      @Kaiolino:

      Are you comparing black protestors to Nazis? thinking face emoji

      (Also ignoring that Kristallnacht was encouraged by the government. And that the POINT was to destroy buildings and terrorize a vulnerable minority, rather than the excesses of peaceful protests. And that there were many deaths that night as well. And that the Jews were forced to pay themselves for the damages)

      Im comparing whats been said, not people, dont twist my words please.

      @Shirohige_AC:

      The people who say "buildings can be rebuilt" sing a completely different tune when the protests arrive at their doorsteps:

      I wonder how people felt being told that buildings could be rebuilt after the Reichskristallnacht.

      @Robby:

      Because that's what happened. There was other stuff surrounding it, but those kids were absolutely being completely awful anyway.

      But conservative media spun it as completely misunderstanding, made some lawsuits, pointed out the other facts, and that let off scott free… even though they were still being completely awful. That there were others ALSO being terrible doesn't completely negate that fact or absolve them of how they were acting.

      To make a completely non political example.

      You order a pizza. It's a delicious high quality 4 toppings, super good pizza.You eat the entire thing, and you declare it is the most disgusting thing you have ever had, and you say so. For some reason, the media reports on this. You hate pizza! The facts are in, you're on camera hating pizza, you said so, its absolutely clear!

      But it turns out, that somewhere in the process, your father had drizzled chocolate sauce all over it, so that you could have a taste adventure. The pizza was actually completely ruined, and disgusting. But you ate it anyway because you don't want the good pizza to go to waste despite being awful.

      So now the story is clear, it was actually your father that was terrible, the media got the story all wrong, you're in the clear, you like pizza after all! You're an innocent in all of this!

      But then it turns out that the toppings you ordered on your pizza included walnuts, shrimp heads, bologna, and peanut butter, with mayonnaise for sauce. It was a horrible thing even before your father ruined it.

      You actually ARE still are a horrible person that hates pizza, that did something bad, even if there were outside circumstances that seemed like they could have made you look innocent. You still did stuff outside of that influence that was awful.

      But the media only focuses on your father adding chocolate sauce, so you're forgiven anyway and everyone eventually forgets that you had a walnut and shrimp head pizza with mayonnaise and peanut butter.

      That said, no one should send death threats over such things.

      Are you suggesting someone standing still not saying a word or lifting a finger in front of someone distressing him is an awful thing to do? I ask this sincerely, please point to me said evidence of Sandmann acting awful in front of Nathan Philips and deserving of your accusations so that i may see what your point stands on.

      Note that the "full uncut livestream" didn't remotely make the Covington kids look good but that conservative media threw up enough of a smokescreen by pretending that it did that a lot of people decided that their initial, correct reading of the situation was wrong.

      Between a kid awkwardly smirking to someone getting too close to him, and countless journalists and hundreds of thousands of people libeling, doxing and calling for murder of said kid i know who looks in the wrong.

      it's not going to be easy to get rid of alt-right fascism and anti-intellectualism.

      Had grandparents resist fascism in the 30s so im very curious about this, could you elaborate please?

      @RoboBlue:

      Well, I have to ask why this scenario always works out in the company's favor.

      Every single time, they milk the employee's misfortune for sympathy and use it to cast doubt on the validity of whatever criticism the company's receiving at the time.

      Naughty Dog obviously didn't put her there for that reason, but they almost definitely did tolerate or encourage her Twitter use and we saw them take advantage of the attacks on her.

      By this point they have to know they're allowing (and encouraging) their employees to take these risks.

      It plays on people best intentions on siding with perceived victims and profiting from it. Anyone will naturally be disgusted about seeing their idols being threatened, and with internets anonymity is so easy to rack up said threats (from no names with no actual power to enact them), and even manufacture them (sometimes even caught doing so). All of this does in fact make them seem victims, despite being the actual rich and powerful entity against the poor powerless people. Any criticism is then put to the side cause the human relations gets the priority: "how can you talk about the product when the lives behind it are at stake" becomes the go to argument. Its incredibly sinister precisely because it takes advantage of the common sense of siding with who you feel being threatened, which to no one surprise is incredibly easy to manipulate at any given moment, some comments here alone overwhelmingly prove it.

      Biggest problem for Tlou2 is how little gameplay there is, in favor of meandering for interactions on commenting objects/places with no (or very little of) plot, and scavenging resources that will find little use with the few enemies scattered around. Said interactions have another problem: the voice acting/directing in this game seems either poor or misguided. Most of the time spent with Ellie and Dina for example, you cant distinguish who is saying what, as their voices are incredibly similar in tone, delivery and vocal timbre. Storywise has the same problem of the gameplay for how little plot there actually is, filled with many scenes that can be argued serve as characterization, but ultimately serve very little purpose. It would be if like in Ace Attorney the bulk of the story was in examining objects, while the trials and defining moments were incredibly brief and not that well thought out. Certain events in Tlou2 just manage to happen cause the devs want to skip to the "big" moments with little to no buildup or convincing screen writing, like characters that happen to coincidentally meet each other.

      Wether people like it or not, social media and internet in general will eventually face federal intervention, maybe not under Trump but in due time.
      From people who effectively have jobs dictated by algorithms that can change at a moment notice, and terms of service that have to be swallowed with no scrutiny or rebuttal, plus a clear bias certain people (ie rich) get over others on a plethora of situations.

      Goodwill for anonimity has been mostly stable for the first decade of the 2000s but as more people began flooding it from the 2010s, we're now reaching levels of containment for a variety of practices that cant continue as they are: from spreading fake news that only at certain times gets corrected and even less so recognized for it afterwards, to the absolute lack of any equality whatsoever where people can form kangaroo courts and witch trials decided by numbers and influence instead of justice.

      I know I'm a bit late in asking this, but what is your guys opinions on the new Final Fantasy 7 Remake? Is it worth buying? I was thinking of getting it, but not exactly sure if I should or not

      What do you think of the battle systems, the plot (old and new), the characters etc. I'd really love to know

      Shared some thoughts in the previous page:

      @Yobiyopi:

      FF13 and FF7R share a lot of design aspects, with the latter improving many of them like the action commands and positioning as elements to consider, as long as its not the cpu. Dodges have no i-frames so their use is more situational with either luck or observation for telegraphed attacks, though many arent very generous about it, so guarding/parrying comes off as the better solution. Companions are unsalvageably stupid on their own so its nice you can switch between them at will or impart orders, though its only for attacks and not for positioning, so that can become an issue when they walk into AOE or you want to strategize differently. The only solution then is to manually switch over and move around (though the one you just lost control of will do the opposite of what you just wanted to do for someone else). Staggering is also present but with basic attacks always available regardless of ATB its far easier to build the meter than in FF13, and given elemental weaknesses its sometimes far too easy to exploit them and draining their massive hp which would be sponges otherwise. Speaking of ATB its also fairly well balanced until some materias ruin said balance, but its nice that you cant just spam healing items given their indefinite nature. Strong attacks however are too easy to pull off given how fast the ATB meter fills from your attacks but also on its own, so its rarely an issue of balancing which attacks to use.

      Motomu Toriyama is the co-director and it shows more than just for some combat design, given how many corridors there are throughout, and kinda basic dungeon design alongside, with square rooms/platforms to go on for 1-2 hours in that classic fashion of: hallway - enemies - cutscenes with not much else to consider. The party is also shuffled around quite a lot like FF13, more so than in the original given its new lenght, and sometimes there is the unfortunate reality of having solo battles/sections which are drained of any strategy and in the case of Barret, it shows what a Devil May Cry 2 made today would look like. Speaking of lenght, it borders between 35-40 hours for an average playthrough, which is more or less the same as the entirety of the original. Value doesnt come off just for the quantity of content, and the pacing of FF7R pads itself out at any chance given, sometimes with the joy of going through the same dull sewer section twice. "Sidequests" are also somehow obligatory ones at times, and they dont amount to much other than slaying X number of enemies or fetching items. It gives the impression they decided first to make X parts and then how to fill them to the brim with content however meaningless or padded it may have been. Feel that from trailers/PR/opening movie, many assumed that Midgar would now be a somewhat open world/city to explore, but instead you go through the same areas at a snail pace.

      Storywise is early to form complete thoughts, but the direction seems to follow a fairly bland trope, though its not impossible to turn out interesting despite all, so on that front we'll wait and see.

      Since then i would elaborate a little more on the story and pacing: many times less is more. Characters interact a lot more but most of said interactions dont stick, original beats are still good for the most part while any new addition sticks out at best or looks out of place/baffling at worst, like a certain event that would normally shake everyone's life, in this remake is treated as just ordinary administration. It doesnt help that dungeons intersect with the story putting it to a halt numerous times, which wouldnt be that bad except for how dreadfully long and uninspired they are with a few exceptions. The best one is probably the first given how short and concise it is, while the worst one by far is near the end and lasts more than 2 hours on average of samey rooms and corridors, which is a pattern you will notice in plenty others before.
