Calling it now. Law and Cora are goin to form the master grand papa of all plans after the call from Doffy with Doffy saying they have a fruit that will save Laws life. Shockingly Law will show up alone and tell Doffy he killed Cora which Buffalo opens his big mouth up and tells Doffy of the previous attacks. Doffy being Doffy doesn't believe Law and has Virgo beat the truth out of him but Law has had a silence put on him by Cora making it so Law can't tell the truth even if he tried. Law manages to steal the fruit which gets stuck to Virgos face at some point in the fight and eats it allowing him to barely escape using a Room. Using the fruit Law heals himself and then back to the present time Dofla is laughing madly then all of a sudden his laugh sounds go silent but he looks to still be laughing. Cora is there and very much alive and he is a revolutionary and showed up with Sabo and the gang. Please be alive Cora pleeeeease!

From Aohige summary:
Corazon returns to Doflamingo, expecting doom… but Doflamingo, seemingly unaware, tells him Otsuru has found them, they need to sail out now!
Otsuru? You mean Tsuru? I didn't see her name anywhere in the Chapter. Can you expain?
-
Rocinante is an undercover Marine informant you morons.
-
If you can't tell I just want Cora to be alive and am trying to figure out how he can survive this cluster. He doesn't deserve to die damnit!

Japanese characters can't do their moves if they can't say the name of it:ninja:
String string((silence)), shit can't complete my move if I don't say the name of it. Imma let you alive for now brother.
-
The Pieces are falling into place so beautifully. I never would have guessed Rocinante was working for Sengoku; it is almost a guarantee that is the reason DD will kill him.
Well, with the info revealed on the 'Will of D.', I can't wait for the shit that Luffy will bring down on the Celestial Dragons someday. -
that could just mean commander within donquixote's crew. or he could be an "honorable" non-active commander for providing key information. him being a marine is not stated, his picture on the marine coverspread could still be construed as him being only a marine in recognition. we'll see for sure though and i will concede to being wrong here!
So him being revealed as a Marine reporting to an Admiral doesn't mean anything, I guess the Marines color spread doesn't mean anything to you either or the fact that he's wearing his marine uniform
-
I've already posted this but I get the feeling that Corazon is a double agent. Like he's an undercover marine but in reality that's just a cover for something else.
The way he asks Law if he hates "them" and then he clarifies that he's not one of "them", that he's not a Marine. I feel like Cora-san is being honest here….
I'm thinking possibly the Revolutionary Army..... or as someone pointed out, maybe cipher pol

i'm not being dense here, i'm just being literal. it doesn't reveal he's in the marines. his own credibility could be all he needs to be considered a "marine" by working with them. what you're saying is true, he's like, 75% most likely a marine, i just know that oda is meticulous with withholding information and only issues facts via his own need to know decision for the audience. it's a small point and it's not worth arguing any longer, i'm just pointing out, it doesn't say, i'm not getting ahead of myself. it also doesn't really change anything if he is, or isn't.
also, it's not revealed that he's a marine, as you said in your post.

What is there to see on those two pages ? (except Vivi being called BB )
EDIT : Nevermind, I just realized. Where does this pattern come from ?
Traditional Japanese mask fromTenugui cloth, the pattern is called Karakusa.
It's been in a lot of manga & anime, generally as a joke now, the western equivalent would probably how the Beagle Boys from Donald Duck dress as 'crooks'.
Happosai from Ranma 1/2 was infamous for wearing them on his panty raids. -
So
-Tenrys don't like Doula at all and also tried to kill him
-Sengoku tried to fuck up Doula back then
-current fleet admiral known for not being the nicest guy to piratesthere is no reason for Doula to not to get arrested by the end of this.
Once they get their signals back I'm totally picturing Akainu ordering Issho- arrest that sanababish!!- roger that!!
-
"I won't die!" (gets shot while being crucified) "You'll pay for this! I will survive!" (gets shot again)
What kind of human reaction is that? He literally went "demonic lord" mode there.
Uh… You can bet if I were shot and thought I were dying I'd be going 'demonic lord' mode on the bastards doing it. Seriously, especially if they'd strung me out a window and were shooting at my father and younger brother. He's a kid trying to reassert his power - the power he used to have - over a group of people who are terrifying him. He has two choices, cry and take it or shout out to the crow the anger and frustration and fear he's feeling. He probably feels like he has to show a brave face for his brother, show that at least someone still has power. (Because their father ain't doing a great job at protecting them, that's for sure.)
Honestly, it's completely believable to me that a kid who was brought up spoiled and then had everything taken away acts like this. I've seen it in real life - my cousin spoiled until he was 12, then moved in with his financially insecure father and where once a sweet kid was, only anger and frustration. Throw in volatile situations with being bullied at school since he just lost it - punched two of the bullies, bit a third and got suspended for threatening two others.
He's since grown up into a well adjusted adult, but being cornered in a helpless situation, he blew.Yeah, I'm gonna say that I can see a kid acting exactly like this in this kind of situation.

Man so much information about the D's.

Someone pointed out that Bellamy looks a bit like Rosi. What if he is Rosi without his memory in tact and that's why Doffy treats him so bad? And why Bellamy is drawn to Doffy. (Bellamy for next nakama!)
I know, very not likely. XD
I also don't want Rosi to die. :<

He says he's not a Marine because he's on leave, dammit. Did you learn nothing from the beginning of the chapter? The Rosinante never lied to his brother about not being able to speak. Dofy assumed so and Rosi went with it. He's very tricky about truth and lies. He only lies about being a clutz because it's his gag.

I'm sorry, but doflamingo is a vicious psycopathic cunt and his family are a bunch of twisted sycophants. I hope they're all wiped out
Donquixote homing was a good, kind man who recognised himself as a human and his lifestyle as horrific. Roccinate is the same, and he's trying to limit the damage his vicious brother is doing using any meand at his disposal. He's also trying to save the life of a small boy
Donquixote Doflamingo felt that the lifestyle of the celestial dragons was perfectly acceptable aling with the world government. He's enslaved people, fooled them, brutalised them and murdered them
Anyone who defends him has to have a few screws loose

He's also 8 years old and I don't think 8-year-olds quite understand these things that well - we even specifically see him not understand and be confused.

When Doula kills the mob and decapitates his father, I think your opinion of him will change.

It probably won't. He's still just a 8-year-old under massive pressure. All of the shit he does comes from a very understandable place. Love that it still doesn't excuse the terrible things he's done, though.
-
So, the official romanization is Donquijote, the Spanish spelling, but I swore we've seen a poster of Doflamingo that has Donquixote as the spelling… or was that not canon? If so, then it looks like it's Donquijote from now on.
-

Even if he didn't, end up doing those things the kid things that slavery, butchery and pretty much any other heinous act is fine if you're a celestial dragon amd your target is a "filthy human'
Lityle scumbag was lucky to be freed from being a celestial dragon, but he was too warped to understand

What if he's that tall dude in CP-0 :ninja:
Or Killer and thinks Kidd is Doula 'cause is always smiling and laughing.

We have seen it spelled as Donquixote before right here:
!
It's probably just an error on his part (an easy one to make considering X and J have a similar sound in Spanish). Most likely will be fixed in the Tankouban

i guess 'everyone is roci' is about to go wild. sabo must be proud.

No promises. But isn't that a plot hole already? Unless Sengoku has the most perfect poker face, some kind of notice would be warranted.
So it's obvious that Corazon did not told him. Then, is there a reason that you can think for that, that would sound convincing to you? I can't.
And sorry about patronizing. I'm a bitter, bitter man from dealing with fanboys.
I'm not sure how much of a plot whole it would be. Say that there´s someone by the name of Jhon that works at McDonals. Then, one night Jhon steals the vault hitting a 1´000.000 dollar jackpot and flies to Australia; surprisingly noone noticed, cause he´s the manager, genius with contacts and streetsmarts or whatever. Anyway that is not the point. Do you know how many people with the name of Jhon are there in Australia?plus if jhon decided to take a ferry and then a ship to another place, tracking him would be even more difficult. How many billions of people are there living in the One piece world?.
We have 2 bartolomeos already how many Vergos could there be around the OP world? theres a huge offscreen space out there, at least that´s how I see it. PLus it seems that Vergo "left for the important mission" before he got on the marines radar, and we still don´t have confirmation on the timing when he left. We know that he joined the marines a year before where the flashback is at the moment, but we really don´t know if he had a quiet time before he enlisted himself. Rocinante being the second corazon and a marine strongly hints at him leaving his brother side at least for a while. Moreover how would a report saying: "theres a person called Vergo who left for an important mission but I don´t have the slightest idea what it is" sound to you? not convincing really if that is all you get from it. Although I must say that I know a lot of authors that would go that way and plotwise put all the points together making it seem like a "coincidence" which more often than not seems forced. Bassically both sides are spying at each other.Whoever gets the crucial info first will make the winning move I guess.
Unrelated but on topic, I dislike Oda´s habit of making absurdly likable characters in flashbacks to kill them off afterwards. He should have left some of them for the present story. Corazon, Hiluluk, Norman, Otohime are just some I´ve got on the top of my head

I see what you are saying buddy but one huge hole in that theory is that Bellamy has the spring fruit.
-
Tsuru was actually chasing Doflamingo. Aohige figured it out from the Kanji on the marine battleship sail (Tsuru).
It's fitting that Tsuru and Doflamingo seem to have a bit of a history together, along with Sengoku.

But yeah, I'm kinda bummed we have yet to see Bellamy in this flashback. Though I'm sure he'll show up for like…one panel or something at the end.
-

could Corazon have had a family? I'm loving the pay-offs in these flashbacks but hope when it's over we get some other questions answered. What is Bellamy's deal being one of them.
-
Is it safe to assume that Corazon is not much of a fighter?
-
Is it safe to assume that Corazon is not much of a fighter?
It still seems a bit premature to assume that. I wanna see him in action, being serious.
-
Is it safe to assume that Corazon is not much of a fighter?
according to diamante he is quite capable
-
I saw some people mentioning Crane along with marines, but I wasn't sure what it was about.
-
Is it safe to assume that Corazon is not much of a fighter?
What if Doffy is just making invisible strings all the time tripping Cora oh and no its not safe to assume that because we haven't seen him fight. I'm trying to figure out if his DF can be used effectively in a fight but as far as physical strength and endurance he chucked law like a softball, got stabbed in the heart and took it like a champ, and is strong enough to be a Corazon and is related to Doffy (strength seems to run in family's in OP.

To me Bellamy is a kid that stumbled upon the Doffy family but didn't have Cora there to scare him away.

Whatever it ends up being, I hope it doesn't go "he was already born this way" route. That's dumb. Because people have very different reactions to experiences like that. In Rocinantes case it was praying for his life to survive, Doflamingo's case it was the wish to survive, but in a angry, confrontational way. It's not out of nowhere or illogical in that sense, I think. Now I'm just really eager to see the next chapter already.
You think everybody is born the same and that only the environment shapes them?
Doula was eerily different from his family. Remember that Homing and Rosinante both belonged to the same environment as Doula, but still turned into decent people.
-
I was serious man, I had the feeling that I've seen that person or attire before and now I know from where.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
@Cannon I know a guy who kill his mother when he was born, do that still count?
i was just asking because it came instantly to my mind that cobra was walking around like that

Someone told me it's absent in both translations.
It was mentioned by Doflamingo, that Otsuru (Tsuru. O is old honorific) from the Marine HQ showed up, as he gets ready to sail.
Then the marine ship is shown with huge ass Tsuru written on the sail.So I guess they missed both an actual line and a clear clue.

"We're getting ready to sail! It's Otsuru from the HQ again!"An entire speech bubble was overlooked by both groups, it seems.

You say like they were together all the time. Dofla could've spent more time with the other CDs then Roci did. That alone can chance everything.
-
You say like they were together all the time. Dofla could've spent more time with the other CDs then Roci did. That alone can chance everything.
Well, who did Homing spend time with that made him the way he is?
-
I would just like to point out that Doffy does have a twisted personality, as he was shown in Momo's flashback: where shoved a man's head in a barrel of wine? Anyways, he was displeased he didn't see blood. We've also seen him smile on multiple occasions, when he obviously should have been mad. Doffy fits the Nature vs. Nurture debate, right?
Regarding the "D" thing occuring in this Chapter, I can't help, but to think about Davy Jones…. Wonder why?
-
I miss Sanji how many more chapters must we wait?
-
The D clan bein the natural enemies of God makes me think of D as in Devil. The devil is the natural enemy to god and oh what do we have here? Devil fruits…curiouser and curiouser.
-

In this context, I think the celestial dragons familys are the "Gods" and the D clan disobeys their rule. Then again the devil thing explains how the one with D is feared.
-
Well, who did Homing spend time with that made him the way he is?
His family??? How am I suposed to know?

http://www.mangapanda.com/one-piece/764/2 "Le pavé de l'ours" on Franky's shirt : it's an old french saying which refers to causing harm to someone when trying to help them. It comes from an old legend about a bear (ours) throwing a cobblestone at a man to help him get rid of an insect or something similar
There is also "Jeter un pavé dans la mare", which literaly means "to throw a cobblestone in the pool/pond" and can translate to "putting a cat among the pigeons", and it seems that the Strawhats are playing in a pool.
Seriously, Oda… :wub:Hmmm... D's called "God's natural enemy ?" Does it stand for Devil ? Is it related to DFs ?
Anyway, the hints given by Corazon seem to confirm one or two popular theories so far, it's very interesting.
This chapter also confirms Law x Baby 5, it seemsThe D clan bein the natural enemies of God makes me think of D as in Devil. The devil is the natural enemy to god and oh what do we have here? Devil fruits…curiouser and curiouser.
That got me thinking of a scene where someone (Hancock?) got their devil fruit from the Celestial Dragons. I thought it was just them being asses but with the possible D relationship with devil fruits maybe its a hint that a CD with a devil fruit power is taboo.
-
I can't be the only one feeling this whole flashback chapters have been absolutely the best chapters in this entire arc.
Agreed. Law and Doflamingo's flashback is as good as any thus far. This chapter had so much of what makes One Piece great. Characters continue to surprise and enchant us, and the overall story of this world and how the straw hats led by the "Will of D.", continue to shape their fate as the world's saviors, ever deepens.
This arc is progressing so well. It may end up being one of the best yet. Can't wait to see what Oda has in store for this arcs climax.
