This is like when we were pre-timeskip and haki was introduced. Devil Fruits aren't the only possible explanation for weird phenomena, and it's not like we haven't seen some sort of psychic powers or magic before, they just weren't as powerful.

Oda has already gone on record in discarding magic existing, as he wants DFs to remain the closest thing to it.

That said, the Elders' abilities could very well be just technological in nature. We know Vegapunk can teleport too, and rather casually, so a form of warp tech exists. And the regeneration could be an application of the organoid tech Vegapunk has stored in his lab.

My pet theory for the the Ohara globe has always been that it shows the world as it was in the past (them being archeologists and all), and we're going to find out that the world used to have half a dozen more moons that were catastrophically destroyed in the Void Century, leaving only one for the present day.

They've been doing this in the official since Dressrosa.

we all accepted Devil Fruits from the get go to make and allow unnatural exceptions

anything outside that limit is unwelcome for me, and there are some examples but they're all minor ( like Fukurokuju )

originally I wouldn't prefer the Gorōsei to be fighters not alone some grand maguss or warlocks

yeah i understand the symbolism : world rulers = demonic fuckers. but that's just too much on this setting.

making the nobles look ugly is already a low effort, their actions & ideologies should be enough to hate them but i guess all that is not enough somehow

if he makes them an actual demons ( yay new race ) that would just be the worst, again pure low effort instead of making them deep and story rich it'll be nah they're just evil by nature let's take them out.

Meh, the five eldritchs had Sabo surrounded in their own living room and he just walked away, so I wouldn't worry much for Nika and friends right now.

Gear 5 is always a lot of visual fun, never going to deny that. The cymbal to pizza to frisbee combo was wild.
But can't really say the same about the fact that this laughing maniac just toying with the highest powers in the world is basically a completely separate character from Luffy, and nothing he does feels even remotely earned or cathartic. Nika mode has basically become default mode, has no real drawback (and whatever little is there can be easily dismissed with convenient high quantities of food being available+ super fast magic metabolism) and can be accessed anytime effortlessly.
In the end, just like in the cartoons that inspired it, at this point I'm mostly rooting for the antagonist to take down this smug asshole that effortlessly powers through everything and everyone rather than for the supposed "Hero" of the story.
There was a reason for the protagonist being Wile Coyote and not the road runner after all...

To clarify, it doesn't need to be real sorcery. I call them "sorcerers" for lack of a better term. It may be a specific set of rules and principles that the Elders learned. They have access to ancient knowledge long lost to most of the world, which could justify it. And it may have a price behind using it as well.

Is it possible that Saturn combined in himself the power of several DFs? He said he was the one who gave Bonney her powers by experimenting on her, not by her eating any fruit. I would assume the point of those experiments would be to give himself powers if they were safe enough. Maybe the Sapphire Scale disease is a way of making the CDs cautious about giving themselves powers. Maybe even Boa’s fruit is an experiment like that.
Not sure if when you give yourself powers without eating the fruit it means you can combine several powers in one body. Some people here theorized that Bonney could even end up with the Paw Paw Fruit.
Maybe Saturn’s magic is a combination of different DFs

I've sorely let my guard down and was infectuated by the hype of all Elders coming to Egghead, until I remembered how faulty Jaygarcia has been up until now. Welp. I'm at least invested in the mystery of their magic, so there's that. Oda may also give them an RPG theme...? We have Jaygarcia as the sorcerer/summoner, V Nusjuro can easily be a warrior/samurai...here goes some baseless speculation: Warcury = archer/hunter, Mars = knight/rider and Ju Peter = healer/sage.

I said in the spoiler thread, but I believe the Gorosei's powers are similar to a Lich and it's phylactery from Dungeons and Dragons/Pathfinder. They can heal from any injury and don't age, because their souls are outside of their bodies, perfectly preserved. And I believe if their vessels were destroyed, they would die instantly.

I will just be repeating what I already said in the spoiler thread probably word by word, but I would understand calling this Oda stalling for the sake of stalling if the chapter ended two pages earlier.
But it’s a lot harder to side with that complaint when the chapter ends with a major as hell twist provoked precisely because the message was delayed.

The most problematic thing here is that we need to know that Gorosei are all world known figures. If they managed to stay the same for 40 years characters in OP should know and mention it. Yet besides Ivankov mentioning the immortality surgery for Imu no one says anything about the Gorosei

I imagine the Elders age slowly. Also, humans in One Piece can live 130+ years. If Saturn was 80-years old in God Valley, he'd be "only" 118-years old now.

We know people can't see the Elders without permission, but a random marine mentions he had only seen the Elders in portraits. Also, the kings can ask for audiences with them, like Cobra did.

@access-timeco I reckon the elders' arrival is a twist that could make things interesting regardless of when we eventually learn the "truth" of the world - provided we end up learning actual new stuff and not just a recap of "the mystery kingdom's name started with a D it had Shandora and Wano for allies yadah yadah". Revelations about the nature of Devil Fruits when the crew finally met Vegapunk did not do much to boost my trust levels.

Long story short, you have a point yet I can't not be annoyed by Oda abusing again the end-of-chapter big words. Call me silly, it's nothing new and the manga has been like this forever, but we've been waiting 20 years for what's coming so for once I would not have minded a change from the usual method .

@Johnny-B-Decent Ch 1075's coverpage shows his silhouette with a younger Vegapunk, but we don't know when that happened. It's probably later than God Valley, but also prior to 22 years ago.

There may be other factors influencing their age. I just doubt they have been around for centuries.

of course the great kingdom could've won but it would've been at the price of mass murdering people hence the ancient weapons, so they chose defeat and save lives by doing so

by that outcome the world was ripped from advancement and prosperity and Vegapunk is going to expose that fact, he probably would mention the hideous divine tribute to ignite the people, how sad it is the entire world pays tribute every year just because the evil side won 800 years ago ? if such message is delivered it would cause a massive chaos and more revolutions would rise. starting the end the WG. but honestly that role is too wild for Vegapunk yet he's so perfect because the people love him and trust him. the public is not going to believe that if it comes from a pirate's mouth. I just hope he doesn't bring up religion like hey Nika is back and you need to know about him, that's a freaking nightmare for me.

it's most likely the message won't be revealed by next chapter but I'm excited none the less. I want to see majestic monsters not giant insects like Saturn.

This is completely out of topic but since the secret that Vegapunk wants to reveal might have to do with the ancient kingdom,

1. What if the name of the ancient kingdom is Laugh Tale?

2. Since we know Oda has gone on record saying that the ONE PIECE, will not be "the journey and friends we got along the way". What if simply, the ONE PIECE is basically all the wealth and treasure from the lost ancient kingdom?
   Part of this recovered treasure will be possibly a fleet of those Giant Ancient Robots, like we see on Egghead.
   That's why whoever gets the One piece will have the ability to spark of a world war.
