Loved this chapter simply because of the fact that I started to reread the manga that day and I stopped after their first meeting.
Good ol' classic One Piece, a time where the characters had crazy big feet lol
However Goda is a genius. He managed to give us those reminiscing feelings when we started to read the manga so late into the story
while keeping the story fresh and progressing.
No expectations, just feeling happy like when I was a kid watching the anime.
This is going to be a beautiful arc

Like Quichote said, it was pretty ridiculous that Luffy was able to beat guys like Croc, Moria and Lucci with no intense training and essentially only his experiences in East Blue and Paradise to power him up.
So him being able to push himself to the point of beating a Yonko at the age of 19 isn't that crazy to me.
Especially considering that Luffy has proven himself to be essentially a battle genius.
I think you don't understand who the Yonkous exactly are.
Not even admirals wanna fight against them.
So if Luffy almost looses against an almost admiral lvl opponent and flees when he sees an Admiral …
So to me it'd CRAZY if Luffy could beat a Yonkou now.
I understand that the Yonko system will fall apart, but it would make sense for at least one/two yonkos to get replaced before the sytem is completely abolished. The WG seems to title the Yonkos at any given time anyway, so it would only make sense for them to name another Yonko such as Luffy/Law when one Yonko falls. The WG ofc has probably used this system in categorizing the Grand Line for awhile and would not expect it to fall as a result of only one member losing. This wouldn't happen if multiple Yonkos felt in quick succession, however, I believe Shamks and Bb are ways away from falling, Big Mom will ally with Luffy, leaving Kaido as falling before the others and possibly well before others.
I don't think that Yonkou is a system you can just abolish.
It's just the 4 strongest pirates, who ever it is, is one of the strongest.
Nothing about the moniker "hundred beast" says to me that he is a dragon, I'm still going to bet it's the Mythical creature Typhon who actually has the ability to sprout innumerable beasts from his body (I think in Kaido's case his awesome hair looks like it might go medusa mode on us, but instead of snakes different animal heads). Typhon had scales too, just saying.

I suspect when Oda introduces Shanks in his full glory, and announces his feats, similar to how he did with Kaido, he'll be your favorite Yonkou. Shanks is probably the strongest, but as Mihawk labels him, he's far too "casual" and not evil like the other three so he probably doesn't go around strong-arming countries and Islands against their will to gain territories, probably like Luffy just liberates them from Marines and dangerous Yonkou and earns their respect and gratitude. Making him the least threatening in everyone's eyes.
No. Don't get me wrong. I like Shanks but I don't care that much about him. He is epic but Kaidou is more my style of character.
At first I also thought that Kaidou only has to drown himself.
Assuming he has a DF. So what if his DF is the only exception to drowning?
That'd make him more OP than he already is.

The reverie arc/chapters will be packed with information and epicness.
At least that is what I'm hoping for.
I don't think Violet will be relevant in the future, because of her DF-ability which could spoil the whole SH crew when they actually get to a new island.
The whole adventure part of exploring an island would be less exciting.
But you never know what Oda will do.
