A question for those who are really unhappy, how would you have liked for the fights to have gone down? Do most of the officers need that much focus on the fights when they weren't that well developed? Not saying you can't like what happened, but just curious how you would've liked this fight to go down, considering both characters were mostly nobodies as far as how much focus they have been given so far.

I believe the pairing was really off.

I think the Donquixote Pirates are a great antagonistic pirate crew for the Straw Hats, and so for some of them to be taken down by these colosseum fighters just seems sorta lame.

I do like the chapter pretty much. I am kind of sure that in the end, the executives will lose against 'team coliseum'.

I like the pacing of Oda and I am pretty sure, we will first see the officers get defeated, after that we will see the executives get defeated and in the end it will be luffy who kicks doffy's ass…

I am happy to see more action offside Luffy! I am sure it was stated that Manshelly (or however the tontatta princess is called) has an ability the is needed by Doffy. So I hope will see that before the end.

But what I am really wondering is: What the heck does Jesus Burgess do? If I was him, I would go rampaging...

I´ll try to give an estimate on how many chapters are left in this arc, lets start. (I need to say that the chapters are not necessarilly in order)

• 1 Chapter to deal with Dellinger
• 1 Chapter to finish off Baby5
• 1 Chapter to finish off Lao-G
• 1 Chapter to get someone to finally match up against trebol
• 3 chapters to get the factory destroyed. Divided as follows. One chapter to end the Franky vs señor Pink fight. 1 chapter finding a way to destroy the factory and 1 chapter destroying it
• 2 Chapters with Gladius. One deciding who is going to fight him and who wont, and one finishing him
• 2 or 3 Chapters fighting diamante, the guy really needs more panel time, so far from all the high ups he´s been the most meh, so much for the champ of the colloseum
• 2 chapters getting moncherie out and learning what is her power and how is her power going to be useful against doflamingo
• 1 Chapter resolving Bellamies issue
• 1 King puch chapter because the guy is obviously charging. Unless its one of the first three chapters mentioned.
• 1 and only 1 Chapter to end Pica the guy has had enough screen time
• 2 chapters to fight and end trebol, if he´s indeed going to fight. I just find him misterious.
• 1 Chapter to end the bird cage
• 6 chapters fighting doflamingo divided in two huge events. 3 Without whatever moncheries powers are and 3 with her powers
• 1 Chapter getting to know what marines and revolutionaries will do
• 1 Chapter Getting to know where are the rest of the Colloseum fighters (i.e meadows, mummy, jean ango) they just dissappeared in the middle of the chaos its quite fishy for named characters, they´ll probably appear later in the least expected way. Burguess will probably appear in this chapter

• 1 Chapter getting to know where the sunny team is(This will be at the end when everything is said and done)

So that would sum up to roughly 30 chapters. Plus or minus a 10% I would take the risk that to say that this arc still needs from 27 to 33 chapters before its done for.So yes that is my estimate from 27 to 33 chapters.

ZZzzzZzZZZzoro. It will take a time until his post-timeskip fights get any interesting, so far they are all boring because you know he is insanely stronger than any of his enemies, and this fight particularly is terrible with its awful pacing and total lack of development.

Regarding Hajrudin and Machvice… I don't care. At least we got more Dellinger screen time.

You have to be joking with those numbers right? I would triple most of them. You are forgetting about all the unresolved plot points. + there is a whole other battle taking place on the Sunny with Sanji and his group Vs. Big Mom and it is already in progress. This arc will take a minimum of 2 years to finish from next January, 2015 and that is being optimistic.

Its sad. I have never felt this badly about one piece before. Oda really fucked this arc up by adding way way way too much pointless and stupid crap to it. At least the WB war was amazing, this is just lame fodder beating up all the strawhats except Zoro. Luffy and the rest of them look pathetic and weak.

Neither of the fights are in their current "phases" either. Franky is still fighting Pink with other Donquixote Family members, and Pica is about to escape because of Kyros confronting Doflamingo.

Now the one in Thriller Bark arc was a fake offering, but it was made to look like an offering, a 'floating barrel'. It was a trap that sets off a flare when someone opened it alerting the Thriller bark crew to a ship that can capture.

Thank you Edit: I  checked and this saga that started in Chapter 655 with the chapter "PUNK HAZARD" has been going for 115 chapters that could be divided in two arcs, 45 chapters of adventure with Punk hazard and the travel to dressrosa to which the crew arrived at the ending of chapter 700 named "HIS PACE" and 70 chapters of Dressrosa. So the saga as a whole has been going for 115 chapters and counting. If I would have trippled my number that would almost be another 90 chapters, which is an arc on its own, so yeah that is quite unprobable.

Your list is faulty.

Every little event that's going to happen isn't going to get its own separate chapter.

The fights aren't going to take up full chapters either. That's why they're always off-paneled. Oda only really shows small tidbits and the ending to them now.

Unlike many other arcs, I don't really feel this one is dragging because there is so much to cover and I want it to be done properly. I really don't want the fights to be rushed. The bit with Hajrudin and Machwise kind of makes me worry about that. Machwise really did not do much even compared to other executives, so it's okay, but if some more or most executives go down like that (like Gladius, Baby 5, Dellinger or even Pica/Terbol/Diamante, who have a little more screen time), I'll be annoyed. If Luffy's confrontation with Dofla will only be a chapter with a K.O or something, I'm gonna be angry. I just want the Strawhats to get proper fights.

If Robin, Luffy, Zoro and Franky all get proper fights, I'll be happy. Usopp already got his moment against Sugar, so I'm happy.

It does seem somewhat obvious how the Pica vs Zoro fight will end: Zoro is getting increasingly pissed off at Pica's voice and Pica is increasingly losing his shit over Zoro's mockery of his voice he's going to start losing control of his actions.

I think Zoro will definitely be on the ropes at one point though, with Pica becoming more unpredictable the madder he gets. I'm hoping Zoro uses some intellect in figuring out where Pica is instead of just random slicing & dicing or cannon blows.

Personally, the real interest I have in the chapter is Orlumbus. Seriously, what the heck did he just do? Was he just that badass for the marine fodder to fall in line, or does he have some sort of bizarre DF power he never got to use before?

Also, not sure what people are so bent out of shape about regarding Mach-vise. He was pretty low-level in terms of the DF family, and no one that impressive. He had a mean DF, a goofy design, and nothing else. Any of the colosseum fighters were game enough to take him on, and I'm glad Hajrudin did it if only to overcome the shame of being typical OHKO giant fodder for the more popular and punier humans. Sorta like this arc's Brownbeard given a moment to shine, except without the emotional baggage.

High executives might get a single chapter, boss fight a couple, end and party for one or two. I give this arc two more volumes max. Oda has shown us each of their positions, so he can go on rushing. Leo and Mon Cherry are the only randoms left in this arc, she could even only appear after Doula is beaten for all I care. Hey, he should get to Luffy and stitch Bellamy to the ground, so he won't die from the mugiwara needing to keep him down.

This implies that Bellamys strongest punch should be easily tankable, which would be highly idiotic. He is an experienced, but not Worst Generation tier, NW pirates despite his foolish idolization of Doula.

I'd put my guess at closer to 30 chapters.

I think that's far too many. That means you don't think the arc will end till next August.

All the officer fights will be wrapped up simultaneously. (2 chapters at most) Franky will beat Pink and destroy the factory (1 chapter focus.) Zoro beats Pica (1 chapter) Diamante goes down (1) chapter. So five to wrap up the side action.

Luffy beats Bellamy then goes straight at Doflamingo (6 Chapters of fighting.) Puts us at 11.

I don't think Trebol will loose a fight this arc, but if he does I see it adding about 1 chapter to it. (For a total of 12.)

Then three chapters of Resolution before we get the hook for the next arc.

That is me at my most conservative, but also it is based on how Oda's been doing things lately. I think more realistic estimate is 18.

Of course this is assuming Big Mom doesn't crash the party. But the only way she does that is if she's Lola''s mom, as there's no way they could beat her now.

So yeah, 15-18 chapters till we head towards Zou.

1- So Bellamy doesn't crash into the floor head first? To try and make him stop dead in his tracks?

2- Cause the protagonist of this 17 years old manga is one that usually cares about these "bloody idiots", specially the ones that suffer massive abuse from their idols. You just need to go back to PH to see when's the point that Luffy stops joking around and goes ax-crazy after Caesar's ass. And time wasting is not a reason for anything in-narrative, just a reason us readers get more or less impatient over the stuff that's happening.

3- Yes, that's why Oda's making Bellamy act like this, in a time where Luffy should by all means be rushing towards Doffy, he finds an obstacle in his way that he, so far, can't get past just by sheer force. He could, yeah, and you and 400 other forum users want to see him getting over Bellamy by punching his face very hard, but that's not Luffy's mind or emotional set right now. It's supposed to be the very worst moment for this confrontation, it's supposed to build tension.

Keep in mind I'm only speaking about this moment, what we've seen, and what Oda's trying to achive. It's level of success depends on many other factors, first of all if you buy it or not, and I know fully well you in particular WON'T buy it. But that's a different thing. Or, for example, if after this thing is done with, Dofla and Law are stuck in the exact same situation, then, yeah, the tension building would've failed pretty hard. But, again, that we'll see.

One of the most enjoyable chapters in a long while. Loved the little fights with the coloseum dudes.

It adds so much more depth to the whole battlefield, and makes them characters in their own right.

So yeah i have no idea why ya'll are so damn pissy about such a good chap.

I used to hate Bellamy in the same way I hate Spandam, now he's just plain annoying. Go away Bellamy. This chappter was meh for me, but at least Baby 5 and Dellinger made appearances.

A fight between Machvise and the giant. I don't think I can think of two characters in this arc that I could care less about, but the fight itself was neat, at least the x-ray scene was. Next week we better get a Dellinger fight or I riot.

The stalling is necessary because we can't just get to the final fight right now before any of the other ones are resolved otherwise we'll end up with jump cuts and another Fujitora vs Doflamingo vs Law situation which is why I just can't see it as a nuisance, well that and the fact that i've been prepared for Bellamy's character arc coming to a head since chapter 706 so for me instead of being a other it was a signal that the arc was reaching it's final phase and that things would start getting resolved.

I like Hajrudin now. This has reminded me, that we still have an Elbaf arc in the not-so-near future, and I remembered Dorry and Brogy all over again. I also love the Scandinavian mythology path Oda has taken with the Giants. Really can't remember the last time I was actually satisfied with an attack name that much.
I don't really mind Machvise being taken out so fast, the prolonging of this battle would be a waste of time, and I'm happy that it still felt like a real fight to me. I can totally relate to confusion over his ability, but, oh well, let us just hope for an SBS remark on that matter.
I really don't care about Bellamy anymore. I only want Luffy to fight Doflamingo, 'tis all.
And finally, Zoro. Well, I guess he was okay this time, and I kind of like his fight with Pica so far.
It is a good chapter.
