@Commander:
As of today
You're really doing this.
(or yesterday since that's when he was asked)aleppo is in the news because it's under siege by the syrian army
Aleppo was under siege earlier in the year, was relieved, and then fell under siege again.
Which is irrelevant because Aleppo has been the largest population center being ripped apart by widespread violence and shifting lines for YEARS in the war.
Vast parts of it are controlled by the rebels, almost equal to the regime, and even a pocket of Kurdish forces.
Damascus has nothing on this mess. Nor do refugees from Damascus funnel into Turkey (then Europe) given basic geography. Aleppo is not far under the Turkish border. Damascus is closer to Lebanon and Jordan.
Aleppo has been in the news more than any other area in terms of horrific civilian rending urban combat for again, YEARS.
It's also relevant because the regime seems to have used chemical weapons a few days ago.
Another thing that's been going on around the whole country, let alone Aleppo, for YEARS. The regime didn't use chemical weapons in Aleppo, the regime used chemical weapons in Aleppo again.
But the fact that the host brought it up to talk about the refugee crisis and not the current battle going on seems pretty dubious.
As demonstrated, absolutely not at all whatsoever.
The fact that aleppo is the 2nd city of syria after damascus(at least that was the case before the war)and it's strategic importance to both sides might make it the epicenter of the conflict between the rebellion and the regime.
And the refugee crisis.
But it only makes it an element of the refugee crisis.
A huge city being ripped to pieces for years near the Turkish border, is an epicenter for the refugee crisis in Europe.
Every battleground,
You're stretching really really hard to make this something its not lol.
A bunch of rural areas and podunk towns with shifting frontlines that more than not are frozen add up to refugees together….but still pale to the huge city being depopulated for years by much more constant and much more heavy fighting.
every area controlled by daesh(like raqqa),
ISIS hasn't captured notable new territory for a long long while. The opposite in fact has been happening.
every area where the basic needs of the population aren't being met, every area that's near a border contributes to the refugee crisis.
What you are stupidly saying here is that because refugees come from other places, no place can be an epicenter.
Congratulations on either having absolutely no idea what an epicenter is, or stubbornly making nonsense arguments to defend an indefensible gaffe for no goddamn reason.
Pick a good hill to die on.
Syria as a whole is the epicenter of the refugees crisis(and arguably not just syria)
And in Syria the epicenter is Aleppo. With Syria being the most brutal war in the area.
When trump doesn't know the names of the leaders of hezbollah and isis or what the nuclear triad is,the lame stream media thinks it's ok.
ahahaha, jesus christ shut up.
But one gaffe from gary johnson and they say he's unqualified.
Trump is also horribly unqualified.
