I vehemently disagree. If we're talking worst Persona 4 party member Persona design, I think you mean Take-Mikazuchi. Kanji's Persona.

Every main character's Shadow has a design that is a clever well made representation of their repressed feelings (aside from maybe Naoto's. And Yukiko's is pretty cliche and on the nose).

In turn, their Personas end up being more healthy balanced versions of those Shadow designs; representing how they have accepted their true selves and taking responsibility for their flaws by striving to change. Yosuke, for all his writing faults later on in the story, probably has the best Shadow>Persona design transformation on a thematic level. And I think an inflatable air dancer ninja frog with Mickey Mouse ears just looks cool in general.

But then look at Kanji's. I love his Shadow's design because it perfectly embodies his internal struggle of fearing judgment for having both traditionally masculine and feminine personality traits. But his Persona design is such a shallow take on his character. It only embodies his rebel bad boy appearance facade (not that it's a complete facade since he is prone to fighting but it is mostly exaggerated to ward off people) and not any of his repressed sensitivity, gender identity conflict, and DIY sewing/furniture hobbies.

For some reason, Kanji's Persona looks like a Punisher-Hulkbuster Iron Man LEGO action figure with a giant lightning bolt rock stick. Which is an okay design, I guess? I feel like Atlus made the Persona design before they fully thought out Kanji's character and stuck with it because they liked how it looked too much to alter or scrap it.

Seriously, Kanji's Persona design boggles the mind. Especially when everything else about him is freaking perfect.

That's really cool, I never put much thought into how the persona designs relate to their shadow counterparts so it's interesting to hear. Funnily enough I actually really like Take-Mikazuchi's design but that's just entirely based off aesthetics and me thinking it's cool how he broke his lightening bolt whenever he used magic.

Kintoki-Douji is almost lame but it comes back around full circle to being cool by embracing being an ugly Persona that's carrying a huge missile

I really like Ryuji because he perfectly fits in with the rebellious theme of Persona 5 and the game lets him be immature and a dumbass whilst also still reprimanding him and letting him have his own golden moments.

Yosuke on the other hand is just an ass and by far the worst ‘best friend’ character in the series, I only maxed his socia link because there was literally no one else left to hang out with. Also Jiraiya is a lame Persona

Really like this series, I’m glad it didn’t start with a big exposition dump about this being a world of devils and it just jumped right into the word and naturally let us pick up context about he word. Crossing fingers for survival

Osamu is weak af and not blessed with any talent so 1 on 1 he gets blown out most of the time. He has to be devious and use strategies to make the other talents on his team shine even brighter. That and his earnestness is probably why he’s my favourite character

I love how these fights play out and how we still see unique ways to use the triggers. Kuga kicking the escudo on Kou's back so that he misses was slick. Also Chika just throws a fucking spirit bomb! I keep forgetting how much trion she has but it's actually more than the top 3 trion levels in border combined (Hyuse, Ninomiya and Izumi)
