Sensui had a split personality that made him ridiculously stronger to the point where Yusuke couldn't even hurt him. He became even stronger in the demon world.

But Robbie's right, the transition in Yuyu wasn't straight to Sensui, there was that whole territories mind game fiasco that was awesome.

My favorite was with Kurama and the game kid.

"Sensui expects me to have mercy on you because you are a child…. I will not." Togashi really shouldn't have wussed out and saved that kid. Kurama was right. The kid knew what he was doing, he just didn't know he was betrayed.

All of Kurama's fights were amazing though now that I think about it. It made sense why Hiei said he would never fight him.

I digress, I wonder if Togashi's ever going to do something with Leorio.

Collecting HxH can be a chore because the early volumes are out of print and some have become rare, notably volumes 8, 9 and 14. The series Isn't short but its well worth collecting now if you think you can end up being a big fan. I own them all and I love HxH, Its my favorite Action Adventure Comedy Shonen ever behind OP and FMA (It's roughly tied for second with FMA). Maybe check out the first couple chapters online and if you like what you see you should start collecting it.

But don't monthlies stil have more pages then a regular weekly ? Not like twice the length of a chapter (though I do remember some masive 666 Satan chapters in the middle of the series), but stil lke six, seven more pages ? I know D-Grayman has.

I would absolutely love it if Togashi switched to a monthly mag. It just feels better knowing that there's some sort of consistency with the series and that even if you have to wait a really long time, it's definite that there's something on the horizon. These hiatuses just completely alienate me; I admit that during the past hiatus I rarely thought of Hunter X Hunter, but when I did, I couldn't help but wonder if Togashi was going to come back at all: that's an uneasy feeling. I can only hope that he doesn't die or retire before he finishes the series, because that would be a really shitty thing to do.

For the time being though I'm still just happy that the series is back. And what good timing! Should make the ease back into school a lot smoother.

In other news Togashi better finish the Chimera Ant arc in his next updates. Though the only chance he has really is a moral victory over Meruem since, well, he beat the strongest Nen user in the world almost effortlessly and managed to survive a nuclear explosion (albeit barely) and became stronger as a result of "eating" his men.

Again I doubt that. The old man was literally the strongest Nen user in the world and he could barely scratch Meruem. It would be a tremendous asspull on Togashi's behalf to have Gon's transformation be strong enough to Meruem. It's likely going to be a moral victory over him (i.e. convince him not to go around and commit near global genocide).

Besides even if Gon could do that he lost his arm fighting Pitou. And we don't know the true extent of his transformation power. Like how long it lasts and what Gon might have had to give up to obtain it.

I wouldn't like a Gon bullshit power up strong enough to defeat Meruem, I just noted the possibility. Always be prepared for what may come, that includes possible disappointments!

But yes, as I said, not defeating physically Meruem looks right now like the most obvious solution, but leaving him alive is like leaving a living nuke out there. The guy can snap out of it any day and start genociding again.

Or a third party of people surprisingly strong may appear. Gon's dad's comrades? Or something like that?

Anyways, I'm really excited for this. Let's hope Togashi will be at the top of his game and deliver.

Afaik Netero was "only" top 5(or 3) Nen user in the world, not specifically the strongest. But correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah Netero was still an awesome old man but a big point of the entire King vs. Netero fight was to show that Netero was a mere shard of what he used to be.

Meruem's incredible, but I think it's safe to say there's a few people in the world who could crush him fairly easily based off the fact that this is a Shonen manga.

Given his chapter count per year, he's basically doing a monthly comic at this point. He just happens to be printed in a weekly magazine. If he were in the monthly mag next to Claymore, there'd probably be no hiatuses.

Of course, the BIG difference is, those monthly manga have a lot more pages per chapter than HxH.

Then again if my wife was one of the richest manga artist ever, I'd be just as lazy.

yes they are, I bought volumes 1 - 12 while they were coming out an I found a guy selling vol 13 -25 on craigslist, i'll let you know right now that volume 8 and 14 are OOP. I also bough vol 26 and vol27 from rightstuf.com, I recieved volume 27 the other day and am now waiting on volume 26. Once Viz get's 28 and 29 i'm ordering those, no pre-ordering those.

I think even with it's flaws, this Chimera ant arc is good. It abuses the narration like crazy, and over-developed some villains only to dispose of them in underwhelming ways, but there are a myriad of interesting elements in there, like some of the truest, darkest "desperation" situations a main character has probably been. And I wanna see if everything leads to the "most evil man in the world".

But, seriously, are there gonna be STRONGER guys than Meruem after this arc??? He is so fucking terrifyingly strong compared to the rest of the cast. . .

Yeah, isn't Leorio physically stronger than both Gon and Kirapika (but not Killua, obviously)? If I recall, he was able to lift 3 gates at Killua's family's estate, whereas Gon could only lift one. In a physical battle, Leorio would kick Gon's ass. In a Nen battle… not so much, though we don't know what Leorio's nen abilites are yet. But it's not always about nen, either. Hisoka's nen power is kind of useless if you're something that can't be stuck to, for example, but Hisoka's other abilities are crazy broken, so he makes up for it.

Magazines like the Gangans and Jump SQ can average 40-50 pages a month, but Dengeki's monthly magazines tend to be around 25 pages. It all depends on the magazine, though it's pretty much always more than Jump's 18-page average.

I'm not sure what I will do, when this arc ends and the next one isnt only a transition arc, but the next big one. I can imagine, that a lot of people have to consider, if they want to start an arc, who will most likely stop right in the introduction phase because of the next hiatus, and over whom a huge question mark stands, if he will ever get finished at all.

And for me, the development of the last chapters was very disappointing anyhow, because I cant get over this ridiculous powerup for Gon, regardless the drawbacks. It just felt so out of place, without any prior indications and in short, something, which wouldnt have so surprised me in an average shounen, but NOT in HxH. It just felt, like the author had written himself in a corner, with all this over-the-top powerlevels and solved this in an utterly cheap way (in my eyes at least, I know, a lot of people dont have any problems with this). Additionally, he didnt saw Pitou as such a bad person, she felt some sort of remorse and got a lot of character development, only to be killed in a very vicious and brutal way.

So, I really want to see, how this arc ends, but I will likely stop beginning the next arc and wait,how much of it will be relaised this year or the next and read it in one go, when the general reader reactions are positive.

Oh c'mon, since Netero did that hand sign to show to Gon the way to Pitou we saw the reaction that was somewhat the confirmation of something real big happening with Gon, then he like completely changed his attitude and the tension built up more and more when he was confronted with Pitou in the hostage situation (Even Pitou stated something about it if i remember).

Then Gon knew Kaito's dead, the thing that lit the fire.

And since he has a reinforcement type nen, it's only normal to think he could do something like that power up (Biske), only thing that was unexpected is that it was one hell of a power up that may imply the biggest sacrifice Gon had to do and will definitely have huge drawbacks.

I just like the psychological battles, I often feel the more lackluster resolutions are what make this series completely unpredictable.

And usually when the pay offs are big, they're huge. Sometimes things are drawn out a little too far though, so I get what you mean.

I don't think it would be a problem if it was on going weekly, but when he does it now it feels like he wasted one of our precious 10 chapters.

Actually, I'm pretty sure this is what Biske and Uvoquin were doing, I just thing Gon forced his transformation when his body wasn't ready. Remember Biske saying that big bulky version was her real form?

It's most likely what's going to happen to Gon, and he's going to have to learn how to transform back. I guess Uvoquin just didn't feel the need to go back to his old form. (or maybe he didn't know how, he said he wasn't smart)

Pitou theorized that what Gon sacrificed was his potential. All his potential in the future, just to have it now, to defeat Pitou.

Noone knows what the costs of that will be, but Gon's build up to his eventually snapping was heavily, heavily foreshadowed, and not at ALL an asspull.

The only real drawbacks would be, if Gon is killed afterwards or cant use Nen anymore, with no way of getting it back later. And both of it wont happen (except if this really is the last arc). And EVEN THEN, the powerup seems too massiv. If I remember rightly, even Netero said, that he isnt sure if he can handle the Royal Guards. And Gon was able to one-shot them. And wasnt Pitou confirmed as the best/fastest of them or something like that??

Of course Gon had enough reasons. But Pitou changed too, she felt guilty herself or at least could relate to Gon and the pain he is in. She was at the end the Royal Guard with the most human feelings. And as such it would okay, if Gon somehow took revenge on her, but not in such a brute way. There are villains, who really deserve such treatment (Spandam or the Tenryubito of OnePiece came to mind), but she wasnt one, imo. Maybe it will be addressed in the aftermatch of this arc.

That said, Reinforcement users ARE the powerhouses of the series, so it's not as much of a power jump as you think. What Gon has in power, everyone else has in cool techniques and skills to keep him at bay, so it's balanced.

The only problem is if you have reinforcement user like Uvoqin who just doesn't care, and will eat the pain and still kill you.

That said, we don't exactly know where Gon stood power wise since his fight with Knuckle. He kept training after that, and even the pipe guy said he wouldn't survive with all of his nen focused on his abs if Gon had hit.

So you think Gon was solely relying on Pitou keeping his word? Apparently his aura was big enough that it made Pitou too scared to even kill him from across the room.

Thats the really interesting thing about Nen. It LETS you do something like that without being an asspull. Its part of the world, and the bugs can do the same thing. Kurapika is godly against the spiders, but he can't use his best abilities against anyone else. The Cheetah guy had some broken powrs but with the condition "I can't be caught or I lose the power forever."

We still don't know WHAT Gon gave up to get that kind of power, but it has to be maaaaajor. As is he still collapsed right after doing it.
