Because there's never going to be that magical 180 pivot that P90X and Yertle pray for every night to the ghosts of Reagan and Ayn Rand. The chaos alignment is only really useful in moderation, at least for the people who want to get evil, evil things done. Left unchecked, it'll just cause those beautiful 3X% approval numbers to keep on dropping, and we've got to believe that even the scum of the earth- Republican congresspeople- each have a threshold picked out (25%? 15%? 10%!?) for their time to flip on the Russia stuff. Trump won't disappoint. He doesn't know how not to.

I honestly hope nothing like that happens to Trump. Partly it's because I'm not about to seriously wish death on someone, but more pragmatically, the longer the Republicans have to stand by Trump, the more they have to own it in the long run. That's why I've said they'd be better off impeaching Trump themselves than being forced into or letting the Democrats do it. It would break them from Trump in a way nothing else would.

Refusing to listen to the Italian PM's speech, veto-ing statements on refugees along with the UK and turning his (non-) support for the climate accord into another reality show-esque farce where he will give his answer in a week.
Perhaps instead of Putin being Trump's miserable partner in crime it's May instead.

You reminded me that I did see an article that there are a lot of artists declining doing his portrait. And ones that have tried reported horrible behavior including peeing himself then blaming the artist. So who knows lol. I wouldn't find it surprising. Especially since he apparently has issues using restrooms not on his property. Of course I didn't link it here cause I was only 99% sure it was true.
It's been a surreal experience watching this decline happen. Like has there been a day without some BREAKING NEWS? If feel like we never get a break and it varies from Melania not wanting to hold hands to high treason.

I expect we'll see the collective effects of this nonstop train to crazy town 10, 20, or 30 years down the road. Studies will be done and show higher rates of heart attack/high blood pressure, etc., with the timeline pointing to 2016/2017 as the trigger. Our bodies just aren't meant to cope with such visceral stress on a daily basis.

The 25th amendment, but it is even harder to pass through congress than impeachment (it requires a two thirds majority in both houses instead of a simple majority in the House and two thirds in the Senate).

That's basically what the impeachment process IS. Like, exactly that, right down to the 2/3.
ANd it's not going to happen with the super controlled Republican house and senate unless/until the FBI start officially arresting people and accusing official crimes.

On the upside, depending on how things go down, those entries will mostly be about how he lost the election by 3 million but still became president, and hopefully, was the first president to be actually impeached and fired and sent to jail. Look at Nixon. He had a productive first 4 years and was super popular but the impeachment is the only thing he's remembered for.
He's stuck in history books now… but he's going to be one of the all time worsts. And always always outshined by the first black president, and the first woman that's bound to come eventually. He'll always be a dumpster fire to us, but to most kids he'll just be one of the checklist presidents, one of the forty guys no one can actually name that did nothing important or interesting.
Hillary is probably honestly still going to get as much if not more history book time, depending how it all goes.

I had a discussion with someone I work with today who said the same thing. I thought about it and decided that I would be tempted to put a Pepsi button, but because I'm trying to stop drinking soda I'd have to compromise and at least let my ass get up and walk to the fridge if I'm gonna drink something bad like that.

Sounds more and more like we get a USA+Britain (if USA really has any interest in making trade deals with UK first, which is if the UK can stay the UK after Brexit is done and Scotland pushes for another indyref after knowing the consequences of Brexit) and a G5. I think Putin is sitting at home wondering what the hell happened that the world went crazy so quickly.
