration on the Mingo incident in the past and am not going back to it. My current views is focused on WCI. My personal view of Sanji is that he's stronger than any of his siblings at the moment, though they hold a psychological advantage over him, I believe that has been resolved which should unleash Sanji true power with that mental block out of the way. In this arc, I saw a Sanji careless against his dad and got beaten, I saw a Sanji kick Ninji without Diable Jambe, granted he couldn't fight back, but he should have made that surprise kick count, I saw Sanji struggled against a genie, the genie, sent him flying, the same genie that his "weaker" younger brother subdued easily. I saw a Sanji release a movement that seem faster than Soru because a woman is in danger. In the same arc, I saw a Sanji that went all out against his own comrade.
I'm finding it difficult to reconcile all this Sanjis together.
-
Against Luffy? Sanji was using his basic attacks. He was not going all out..
I expect that Niji will get trashing of his life going against Daifuku. Other two brothers also getting short end of the stick. Then Sanji beating up someone who they could not deal with would be humiliating.
Would also make very clear how much emotions were/ are affecting Sanjis fighting. For example if he would not be such a nice/ underestimating guy he would have went all spectre on Vergos ass who was stuck/knocked for few seconds into the iron wall back on Punk Hazard.
Not only enemies underwstimate Strawhats and not only enemies have their character traits. Sanji being one of best examples. Why would he need to use Diable Jambe against Niji if even his normal kick was enough to snap Nijis neck? No reason. He said he wants to give him a lesson and not outright kill him.
-
Oven didn't notice who exactly had kicked him because Sanji was masked–-- but the fans are acting like Sanji was as fast Kizaru

@•Ace•:
@Razh I dont think Luffy would use it outside of battle as much as you think. Problem solved. Luffy hardly utikizes his abilities outside battles anyways since they were created for fighting in the first place.
Spoiler boy.
Unlike Fainting Haki and Punching Haki, Prediction Haki can easily be used outside of battle. And we've seen it's more or less active at all times, since Luffy can't be surprised by sudden head shots or flying axes, for example.
Giving Luffy that kind of predictive ability and then solving any possible future problems with how it would affect his personality and decision making changes with an on/off switch would seem like pretty lazy writing to me.
-
I'm not the one who assumed people have personalized snails. The evidence contradicts that, really.
What evidence? I'm sorry if I missed something from an earlier post, but as far as I have seen, no one so far has actually found an example from the manga where a ddm changes its complete appearance in a matter of seconds to look like the speaker on the other end.
So let me get this straight. It makes sense that there are snails that can transfer other people's voices through their snail vocal chords telepathically, but it makes no sense that they can slightly alter their physical form to correspond to the person they are imitating.
Well…yeah. The idea that a telesnail could just magically grow something like a hat too look like Law is really pretty crazy. Not that I couldn't imagine Oda doing this for a joke, but since I haven't seen anything like this in the manga yet, I have no reason to assume that is the case.
But when you change up something that's been a constant for years, it creates a confusion. I myself can't remember any other instance where a person A talked to person B over the snail that looked like person A instead of person B. So unless I forgot and someone jogs my memory, it's a mistake, an anomaly. It's not like Oda has never made a minor cosmetic mistake like that.
But you are just claiming that this is an inconsistency and a mistake without any actual proof either. Most ddms in the story that we have seen so far either don't have a particular design and just mimic expressions or are owned by a particular person and are designed to look like said person (examples: Law's ddm, Big Moms ddm, Blackbeards ddm and now Ovens ddm). If ddms are able to completely change their appearance in a matter of seconds, why don't they always do that, but just in these special cases?
-
The next chapters should focus on sanji and capone battle, because luffy vs katakuri is just boring. Too long, no conclusion, similar powers, g4 gets old fast. Not that I blame oda, it-s hard to keep luffy-s fights interesting when he gets one every arc.
And I Wonder Who is attacking sunny ship, since the other shs should get something too.
-

I didnt say it couldnt be used outside battle. Just that it wont be used as much as youre claiming. Your examples dont prove he was using CoO. Luffy has been hit numerous times during the TS. And his reflexes alone are enough to counterr such attacks.
I dont think so. We know for a fact tbere is an on/off switch. Why do you think Kata got hit in the first place? Its not always on like you claim. He's literally always trying to stay calm and read the situation. Luffy isnt like that. He's definitely going to use it for battle mainly. He'll end up changing how he fights a bit sure, but other than that, not so much.
-

If he doesn't suck at fighting, then he's holding back on his power, they're on a Yonkou's island, not the time to hold back. In comparison, Ninji's kick on Oven was just enough to make Oven drop Chopper.
Sanji unleashed a surprise attack on Oven when Oven was focused on Chiffon and Pound rushing toward him. His attack would likely have been less successful had Pound not been there.
In contrast, Daifuku initially confronts Sanji face to face. They clash evenly, the genie shows itself to be strong and forces Sanji back. Then the Big Mom Pirates prepare to execute the Vinsmokes and Sanji forgets about Daifuku and runs toward them, causing the genie to catch up to him and subdue him.
Please explain to me how that's remotely the same situation. Luffy took a lot more abuse at Katakuri's hands when he was trying to stop Brulee and her henchmen from attacking the Sunny as opposed to when the two of them were fighting 1v1 without distractions, and Luffy performed at his best in that battle when Katakuri's mind was on his donuts rather than his opponent. Daifuku is SUPPOSED to be strong, he's literally one step below a Sweet Commander and Luffy has had trouble with Sweet Commanders, there is no reason Daifuku shouldn't be able to do well against Sanji especially when Sanji was entirely focused on something else. If Daifuku had focused on attacking Pudding instead of Sanji during the wedding, Sanji would have likely had more success against him.
-
To me the revelation of haki blooming in intense heat in battle is a great thing, because it gives more reasons for why Luffy is holding back to lesser gears in fights and not going in with full strength to finish battles quickly. It means that Luffy is inclined to take his fights as training opportunities. As for another reason, it also explains why he isn't abusing Conquerors Haki to gain edge in his fights and so far have done so only in response of his opponents using it.

If Sanji was really that fast, he would have ended Oven –and everyone else except the sweet commanders-- way sooner. It's just a sneak attack depicted with a soru-style.
I mean, it's not like he was slow eitherIt's just the drawing and all. Same thing, is Coby that fast ?
http://i5.mangareader.net/one-piece/432/one-piece-63432.jpgyes, coby is that fast. He's using Soru, like CP9. so yes. he's fast.
We hadn't seen a strawhat use Soru-type speed yet, Sanji is the first. Except Luffy's G2, but that doesn't count, it's a transformation.
I hope Sanji eventually gets CP9's kick based technique too. That'd be cool :D

Rewatched chapter and one thing I missed is how insane sharpshooting skill it was from Bege to score a headshot from far away sailing ship towards Oven who held Chiffon next to him by throat while on a moving carriage.

Ussop vs Bege confirmed ?

Ussop vs Bege confirmed ?
Why put Usopp to compete with a second marksman when you've Auger that you can't see where he is and still takes down targets???
Bege is the best at being father… oh wait, Yasopp is for default the worst father of One Piece. It could be interesting with that subplot under the versus, interesting.

My apologies if this has been asked earlier, but I couldn't find an answer. JB's and MS's translations are quite different in some crucial points this time. In particular, Jinbe's small line when they're arriving at the harbor is translated really different, and I would love to know which is the accurate one, but I have no access to the raws so I have no way to confirm either. MS' says "Prepare for incoming fire! We've just escaped! Can't let them get us!" while JB's says "Ready the cannons!! It's boring… to just run away." Would anyone with access to the raws please check on which of the two translations is the accurate one? Or be willing to share the panel in Japanese so we can see?
I got almost no answers, but I was finally able to see the raws. Indeed, JB's translation is the accurate one. Jinbe says: "Just running away all the time… is boring." MS's translation was atrocious...

So what area do you guys think Luffy will grow? Observation haki or Armament haki? Luffy did wonder if he'd also be able to witness the future itself, but perhaps haki will bloom in him in the other type or in a different "level".
The biggest obstacle seems to be Luffy going around Katakuri's Observation haki - so maybe, Luffy will nullify that with his own future sight haki, but perhaps I was thinking if Luffy counters Katakuri's block mochi hits with equally powerful Armament haki, he'd gain some leverage in the upcoming fight - tiring out Katakuri's overall haki from using Observation haki to it's fullest gaining the upper hand? I don't know… just a thought.
-
so when is luffy going to awaken his fruit if he is going to level up his haki in this fight with katakuri? or perhaps gaining better control over haki is the key to awakening your fruit.
-
Or tgey have a geocentric system and those are planets because i don’t recall having seen several moons in the sky at the same time so far
That may be true. I had discarded that possibility due to the lack of Sun in the model. On the other hand, there is one planet/moon that has another body orbiting it.
I'm not the one who assumed people have personalized snails. The evidence contradicts that, really.
So let me get this straight. It makes sense that there are snails that can transfer other people's voices through their snail vocal chords telepathically, but it makes no sense that they can slightly alter their physical form to correspond to the person they are imitating. Btw, how come Luffy's clothes stretch and Buggy's clothes split? OP is riddled with shortcuts like that one, and nobody should care much about it. Whether it makes sense or not is of no consequence when that's exactly what's happening here.
As someone else mentioned, I think the main difference is that Oven and Bege are not talking to each other through a Den Den Mushi. Their Den Den Mushi are connected to speaker phones, so it is only a one way of communication.
-
@K.:

As I already mentioned, Oven gets a call from one of the ships tailing Bege during the chapter. The snail still looks like Oven.

Luffy needs to undergo an awakening in his DF power, as this makes it the second major opponent he's gone up against who had that advantage over him and merely adapting his Haki to become better, stronger, faster, isn't going to keep on cutting it. If he can turn their own abilities back against them (turning the walls and floor into rubber and overriding their becoming mochi, for instance), that will surely prove his superiority over Katakuri and truly earn him a victory even against an opponent at 100%. I don't know if Haki has anything to do with awakening a DF power, though…probably not, if things like the animal guards at Impel Down didn't seem to have it even though they were also called 'Awakened'. It's already been said but if he can't tangle with the best of one Yonkou's crew, it's insane to think he can do so immediately after, and against what is supposed to be an even stronger one.
That shot from Bege at that distance was pretty good, though I wonder if Pez is crying more from the sound of a gunshot right next to his ear or for his mommy. Glad they're back in the game, though, I thought it was only going to be the Vinsmokes bringing in the cavalry at this point. They'll definitely be able to help turn the tide even further once they get there and it's all three crews vs. the BM pirates.
Once Big Mom is knocked out by deliciousness, I'm thinking Pudding will remove some of her memories? The ideal scenario would be, remove all memory of Lola, Chiffon, Bege, the Straw Hats, the Vinsmokes, and herself, so that each and every one of them could escape without being pursued further. If my prediction is correct, and Big Mom's knockout releases some kind of massive soul expulsion from all the power she absorbs taking people's lifespans, it might knock out all the rest of her brats and make them vulnerable to the same memory manipulation; nothing like a totally clean getaway, after all. Not exactly banking on the truth about Mother Caramel coming to light anymore, at least not at this time. Since BM is clearly going to live to fight another day, there'll be another, perhaps better, occasion for that to happen.
Wereminks...interesting. I wonder what they do back on Zou, do they just stay indoors where the moonlight can't touch them or do they go to the other side of the island from the village so they don't cause any property damage, and just hope they don't kill anyone in their rampages? And is there any difference between the ones that are naturally predatory and those that are herbivorous? Being a rabbit doesn't exactly smack of being intimidating on Carrot's part. And without Pedro there to really show us what's up, it loses much of its punch. Pekoms, however, despite his injuries, might bounce back quickly and with a vengeance (hopefully not aimed at Bege, and perhaps ending with him having to abandon ship from the BM pirates and return to Zou) and show us what a full moon does to a member of the proudest predatory line in nature (although the female lions are supposed to be the ones who do the hunting...)
-
What evidence? I'm sorry if I missed something from an earlier post, but as far as I have seen, no one so far has actually found an example from the manga where a ddm changes its complete appearance in a matter of seconds to look like the speaker on the other end.
Well no, but the snails always look like the person who is speaking through them. Except now with Oven.
Well…yeah. The idea that a telesnail could just magically grow something like a hat too look like Law is really pretty crazy. Not that I couldn't imagine Oda doing this for a joke, but since I haven't seen anything like this in the manga yet, I have no reason to assume that is the case.
I think it's just one of those things that he'd give a joke answer to in SBS. It just is, and we're supposed to take it for granted. Nothing wrong with that. I mean there are even those visual snails who can record stuff and visually reproduce it later. There's no way we'll ever get even a pseudo scientific satisfying explanation.
Come on now. In order to prove what I'm saying, I need to link each and every panel featuring snail conversation. And you just need to find one panel where the snail doesn't look like the person on the other end, but the person standing next to the snail, like in this chapter, where Oven's snail looks like him, instead of unnamed henchman. Doesn't seem fair to me. :ninja:

Why is Smoker the only guy with seastone weapon in OP. with how it-s the kryptonite of fruit users, and you got all these fruit users like yonkous, admirals, other underlings of yonkous and supernovas, warlords, it should be the number 1 weapon in OP. Capone said he has seastone spear, but what-s the point if you don-t use it. and you can-t say it-s rare when doflamingo has the coliseum building and smile factory made of it. So you can buy it from the Underworld dealers.
I would like to see the first real bounty hunter that counts i nthe world with seastone armor, seastone guns and seastone swords.

Sure. The Underworld dealers sure have this super rare stone that they certainly are gonna charge a ton of Belis that you had to be like the king of an entire country and have an exclusive trade to one of the four most powerful pirates because you are the only one that can mass produce that artificial devil fruit to afford enough of them to put in the windows of your colisseum.

Still doesn't change why the marines aren't all using seastone, or just more people. They don't have to build a colliseum out of it. Something like Smoker's weapon would be more than enough.
The answer to this problem is just that Oda needed to nerf DF users but on the other hand he also needed to nerf seastone so that DFs don't turn out to be useless
-

Well, they coat entire ships in seastone so maybe he has a point. It is rare, but not that rare. The fact that most strong people we met so far are fruit users should be a good explanation though. I hope that when we meet a strong yonkou crew member without a DF (Shanks's crew for example!) they make good use of seastone
-
If I recall correctly it's not the entire colisseum that is made of saestone, it just the iron bars. And most of the times the marines have show to use seastone was either as those nets or ship coatings what implies that while good for containing Devil Fruit users that aren't the majority of pirates they encounter, it's not suitable for making an efficient weapon, specially swords and other bladed weapons.
I mean, it would be more efficient if Smoker has a seastone sword, but I guess you can't make a sword out of it.
-
I wonder why they didn't try to create a dirty bomb out of it.
-

They don't coat entire ships, just the bottoms so they can pass over the Calm Belt undetected. No need for it to cover up the topside of the ship.
Wiper had seastone that he used on Enel so he could whack him with the Reject Dial. Crocodile put the crew in a whole cage made out of it. Usopp got his hands on some cuffs made of it to capture Caesar Clown and, presumably, may have found some more to add to his stash. All they really lack is a means of forging it which we haven't yet seen how to do (like how hot it needs to get to melt).
-
Not too much point in making Seastone weapons when you have to have Haki to be a Vice Admiral and above. Plus, Seastone weapons only make a real difference against Logias (extremely rare, and usually not in the hands of people Marines ranking lower than VA would be sent to go after) and Luffy, whose fruit is pretty unique in its ability to withstand blunt damage (but swords are effective). Otherwise, a competent Marine fighter should be able to take on a DF user with the tools they have at hand and save the seastone for the cuffs after the DF user is defeated
-
I used to wonder whether Capone would retire as a pirate after this adventure and keep a low profile to raise his wife and son as peacefully as possible so they wouldn't be hunted. But it seems like he's still got his fire for piracy.
-

Ah, I see, no clue. Not sure if we'll ever get to know the ~science~ behind Den Den Mushis, and how they change appearances. I was hoping that we would when Franky suggested making a couple back in Zou. It might be a Vegapunk's invention and would be explored further during his reveal.
Personally, I think it is just meant to show whom is on the other line. In this case, the random mook was not important to make a change?
-
Getting closer to Sanji vs Daifuku.

I think Doflamingo and Sugar would be strong exceptions to that rule. Seastone was made for stopping outrageous powers like theirs, Logia or not. Besides, all Haki does is block incoming damage when used defensively, it doesn't negate the means of attacking via DF, only Blackbeard's DF lets him actually negate an actual ability from a fellow DF user. Blocking a strike from Doflamingo's strings is very different from tagging him with a seastone object so that he can't control strings to do his attacking anymore, so both Haki and seastone prove useful in different situations, just depending on the circumstances. If you're in close-quarters combat, yeah, seastone probably isn't that necessary since you're able to use Haki directly on the opponent to block their attacks. If you need to neutralize an ability that lets them move like crazy or attack from a distance, yeah, seastone would help. So I wouldn't discount it entirely, though I am surprised only Smoker uses a weapon that utilizes it routinely and it's less common everywhere and with everyone else.

But wouldn't that be almost like breaking the 4th wall? Only named characters can affect snail appearance and if you're a random mook who will never appear on panel, the snail knows you're not important enough to have a design.
-
My thoughts about the appearance of 90% of this chapter:
…and that's me putting it lightly ^^; I haven't felt like this since probably the Vacuum Lady chapter of Dressrosa.
Anyway, I finally read it after reading all the positive comments. Sanji kicked a lot of ass. Chiffon's sacrificial speech was endearing. Bege knocking the intimidating Oven down a few pegs with a blast to the face was really satisfying. Sanji's stealthy tactics are fun. Can't wait to see Werrot.
And then on the very last page the chapter quality skyrockets, even though the stuff before was decently entertaining. I can't help it, I'm most interested in Luffy's confrontation by far.

The point of seastone isn't being able to hurt DF users. It is the fact that it makes them weak and useless just by touching them!

Unless you're good at pinning people down like Smoker, not much use in having a seastone weapon that can only make brief contact. For non-Logia users, a normal weapon would work just as well for a competent fighter, and a Seastone weapon wouldn't work that well for a bad fighter. That's why Seastone is seen more in chains or handcuffs, because they work with constant contact and that's best applied after the enemy is defeated.

For non-Logia users, a normal weapon would work just as well for a competent fighter, and a Seastone weapon wouldn't work that well for a bad fighter. That's why Seastone is seen more in chains or handcuffs, because they work with constant contact and that's best applied after the enemy is defeated.
But nullifying their DF powers even briefly would have been extremely helpful. Calling off Birdcage, for example, right in the middle of it because DD would have lost his connection to it, could have helped save a lot of time and property damage (assuming it requires constantly running his conscious effort into it, which it seems to). Plus if it disorients them, even if the contact is very brief, that can both help get in a hit and mess up their ability to throw out any further DF power moves, which is the point of using it anyway. Making projectiles out of it, which would lodge into their bodies and prolong the effect, would be more effective than Smoker's jutte, but we haven't seen that used yet if memory serves. But things like nets, cuffs, bolas, whatever they might have, that are designed to make longer contact with them should be used more often by the Marines if no one else and yet it's very infrequent. I think only in Impel Down did we see a net, so other than that it's all chains and cuffs, nothing really designed for battle where it would help bring them down easier. Plus if it's unbreakable, a weapon and/or shield would then not require Haki to enhance it since it's already the best defensive thing to have, thus conserving it for purely offensive techniques.
Someone like Usopp would definitely make the best use of it. Caltrops, which aren't often seen and used covertly and which stick into the skin would be very effective (though he hasn't used them often), and with his aim, even just a garden variety type of projectile would find its target, and could stick to them if it was spiked or designed to splatter and coat them with seastone pellets in some kind of glue. I think it's more plot than anything that we don't see more of it, so Oda doesn't have to hold back on showing the full extent of people's DF abilities.

Onigumo had seastone cuffs and they did a fine job with Marco. Wiper's skates also worked great against Enel. Wrapping his legs around him was quite enough.
Anyways, there are plenty of weapons or devices that might prove useful even without pinning people down. You put on a seastone bracelet and hug a devil fruit user, or put it on top of knuckle (nice power up for Fullbody) and keep your fist pressed against the user. Or you could have a seastone laced chain that you can try to wrap around the enemy.
Oda has it in him to devise any number of creative contraptions, even for the marines who aren't superhuman. If he had any will to do it, that is. Well, assuming that doesn't change in the future.
It's just something that has been disregarded out of convenience.

Pretty much, yeah. A lot of what makes OP interesting is the creative abilities. Putting a kibosh on them and not showing their full potential wouldn't be good for the series' entertainment value.

I beginning to question if Big Mom is going to eat any of the cake. With the way everyone in the story talks I'm waiting for the major hurdle this cake is going to need to pass. I suppose just fighting to protect it will be enough. Though I imagine it does get mostly destroyed along the way with either a big enough piece surviving to calm Mama or the whole thing becomes vapor and Sanji ends up making some sort of Semla with his special cream for a Ratatouille food critic moment.
I noticed Stephen's translation of the sound affects when Sanji kicks Oven. It's "bam" and then "crack crack" and has that black lightning. Anyone who has been paying better attention than me know if that crack and black electricity is characteristic of a CoA impact?

Went back and checked Sanji vs Vergo, because that's the latest bone cracking example I can think of. And sure enough:
!
!So, a cracked collar bone?

Can we get some extra appreciation for that one panel of Pudding going all "nosebleed and heart eyes Sanji" over Sanji. So cute! I really hope she's a mainstay in the crew I'm shipping them hard.

Okay, chapter comparisons!
- Jaimini's Box indicated that, in the original Japanese version, the chapter name came from a line from Bege and contained a word that spoken in baby-talk (to Pez). The VIZ name of the chapter just calls it "Way of Life" to exclude the baby talk, but the full line from Bege still has it ("Dis is your daddy's way of life!")
- In Mangastream, in- between Oven's two speech bubbles where he says to take the cake to the harbor and that Chiffon's crime of rebellion is heavy, there's another bubble that says "Hah!", making it unclear who's speaking. JB and VIZ both instead say "Yes, sir!" there, clarifying that the speakers are responding to Oven's command. (This same thing also happens again later in the chapter, when the ships in BM's fleet are flanking Bege's ship.)
- Both MS and VIZ have Oven say that he thought they did throw Pound out to sea already (official version is "I could have sworn I tossed you into the sea!"), while JB has him say that he should have done so: "I should've thrown you out to sea!"
- MS has Sanji silently say that he'll"save him" (as in, Pound), but in both JB and VIZ, says that he'll "save her" (as in, Chiffon). MS also has a speech bubble saying "Bobi!" after Oven punches Pound, whereas the corresponding words in both JB and VIZ make it more obvious that it's a sound effect from the punch. Also, Chiffon calls Pound a "huge-faced guy" in MS, but just a "big guy"/"enormous man" in JB and VIZ.
- The scanlations both have the rest of the Firetank Pirates address and refer to Chiffon as "[the] madam", but in the official translation, just refer to her "the Godfather's wife" and address her as "ma'am".
- After Oven gets shot in the face by Bege, the voice over the Transponder Snail in the MS version, after asking what happened, adds "Lady Chiffon!", but in JB instead yells "Master Oven!" and in VIZ, says "sir" (also addressing Oven).
- After this, the JB version has Sanji say "How are you getting out? I'll accompany you, Bege!", while the VIZ version is closer to that of MS: "Nicely done! We're with you, Bege! What now?!"
- Jimbei in MS tells the others to prepare "for incoming fire! We've just escaped! Can't let them get us!", in JB, he tells them to "ready the cannons! It's boring to just run away!", and in VIZ, it's closer to the JB version with "Prepare to fire cannons! We can't always be on the defensive!"
- In MS, Carrot tells Chopper that there will be a full moon that night. However, both JB and VIZ simply have her wondering aloud if there will be one, which is a pretty big change in context.
- One of the towns that reports in about seeing Luffy is translated to "Eatup Town" in MS, keeps its Japanese name of "Oshinma Town" in JB, and is translated as "Chockfull Town" in VIZ.

You left out the Luffy conversations.
Luffy: Haki runs out as you use it, If the fight goes long enough, his CoO will get weaker, guaranteed
Brulee: Wi Wi Wi you might look dumb but you're sharp when it comes to battle eh?!
Luffy: But that is not good enough!!
Luffy: I wonder if I could also see a bit of the future
Brulee: ?! stop dreaming Shrimpy!!!
Luffy: I want to surpass him!!! I want to beat the billion berry man….. at his best.
Luffy doesn't want to wait for Katakuri's CoO to run out, he was wants to crush him while he can still see the future very well. That's bold strawhat.
