I would love to see more of Fuji's DF to be fair, bringing down meteors is cool and all that but he could be doing so much more.
Guessing he probably won't go all out against Sabo though, so we might not see the full extent of his ability.

sabo has a really really really awful personality
i loved the ending though. tactical fights are the best. hoping this is Doflamingo or at least some sort of clone which could pose a threat
what's so awful about it?
It's funny some people actually think that the Funk bros were actually leading Luffy into a "shortcut". Why the hell would there be such a convinient way there. It was a trap from the start.
I do think that it's the real Doflamingo, but I don't see a real fight coming so soon there. I think he will simply try to lock them, but if there will be a fight, I will say it's a 100% "first fight Luffy lose and than come back to wiin cliche"
And why Sabo is "cool and all". I find he's behavior "douchei" like drunk man trying to impress a lady sort of way.
And I realy don't know what to say about Fuji…
Hope Oda doesn't completely skip the Fujitora vs Sabo fight. I guess Dofla will injure Luffy here, so when the Luffy and Law vs Dofla fight comes the latter doesn't look too OP.
what's so awful about it?
Nobody likes the guy who is all i'm great and let me explain why.
A bit too Zapp Brannigan-y.

hehe i suppose i could tell you
but why do that when i could show you
with my

You sir, nailed it.
I actually lile Sabo, even though for the moment he seems quite like a generic "strong good guy" that works for me.
Fujitora is great this chapter, loved the comment about the meteors haha
I'm thinking that is Doflamingo, well more like hoping it is, otherwise this is a kinda useless interaction between Luffy and the clone.
Very excited to see what's next.
OH And Jimbei coverstory? Yes please! Maybe it'll link up with Sanji? Maybe he's going straight to Big Mam? We'll have to see

Overall it was a good chapter, but Fujitora's bringing down the meteor only gave me hope for my dream; that the reason he agreed to help Mingo was that he would do what the government thought was "right", but it would maximize civilian deaths, therefore proving to the WG that the Shichibukai system was harmful and should be abolished. Seems a little scheming for him I know, but come on. He brought a meteor down and was just kind of like "Oops, oh well. I really HOPE no one's been hurt." Seems a little stupid for him.

16 chars of "douche"
I meant in terms of viewers, rather than in-world characters lol
I mean…C'mon
!
They are running towards Mingo not away from Mingo.
No, they're not. They reach a dead end and then Mingo comes from behind
Solid first half and decent second half. Good to see Sabo isn't just an Ace clone with his powers.
Who doesn't like Zapp Brannigan?
True enough. But imagine if Futurama took place in a world where Zapp wasn't just a comical, incompetent, windbag.
The title of the first volume of the new mini-saga is
"Towards my crewmates"It is Jinbe 100%. It will join the crew after Dressrosa IMHO
Yep probably entering the scene in some bad ass fashion and when asked what the hell he is doing here. Answering.
"Supporting my captain/crewmates"
And thus Jinbei will officially join the SH crew
Am I the only one here to think that "string clones" are regular, detailed puppets moved by Doflamingo's strings, and aren't made of strings themselves? Maybe they are a recent addition to his arsenal.
Because that would fit his personality a lot, and also explain things like "where were the puppets in the war?" and "why do half the family think Doflamingo is dead when Kyros chops his head off"

Yep, that's Sabo alright.

in that it's not really that different from several strong guys in the series..especially on their first appearance..I remember a lot of people saying that law was like that, before he began getting influenced by the strawhat's

So Star Trek ?
It's not easy to create a cool guy out of nowhere. It's the first we see from the guy after he was a child. Maybe some kind of flashback will make him more relatable to us.
Heck, I'm not sure what kind of a guy I would be if I was capable of breaking metals with my fingers. I doubt I'd be well liked, though.
Didn't Jinbe say he needed to talk with Big Mom to unlink his crew from hers? He may be heading to meet the rest of the Sun Pirates to do so. Or maybe you're right and he's heading towards the Straw Hats.
I thought that Bastille would be the VA that wouldn't drop like a fly. Oh well, there's always guys like Onigumo and Momonga
@Devil:

I don't think he had enough time to wrap it all up with Big Mom. He just dropped Caribou to marines yesterday. I think we can freely cross Dressrosa of the list.
At best, he may be heading towards Sunny, since there's a big chance Big Mom is on that ship chasing it.
Maybe Sun Pirates will save Sanji and the rest from BM pirates. There's no telling whether this cover story is happening at the moment, or it started a day ago or something.
Lol at Fujitora. Hes either stupid or he really doesnt care about civillians….
Really liked second part with lufy law and abdulah and lee. Very funny.
So whats up with Funk Kyodai? They were decieved bought or what? So the luffy vs doffla will begin in small tunnel? Doesnt seem like good place for Luffy to fight...
Oda will probably give her Baby 5 tbh
She's a little out of Baby 5's league imo.
C'mon, you know you want it to happen too. ;)

Also, thanks to MangaStream's scan I can be 90% sure it's a Jinbei Cover Story:
751 cover from MS:
!
Batoto's 678 cover:!
You can see What is most likely Jinbei and there's a big backpack that matches Jinbei's from the cover.EDIT:
Damn, ninja'd by Razh and Rob
Thanks for the images, I have say its Jinbe and the empty barrel he used to hold Caribou.
Good assumption, I wonder who that could be
I think its just an empty barrel, see above quote I answered. They have the page where Jinbe was transporting Caribou in a barrel. I think at G-5 Jinbe dropped off Caribou but kept the barrel,
Be nice if he did have someone there, really I hope there is someone there…but think its just a barrel.
Pretty solid chapter. 8 pages of Sabo vs. marines is ok, even though, as feared, Bastille only got one chance to swing his sword ONCE and. . .get skull-crushed. Ouch.
Fuji's getting harder to grasp with each chapter. I think, though, he's supposed to be "Clumsy Justice". No, seriously, just look at all the clumsy scenes he's had so far. That's it, that's gotta be his shtick. With that mindset, he becomes much more enjoyable, even if his gag this chapter was bordering on dark humor.
Second half seemed to drag a bit, but Funk bros came to the rescue and made things interesting. Them doublecrossing Luffy and Law was a good way of paying-off their mysterious lack of screen time ever since 746 compared to the rest of the Colosseum gang.
Robin heading towards Luffy too makes me a bit hopeful. Only a bit. C'mon Oda. . .do it. . .c'mon!
And last but not least, the coverstory definitely gave me a smile. Finally, Jinbe's issues will be given their time in the sun.
You know he's coming. You know it. The day draws near. Awesome Octopus Next To Jinbe is here!!!!
You know… that Bastille scene awfully resembles another scene from another arc... what could it be
Good call. It was IDENTICAL.
Poor Bastille. . .Shark Cutter. . .should've sticked to his guns.
He got 1 shotted by Law and I'm sure Sabo is stronger than Law
That fight made little sense though. If Vergo is supposed to be a bit above Smoker (or at least, equals), and Law needed to use his brains against Smoker after he easily deflected Law's usual sword swings, Law one-shotting Vergo who, btw, KNEW all of Law's tricks (and, in fact, Law used his MOST basic attack: random slash!) without even using Heart Ripping technique was off in so many ways it's not even funny.
No, seriously, read the Smoker-Law fight again, then Smoker-Vergo and finally. . .Vergo-Law. Makes no sense.
People said that after Marineford.
We got Smoker at Punk Hazard.
People said that after PH.
We got Bastille and Maynard in this arc.
VA's are not getting redeemed anytime soon.
Smoker's problem is that he got defeated THREE times in the span of. . .what? 20 chapters? That's the biggest issue, I don't think I've seen that in any other damned manga. Not even Chad or Yamcha have jobbed so strong and so FAST in their respective mangas, and that's saying a lot.
That aside? Both of his fights against Law and Vergo were decent on his end, he did pretty well, and we don't even know if he's weaker than Vergo since Oda decided to momentarily mentally handicap Smoker to the point of retardation by prefering to lose but save his honor with Law which. . .could've waited 5 minutes till his fight was over.
He only got trully manhandled by Dofla, but I'm ok with that.
Seriously, change the fight against Vergo and make it a Smoker victory through tons of suffering and hardships, and then let him lose against Dofla. Close defeat, close win and total defeat. Sounds fairer than close defeat, close defeat, total defeat.
Could it be that the cover story is about Jinbe?
Why would jinbe need to travel underwater in a bubble.
in that it's not really that different from several strong guys in the series..especially on their first appearance..I remember a lot of people saying that law was like that, before he began getting influenced by the strawhat's
yeah but last time we saw Sabo he was just this kooky little stringbean who goofed off and hunted for treasure with Luffy and Ace
Law, on the other hand, started off as cool-as-a-cucumber smartass (and later a cocky smirkmaster). the difference is that on Sabo's first appearance he was this lovable little kid who played with our even wackier hero and now he's a stick-up-ass jackass sort of like Ace was.
Law was always sort of sedate, although I think his character post-timeskip isn't really similar to his character pre-timeskip tbh (I still like Law though)
I liked the chapter as a rule.
It's nice to get some exposition on Sabo's techniques, and it's nice to see him go into a morally grey area with his comment about crushing people's heads. The commentary on his powers did come off a bit like douche-baggery, but when you got it flaunt it as the story goes. I did like getting the mention of … you know not helping save Ace. Cause for me that's still the biggest issue regarding Sabo. If he had amnesia that's going to be the dumbest plot device…
Pumped for Jinbei. Rest of chapter was pretty solid. Desperately want Luffy to attempt Gomu Gomu No Storm going sideways in that hallway.
Thanks for the images, I have say its Jinbe and the empty barrel he used to hold Caribou.

but in chapter 682's cover:
!
I think Jinbei dropped off Caribou in the carrying barrel, though in this new cover because of the stripes it looks like a barrel.
Maybe it's another barrel. could be empty or carrying something.
My best guess base on the picture itself is that his backpack is in the barrel or some new cargo or Jinbei has a quirk with barrels when traveling.
Bastille got fucking decked.
Does anyone know how long the Luffy picking up the phone running joke has been going on for? Earliest I remember is Skypeia…I think.
but in chapter 682's cover:
!
AH I forgot about hat, thanks for adding it so I can= I fully retract my former statement of thinking its a empty barrel.

lol that would be funny. Its possible its IS a barrel…just not the one I thought.
so they all betrayed luffy?
Pretty enjoyable chapter. I like that the Ace thing was brought up again. That is the lone reason why I don't think Sabo's "douche-y", he just seems like kind of a mix of Luffy and Ace, with the silly name calling like with Bartolomeo and now being protective of Luffy, it's also nice that his unique fighting style was emphasized. I really liked the funny moment with Fujitora, too. I remember when the birdcage showed up first people were asking whether Fujitora could affect it with his powers…and he can't. I also liked the call with Robin and Law's growing frustration with Luffy. It was fun and it looked cool. Also, Jinbe coverstory is nice.
Hey about jinbei's cover story, when is that actually happening? Is it right after FI arc? Is it at the beginning of caribou's cover story basically?
Cause earlier I was wondering who was on the ship with him but figured it had to be caribou since we saw the barrel and stuff
Kuma
So many things on the fence.
On the one hand, Sabo's dedication to his brother Luffy, and his whole speech regarding Ace…really, great stuff. And most of the Bastille beatdown was him using his....um, talon moves. not the Mera Mera. On the other.....I guess I can see where the whole he's "douche-y" comes from.
As for Fujitora, same idea. Him standing down with Sabo, gravity vs. fire.....pretty great stuff, what will he do? On the other....the scene with the meteor made him look....umm, a tad irreponsible when he's trying to save the citizens? Sure it was a gag, but it kinda rubbed me the wrong way. I dunno.
(also the Birdcage must be made of strong....haki or....DF magic....if the heat and the weight of the meteor didn't destroy its strings)
meanwhile, Team Luffy advances, blah blah.....very suspenseful ending, with Doflamingo. Fun stuff.
