Robert Redford stars as Donald J. Trump in The Candidate.
@CCC:
So far the wall is out, Hillary stays free, ACA isn't going anywhere… Keep going until every campaign promise is scrapped!
We were supposed to get a shitshow at the RNC, we were supposed to get a Clinton landslide, I wish we got get the Republicans going for the knives and going Julius Caesar on Trump…....but I'm a bit jaded about things.
@Cyan:
This just in, the last 16 months for Trump were largely a lie.
The orange is a lie.
I stumbled upon this
!
He endorsed Romney so his status as bullshitter was cemented ages ago…..Dirty Jobs is what he does after all.
This measure will target 20 million Trump voters:
Oops!
We were supposed to get a shitshow at the RNC
We actually did though; while the RNC crushed any attempts by the Never Trump crowd to speak, the RNC was a dreary, joyless affair that was quickly forgotten when Wikileaks dumped the DNC emails Russia gave them.

Hope people read this, this time, so we can join in the snark together:ninja:

We also had Ted Cruz pissing on Trump and telling people to vote with their conscience…..which he would do by endorsing Trump.

Didn't post this earlier because I couldn't be sure of the source's credibility, but now it's on CNN so fuck it.

I gave his office a call yesterday to express support for that…
Please let us wake up a few weeks from now with this all having been a fleeting nightmare.

Also, Lindsay Graham of all people is pushing to have an official inquiry into the legitimacy of the results re: Russian influence. I gave his office a call yesterday to express support for that…
Somehow Lindsay "Would've Been the First to Sign Up For the Confederate Officer Corps" Graham has ended up being the only #NeverTrumper to actually be against Trump.
Sigh… I really wanted this to all be over on November 8th. Why couldn't Trump have just been a regular shitty president who didn't know what he was doing?
Sigh… I really wanted this to all be over on November 8th. Why couldn't Trump have just been a regular shitty president who didn't know what he was doing?
Because people didn't want a politician. They wanted a business man that didn't know what he was doing.
Because people didn't want a politician. They wanted a business man that didn't know what he was doing.
I'd love to point out other times 'outsiders' entered GOP politics it didn't work out so well… if people would listen but I know they wouldn't.
We've already had an Actor and 1 ?2? businessmen in form of Oil tycoons become republican presidents.
But wasn't both Regan and Bush were governors first? So they got their teething done and had some experience by time they got into office. So I guess that's too much experience for some folks.
IF they really wanted a businessman for Prez, why not a real one instead of someone whose name is synonymous with "Sue me? Sue you!" and "Let's file Bankruptcy again".
Donald Trump is the first President to have never held any form of political or military position. This has less the effect of "Jimmy Stewart goes to Washington" and more "the guy working on your car doesn't know what wheels are".

Wait. Who was a actor?
Wait. Who was a actor?
Reagan was an actor, but he also had some political experience, unlike Trump.
Sigh… I really wanted this to all be over on November 8th. Why couldn't Trump have just been a regular shitty president who didn't know what he was doing?
Because he hasn't been sworn in to office yet therefore having to chance to show just how shitty he'd be?
Wait. Who was a actor?
Reagan…..though most people tend to forget that, along with the work he did as Governor of California.
Those damn Russian hackers.
What if it was their plan all along to be caught and have the election overturned to cause chaos? Or maybe that's what they want us to think.

Donald J. Trump - had a reality show on NBC

Reagan…..though most people tend to forget that, along with the work he did as Governor of California.
Most forget the actor part because the movies Reagan showed up in all sucked.
"Good" is a little much for Zachary Taylor. "Effective" or "possessing a spine" would be more accurate.
For all of his flaws, I really wish that South Carolina had actually tried to secede while Andrew Jackson was President.
Wait, no, I meant "Because of" rather "For all".
Anyway, he would have made Sherman's March look like a quilting bee.
So basically if you're name is Andrew and you become president you're guaranteed to be an awful shitbag?
George H.W. Bush - read my lips: CIA head,
So that explains why he tried to murder Homer Simpson with wire:ninja:

But still who knows its trump after all
Heh, Bill Clinton gets a bump right around the 2008 crash. Looks like people finally remembered that debt is bad then.

Nikki Haley picked to be Ambassador to the U.N.
Sigh.

Election 1800 was something else alright.
What would America be like if LBJ went for a second term and beat Nixon.
Andrew Jackson's way, way too high on that list.
Reagan should be near the bottom and JFK was largely worthless as well.
@Cyan:
Donald Trump is the first President to have never held any form of political or military position. This has less the effect of "Jimmy Stewart goes to Washington" and more "the guy working on your car doesn't know what wheels are".
I'm seriously starting to believe he may be Autistic based on his inability to read the emotions of others, obvious anxiety, general social awkwardness, the fact that his son is rumored to be Autistic as well…

As someone who has an Autistic brother, that analysis of Trump seems way off.
He's just a narcissist

It totally could be. Psychoanalysis of someone based only on their TV appearances isn't going to have a high degree of accuracy.
Reagan should be near the bottom and JFK was largely worthless as well.
The symbolic importance of JFK cannot be overstated; the Civil Rights Act and the space program don't happen without LBJ pushing them through in Kennedy's name.

Grant at least destroyed the first KKK and did what he could to keep the Reconstruction train rolling after Johnson fucked it over.
@Cyan:

Right, the best thing he did was dying, because he never would've gotten congress in line himself.

As someone who IS on the spectrum, that analysis could feel any more inaccurate to me. I feel like part of my ASD is that had been absolutely terrible at telling lies for the longest time (though I'm comfortable with white lies). Donald Trump has an easier time making shit up than he does breathing. And he can be very socially charming when he wants to from what I've read - he just makes the choice more often than not to be a goddamn asshole.
! To be honest, I'm tired of people in general rationalizing the behavior of bullies and other genuinely terrible people by saying "MAYBE HE HAS/IT'S BECAUSE HE HAS ASPERGER'S/ADD/BIPOLAR/ETC" because it means I have to defend myself from the insinuation that being neurologically different means you're more likely to be a bad person. I'm also fucking exhausted of people using "autistic" as a slur when they could just use "socially awkward" or "literal-minded" and leave the complex and uniquely manifesting condition that I have out of their put-downs. But that's not a topic for this thread yet and that's one reason why I spoiler tagged it.
Also I think that "avoiding complete nuclear annihilation over Cuba" is a pretty significant accomplishment, Kaiolino.
I'm seriously starting to believe he may be Autistic based on his inability to read the emotions of others, obvious anxiety, general social awkwardness, the fact that his son is rumored to be Autistic as well…
It's more likely dementia. And being a terrible person.
You guys are clearly missing the most obvious diagnosis.
He's suffering from the dreaded scourge of affluenza
Hillary's popular vote lead is over 2 million now. She's only 1.7 million behind Obama 2012 right now and still millions more ballots to count.

So…That they are still counting ballots. Does that mean it would have greater grounds for negating the electoral? Or what's the real purpose of continuing to count?

California has a lot of people and I'm pretty sure they use basic paper ballots that need to be hand-counted.

I'm pretty sure they always do a full count for statistics purposes (so both parties can make campaign plans), but we may not see the final results for months. The final count of Bush v Gore didn't come until shortly after 9/11.
@Cyan:

Yep, paper ballots mainly. Electronic booths are on hand for ADA folks but see very little use.

That's kind of insane, why not use a scantron type machine to count them?
Trump administration is going to bewaging a war on science.
Yup.

Yup.
That won't be the only war they'll be waging.

We need good science to tell us what the reality is and science could do that if politicians didn’t interfere with it.
Go fuck yourself, Trump advisor. Go fuck yourself with a rusty chainsaw.

Not his fault someone decided to take a shot at him and didn't miss.
