Jinbe will get the immortality from Law and never dies.
Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2

Law won't turn Luffy immortal no matter what happens, good guys never get immortality. If there will ever be a moment where Luffy is going to die without some kind of miracle treatment Chopper will be the one to use his dream medicine on him.
By immortality I mean not aging and not being unkillable.

This is just a thought that occured to me after this recent chapter's cover story of Wadatsumi throwing houses onto the land. First off, did the fish build these buildings? The ones that clearly look like they should be inhabited by humans? If not, then it lends a little credence to the theory.
So does the fact that Water 7 is apparently sinking.
Tequila Wolf's original destination - as in, where it is supposed to end - must've been a lot closer 700 years ago. So is the entire world of One Piece slowly sinking?

Nice observation.
Maybe it all sunk at one point and thats why moon arc was builded? -

Even though Water7 is not decisive evidence, as the real venice is sinking as well, I think that you could have struck on one of the blank century secrets. The world goverment is just holding a pillow over the rest of the world while it sinks and covers everything, except the red line, and the city over it?
And then just Thriller bark, and floating water 7 would survive.
Fishman island depends on the eve tree and the bubble mangrove to keep the island where it is, a flood could also destroy the tree.
Sky islands depend on volcanic eruptions on seastone rich sites, so they would survive as well. -

Very interesting, especially with the Noa's arc paralell on Fisman island and the flood myth in the Bible.
God tells Noa to build an arc because he is going to flood the world.
Mabe the Gorosei are the "Gods" here and are responsible for this flood and used it to whipe out the ancient civilisation.
With this they created a world with so much ocean that they could be seen as responsible for the great pirate age.
They want no one to know what they did. They claim to be against Pirates, but at the same time want them to exist because it gives them reason to hunt anybody who seeks the truth by sailing the oceans.
And you have these guy's with a D. in there name who are God's natural enemy.
Mabe because they are descendants of the survivers and might have a higher disire to find out what happened?Seems like a very plausible plot to me!
Never thought that the sea level might still be rising. Mabe that's another reason the Gorosei want nobody to know what they did.
They are responsible for the rising sea level that will eventually whipe everyone out (except them on the red line of course). Also, moon's control the tides right?
So mabe Raftel will only be accesible when the influence of the moon's on the tides is right for it to appear?I'm also interested in the myth of the land Avalon which is a hidden land only accessible to those who can summon a certain magic boat.
King Arthur went to that land/island and Excalibur was supposedly forged there.
And of course my favourite myth of Atlantis which is a sivilisation that got lost in an instand by a gigantic flood. -

It makes a lot of sense and I dont think that what Oda will show us will differ completely from what you wrote as you pieced those elements together well.
Those posts like Dirt Monkey AL and You made are reason why people lurk and post on forum - to come to some cool conclusions, predictions turning out true and better understanding of manga. As long ago time as Oda planned out his story its good that we get to see pieces of it being given to us so slowly. Otherwise we would figure out too many key elements connected to D and lost century that we would loose very big chunk of interest that we have for it now. Even only one page on Ds being called Devils and Gods natural enemies fueled a lot of new theories and good ones to boost. When we will get to see volume on Lost Century closer to end of story we would get brain seizures from overload of getting mindblown by "how could I not get that from hints we have gotten ?! " kind of shock.

Yea you're right.
I like how Oda uses a lot of myths and references in his story and makes them even better by combining them and twisting them into his story.
It's interesting to speculate about this and learn about these myths too at the same time.By the way, just found this: There seem to be a lot of myths and story's about floods that destroyed civilisations/the world and such.
Apparently by comparing these story's they all seem to point to the same time: about 2800 before Christ.
This is about the same time that a giant meteorite had stuck the earth. They think it's impact caused those big floods arount the world.
They found it's crater in the sea at Madagascar: The Burckle Crater. It's about 30km wide!Interesting right?
Also another thing I just thought of: Reverse mountain resembles a volcano that erupts water in stead of lava.
Only as a reversed eruption because the water is going up.
They think the civilisation of Atlantis was destroyed because it was build on a giant volcano at Santorini which then erupted and caused a big flood.
Don't know what this could point to, but I like the mystery of it. -

Indeed, although I don't think that is going to play a big role story wise.
Just for the blowing Jaya in the sky part I guess. And the Grand Line is just a crazy place like that.Indeed, it's logical to use tsunami's and wild seas in a pirate story. And I think a big flood has potential for a good Void Century drama story.

Knock up stream might be source of water rising in same sea where Water 7 is.
Like bit by bit over time there is more and more water partially thanks to knock up stream- just loose idea. -

A little too Wind Waker. Also this doesn't really work with the idea that places like Little Garden have existed since prehistoric times.

Your OP history is confused, the great pirate age began only about two decades before the current story, with the death of Roger. Which would have been something like 780 years after the end of the blank century. Roger is responsible for the Great Pirate Age. It's like…the first page of the manga dude.

Any chance that robin will get any clues about the void century or the ponyglyphs this arc?
I mean the Tonetta have been around for ages, they probably know a few things about what happened before the previous Donquixote left.
Doflamingo knows a few things too perhaps and hopefully robin can get a few information about him, maybe about the great treasure he's after. -

This is like one time deal!

I guess the possible information we might be getting by the end of this arc which are related to the void century are:
- The secret of the WG that Doflamingo has a grasp on which might be related to the void century or even the ancient weapons perhaps
- Hints on what D's really are and why do Tenryubittos hate them
- Possibly a Poneglyph located somewhere in the island with a vital message
I am personally hoping any one of these will be revealed during chapter 800 which will coincide well with the other significant X00 chapters

I personally don't think Oda actually revealing no. 1 right now, but I can see him throwing hints about the Ds (which he already did) and letting Gancho tells us what actually happened 400 years ago + myths or whatever they got about the void Century.

Also this doesn't really work with the idea that places like Little Garden have existed since prehistoric times.
It could help explain Little Garden a little more. If the world has been sinking - for at least 800 years - and the dinosaurs had already been secluded, this rise of water/sinking of land would help keep them hidden from most people. The island would have then just been a bigger island.
I do see your point though.
In which case, there could be another reason. Which is that the tectonic plates move much more rapidly than our own do. Which would account for some sinking towns or islands. Might also be why there hasn't been a map of the world for 800 years. Shit keeps changing whether shit be sinking or moving.

If Tectonic plates were moving around all the time there would be horrible earthquakes constantly. Pretty sure we'd hear about that.
-
@Monkey:

Well, there is Aqua Laguna.
And while its namesake Acqua Alta doesn't include earthquakes in the causes for it happening, it does include subsidence and eustacy. Subsidence is the sinking soil part. Eustacy is the rising level of sea water.
Oda might not be aware of causes like the eustacy part, but I'd bet he'd be familiar with a tsunami (I don't have a big enough dur for that). Which are caused by underwater earthquakes. Would the World Government have the tech to measure or even be aware of said quakes?
We don't know how the plates are shaped in the One Piece world either. The only clue to that might be the Red Line. So there could be at least two, or two collections of tectonic plates, grinding, and shoving the Red Line up into the air. Which … then makes me wonder about past Gura Gura no Mi users. It's said that it has the power to destroy the world. So maybe it almost did? <<< A bunch of semi different theory junk.

I'm hoping that we see Drake throwing Caribou down in front of Kaido in that chapter.
Not quite sure how the timing of Jinbe's cover story works with Caribou's.
By the newspaper Jinbe's story is currently taking place slightly before or at the same time as events in Dressrosa?
So he dropped Caribou at G5 sometime during Punk Hazard. At a guess he's been with Drake maybe half a week? Not sure if there's enough clues to nail it down until we see him on the page again. -

I wonder how much Devil fruits are connected to "D" specifically.
Its like "D" were lately said to be Devils and God natural enemy so with that gigant flood of world being hinted I wonder if it was world goverment(God) getting rid of Ds this way?
Like maybe it was nation with DF powers or something like that? That would make most sense to use sea against them like that(but if they were normal people its not like it would not have almost same catastrophic effect). -

Noah arc sounded like a hint.
A hint to a gigantic flood that could wipe out the whole humans race above, but not fishmans cuz the can actually survive under this mega flood and yet who received the arc are the fishman race. Maaan, god is so unfair.

We don't really know what was Noah's actual mission, and it would make a lot of sense if they were trying to use it to save the people of one certain kingdoom in particular.
dirt monkey AL's theory is slowly making a lot of sense actually.
-
On that note, it doesn't necessarily mean it's still happening, I suppose.
Either sinking land masses or massive movements of plates could have just suddenly happened 800 years ago, and maybe that's still effecting their world to this day. Plates moving could explain the magnetic junk with the Grand Line/New World, and/or sinking could account for ruins underwater, and a still sinking Water 7.
Noah could fit with either scenario.
-

dirt monkey AL's theory is slowly making a lot of sense actually.
It makes as much sense as the "real Noah". But Hey, may be the Ds were the bad people who gave the fishman the ark so they (fishman) can only save this certain kingdom (Ds) and let everybody else drown to the deepest and darkest place of the ocean.
-
What is pro the theory:
The Noah reference
The fact that the people who would know what is going on with the world chose to live in the highest known landmass (attached to the ground)
How the Quake fruit was refered as the fruit that could destroy the world (maybe because it already did)
Water 7 sinking (again, venice)
Longring island (eh, it's more normal)
Eines loby weird hole (we are willfuly ignoring the hole and the fact that it has it's OWN SUN)
Roger's crew weird sense of dispair.
The mythical floods that washed away the impure are a recurring theme in myth and religion, considering how seawater deals with those with the power of the devil
WG's attitude of "don't rock the boat" with most pirates, whatever they want, stability is their main objective
If there's no fresh water or dry land, the devil fruits will have to respawn in Marijoa (or Skypea, that has dry land out of a fluke, and a big deal was made of the Vearth)
It would be a fitting crime, either they broke the world, or are keeping the details shush so that no one tries to undo it.Anti:
The fact that the WG isn't even trying to conquer the sky islands (unknwon?)
There aren't enough hints, it makes sense, but we'd seen more ruins, or displaced people (other than the fishmen)
The ammount of power that would be needed to "undo it" or at least stabilize the world would be incredible, while the ancient weapons and the quake fruit have ton of power to destroy, no devil fruit or device has the necesary power to create or restore something so big
Thriller Bark, Fishman Island, The promised floating city of Water 7, the Sky Islands, all ways to survive the flood, yeah it would take lots of time and risk to turn some big islands in each blue and the GL into giant ships, but it's doable
Whatever happened during the blank century, what the WG did, it must had to deal with the ancient weapons, considering that Pluto is most likely a battleship, Poseidon grants control of island size seamonsters, and Uranus most likely just flies, a flooded world would give them even more advantages.Completely unrelated.
Wait, the tangerines… are Fruits! what if some devil fruit user in the future dies, and Nami's trees capture the scense of the fruit? -
It makes as much sense as the "real Noah". But Hey, may be the Ds were the bad people who gave the fishman the ark so they (fishman) can only save this certain kingdom (Ds) and let everybody else drown to the deepest and darkest place of the ocean.
Nou, that Kingdom was the only one facing the chance of being sinked during the war with the 20 kingdoms, the Gyojins were their allies during the war and they built Noah to save the people of that Kingdom with the promise(maybe) that if they win the war the Gyiojins would get land to live under the real sun, and since the whole thing failed, that's probably what JoyBoy apologizes about.
It's quite extrange how Mariejoa and Gyiojin island are relatively so close to each other but still in 800 years of history they never started diplomatic relationships.
-

So Fishman built Noah (Idnk that) in order to save this one Kingdom thus granting them the status of living on the seas above If they succeed such of feat.
Wouldn't a gigantic flood kill everybody who is not on Mariejois though? Didn't the 20 Kingdoms move to Mariejois after they won? It would make 0 sense for them to stay on an area where this "flood" will affect them too, right?

I don't know….may be because the people in Mariejois doesn't give a shit about anyone else but themselves.

No, it makes sense to sink only one kingdom as Ling Long Land sinks and raises and Water 7 has aqua laguna.
You said it yourself, the gyiojins don't need Noah as they would naturally survive under the water and Noah can't save the entire world population which means it would only save some certain people, also we don't know who built Noah, that was part of the theory.
-
I just figured that Noah was the ship that would take the Fishmen all out of Fishman Island and up to the surface to live with people. The entire Fishman Island arc centered around humans and fishmen and the attempts to unite the two species under the same sky. A massive ship half the size of the island itself would be a good way to move the entire population all at once. Being pulled by Sea Kings helps ensure that the ship isn't messed with along the way. I dunno, maybe there's stuff I'm missing that would make that idea completely unlikely.
-
No, it makes sense to sink only one kingdom as Ling Long Land sinks and raises and Water 7 has aqua laguna.
How can you sink only one Kingdom with a Gigantic flood such as the one described in the theory that we're discussing? Also wouldn't sinking this Kingdom also affect small island near by and the whole One Piece world in general due to the magnituted of such of power….

I said it because it doesn't make sense to have such flood in the first place, Noah is suppose to be used by Poseidon and the sea kings for an unknown mission that apparently hasn't been resolved yet, so unless Oda plans on sinking the whole One Piece world "once again" this theory will not make any sense.
Is like that one theory saying that the Red Line has to be destroyed in order to unify the seas into a single sea.
And take what the person above me said as my thought on this matter too.

What if the ancient weapons weren't originaly weapons at all? That were tools that brought the ancient kingdom to power, and the WG's fear labeled them weapons, and that's part of the conflict?
-
What if the ancient weapons weren't originaly weapons at all? That were tools that brought the ancient kingdom to power, and the WG's fear labeled them weapons, and that's part of the conflict?
I've had a similar thought. The weapons that can "destroy the world" aren't really dangerous weapons of mass destruction. It's more that they're something that will reveal what horrible things the World Government did during the Blank Century when they rose to power. The World Government doesn't want anybody to learn of these "weapons" because it would remove them from power, likely leading to an era of true peace. The weapons wouldn't destroy the world in a literal sense. Simply destroy the World Government by making them completely useless.
-
Or you know, also be missused and actualy destroy the world, only the way that 15 godzillas per island can.
-

You're actually hitting other nice points and don't realize, probably that's the reason of why they instist so much on erasing that time, because they fucked up and killed a lot of people from the other islands near that Kingdom even though they weren't even against the 20 kingdoms, a massive execution of inocents definitely needs to be covered up, as for why Noah was only especifically for them, well D's are conformed by different species/types/races as we have a Jaguar as a D, whatever the people that kingdom was inhabitated by, it was some people that totally needed to be saved at all costs.

Well, I think my memory is faling me but I don't actually remember anyone saying that they wanted Noah to get to the surface, that was probably an assumption we all made, as I was actually convinced that was Noah for and had to check FanboyPedia, but no, it only says that it's actual mission is still unknown.
