U.s. health system is one that allows the rich to surpass what their original lifespan was supposed to be, Biden is one of those richies. he's good for two terms, heck, I could see him in the year 2027 trying to be candidate for a third term because he forgets he's already been president twice.
American Politics: A Brand New Day

Most important thing in a US election is that no one should under any circumstances have been born after 1970.
This country has precisely zero faith in anyone younger than 40
-
Being old and white does not, by itself, disqualify anyone from the role of president.
Trump isn't a bad president because he's old and white. He's a bad president because he's a petty, narcissistic boob of a man.
And, to get the obvious rebuttal out of the way, Biden is not senile as the right wing likes to claim, and anyone who wants to say otherwise should have more than armchair diagnosis.

We've only had one President born after 1946.

I have not seen the full debate, but it really was annoying when Kamala Harris said she would not take a vaccine for Coronavirus if Trump announced it. Honestly, that was pretty ignorant, Trump doesn't even make the vaccine, doctors do. I would take the vaccine because I don't want to get Covid. It feels like it's making it about politics. I will watch the whole debate later on this week to see if she had any good points. At least there's no annoying interruptions and both peeps are being respectful to the other. Though I do want to see that fly on Mike Pence, I really bet that will be on the Saturday Night Live version very surely xD

Trump has peddled half a dozen fake cures that all have serious and potentially deadly side effects. He simply can't be trusted on the matter. His endorsement of any vaccine is irrelevant at this point and people should only take something if many medical experts endorse it.

I think her argument was that she won't take a vaccine without broad scientific approval, that was the context of the statement. It's easy to get it wrong because she had to answer under time pressure, but she was definitely insinuating that Trump would try to push for an insecure vaccine that didn't go through the usual quality testing process (to put it simple). And this is not a baseless fear, in China people are already getting treated with rushed medication, while Putin distributed a vaccine that bypassed the most crucial step of regulation. Personally I have zero doubts that Trump would do the same if it's opportune or if he has his back against the wall ("miracle medicine"…).
Just imagine Trump allowing a little researched vaccine to boost his approval ratings. If you're lucky it works, if it doesn't then thousands of people will be infected and die because of a false sense of security.
But that's not even the worst case scenario! What if the rushed vaccine has unforseen side effects? Side effects that could cause long term damage or even death?
Not only would people lose trust in the vaccine, but a certain group of people would also have a precedent they can point at to demonize ALL kind of vaccines. Decades of campaigning and pushing people to vac their kids, down the drain because your president needed to look good for a couple weeks. So she is right when she says that a vaccine promoted by Trump (and his closest cronies, even if they are doctors) should be taken with a
graintruckload of salt. -
I also don't know if she said it in the debate or elsewhere but she said she would only take a vaccine if approved by Dr.Fauci.
Also further proof that armed militias and white supremacists pose more of a threat to this country than people protesting institutionalized racism, discrimination, & sexism

Biden's net worth is around 9 million that's substantially less than the Jerry Jones, Betsy Devos, Sheldon Adelsons, Mark Zuckerbergs, & Jeff Bezos of world.

Pence has cancelled all of his campaign events and is flying back to Washington.
Pelosi is going to be discussing the 25th Amendment tomorrow.
What is going on?!
I have not seen the full debate, but it really was annoying when Kamala Harris said she would not take a vaccine for Coronavirus if Trump announced it. Trump doesn't even make the vaccine, doctors do
That's actually the right call. Trump has peddled a whole bunch of fakes, and he's strongly pushing theFDA to put something out that hasn't been tested at all so he can have SOEMTHING before the election, even though we're still at least a year away from anything being viable.
So actually, in this case, yes, it WOULD be Trump making the vaccine, not doctors. Because's he demanding literally anthing that could be called a cure be put out, no matter how innefective.
-
So apparently Trump has taken umbrage to the idea of doing a virtual debate because of his positive diagnosis so Biden will be doing a town hall instead.
And yes for added irony and hypocrisy Trump did months earlier accuse Biden of wanting to use Covid to get out of the debates.
-

Well, honestly I don't trust Biden either, but I'm not gonna stop taking a vaccine because I don't trust him. Honestly, at this point if Dr. Fauci, head of the CDC says not to take the vaccine from Trump, then I won't take it. Just because Trump made mistakes in the past, doesn't mean he would be wrong every time.

Personally I have zero doubts that Trump would do the same if it's opportune or if he has his back against the wall ("miracle medicine"…).
I see. Well, medicine is all about risk. And it's not like Trump is making the vaccine, a bunch of doctors are making it. It's about trail and error from what I know about vaccines. I don't trust Trump, but I'm not gonna not get a vaccine if I'm provided with one. It does feels like an agenda to make Trump worse than what he is actually. Honestly, if Dr. Fauci says not to take it, then I follow what he says. I feels like it's a bit fear mongering, no offense.
Just imagine Trump allowing a little researched vaccine to boost his approval ratings. If you're lucky it works, if it doesn't then thousands of people will be infected and die because of a false sense of security.
Well, I see the vaccine coming at the end of this year, way after the election is over to be honest.
But that's not even the worst case scenario! What if the rushed vaccine has unforseen side effects? Side effects that could cause long term damage or even death?
Well, I don't think it be rushed… and even if we waited a bit longer, there still be a case of unforeseeable affects.
Not only would people lose trust in the vaccine, but a certain group of people would also have a precedent they can point at to demonize ALL kind of vaccines. Decades of campaigning and pushing people to vac their kids, down the drain because your president needed to look good for a couple weeks.
Well, people will lose trust in the vaccine if politicians tell you not to take them, so um…. it be bad either way.
So she is right when she says that a vaccine promoted by Trump (and his closest cronies, even if they are doctors) should be taken with a
graintruckload of salt.I don't think she is right…. It still feels like she is trying to push an agenda to make Trump look more bad than he actually is. I get what you saying, but honestly I disagree.
And that's a bit silly, to reject doctors who are friends with Trump. Who cares if they know him or not, I care about what their job is not who they are friends with or no. That's honestly irrelative.
Pence has cancelled all of his campaign events and is flying back to Washington.
Pelosi is going to be discussing the 25th Amendment tomorrow.

Well, I don't think it is. Just because he had fake cures in the past, doesn't mean this one is. And I feel like the vaccine will be after the election not before. I feel like it be at least by the end of this year. And here's a question for you, what if Biden himself promotes a vaccine after he wins election? Will you still have the same argument for him, or you change your cue because it's Biden and not Trump?
So actually, in this case, yes, it WOULD be Trump making the vaccine, not doctors. Because's he demanding literally anthing that could be called a cure be put out, no matter how innefective.
I really don't see that at all. It's still being created by doctors even if it comes out early than predicted. Unless Dr. Fauci tells us that's it bad, then I listen to him and not take it. I just think it's a bad move by Kamala Harris really because it still feels like she is saying "vaccines are bad" and anti-vaxxers could honestly use that to justify it's bad.

Well damn. He is being an hypocrite. Well, at least Biden won't get the virus, plus this is gonna give him bonus points with voters too, I bet.

Age equals wisdom. Have you ever seen a foolish old person?
My grandmother, Maria. How she made it to her mid 70's is a mystery.
-
Yeah, I met some awesome old folks that actually have wisdom, and it's nice to also hear their stories from before I was born. Though sadly, there's also some old people that are just annoying and dumb like Trump. Honestly, Trump is probably our dumbest president in terms of intelligence. I don't think he even done college or finished it if he did try to go. You can even tell he's less smart because of how he talks, he has very bad English and speaks like a child.

And Trump actually did graduate from University of Pennsylvania (how his grades were are unknown). And if you look back at, say, the 90s, he was a lot more on top of it. Always been an idiot, but there is little doubt in my mind that he's got dementia or some other sort of mental illness that is making him even worse.

! 1/ [DEBATE RECAP] Pence repeatedly interrupted Sen. Kamala Harris, ignored the moderator, went over time, and refused to directly answer the questions asked during the vice presidential debate. “Mr. Vice President, I’m speaking … I’m speaking,” Harris repeatedly had to say when Pence interrupted her. And, about an hour into the debate, moderator Susan Page noted that Pence had spoken more than Harris while trying to stop Pence from taking more time than allotted. Harris, meanwhile, called the Trump administration’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic “the greatest failure of any presidential administration in the history of our country,” saying “this administration has forfeited their right to reelection” due to its “ineptitude” and “incompetence.” Harris added “they knew what was happening and they didn’t tell you.” A fly also landed in Pence’s hair for two minutes. Other than that, the debate was more civil and substantive than last week’s failure, which was driven by Trump’s constant interruptions. (CNN / Bloomberg / NBC News / Politico / ABC News / New York Times / The Guardian)
2/ Trump refused to participate in the next presidential debate after the bipartisan Commission on Presidential Debates announced that it would be held virtually due to coronavirus concerns. The decision was made “in order to protect the health and safety of all involved,” the commission said in a statement. While Biden’s campaign agreed to the new format, Trump tweeted: “I’m not going to waste my time on a virtual debate. It’s not what debating is all about. It’s ridiculous.” Hours later, Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien proposed pushing the October 15 debate back a week and then move the third debate to October 29 – days before the November 3 election. Biden’s campaign, however, rejected the proposal, saying: “Trump chose today to pull out of the October 15th debate” and his “erratic behavior does not allow him to rewrite the calendar, and pick new dates of his choosing.” Biden will instead participate in a town hall moderated by ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos in Philadelphia on Oct. 15, taking questions directly from voters. According to Stepien, Trump will “pass on this sad excuse to bail out Joe Biden and do a rally instead.” Candidates are not required to participate in presidential debates. (CNN / Axios / CNBC / ABC News / New York Times / Politico / NBC News / Bloomberg / Washington Post)
3/ The coronavirus outbreak has infected “34 White House staffers and other contacts,” according to an internal FEMA memo. D.C. Health Director LaQuandra Nesbitt and health officers from nine counties and cities across the Washington region are asking anyone who worked in the White House in the past two weeks to get tested. ! 4/ Trump suggested that he might have contracted COVID-19 from Gold Star family members despite the veterans’ group involved in organizing the event confirming all attendees tested negative before the ceremony and all are “doing well and exhibit no symptoms of COVID-19.” The Sept. 27 event was held indoors at the White House – one day after a Supreme Court event in the Rose Garden, where multiple attendees have subsequently tested positive. It is not publicy known where Trump contracted COVID-19 because the White House has refused to provide a timeline of Trump’s coronavirus tests in the days leading up to his diagnosis. Nevertheless, Trump said that he “figured there would be a chance” he would become infected with the coronavirus, because Gold Star family members “come within an inch of my face, sometimes. They want to hug me, and they want to kiss me. And they do.” (Politico / NBC News / CNN)
5/ Trump spent an hour downplaying his COVID-19 infection, attacking Kamala Harris, accusing political opponents of conspiring against him, and demanding that Attorney General William Barr indict Biden, Barack Obama, and Hillary Clinton for unspecified crimes. In the interview with the Fox Business – his first since testing positive for the coronavirus – Trump claimed that “I‘m back because I’m a perfect physical specimen, and I’m extremely young,” adding “Remember this: When you catch it you get better, and then you’re immune.” Trump also called Harris, the first woman of color on a major party ticket, a “monster.” (Politico / NBC News / CNN / Vox)
! * The experimental antibody cocktail that Trump received as part of his COVID-19 treatment relied on human fetal tissue his administration opposes. In June 2019, the Trump administration suspended federal funding for most new scientific research involving fetal tissue derived from abortions. Trump has praised Regeneron’s treatment as “miracles coming down from God,” calling it a “cure” for COVID-19 and promising to provide it free to any patient who needed it. (Washington Post / New York Times)
! 6/ Trump required personnel at Walter Reed Medical Center to sign nondisclosure agreements in Nov. 2019 before they could be involved in his treatment. At least two doctors refused to sign nondisclosure agreements during Trump’s Nov. 16 visit and were not permitted to be involved in his care. Trump required signed NDAs from both physicians and non-medical staff, most of whom are active-duty military service members. The reason for Trump’s visit last year is still unknown. Existing legal protections under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act automatically prohibited anyone providing medical services from disclosing a patient’s health information without consent. It is unknown whether any Walter Reed personnel were asked to sign nondisclosure agreements during Trump’s recent treatment of COVID-19. (NBC News / Washington Post / CNN)
! * Day 1033: Trump made an unscheduled visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to “begin portions of his routine annual physical exam” that included a “quick exam and labs,” according to the White House.- Day 1219: Trump hasn’t completed his annual 2020 physical after claiming six months ago that he had started the process. The White House declined to explain why.
- Day 1321 Trump denied that his unscheduled visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center last November was because he had “suffered a series of mini-strokes.” No media outlets have reported that Trump had a series of mini-strokes. Trump, however, tweeted that it “Never happened to THIS candidate – FAKE NEWS.” Hours later, Trump’s physician issued an official statement saying Trump has not had a stroke, mini-stroke or heart-related emergencies. ! 1. Federal prosecutors charged a top GOP fundraiser for conspiring to act as a foreign agent. The charging document says Elliott Broidy, a former top fundraiser for Trump, agreed to lobby the Trump administration and the Justice Department to drop or favorably resolve the investigation of a foreign national for his role in the embezzlement of billions of dollars from the Malaysia state development fund. (Washington Post / New York Times / CNBC)- Facebook permanently banned a U.S. marketing firm working on behalf of pro-Trump student organization Turning Point USA and Inclusive Conservation Group. The groups used fake personas to comment on news stories to praise Trump and criticize Biden. Experts described the operation as a domestic “troll farm.” (Axios / Washington Post / Wall Street Journal)
- Federal and state officials in Michigan arrested and charged 13 men in connection with a failed plan to kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer. That group repeatedly met throughout the summer for firearms training and combat drills. They attempted to build explosives, surveilled Whitmer’s vacation home, and had indicated that they wanted to take her hostage before the election in November. In April, thousands of people gathered at the State Capitol to protest Whitmer’s executive orders to shut down most of the state to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Trump encouraged the protests, tweeting, “LIBERATE MICHIGAN!” The FBI-led probe began in March and focused on militia groups’ discussing the “violent overthrow” of government and law enforcement officials. (NBC News / New York Times / The Detroit News)
I don't have a source on-hand right this second, but if anyone sees anything about Pence having COVID, I've heard that a news network accidentally released one of those "pre-written obituary" type articles about Pence having caught it. So take any claims he does with a grain of salt unless it's picked up on a wider scope.
-
We've only had one President born after 1946.
The…. What!!??
That really put things into perspective.
-
So Trump, in his typical temperament has decided to comment on the militia supporting him planned to kidnap the Governor of Michigan.
He's attacking the Governor by saying how bad she's doing at her job, how the State needs to open everything up now from lockdown, and how she's ungrateful "his" justice department stopped the terrorists. Then attacked "left wing violence". Triggered by Trump thinking she called him a white supremacists, when what she said was that he refused to condemn white supremacists. Which he has. And attacking her after this really doesn't help his case.
-
There's well documented info from the FBI that the main terrorist threat inside US is right wing groups, but no it's the dangerous left with their free healthcare and equal treatment to everybody that are the true criminals.

Guess this isn’t a good time to point out that Bill Barr apparently went on the record saying he knew nothing about the plot despite the fact that as the head of the DOJ he would have been among the first people to know about it.
-
So I've seen a clip of Trump failing to answer questions from Sean Hannity (while coughing and sneezing), and he's going to host a "virtual rally" on Rush Limbaugh's shows this Friday.
I'm sorry if this is a jinx, but I think this man is over and it's going to be recorded when he finally collapses.

Presidents from the 70's would need to be in there 30's so that is not very surprising. I don't think US have the worse case considering the age of their rulers compare to others countries

Why did they make it age 36 to be president? I swear back in the 18th century, people died early on like 40s/50s maybe live to 60s? So, why make this decision? I think it should be lowered at least to 25, that's the age when the brain is fully developed and a person can make the most rational decisions.
Age gives you experience, but not necessarily wisdom.
Yeah. I have a lot of experience, though I did gain wisdom over time, but I'm still learning, and I will never stop learning. That's what some people tend to forget when they get older, they stop trying to learn and grow. I'm trying not to end up like that when I'm older, I wanna keep educating myself and grow stronger with goals, you know?
And Trump actually did graduate from University of Pennsylvania (how his grades were are unknown). And if you look back at, say, the 90s, he was a lot more on top of it. Interesting, I don't know much about his history. Yeah, he probably does have some kind of mental illness… I wonder when it started for him.... I think it's probably gotten worse to be honest, with how he debated Hillary versus Biden.
the militia supporting him planned to kidnap the Governor of Michigan.
Oki, I just heard of this, and then saw it on allsides. Like what the hell, that's just fucked up x.x Hope she's safe from those crazy people ><

Just check the news. There's stories about Pelosi having a 25th amendment talk tomorrow, and stories abotu Pence cancelling all his events and flying back.
Well, honestly I don't trust Biden either, but I'm not gonna stop taking a vaccine because I don't trust him. Honestly, at this point if Dr. Fauci, head of the CDC says not to take the vaccine from Trump, then I won't take it.
That's what Fauci has been saying, so..
Just because Trump made mistakes in the past, doesn't mean he would be wrong every time.
Trump has lied more than 20,000 times on record, and has consistently downplayed literally everything about Covid, and has already claimed half a dozen cures without any medical evidence behind it. His medical team are yes men that will say whatever he wants and aren't real doctors. (Just look at how much they've covered up his current medical condition, refusing to reveal x-ray results or how high his fever was, etc. ) . He will say literally ANYTHING to get approval numbers up.
ALL the medical science, ALL OF IT, universally agreed on, says the earliest we can expect a vaccine, and have it properly tested, is mid 2021, and that's best case possible scenario. And even if we get that, its still going to take most of another year to get a proper number of doses ready, not to mention we have a shortage of the glass vials needed.
Best case scenario we have something ready to deploy to emergency cases by middle of next year, but there won't be anything ready for wide deployment for some time after that.
Anything that is promised to be ready in November or December of this year is a hoax and has NOT been properly tested.
When real doctors say something is ready, and its been certified by other countries and NOIT this current administration, we'll be in buisness.
-
Just check the news. There's stories about Pelosi having a 25th amendment talk tomorrow, and stories abotu Pence cancelling all his events and flying back.
Ah…. well it isn't on allsides.com yet, that's the only site I really try to use for news. As I want to know what bias it has left, central, or right. It probably come up later on there if it's extremely important.
That's what Fauci has been saying, so..
Um…. Fauci is saying one be out in November or December....
Here's a quote:
He mentioned that in the United States there are currently five vaccine candidates in phase three advanced trials involving tens of thousands of people. While he is currently unable to say which candidate is best, Fauci suggested that a vaccine would be ready by November or December of this year.
Sooooo I'm trusting Dr. Fauci on this, and I will be taking the vaccine, unless he says underwise. Also the article is quite recent too, 8 October 2020.
Trump has lied more than 20,000 times on record, and has consistently downplayed literally everything about Covid, and has already claimed half a dozen cures without any medical evidence behind it. (Just look at how much they've covered up his current medical condition, refusing to reveal x-ray results or how high his fever was, etc. ) . He will say literally ANYTHING to get approval numbers up.
Why do we need to know about his health? Who cares if they are refusing to reveal Trump's health is? And where is the proof that the men you say are not real doctors besides your analysis of the situation?
And yeah so what he lied? All politicians even Biden. Might as well not trust any politician because of all the lies they make. Plus, if we get an actual vaccine and Trump announced it, we would see it physically in the news with people getting it as proof that he was telling the truth.
Well, that seems so. But if one is released early in the United States, there probably be some risk involved since it's not fully tested, but it seems Russia and China both started to pull out their own vaccines even earlier. There are not fully tested, in the phase III trial, but there seems to be hope for them.
Anything that is promised to be ready in November or December of this year is a hoax and has NOT been properly tested.
When real doctors say something is ready, and its been certified by other countries and NOIT this current administration, we'll be in buisness.
Well it's not really a hoax… as Russia and China both rolled out vaccines recently. Also, Dr. Fauci said one be out in November or December, and he's the head of the CDC and I trust his word. So, is he a liar now and making a hoax? >.>

You are of course right, Trump is not perfect and some of his decisions are extremely difficult to understand and accept. But we don't know what exactly is the situation in the world with Covid. I don't think that in the whole world there is maximum coverage for testing and real statistics are provided. We complain that we have chaos, but when I read the news on Eastern Europe, my hair stands on end. In Russia and Belarus, there are two senile people who have seized power and are holding elections for the sake of appearance. In Ukraine, they chose a clown of some kind. I don't know if there is an ideal president somewhere who will be enough for the people.

Yeah… honestly I thought Obama was a great leader, but he probably had his flaws too. I really did not pay attention much to what he done besides him making the ACA and improving healthcare. I know he was a good speaker and was very motivating to say the least.
Honestly, I think any president/prime minster/etc. will be imperfect because of humans logically making mistakes, lying, etc. It sucks, but guess we just have to accept it and try to see the good in all the bad to survive in this world. That's what I try to do honestly. I think there's a little good in every human.
-
Ah…. well it isn't on allsides.com yet, that's the only site I really try to use for news. As I want to know what bias it has left, central, or right. It probably come up later on there if it's extremely important.
Um.... Fauci is saying one be out in November or December....
Here's a quote:
Sooooo I'm trusting Dr. Fauci on this, and I will be taking the vaccine, unless he says underwise. Also the article is quite recent too, 8 October 2020.
Fauci's lied to the public multiple times so I don't really feel safe trusting him.
Unfortunately we're operating mostly in the dark, with the CDC, WHO, COVID task force, mainstream media, and of course most of the stuff you see on social media having proven themselves untrustworthy. -
Far as trusting Trump re: anything in general but a vaccine in particular, let me remind you of this story from just last week:
Trump is the “single largest driver of misinformation” about COVID-19, according to a study by Cornell University that analyzed 38 million worldwide articles about the pandemic. Researchers found that nearly 38% of the “misinformation conversation” began with Trump driving ”spikes” about “miracle cures” for COVID-19, such as the use of disinfectants, ultraviolet light, or unproven treatments like hydroxychloroquine.*

You are trying to hire someone for a multi years job, and changing them in the middle is difficult and costly for the safety of the project and the people involved. That person is currently sick, and doesn’t want to give you details. The job is very stressful and the disease is known to leave a lot of side effects. On that job depends the safety of millions of lives, and will have an impact to the future of everyone involved for many years to come.
And I’m not talking about trump, but about my favorite dictator who died 3 months after getting “elected” again, and then he had 0 public appareances or addresses until his “death” in March.
Politicians have lost their entitlement to privacy, with the amount of power, money and lives that they handle, Their medical status is the concern of everyone.

And yeah so what he lied? All politicians even Biden.
Not to the extent that Trump does.

lmao
i love the big ten football one, something he was touting at the debate, is mostly false -
And I’m not talking about trump, but about my favorite dictator who died 3 months after getting “elected” again, and then he had 0 public appareances or addresses until his “death” in March.
Good ol' Hugito father of the new age populism that scourges latin america. At least he reincarnated on that bird that flew over Maduro in that on episode of his TV show.

I just want to get a vaccine and not worry about getting sick.
They mad
Well damn. Trump does not deserve a Nobel Peace Prize; he never done anything in the name of peace.
Far as trusting Trump re: anything in general but a vaccine in particular, let me remind you of this story from just last week:

Yes, I know about his previous lies. I just there's always a chance he be right with this, you know?
Politicians have lost their entitlement to privacy, with the amount of power, money and lives that they handle, Their medical status is the concern of everyone.
I disagree with this heavily. I feel like every person deserves to have some type of privacy to their lives. I honestly don't care about politicians' lives, only what they do as a job. It's none of my business of what they do behind the office.
Not to the extent that Trump does.

Well, I do know this. I never said that Biden lied more than Trump. I meant that Biden still lied about some things and is not 100% perfect. Just not the rate of it. Sorry for the confusion.
Honestly, the vaccine thing is the only thing I actually trust from Trump if one does come out and he promotes it, as I know previous vaccines for other illnesses worked. Other stuff I take with a grain of salt from him. That's really all there is to me about it. (I wish I was better at explaining things x.x) Well, also what Trump promotes is in agreement with Dr. Fauci and the CDC of course too. I trust them more than Trump, even if they lied some in the past. I just want to not worry about getting the Coronavirus… and have life return to normalcy >.<
Usually with Trump, most of the time it's too good to be true if he says something I'm interested in like going into space, which we done nothing. But with a vaccine, if he promotes one, and doctors actually administer it, I can at least trust that. I'm a weirdo I know >.<
-
Ah…. well it isn't on allsides.com yet, that's the only site I really try to use for news.
Just google it, you'll turn up a dozen examples. It's NEWS, its not political bias.
Um…. Fauci is saying one be out in November or December....
Fauci started out being dependable and telling the truth and opposite of what Trump said, but somewhere along the way he fell in line and started blatantly lying so he wouldn't get fired. Like, really blatant obvious lies.
Which yes, include "oh yeah sure we'll have a cure by the time of the election. You can thank trump for that."
Fauci has decades behind him through multiple administrations, so he's typically trustworthy, but not while Trump is in charge of what he's allowed to say.
Literally ALL the science has been saying for months the earliest we can expect a vaccine is middle of next year, if literally everything possible goes right, and wide dispersement not till later.
Why do we need to know about his health? Who cares if they are refusing to reveal Trump's health is?
He is the president. And there's an election in three weeks. It's important to know that he's not currently mentally impaired due to drugs from his treatment, ( a very common side effect) and that he's not going to die next week. Is he calling the shots right now? Is someone else? Is he defying doctor orders? Is he going to spread his disease if he has a rally at the end of the week like he's planning?
Yeah you're health doesn't matter so much if you're Phil who works at the bank, but leader of the free world we kind of need to know.
And where is the proof that the men you say are not real doctors besides your analysis of the situation?
They refused to give straight answers on what Trump's temperature was, how recently he last tested negative, what his chest x-rays show, etc. They are covering up BASIC information, so if they're covering that, what serious things might they be hiding?
Even before Trump got Covid he was on multiple medications and seriously overweight, and had a mysterious hospital visit last year and any signs of having had a stroke, like walking poorly and not being able to lift a glass of water.
They're not even willing to admit Trump is overweight and are still giving his weight as something like 240 pounds which is flat out impossible.
Was Trump on a ventilator last weekend? Was he unconscious? Did he order anything important while on 8 diferent mind altering drugs?
And yeah so what he lied? All politicians even Biden
Someone above provided numbers.
There's a difference between being wrong about something, making a promise you can't deliver, and what Trump does… which is flat out distort reality and lie as much as a dozen times in a single paragraph.
If a Politician says "I'm going to get you this thing" and then doesn't manage it, thats a failure to meet a promise, but its not a lie.
If a politician says "I'm going to lower your taxes" but doesn't quite nail that, its one thing.
If a politician says "Im going to build a trillion dollar wall that crosses the entire continent, AND I'm going to get a different country to pay for it", that's another. If a politician says "Hillary Clinton is running a deep state conspiracy to make e look bad while selling children from under a pizza hut", there is a difference. I
. Might as well not trust any politician because of all the lies they make.
Average politician lies about 20% of the time, mostly minor things, and only maybe 1% boldfaced outright lies that are completely wrong with no basis in reality. And given how much they're quoted and on record, and how many topics they have to cover, a lot of that can be chalked up to just human error.
Trump lies SEVENTY ONE PERCENT OF THE TIME, and if you add half truths, it goes up to EIGHTY FOUR PERCENT.20,000 documented lies in under 4 years.
Plus, if we get an actual vaccine and Trump announced it, we would see it physically in the news with people getting it as proof that he was telling the truth.
Just seeing people doesn't mean they're getting anything effective. Untested drugs with who knows what side effects, or that aren't actually all that effective at stopping covid, placebos, are absolutely things Trump would force the FDA to push out to make him look better. He's already claimed multiple new miracle cures over the last several months, none of them with basis in reality..
Well it's not really a hoax… as Russia and China both rolled out vaccines recently.
Russia and China don't exactly have honest leaders in charge of their media either.
Do you also believe Kim Jong-Il had a world record golf game where he got 11 holes in one? Or that he could drive at age 3?
-
Just google it, you'll turn up a dozen examples. It's NEWS, its not political bias.
Well, there's news, there's analysis of said news to come to a conclusion and there's opinion. >.< But I try to check it out lol
Edit: And I did. Seems it's just Nancy Pelosi acting like a bitch in trying to remove Trump in every way she gets. Bleh. I don't really like her and she honestly needs to be replaced. But that's a topic for another day.
Fauci started out being dependable and telling the truth and opposite of what Trump said, but somewhere along the way he fell in line and started blatantly lying so he wouldn't get fired. Like, really blatant obvious lies.

Literally ALL the science has been saying for months the earliest we can expect a vaccine is middle of next year, if literally everything possible goes right, and wide dispersement not till later.
I doubt it's of Trump being in charge of what he says, when especially he was very much attacking Donald Trump for other things in the past. You say all of the science, but the science of Dr. Fauci says earlier, but because Trump is president he is "of course lying." And Russia and China already started to do their own vaccines as well. So, yeah it seems to be a bit earlier, but we are in the final stages of the vaccine, so it be more like the middle of the year. Can you give me some sources to prove your point?
He is the president. And there's an election in three weeks. It's important to know that he's not currently mentally impaired due to drugs from his treatment, ( a very common side effect) and that he's not going to die next week. Yeah you're health doesn't matter so much if you're Phil who works at the bank, but leader of the free world we kind of need to know.
Honestly, I don't really give a shit about his health.
They refused to give straight answers on what Trump's temperature was, how recently he last tested negative, what his chest x-rays show, etc. They are covering up BASIC information, so if they're covering that, what serious things might they be hiding?
Again, there's a thing called HIPPA, it's not their job to give out information about a patient unless the patient allows it. Actually, if they break confindelitaly they will lose their jobs. It's the same with every doctor. So, it makes sense why they not giving answers, honestly it's not any of our business. You brought up some points in the previous paragraph, but honestly even Trump has the right to privacy even if he is president.
Even before Trump got Covid he was on multiple medications and seriously overweight, and had a mysterious hospital visit last year and any signs of having had a stroke, like walking poorly and not being able to lift a glass of water.
Okay? Like I said I don't care about his health.
They're not even willing to admit Trump is overweight and are still giving his weight as something like 240 pounds which is flat out impossible.
Um….. Trump is as overweight as I am in terms of obesity. I'm 270 pounds now, but I don't look it. I honestly think it's the same for him. I knew a gal that looked heavy but weighed less than what she was. Soooo yeah.
Was Trump on a ventilator last weekend? Was he unconscious? Did he order anything important while on 8 diferent mind altering drugs?
Again, none of my business to know. It means nothing to me. Even if Trump got drunk, well that's his life. I really don't understand why you need to know these things about his life? Yeah, I guess if he's dying, but even then, why should I know specific details about his temperature or what drugs he's on? I really don't, and honestly most don't care. And this goes for any other politician like Obama, I remember the right trying to make a big deal because he went out to golf, like who cares what he did for fun?
Someone above provided numbers.

Just seeing people doesn't mean they're getting anything effective. He's already claimed multiple new miracle cures over the last several months, none of them with basis in reality..
Well, the one with hydrochlorothiazide was a possible cure, as it seemed to have worked, but according to the FDA there seems to be side effects with being treated for Covid. That's the only "miracle cure" that Trump really mentioned, not sure about the others. But again a vaccine is quite different from some random drug name. I trust vaccines in general lol
Russia and China don't exactly have honest leaders in charge of their media either.
Well, the articles for Russia and China were not their own news but regular news sites.
Do you also believe Kim Jong-Il had a world record golf game where he got 11 holes in one? Or that he could drive at age 3?
And this is just a fallacy, and an extreme one. The leaders of Russia and China are not as crazy as he is. >.> Plus, again reported by several different sites and not just Russian or Chinese news.
Anyways, I'm just gonna agree to disagree on this topic. I'm still taking the vaccine whether it comes out when Trump is president or Biden, it don't matter. To me vaccines are a big cure to any illness, as they helped a lot in the past. Sure one vaccine in the phase III advanced trail has some risks, but well I take that risk. I'm sick of this pandemic and want life to return to normal eventually. Unless the FDA/Dr. Fauci say otherwise. That's just my take on it. Thanks for your input on the situation though, I understand at least where Kamala Harris is coming from even if I disagree.

Just google it, you'll turn up a dozen examples. It's NEWS, its not political bias.
If you're going to make a claim about an issue, Robby, you should be putting out your sources on your own post. Telling others to "google it" is the equivalent of telling others to do your homework. It's not starlalilymoon's job or anyone else's job to do that but your own.
-
An actual vaccine will be good.
State propaganda from countries being run by dictators is not actual progress on anything.
And the placebo that will miraculously be announced, coincidentally, two or three days before the election, won't be good either.
@Kaba:
If you're going to make a claim about an issue, Robby, you should be putting out your sources on your own post. Telling others to "google it" is the equivalent of telling others to do your homework. It's not starlalilymoon's job or anyone else's job to do that but your own.
I'm not saying hunt down something obscure on some fringe website. I'm not hiding a link because I know its a propaganda site and I'm ashamed of it, or because its from a known conspiracy theorist…
I'm saying, "I have already relayed this news. If you want more details, you can look it up yourself."
Type "pelosi 25th ammendment" or "pence cancel trip" into google and you will literally get 20 different stories about it and you can pick your own news source.
If you want cnn or fox news or apnews or globalnews or the guardian take your own personal pick,
Yeah if there was a specific article I wanted to share that had a specific insight or editorial slant I though was relevant, or only one place had the story currently, or it was something that was hard to believe and it really needed the proof, I'd link it, but general news being reported on literally every news site doesn't need the extra step once the bare news of it has been relayed.
Just a couple days ago when it was announced Trump had Covid, I attributed MSNBC on first announcement because that was the only place carrying it. But then a few minutes later CNN had it and then Trump's own twitter did and then everywhere else did, so at that point it stopped needing the specific credit since you could find the news literally wherever you wanted..
I assume most people in this thread are keeping up with the news on their own and already have their preferences for news sources and are already seeing the point I was discussing... as we've been doing in this thread for literal years now. Same way the manga discussion chapters assume you read the latest chapter before you start talking about it.
Link when its important to, or obscure, just commenting when its general news is fine.
.

Just wanted to point out that Fauci is definitely not the head of either of the Centers for Disease Control or Prevention.
The Trump administration has already tried to push back on the FDA’s strict guidelines for development and testing of vaccines. It would be very suspect if only Trump and members of his administration are the ones that support a vaccine that comes out earlier than usual. Of course, it should be everyone’s responsibility to get a properly tested and verified COVID 19 vaccine, but the key words here are “properly tested”.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I’d also like to share something I’ve read recently: It is extremely important, especially this year, that everyone who can does their best to get a live antigen flu vaccine, and to do so as soon as possible.
First off, the flu and the coronavirus have a lot of shared symptoms. Getting the flu vaccine will help you to know where your symptoms are coming from, should they arise. Furthermore, there’s a lot of research from the last decade or so which indicates that live vaccines can, in addition to helping the body develop antibodies for the targeted antigen, have a positive general effect on the immune system which may help the body fight many other types of infection for several months after administration.
Get your flu vaccine this year! And if you can, insist on the nasal spray variety which contains live, weakened, versions of the antigen.
-
Finally, watched the vice presidential debate. It honestly was way better than Trump vs. Biden. Both Kamala Harris and Mike Pence were respectful to each other. Though, honestly I wish they answer the damn question instead of going on a tangent or a completely different topic altogether. That and both liked to go over their time limit and kept wanting to keep talking. >.>
It sucks that Biden won't ban fracking, at least he has a better plan for the environment than Donald Trump. It was pretty funny when Mike Pence said that Americans care about the environment… like have you seen how much people litter? And nothing's being done about it? It just feel like most don't give a shit in America. :/
Man, Mike Pence hates leaving a topic, he kept wanting more time and even went so far to use his own time to answer a finished topic instead of focusing on the current one. The man really wants the last word in. Sheesh. >.>
Though Kamala Harris's story that she had, that was honestly pretty powerful. I also like how she seems very strong-willed and told Mike Pence to shut it in a polite and assertive way.
Though it's annoying how Harris avoided the topic of "packing" the Supreme Court. I'm against packing of any kind, and honestly I think the seat should be filled. Yeah, it might or might not give me unfavorable results, but honestly I think I seat should be filled right away. A seat should have been filled back when Obama was president, and not Democrats are doing the same shit that Republicans did four five years ago. =_=
I'm glad that Harris and Biden have a police reform plan. Hopefully they keep that promise because shit needs to change, too many people get killed by cops for no reason.
Damn, that fly on Mike Pence! How the hell did he did not feel that, I'm surprised Harris was not giggling at it, guess she didn't notice xD Wish someone told Mike that hey you got a fly on your head though!
Also, Mike Pence going on about how Trump is gonna win the election... he funny lol, especially since polls show that Trump is losing badly and failing.
I did love that final question from the 8th grader! We need to stop fighting against each other over political beliefs and work together as one country, one people. Though I doubt our government folks will start working together any time soon, which sucks. It really sucks that people hate others because of a different political belief. Even with people I disagreed in this very thread, I don't hate any of you, I respect your viewpoint even if I don't agree with what you say.
Lastly, this was honestly a way better debate compared to Trump vs. Biden. Both Pence and Harris are slightly better than their presidential counterparts. I'm glad both were at least respectful of one another, I think they don't hate each other compared to Biden and Trump to be honest.

I will make sure I get it as soon as I see my PCP! I believe I be seeing them next week! :3

I'm going to chime in real quick. In my opinion, the health of an elected official is absolutely our business IF it is potentially lethal, if it affects their psyche in a way that hampers their effectiveness at their duties, or if the treatment for it can effect them mentally in a way that does the same. They are elected officials, and as such, are servants to their constituents, even those who didn't vote for them. I think you're right in that a Doctor's oath prevents them from disclosing medical information to the public, but it's absolutely Trump and his administration's duty to update the American Public if he falls into any of the above categories and follow the correct procedures in relation to them. This is mostly for mental issues, since FDR proved a president an be immensely effective with physical disabilities.
edit: I want to reiterate how serious I am about elected officials as servants. Since at least Rome, we've let those we've voted for build up too much power. Typically this happens a few hundred years after the start of a system that has outgrown its usefulness. Right-wingers worship the Constitution just like Romans worshipped the Senate. The Constitution will let us down if we don't update it to reflect the very different times we are in than when it was written. The founders drafted the laws based on fixing the mistakes of the past, with wiggle room to do the same in the future. We should never feel out of line for wanting to do so.

It's not the Democrats who are being the hypocrites here. In 2016, a Supreme Court seat opened up much sooner compared to the election as opposed to this year, and Obama nominated a replacement, Merrick Garland, accordingly. They did try to fill the seat; Republicans were the ones who refused to (because it was a liberal justice), and insisted things like "the people should have a say in who fills the seat" as their reasoning. Numerous Republican politicians were quoted as saying that the position shouldn't be filled until the election was over and we had our new President. It was total bullshit, but that was the justification they used.
But now that an opening came up much closer this time, suddenly most of those politicians have changed their tune and started insisting that the seat needs filling right now and this time is somehow different from last time (it's not), and super-fast-tracking the seat. Democrats aren't being hypocrites by insisting that the seat shouldn't be filled yet; we're calling the Republicans out for going back on what they said four years ago because what they said then is suddenly inconvenient for them now, which makes them the hypocrites.

Garland was a moderate, a Republican at that. Their issue was they figured it's Obama's last term. "If we win the white house instead of having a moderate or liberal justice we can have a dyed in the wool conservative who'll give us what we want". Never mind with the vacancy they had a 4-4 split and had they lost the election like they should of it would've been moot (mostly).

Oops, my bad, I didn't mean to say "liberal" there. Still doesn't change the hypocrisy with the reasoning they gave then vs their actions now, tho, yeah.

Yes, I know about his previous lies. I just there's always a chance he be right with this, you know?
No. No there is not.
If Trump were right, it would not be because he's actively trying to be, it would be an "even a broken clock is right twice a day" moment. Trusting Donald Trump to do anything but tell the most blatant of lies when he thinks it will be to his advantage is folly in the extreme. If Donald Trump tells you the sky is blue, look up and double-check, odds are it's nighttime.
And yeah so what he lied? All politicians even Biden.
I'd like you to stop and consider something here; something I've seen mentioned on the other forum I follow politics on. This statement, this assumption, this logic, helps the Trumps and McConnells of the world. It makes their behavior look less reprehensible than it really is because of people thinking "everyone's doing it, they're only a little worse than the rest." It normalizes exactly the kind of behavior that statement implies it does not want to see.
Don't expect the God's Honest Truth , but see the distinction that Joe Biden at his worst is nowhere compared to Trump even at his best. Even if every negative thing ever said about or accused of Biden were God's Honest Truth (tm), he'd still be the lesser of two evils to Donald Trump.
Donald Trump has done absolutely nothing to warrant any kind of faith and trust in anyone who isn't chugging Jim Jones' Special Blend Almond Flavorade by the gallon.
No, no, it's totally different this time. You see, now pay attention, the President and the senate Majority are the same party!
I'm not kidding, that's exactly the statement Mitch McConnell made to justify rushing a replacement for Ginsberg.

In his floor remarks Monday, McConnell argued that this time the White House and the Senate are controlled by the same party and therefore the Senate should confirm President Donald Trump’s nominee.
“Apart from that one strange exception, no Senate has failed to confirm a nominee in the circumstances that face us now,” McConnell said, referring to Supreme Court Justice Abe Fortas, who served on the high court in the 1960s but resigned over ethics issues. “The historical precedent is overwhelming and it runs in one direction. If our Democratic colleagues want to claim they are outraged, they can only be outraged at the plain facts of American history.”
McConnell added that in 2016, Obama asked “Senate Republicans for an unusual favor that had last been granted nearly 130 years prior.”
The Kentucky Republican further highlighted that the Senate is merely responding to voters, noting that Senate Republicans expanded their majority in 2018 after the contentious Supreme Court confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh. Sen. Susan Collins is however facing a backlash this year from Democratic voters over her support for Kavanaugh and is currently trailing in the polls in her Senate race in Maine.
"Ironically, it was the Democratic leader who went out of his way to declare the 2018 midterms a referendum on the Senate’s handling of the Supreme Court," McConnell said. “In his final speech before Kavanaugh was confirmed, he yelled over and over at the American people to ‘go vote!’ He told Americans to go elect senators based on how they’d approached their advice-and-consent duties over those weeks. Unfortunately for him, many Americans did just that."

! * * *
! 1/ House Democrats introduced legislation to create a bipartisan commission to review whether Trump and future presidents are capable of carrying out their duties. The legislation would allow Congress to intervene under the 25th Amendment and remove the president from executive duties. Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the measure “is not about President Trump,” but suggested that Trump needs to disclose more about his health after his COVID-19 diagnosis. Pelosi also noted Trump’s “strange tweet” halting talks on new coronavirus aid and his subsequent effort to reverse course. Trump responded on Twitter, claiming that “Crazy Nancy is the one who should be under observation,” adding: “They don’t call her Crazy for nothing!” Trump also retweeted Republican allies who baselessly said he “wouldn’t put it past Speaker Pelosi to stage a coup.” While the 25th amendment does allow Pelosi to create a panel to review Trump or any other president’s health and fitness for office, the House will not be able to remove Trump from office without the consent of Pence and members of his cabinet. 2/ The White House is preparing a $1.8 trillion coronavirus relief offer despite Mitch McConnell indicating that a stimulus deal was “unlikely” before the election. Trump, tweeting that “Covid Relief Negotiations are moving along. Go Big,” is reportedly “desperate” for a deal, but has “zero leverage” to force Senate leadership to support the bill crafted by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In the talks with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin before Trump abruptly ended negotiations Tuesday, Pelosi had been pursuing a $2.2 trillion boost to the economy – a scaled-back version of the Democrats’ earlier $3.5 trillion legislation. Trump, meanwhile, told Rush Limbaugh that he wants an even bigger stimulus than what Democrats have offered so far. Shortly after, however, the White House communications director, Alyssa Farah, told reporters the administration wants a package below $2 trillion. 3/ Trump’s tax records show that more than $21 million in unusual payments were routed from a Las Vegas hotel Trump owns with Phil Ruffin through other Trump companies and paid out in cash. Most of the money flowed through a company called Trump Las Vegas Sales and Marketing that had little previous income, no clear business purpose, and no employees. It was characterized as a business expense. Seven weeks before the 2016 election, the Trump-Ruffin partnership borrowed $30 million from City National Bank in Los Angeles. On Oct. 28, Trump contributed $10 million to his campaign. (New York Times)
4/ Trump received a $21.1 million tax break for preserving the forest around his New York mansion after a 2016 appraisal valued the estate at $56.5 million — more than double the value assessed by the three Westchester county towns that each contained a piece of the property. New York Attorney General Letitia James is now investigating whether the Trump Organization improperly inflated the value of Seven Springs as part of the conservation easement on the property. The investigation also scrutinizes valuations, tax burdens, and conservation easements at Trump’s holdings in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City. Eric Trump sat for a deposition in the case on Monday. (Washington Post)
5/ Dr. Sean Conley reported that Trump “has completed his course of therapy for COVID-19,” and he expects Trump to “return to public engagements” on Saturday. Dr. Conley, who has previously acknowledged providing the public with a positive view of Trump’s condition to satisfy the administration, did not say when Trump’s last negative coronavirus test occurred before his diagnosis. Shortly after Dr. Conley’s memo, Trump’s campaign called for the second presidential debate to take place as originally scheduled. The Commission on Presidential Debates, meanwhile, canceled the second debate between Trump and Biden altogether after Trump declined to do a virtual debate despite concerns over his COVID-19 diagnosis. ! 6/ Trump will host his first in-person event since testing positive for the coronavirus on Saturday at the White House. Trump is expected to address the crowd from the balcony of the White House. (ABC News / NPR / Wall Street Journal)
7/ Trump will receive a “medical evaluation” during Tucker Carlson Tonight by Dr. Marc Siegel, a Fox News contributor. Dr. Siegel will also conduct an interview, but it’s not clear if either the “evaluation” or interview will occur live on-air or will be pre-taped from earlier in the day. Since being released from Walter Reed hospital, Trump has done two phone interviews, first with Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo Thursday morning, then with Fox News Sean Hannity Thursday night. (Fox News / Mediaite / Daily Beast)
! * Trump, coughing, told Sean Hannity he’s healthy and ready to hold rallies. Doctors and public health experts, meanwhile, called the move “reckless.” Later, Trump held what his campaign called a “radio rally,” in which he dialed in to Rush Limbaugh’s show for two hours.(CNN / NPR / Associated Press)
! 8/ Trump and White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows are pushing the FDA to grant emergency authorization for the promising but unproven COVID-19 therapy that Trump received. Trump has repeatedly suggested in videos on Twitter that the Regeneron drug is a “cure” that would soon be broadly available while claiming that he himself had granted the drugs an emergency use authorization, which is not true. (Washington Post / CBS News)
9/ The Justice Department’s review into the origins of the Russia investigation will not be released until after the election. Trump criticized Attorney General William Barr after being told that the results of U.S. Attorney John Durham’s report about alleged abuses by the Obama administration and intelligence community will not result in any indictments or a public report before Nov. 3. Trump, speaking with Rush Limbaugh, complained that Barr and FBI Director Christopher Wray were not moving fast enough, saying, “They want to get more, more, more. They keep getting more. I said, ‘you don’t need any more.’” (Axios / CNBC)
10/ Judge Amy Coney Barrett failed to disclose two seminars she gave that was hosted by anti-abortion student groups on her Senate paperwork. In April 2013, Barrett gave a small hour-long seminar “for students on changes to law and life for women after Roe v. Wade” entitled “Being a Woman After Roe.” And in November 2013, Barrett spoke to Jus Vitae, the law school’s Right to Life club at the University of Notre Dame, on “The Supreme Court’s Abortion Jurisprudence.” (CNN)
! 11/ Twitter will temporarily slow the way information flows on its platform ahead of the Nov. 3 election, including imposing new warnings on lies, restricting premature declarations of victory, and blocking calls for polling violence and other disruptions. (Washington Post / New York Times)
