Chapter 804: An Adventure on the Back of an Elephant
-
Is Weeble already there?
-
-
what happen to nami?
does she have clothes now>? -
Somebody turned all of the Strawhats into aminals and now they have amnesia and new names
-
Judging from what Kanjuro said, falling thing is Raizou. Hi and bye.
.Why would a ninja wear a top hat and a suit?
-
Pretty good chapter to start this new arc. The first part with Ryuunosuke and how stupid Kanjuro & Kin'emon are, was hillarious. Zoo seems very interesting, and i loved Carrot. I'm not into the next nakama trend, but i would love to have her with the Straw Hat Crew. Like Aohige-san said, she melt my Heart. Oda really know how to Draw cute things. She's adorable.
-
-
Does Carrot have a Devil Fruit? She was floating right?
-
-
what happen to nami?
does she have clothes now>?Doesn't make a big difference, really.
She never has much clothes on anyways.
-
Please, post Aohige's summary and the Powermanga chapter when it is out.
Here's the summary btw :
! Aohige : A monkey comes falling down, crying Etetetetetete
Kanjuro explains that Raizou is a Tetetete, a running ninja.
(Ete-kou is an insulting way of calling a monkey)
Luffy & co dodges the ape, but Kin and Kan is fooling around with pretend ninjutsu and is knocked off the dragon.
Robin originally mistakes the ape for a child stabbed by knives, lol
Luffy and others wants to go back down to the ocean to pick up the samurais, but they yell out that they're fine, and will catch up later.
Luffy insists on helping them, but feels sorry for the dragon who struggling to climb the elephant's leg, panting heavily from the work. (Robin is almost in tears from pity)
Luffy yells down to the samurai that they'll go on ahead, and we'll meet up later.
Although they hear the samurai answer in acknowledgement, they also hear an unfamiliar voice yelling he won't allow them to enter the country without permission. (perhaps the voice of the ape ninja)
The dragon finally makes it to the top, as Luffy & co cheers on Ryuunosuke (they gave him a name)
The dragon smiles and slowly reverts to a painting as Luffy & co tearfully calls out his name. Franky cries.
Zoro & Law is uninterested, calling this a farce and just a terribly drawn painting.
They head to a large castle wall arch with a carving that reads "Mokomo Dukedom" to enter the nation, while Robin puts a flower on Ryuunosuke's drawing.
Luffy climbs up the wall and on the watch tower to get a good view of the nation.
The nation is large and well developed, with massive blocks of buildings that resemble thin cliffs, large cities around a ruin, vast forests, river, etc. Despite being on an elephant, it's completely an island nation.
They walk through the arch, as Zoro mentions the gates are open.
But Law points out that the gates didn't just open… it's missing, someone had forced themselves in.
! Inside the gate, the party finds massive destruction through the forest. And the destruction is still new.
The road is hard to walk on, as they're treading on the skin of an elephant.
Meanwhile a few mink people are spying on the group, wondering what happened to Bariete (presumably the person on watch). He/she may have been taken out...
Luffy reaches the city, but it looks abandoned. Buildings are destroyed.
Luffy yells out his friends names "Sanji, Nami, Chopper, Brook! Gas... well nevermind I don't care about gas. "
Franky notes the smell of gun powder and gas, while Usopp is frightened to know what happened to this place.
Zoro and Law notices someone approaching, and Zoro readies his sword.
A small bunny girl rushes towards Zoro, and Zoro slashes at her, but she changes her direction in mid air, easily dodging Zoro's sword and counter attacking.
Zoro unsheathes his other sword with free hand, catches her claws, but upon contact is electrocuted!
Another mink woman riding on back of an aligator (or crocodile) tells the bunny girl Carrot to stop, those are not the men they're after.
The woman wears Nami's clothes, and tells Carrot intruders are at the Whale Forest.
Law confirms they are the Mink tribe, while Usopp notices the woman wearing Nami's clothes....
End of chapter -
I love the picture with the dragon fading away and we see him smiling with the sun in the background :D So cliché and perfect!
-
LOL @ zoro
I'm almost certain the next nakamura will be from this arc. -
@jabso:
LOL @ zoro
I'm almost certain the next nakamura will be from this arc.Hope so, the minkmen are really cool, from what we've seen so far.
Would be nice if at the end of the story, the SH were composed of an fishman, a mink, a dwarf, a long-leg / arm, a giant.

End of chapterActually, i did read Aohige's summary already. I'm asking him to put it in the first post, so that people who didn't read the spoiler section, don't get confused by some mistake that Mangapanda possibly did.
-
There might be some really promising Mink fighters to be seen!
Yeah, yeah… :getlost: Do you mean like the Dressrosa dwarves who were supposedly too fast to see and super strong until plot dictated otherwise ? Or maybe they're going to be good fighters in a Rebecca sense ? I wouldn't get my hopes too high up, unless minkmen end up being the enemy here. But if they're in for a rescue, chances are we will be frustrated at their sudden worthlessness a few months from now...
Anyway, interesting chapter, Zou looks promising as a land of adventures, but to be honest I liked the start of Dressrosa better. Also, I would well have traded a couple pages of leg climbing for more wide shots of the city and island.
-
The pure unique stylistic oomph is a trait of One Piece's that simply cannot be replicated. It's one of the premier reasons for its total success. See these pages for examples.
– A monkey in a tophat flying towards us is one of our introductions to Zou... (while riding a drawing of a dragon climbing an elephant's leg) As bizarre as you would expect for the New World.
-- ;_;7 Ryuunosuke
-- The dramatic sunsets are a calming visual page liven-upper and I hope they're featured fairly often.
-- I actually said "Holy f--king s--t" out loud when I saw the 2-page spread of the whale tree, the trees, and the ruins.
-- Carrot's a badass. -

Realized that after posting.
Well it's still useful in case if he struggles to find it… -
Does Carrot have a Devil Fruit? She was floating right?
Bitch please, there are already 2 DFs who does that.
-
Robin in this chapter is so disgusting…
-
Rayzou is a monkey!!! It figures! A monkey ninja!
Zoro got owned by bunny girl. HAHA
Zoro and Law the new boring badass brothers. Damn
This is the princess of zou, the one that got Nami's clothes.
With girls like this, chopper must be on full pervert sanji mode!
-
@uniaka:
Zoro got owned by bunny girl. HAHA
Nope. He wasn't.
-
I think I have somethings to say on this chapter, but before then, I'll wait for Mangastream's translation to come out. I wouldn't want to use as premises for my arguments Mangapanda's translation. Franky said that he does not smell gunpowder and not even gas.
!
It left me head over heels because of Franky's pickiness about what he is supposed to be smelling, lol. -
Does Carrot have a Devil Fruit? She was floating right?
It could be a Geppou-like technique (I didn't come up with that, saw somebody mentionning it on another forum) too.
-
Robin in this chapter is so disgusting…
This opinion has been in this thread two times now. She's not disgusting for finding the struggling dragon drawing cute, she just simply thinks the way it looks while it's trying so hard to climb is cute.
What people find "cute" varies widely. Of course if you get into extremes, there are ways that finding something cute can be disgusting (for example, "The economical collapse of the U.S. is just adorable!"). But this isn't an extreme. That dragon is just a cutie-pa-tooty.
-
Robin in this chapter is so disgusting…
Why do you find her disgusting? I am just curious. I think that was a gag. It was funny, in my opinion.
-
@Mr.:
We already had Miss Merry Christmas. Doesn't get any hotter than that.
But seriously, we've already had sexy fishmen, relatively sexy reptile zoans and an unexplained half-human half bird named Monet. Sexy mammals isn't that strange. And besides, going off the color-walks Oda has been doing animal people since forever. Now they're finally getting their own arc.
Ah those gals are different, they were either humans that changed into animals or another race altogether (fishwomen/mermaids).
Though with Ms. Merry Christmas, Usopp did mistake her for an animal person … but then Chobo (boy on Nami's island) mistook Usopp for a fishman and Nojiko agreed he looked like one.:ninja:While yes, we've seen sexy animal ladies, the difference now is that this is their real forms, not something the changed into.
I wonder if Sanji would be interested in furry women.
It's likely a hit n miss in guessing if Sanji would be interested or not.
I mean Mozu & Kiwi (Square Sisters on Water 7) were pretty, just odd hair style and long noses, but still had sexy bodies about same build as Nami & Robin but Sanji never gave them any attention.
But what about Monet…did he meet or show like towards Monet? I can't remember... -

I was content with the dwarves and gladiators. If there is one thing you will never hear me complain about, it's when fighters in this story under perform. It was clear from 795 that the minks needed aid, doesn't mean there can't be a Whyper or Kyros around.
Wo bu xihuan ni. ;)
-
But what about Monet…did he meet or show like towards Monet? I can't remember...
He did react. Actually, just gazing at her beauty made Sanji fell backwards.
-
So we finally got a clear view of Zou, as well as a peek at the minkmen tribe.
Some fun stuff with the falling monkey and dragon drawing too.
Pretty standard new island introductory chapter really, nothing particularly wild.
-
The sunset panel has to be one of the most hilarious I've seen in a long while. Only Oda can create such moments.
Good chapter, adventure begins, and look, a bunny girl dodged Almight Zoro's slash and not only that, but gasp countered him!
Not gonna get my hopes up at all, but that was a good start to the Mink tribe, to be honest.
Whale forest rocks.

aohige summary says that franky recognize the smell of gas and gunpowder..while in the MP translation it sayds that there is not such smell….i suppose MP ust screwed up one more time right?
anyway..as predicted by many, myself included, the minks seem the mammal equivalent of the fishmen and mermen..so an arrays of different mammal creatures..at this point probably bepo and pekoms are minkmen...and like mermen and fishmen are kinda different but still considered the same species, probably there are a part of minkmen that are more human-like like the ones we saw here, and some that are more on the beast side like bepo and pekoms...it miight also be a gender problem..but i shiver at the idea since the internet would have days and days of argument over that.
interesting to see that the bunny girl seems to have some kind of different way of fightining..i hope we receive something akin to the dial system we got in skypiea, something completely different that makes the battles feel unique and it's added to the arsenal for later arcs.as for the nami's clothes, since nami had different clothes on her when they disembarked,it's probably someone nami knew and she gave her some of her clothes..i don't remember..did she have a backpack where she could have stored some change of clothes?

And it's a really silly mistake too.
He said "Hey guys, don't you smell faint scent of gun powder and gas?"HE SAID DON'T THAT MUST MEAN THEY DON'T
Like
Incredibly entry level mistake.

Don't ask me to do something I can't. -
It is obvious but in case someone missed it the whale forest where the men the Mink are after are is probably in the trees above the whale's smile at the top of this page http://img01.ishuhui.com/op/bei804/10-11.png

Would you believe me if I said that Robin tearing up over Ryu whatever made me tear up a little? First the Dressrosa face fault and now this. Robin is still steadily opening up even after all this time. I honestly think it's going to lead into something significant for her. The 6th Person perhaps?
Bunny girl seems to be wearing a gauntlet or something that gives her the use of electricity. Glad she was able to dodge and get a hit in on Zoro. There might be some really promising Mink fighters to be seen! And wonderful! Confirmation that they aren't all the same animal!
At first couldn't believe how Oda could have wasted half a chapter on that dragon, then I realized I need some revolution in my heart too.
That's what it looks like at first, but could it just be a huge blow of armanent haki? The gauntlet is pretty dark on that panel despite being white.
By the way, Nami was wearing different clothes when they were shown on Zou, they must have ransacked Sunny Go.

wouldn't the cre have noticed if it was ransacked..i think nami probabbly just gave her some clothes for some reason..nami had a backpack when she was on zou

I think that the monkey is bariete the gaurd of the city
-
I seriously had to stop reading the chapter for a few seconds so I could stop laughing at the Ryuunosuke part. I am actually laughing again now.
So, great chapter! I am getting the impression the minks are actually quite friendly for a tribe that was supposed to hate humans (the monkey talking like a ninja gave the me impression he became Raizou's apprentice, and the girl with Nami's top that they became friends and Nami gave it to her).
-
Am I the only one who would rather have the monkey as a new nakama instead of Carrot?
-
Am I the only one who would rather have the monkey as a new nakama instead of Carrot?
someone wants carrot as a crewmate?
why?
we have seen like 2 pages of her -
someone wants carrot as a crewmate?
why?
we have seen like 2 pages of herEven The Blue One seems to have fallen for her.
I usually frown upon the "next nakama because she's hot" crowd but goddamnit Carrot melts my heart.
-
someone wants carrot as a crewmate?
why?
we have seen like 2 pages of herWe have seen Trhee-Eyed-Girl even less and people jumped on her.
But Carrot actually is cute <3
-
I'm hoping that after the whole Luffy & Law previously, now Law will bond with the rest of the crew too. In particular with Zoro to give him some time to be human again, and possibly with Robin given some of their similar traits.
-
-

oh,didn't thought about appearance since i don't really find her cute at all
still,i prefer having a character i actually like on the crew more than someone who looks good, but it's just me -
Am I the only one who would rather have the monkey as a new nakama instead of Carrot?
I wasn't going to mention it, but yes, it was him falling and I going "PLEASE JOIN THE CREEEEEEW!!!". But I have a weak spot for silly monkeys, so it was expected…
-
-
Now I understand why everyone hates Law. Him in the crew is like 2X ZORO. Boring badass duo ftw
