I dont have time to comment fully on the chapter, will do this later today I guess. For now only two things

1. The cage shrinking and this urgency and battle with time is something we see again and again in OP. The grander picture and Luffy being the one to make sure he prevents the epic catastrophe :P

2. This was on purpose. Basically Luffy shown using two of his best attacks right of the bat and them being brushed off as he just threw a random punch. To show basically how strong Dofflamingo is and make us worry.

-Doflamingo's downfall seemed to be what he devoted much of his life and goals toward.

Luffy does not look like he is using gear second anywhere outside of that gattling attack - and then it was still only used on both arms.
There is no steam anywhere beside arms. I mean old style gear second over whole body for biggest boost possible.

Wow, amazing chapter, next week needs to come now! Damn I am hyped! I still don't think Law's dead, especially not with Princess Senzu Bean around. Next week might start off with a flashback given how this one ended.

This is a second chapter in a row, Oda, where the emotional crux of it relies on your characters being dead.

And because we KNOW killing them off is not something you are willing to do… Hmph.

Unless they are actually dead. Though I suppose they are only MOSTLY dead, we wouldn't want to have revival of the dead in the manga, now, would we?

Revival of people that would be impossible to safe, however, is A-okay.

Hawk Gatling is just a regular gatling colored black, so nothing to be especially excited about.

Break White looks cool visually, but I'm sort of unsure what it was supposed to do...

And Birdcage is shrinking, as predicted. So now we have our timer for the arc. Though I will also note this will bring everybody to where Doflamingo is... which I wonder about. Are we actually not going to have a one-on-one defeat of the villain? That would be unexpected.

Also, King Riku is so going to steal Maynards credit for saving all those people. Just you watch.

Law's old rew I think is the biggest hitch in him surviving. Unless Oda is risking leaving them out to dry, which is rather doubtful.

I realize Law's likely to be fine given Mansherry's powers, but I think the speech Law gave this chapter held emotional weight and he earned giving Doflamingo the middle finger, both literally and with his speech. I even understood Doflamingo's frustration about his family betraying him and his conflict there. That's the more important aspect, that the moment meant something while reading it, at least to me, even with the likely and obvious "everything will be okay" future moment.

Romance Dawn brought up an excellent point that Luffy still seems outclassed by Doflamingo fighting wise. It'll be fun to see Luffy change up his fighting style to try to beat him, which is a classic Luffy move. And I say that because if Luffy beats Doflamingo through "willpower" increase alone, or I feel like Doflamingo got nerfed just so Luffy can have the victory despite the battle prowess he's shown throughout the series, I'm calling shenanigans.

Finally, getting sick of Oda's style of "let's flash back a few moments to explain the cliffhanger". Anyone know when that started to become prominent in Oda's story telling? Earliest time I can recall that being a thing was Zoro vs Ryuuma w/h Brooke's shadow, but even back then I don't think it was used as often as it is now, and with Zoro vs Ryuuma it made sense given it was a fakeout cliffhanger other than just awkward "we see the results now let's go back and show how we got there" like it's been used as of late.

Interesting that Trebol will also be part of this fight. It's always seemed that he helped make Dofla the man he is and is the power behind the throne. Or thinks he is. Very interested in what is revealed about their relationship & history.

Oh, no! Law seems as if there is only the slightest spark of life left in his body! If only there was someone around who had the power of healing!

Law's faith in Luffy seems to far exceed that I thought the cynical plotter had for a man he considered a rival. It makes me wonder if something else has been at play all along here.
I thought Law took advantage of his appearance at Punk Hazard because he sees the value of opportunity, but this is far in excess of that you give a man who has so far only half followed your plans and without truly impressive results. This was how Jinbefelt but only after he heard story after story from his dear friend Ace. Who would describe Luffy as a miracle worker to Law?
Why was Law at Marineford, anyway? What was he after?

One interesting point at the start was Doflamingo giving Law a beating while asking what was the deal with having Corazon on his jacket & naming his crew the Heart Pirates but not taking the Heart seat in the family.
Did all these years Doflamingo see it as a symbol that Law did consider himself part of the family despite the bad blood over Rocinante's death? Is this the reason he never moved on him in the 13 years?

Great start to the final leg of Dressrosa.

Really nice chapter! Gonna put my thoughts on law here… i think doffy realky tried to kill him and so he aimed at laws heart... if and i only say if... law put his heart somwhere else that master plan of doffy would fail..law would be injured but at least not dead

I really like the trust law puts into luffy and his f u attitude towards doffy :)

Trebol being there is obviously just so he can be the fodder for Luffy's next form change, next chapter. Well, finally Luffy hit a wall where his advance techniques is just being shrugged away. Doflamingo is really strong.

Sanji is fighting Yonko crew.

He is up against most likely people stronger than Pica so be patient. This time he will shine. In New World he is first to engage in fight strongest enemies(out of monster trio if you get what I mean).
First was Vergo on Punk Hazard(strongest enemy in NW till that moment), then he gotten to stop Doflamingo(strongest enemy on Dressrosa) and now he is against Yonko fighters.

Oda separated Sanjis group so we first get to see that Luffy can win against Doflamingo and perhaps he can hope not to die against Yonko, especially if teamed up with other strong fighters like him. Sanji after that showing from Luffy will confirm that Monster Trio can fight with Yonko commanders so we will get those thrilling fights of pretty even fighters when M3 will engage Kaidos crewmembers. Perhaps Sanjis fight with Pekoms and Tamago will be a glimpse of whats to come in Kaido arc.

Look at how much more thrilling compared to other fights in this arc it is when Luffy starts to fight somebody who is as strong as him(I think it is like that, fight of Luffy should confirm it). Next arc we will get to see other Strawhats giving everything they have in fights with enemies stronger than Doflamingo Pirates. Dressrosa is made to build up next arc and Yonko conflict in many dimensions, also when it comes to combat.

I am surprisingly convinced that Law could die here. Call me a fool or whatever, but that speech, that middle finger, that smile… It's all a very big, poignant moment. It also doesn't help convince me otherwise that Law doesn't have some big dream to fulfill; he's just after Doflamingo's ruination, which he is convinced is about to happen.

I know the chances are probably slim, but...I'm drinking the Kool-Aid.

Overall a really great chapter. Lots of good character work, and Luffy being rather powerless has me excited to see what he has in store, because, as the guys on the Podcast said, he has to prove he is the strongest on the crew after Zoro's dismantling of Pica.

and Law isn't dying, i didn't feel the atmosphere of a character's death at all, he'll probably do the same thing with the bullets that he did earlier in the arc. shamble them out.

i think its possible that law will offer Luffy immortality next chapter to pass on his will and ensure doffys demise, luffy will decline though…no chance Law will die here, his mutilation only serves to enforce that fact

Tho I have come to dislike Oda's habit of showing the conclusion of a scene and then flashbacking immediately to five minutes ago. It's something he's been doing since at least Fishman Island in order to get cliffhangers on the chapter breaks, or wedge in details that should have been shown earlier, rather than jus tplaying the narrative forward like he used to. Not a fan of that.
(But then, I don't like it when basically any medium does it. Unless there's a complete surprise twist on the moment you're seeing that puts it into an entirely different light the second time around, its just a cheap way to get a cliffhanger or shock opening. Really hate it on shows that do it jus tto start on an action scene, then flashback "how did we get here" and only get back to the same point 19 minutes later.

And, Law's about to get his Vegeta death scene where he asks for Goku to beat Frieza in the name of all the D's. Good thing there's a magic tear resurrection princess nearby that was saving the power and not wasting it on Kyros' "minor" wounds.

So, is Law whispering, or is Luffy hearing the Voice of All Things right now? Its the same effect as when the sea kings spoke.

Sorry if this has been said before but i got an interesting idea for how a zoro and sanji would go, following this scenerio. What if zoro came in and saved Luffy from trebol since he wasnt too messed up from fighting whatever his name was, golem, thus defeating two of donflamingos top playing cards executives, and if i remember correctly Sanji was with two big mamas top animal hybrids? Could be another one of those pissing matches between sanji y zorro.
