Some good news: his approvals are collapsing even among his important demographics: https://poll.qu.edu/national/release-detail?ReleaseID=2456
And this survey was taken before the Comey firing.
Always good news!
Meanwhile, it turns out Sergey Lavrov is just as surprised as the American public is over Comey. I expect that clip to get repeated many times in the next few weeks.

My impression was that he was being facetious. The article you linked to agrees, describing the tone of his response as one of "faux incredulity".
He's basically making fun of the reporters and saying, "What? You actually think any of that matters? Like I give a shit."
In non-shit news, the Senate blocks a move to overturn an Obama-era methane drilling regulation by 51-49. McCain, Graham, and Collins actually briefly pretended to have integrity!

So much for not investigating Trump
and Comey's been asked to testify before the senate next Tuesday.
Mitch the turtle says "There is too much at stake for a new probe." Or…. "We shouldn't have a head of FBI at all, and I'll block any atempt to post someone. We can put someone in there temporarily. This is no time for investigations."

Oh, and Comey's temporary replacement? Under investigation.

"President Donald Trump weighed firing his FBI director for more than a week."
"He repeatedly asked aides why the Russia investigation wouldn’t disappear and demanded they speak out for him."
"White House officials believed it would be a 'win-win' because Republicans and Democrats alike have problems with the FBI director."
Yeah. WHen this crumbles, a loooot of heads are going to be rolling I think. Quite a few top level republicans are in on treason.

Lavrov is an enormous piece of shit and essentially Putin's evil foreign policy vizier. This guy was slime before Russia even went off the deep end in 2014.

Not surprising that he seemed so chummy with Rex throughout that video, then. These lying, sneering douche canoes really harsh my mellow.

I love what I'm seeing! Literally the day Comey is fired it seems like the investigation accelerates.
My impression was that he was being facetious. The article you linked to agrees, describing the tone of his response as one of "faux incredulity".

Yeah, looking at this again you're probably right. I was on a kick about how goofy Trump's team has been after firing Comey so I just saw this and assumed I found another one without looking closely.
So Trump has lost three members of his cabinet to this scandal, and just fired Comey, who was investigating him.
The plot thickens…..
The plot has been thickening since day one.
That was paint thick. Right now is wooden thick.

Where thickness is viscosity of the medium.
US senators probing possible links between Russia and the Trump team have been told to “follow the dead bodies” as they hunt for evidence of the Kremlin’s involvement in last year’s presidential election.
Appearing before the Senate Intelligence Committee, national security expert Clint Watts said several Russians linked to the investigation into Kremlin disinformation activities have been killed in the past three months.
The alleged murders were carried out not only in Russia, but in western countries as well, Mr Watts said.
He also accused Donald Trump of using the same techniques employed by Russian operatives against his own political opponents.
Dead russians? That thing is getting waaay to crazy.

Putin's been murdering loose ends, critics and potential leaks for a while now.
Wow, he sure didn't get the interview he thought that he would get. Proud to share my home state with Pat… stay engaged, stay inquisitive!
Which news don't you believe, Pat? My money is on Fox.
Wild, Fox News went to the Tastee Diner (where I've eaten) in freaking Bethesda, Maryland (where I live) and expected people to AGREE with their bullshit? Do they think we're the middle of Pennsylvania or something??
Anyway, proud of my fellow townsman for eloquently tearing into Fox before they even knew what hit them.
HAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAA!!! Oh shit, how fast he got up and away from the table near the end is pure comedy gold.
People keep comparing Trump to Nixon which is valid on some levels but there's a big difference in that Nixon's people were actually given a reason to be loyal to him. Trump demands loyalty and respect while returning neither so you're going to get a lot of things like the Deputy AG pushing back on using him as a justification for the Comey firing and people turning on him after he throws them under the bus..

As long as Turtlefucker and Paulie from Planet Fitness stand by Orangeface there will be no serious long-term consequences for any of them.
Saw it on my twitter feed earlier today, but a majority of Ryan's district now wants him gone (48% vs 46%)
Acting FBI Director contradicts White House claim that fired director James Comey had lost support.
BREAKING: Acting FBI director calls Trump-Russia investigation "highly significant," contradicting White House claim.
Wow, at this point it seems like every sentence and word related to Trump firing Comey is a lie. It's stunning how many different ways the news has found this to be false.
Also, since no one has mentioned it yet, Trump Establishes Vote Fraud Commission This idiot finally did it–he's really going after his stupid claim that he won the popular vote now. Hopefully this only ends up as a waste of taxpayer money, and not as some kind of voter fraud scheme. This panel's first report will be in 2018, and I don't like how they've timed that.
Trump did an interview with Lester Holt and talks about why he decided to fire James Comey.
Basically all Trump knows is that he wasn't being investigated and Comey was a liar all along.
Also, a fun fact.

Okay I just saw this and what the fuck. Isn't this illegal? I thought you couldn't talk to an FBI agent about an investigation of yourself. I'm floored by this. Did Trump just admit to a major crime?
At this point I'm just waiting for Trump to say that he asked three times because that'd constitute entrapment on Comey's part.
At this point I'm just waiting for Trump to say that he asked three times because that'd constitute entrapment on Comey's part.
Wouldn't he have to be told what that means though?
White House to take precautionary measure of sending construction crew and truckload of cement to J. Edgar Hoover's grave.
Wouldn't he have to be told what that means though?
He watches television.
I'm not entirely convinced that Trump knows who Comey is, really.
"Before I say anything, James, I have to ask: are you a cop? You have to tell me if you're a cop."
Has Pence done anything recently?
I like to imagine that he's just sitting at a desk somewhere, making minor rearrangements while assuring himself that he has a real job
Sarah Hickabee admits Trump fired Comey to obstruct justice.
How can you be a worse press secretary than literally Sean Spicer.
That's a biiiiiit of a stretch, honestly. I was listening in on the briefing yesterday, and the actual line of reasoning was something like this:
No citizen trusts the FBI because of Comey and everyone in the FBI distrusts Comey as the man in charge, we are replacing Comey as fast as possible so that the FBI can regain the trust of the public and the head of the FBI can regain the trust of the FBI employees, and all of this will help to bring this investigation to its rightful ultimate conclusion (which we admit everyone wants, including us).
Now, none of that really makes any sense, since the acting director of the FBI explicitly said during the Senate intelligence hearing today that any and all investigations being made by the FBI will not be affected one way or the other by any sort of change in command or lack thereof. Furthermore, he confirmed that the "vast majority" of FBI employees hold former director Comey in the "highest regard" and have a great relationship with him. He also went on to refute Huckabee's claim that the Russia collusion investigation is small change compared to the full responsibilities of the FBI, basically saying that it was one of the most important things they were working on right now.
Yeah, the White House wants this investigation to go away more than anyone else in the world right now… but I think it's not really fair to say that Huckabee out and out admitted that the administration is actively trying to screw with the investigation.
Sean Spicer the other day, Sarah Huckabee in the near future.

Il Douche has cancelled a planned visit to FBI HQ.
Apparently there are Republicans recommending Merrick Garland for FBI director. Won't give him a Supreme Court hearing but FBI's just fine…

Keep in mind that the only support Trump's statements in the Lester Holt interview has, is his own credibility. There is no basis to what he says beyond that at this time.
According to Senator Kamala Harris, it's definitely not protocol to ask an FBI agent if you're being investigated, and get an answer as Trump claims he did. Seriously, watch the video in the link. I think you'll like what you hear.
Apparently there are Republicans recommending Merrick Garland for FBI director. Won't give him a Supreme Court hearing but FBI's just fine…
It gives the GOP a federal court seat to fill, while Garland can be fired by Trump within a month.

He's campaigning for Whoever-it-is that's running against Rob Quist in Montana.
Comey falls into the category of "hack who sincerely does not realize he is a hack".
I wonder if Paul Ryan had to do a loyalty pledge. And if so, if he had to do it over again every time during the campaign he pretended to be upset with Trump.
Would he be a chaotic neutral then?
Oh hey look at this Republican: "One GOP lawmaker’s plan to save money: Turning non-English-speaking kids over to ICE."
lolllllll.
