Folks, how would you feel if, when Jump makes this switch, AP makes a push to try and start enforcing "same day as japan" release schedules and better support the official release?

We've discussed this before, on staff and in public, and the logistics have always been a nightmare. The english release was weeks behind the japanese originally, and then when it caught up there was the fact that you have to pay to get it, and lots of our readers are around the world and don't have access to it.

We still can't do anything about the worldwide readers part, but if it's going legit and free there's no reason for us to not try now at least. The bootleg editions will still beat it by a day or two, and that's where the worldwide readers will probably still have to go, but I think the difference between Friday morning and Sunday evening really isn't that huge. If we as a community embraced the change, and as a whole stopped supporting the bootleg scanlation sites while also pushing up Jump's numbers to show them that yes, there is interest in this and that is the way to go, that would only be a positive thing.

Spoiler stuff could still stay in the spoiler section, and anyone that wants to go hunt down the bootlegs can…. but this is probably the best chance we'll ever have to push and endorse the official release and encourage the transition, and add at least a pretense of credibility to everything we do.

Would you guys be up for it if we really tried to make a push and enforce the idea? Or is this just a pipe dream and everyone is going to read the bootleg to get it 30 hours sooner anyway? Would all the traffic just die and go to a different site entirely if we enforced this?

I think you're just being lazy and worrying about your weekend traffick. This site has no reason to have spoiler threads for anything. No spoiler section, no spoiler threads. This is an english translation and english speaking forum, why would you still want bootlegggers, spoilers, and that kind of traffic and element on here, there's not one excuse, you're just being lazy. You could easily have stopped it forever ago by not allowing any scanlations or spoilers but you want the traffic, and even with the cheapeat conceivable simulpub, are still waffling

Also move this thread or keep it to one piece specifically, because this is a op forum, everyone weighing the merits of this by tslking aboit every series besides op is also waffling and making excuses, and you should move this thread oit of the manga and into general discussion, because you're plainly trying to find excuses to not support the most accessible possible publication of new op and it's entire archive

I think it has the same flaw as smiles but severely reduced, it's hard to control. Momo can't change his forms even though even child chopper could swap between the forms fine. DF's are never really shown to be hard to use the base form as far as i remember.

Chopper could not swap well, he had to develop drugs to jump start his form changes (which actually could contribute to vegapunk's smile research but i digress), but don't forget, chopper is already a human, so really he is accessing parts of his nature and actual mophology in exaggerated, willed ways, which has sonwthing to do with his human fruit. I really dont understand it.
Anyway he is a child, not a fighter, and had a lot of trouble. He had to train for two years just to get where he is now. Luffy trained his entire life. Brooke had decades, as did robin.

Well, by the logic blocks Oda has laid down, it would have to be yes because we have both a snow, and ice fruit users. If there is some stipulation inside that, I don't really care or want to try to elaborate because there's no point.

When's the last time zoro took a hit, or a cut even? Pre timeskip?

Luffy's awakening, or his intangible pre-awakening will be all about reflexes and make him an even more instinctive fighter. This could be happening now as he is stretching his mind and yearning with his own intellect if he himself could do what katakuri is somehow doing.
Similar fruits. Katakuri is awakened. How does his fruit possibly aid his ability to see into the future (if at all, of course)?
My notion is Luffy's pre awakening will be the ability to precog, as we've seen him do with mihawk prior to haki training, not only actions but intent or impulses in his radius. The impulses and intents that precede an action will impress and be felt upon his reflexive intangible "rubber" aura or presence in a state of heightened awareness like a fight.
He'll be given more of a similar edge to katakuri. He'll be able to sense the evil eye, the predation sense, the killing intent ala zoro, beyond the spatial awareness of observation haki.
Does that make sense?
This edge will give him insane control and natural ability to adapt and dodge. Blackbeard of course will entirely debuff this advantage.
As for his actual awakening, it might be something like, using waves of rubberized air or atmosphere as an extension to a punch. Or a gatling from both sides where whatever space in his atmosphere luffy strikes into the radius, the same force is pushed back from the edge on the opposite side. Fireworks would actually be a monster attack again. Or of course he punches someone into bedrock repeatedly but they can't breakthrough it, but feel it, and are continually bounced back at Luffy

Bounty is an accountable threat calculated by whoever in the marines (strawberry, possibly others) and/or any input from the WG.
Blackbeard had zero because he was a nobody with no renown or name on wb's ship. All he did was turn in Ace, there's no proof blackbeard destroyed that town he and ace clashed at as far as the marines go.
Bounty can be perceived threat but there's no way to account for that until it's part of their modus operandi

Wayfinding doesn't really help when the conditions of the sea itself work against that kind of navigation.

i get that the grand line and new world especially, are an insane sea that makes no sense in terms of the actual act of moving, but it still makes no sense to lose entirely the direction of EAST (which is all you really need, until the very, very end where it needs to be exact) because you have the sun shining all day (if it's not storming, and before it starts, you can still devise instruments that can point in that direction independent of the orientation of the ship (especially someone like franky, or even usopp), and the constellations or moon even, during night, conditions considered.

now, with the red road poneglyph, we have another anomolous variable that says navigation by stars is especially not possible. it still seems bizarre that we don't see night scenes on the ocean, or that navigation by these cosmic constants aren't possible at all just because the way the sea churns and wind blows. that would never actually be a factor if navigation by solar or celestial bodies were not possible at all. and they for some reason, are not, hence the existence of log poses at all.

it's just a really weird obstacle that's not accounted for in the plot. i'm not arguing with it, just bringing it up.

we see ohara with a very complex 3d astrolabe, of, presumably, the one piece world, which has five of it's own satellites, and one of those satellites with a smaller satellite of it's own. this sacred island of knowldedge's astrolabe, given it's massive plot potential implications, could very well be hard cannon, but we don't know yet, and may never. but if it is, it could say a lot about the grand line and the reason astronavigation is not a possibility at all on it. just seems bizarre, and probably not really worth diving into any more than this post, but it's still something that bothers me only a tiny bit if i want to think about it.

of course i'm kind of a purist, if anyone remembers, and it doesn't bother or change my love of the story at all.
