Such an awesome chapter. Possibly my favourite Usopp moment so far!
Chapter 758: Ignore it and move on
-
-
I pray that Ussop puppet thing will become a meme someday.
Funny thing is that when I saw that flying head, I remembered the flying heads of several games, esp. the 'medusas' of Castlevania. I want to see a animated version of that flying head!
In case some you guys forgot, Ussop having CoO was foreshadowed in the Reunion arc.
Hmmm where is that? I've forgotten, can you give a link please?
@Elektrik:
reading this chapter made me realize, how in the world does Usopp change clothes mid speech while fighting Trebol in chapter 741…. :ninja:
Hehe, I just answered this in another thread. Those clothes he was wearing before were created by Kinemon using his powers to create a disguise. All it took was for Usopp to remove those clothes and the ones he wore before would reappear

That shot reminded me of Angry Birds.

I wanna know too.

Hmm actually now I'd have to give more props to Usopp than I originally thought - besides the fact that he forgot any motivations/confidence (but again not forgetting the result - ergo his platanus attack) of character development he had involving Robin, he actually started changing when the Tontatta's said they believed in him.
See, this is when they disguised themselves (I assume putting it over their regular clothes).
[hide][/hide]The last 2 pages in the disguise (as you can see his goggles are hanging on his neck).
[hide][/hide]Then back to his regular outfit.
[hide][/hide]But yeah I don't find this confusing.. should I?
@Cyan:
Don't stand behind Usopp?

I'm still waiting for the long full fangirl mode, so please can you write something awesome. Thanks in Advance

Why didn't Law warn Luffy about Sugar and why didn't Luffy just knock her out with Conquering King's Haki? I know that was to give Usopp his moment, but it seemed so odd.

LOL oh my, I forgot that he wore a disguise over his other disguise! XD So I have to discredit myself now… for he's still in the disguise Kinemon gave him

LOL OH I will… I'm just super tiered rith now and fighting the sleep crust in my eyes to stay awake...
So later tonight or learly tomarrow..... and I wanna color some pages!! Been awhile since I had a good Usopp panel to color.... -
did people actually forgot doflamingo has string bullets maybe thats why law said damn doffy used me some lead bullets not that string ones…
-
Well, both Cavendish and Bartolomeo are too strong for regular officers, going by how the latter easily took down a VA and had no trouble againt Dellinger (as well as doing a reasonable job at protecting Rebecca from Diamante when asked).
After Robin's speech about not letting Gladius proceed, it doesn't seem like she will leave the fight.
Yes, but if Sugar is disabled again, that means Headcrakers will return to normal. Those 3 are not needed against Gladius.

Don't worry it happens..
Anyways… sooooo anyone have any (metal) theories about Law's history with lead (metal)?

More importantly how come Law didn't know about Sugar unless Sugar got her Devil Fruit after Law left which is completely possible

If this was the first arc in One Piece, could anyone honestly say they'd keep reading? Love the manga, been reading it for six years, but this is getting terrible.
Six years eh? So you started around Amazon Lily. So no, as a fan you had the guts to follow the 3 only Luffy and some random other stars in adventures during the great war. I bet you didn't liked reading fishman arc and PH arc too right? They was't to good for you right? Mate i know that following a single arc without big shiny moments like the war of summing had, can be harsh for you but take it easy. Dressrossa isn't a bad arc so far IMHO. If you believe it is, why so? And what is your favourite arc?
-
Now I just feel sorry for Sugar.

I don't think Law is aware of who Sugar is and I don't think CoC can knock Sugar out. She's not a fodder.
-
Why would Law know about Sugar? He was gone for over 10 years and Doflamingo "conquered" Dressrosa 10 years ago. Doffy could have recruited her for exactly that purpose, to build his house of cards with the perfect ability.
Also Law targeting the Smile factory would make little sense if he would have been aware of Doflamingo's true weakspot. Kaido being after his head is nice, but ruining his existence is defintely the better (and probably easier) option.

There was litteraly no reason for the majority off this chapter to exist. Just a completely waste of time that could have been used differently. On the one hand, it pleases me that Luffy finally reached Doflamingo, but their fight could have happened 20-30 chapters ago without any change to the final score whatsoever. My count on the estimated remaining chapters might be too high now, but this arc is still dragged on for no reason at all.

Law doesn't know who Sugar is. Very simple.

Congratulations, you missed the whole point of the chapter (and heck, One Piece in general).
Keep focusing on the destination instead of the journey.

So you don't think character development is important, or what…?
-
Only got the chance to read the chapter now and, omg!!!
I would prefer to see Usopp doing this without Haki (and just have him getting Haki later), but this was so amazing!!! That shit was the shit!
Gotta love the spoiler providers that managed to avoid the most exciting thing in the chapter and make it still be a surprise even after reading the spoilers.

Usopp only saw the aura once he was about to shoot.
-
since sugar is knocked out does that mean cavendish is done fighting on the 3rd level?
-
Usopp only saw the aura once he was about to shoot.
Still. What I mean is that we saw so little of his new abilities (that can be said to any of the SH) that would prefer to see more of what he developed during the timeskip before him getting a new powerup.
But that's a minor thing… and as you say, maybe it will still take time until he can properly use it - and having it be introduced slowly is better than he suddenly getting this new power out of nowhere in the future. -
About Chopper: He ate the Hito Hito no Mi, or the Human Human fruit, so him being an animal is kinda irrelevant because his fruit makes up for it.
I really hope he gets Haki because Monster Point is pretty underwhelming. Each of his forms, excluding his base form, could have limited haki, with monster point being the only form able to use COC.

I thought "Ignore it and move on" was referencing this thread at first XD

In addition to what others have said about Law, I don't think Luffy knows what Sugar looks like so she probably just seemed like a lost girl. Luffy didn't look threatened at all and she was putting on a cutesy act.

Although the scene with Usopp and his demonstration of the science of sniping and his haki unlocking was awesome, I'm still kind of confused at what went down from when the usopp bullet went through the window and made it to Sugar. Now, was the black spherical thing Sugar was holding the bullet which exploded, or did the bullet just go past her and hit the wall? If someone could explain this to me, that would be a real help.

She was pretending to be an innocent child (in order to easily turn them into toys). The thing in her hand is a grape, probably offering it to Law and Luffy as an excuse to get close.

He shot a three-phased bullet. The first part was a "gunpowder star" on the back, it exploded propeling the bullet up. The second part, the translation is confusing, but it was something that also exploded sending the content, the true bullet, ahead.
The "true bullet" in this case was a small Usopp drawn by Senjuro. It passed through Sugar without touching her and once it hit the wall it entered it becoming a drawning again.
-
I don't care about Law and the Lead bullets. Usopp is awesome this chapter , He took out Sugar and he shined brightly with his actions. He now has observation Haki. I'm so proud of him. He's one of my favorite characters in OP. There is like the biggest grin on my face because of how awesome it is . That was so incredible. I love it when characters get development .
I still find it amazing that these character can still grow in different ways . This chapter was awesome in my opinion! -

You think Law would at least find a "lost little girl" in Doula Mongo's palace to be a bit suspect.
But if he thinks that's normal, then we get a whole new set of unfortunate implications.
-

I totally agree, let's skip to the last chapter and get this over with.
Pssh, all this back story and development is no fun, I want to see Luffy become Pirate King.
You think Law would at least find a "lost little girl" in Doula Mongo's palace to be a bit suspect.
But if he thinks that's normal, then we get a whole new set of unfortunate implications.
So you would've knocked a little girl out captain Hindsight ? That would be the 'normal' thing to do ?
-
Great Chapter for Usopp, great development. Loved Viola's reaction, she's actually trembling in awe of Usopp's ability.
-
You think Law would at least find a "lost little girl" in Doula Mongo's palace to be a bit suspect.
But if he thinks that's normal, then we get a whole new set of unfortunate implications.
Besides the obvious unfortunate implication, there is a possible one that the Dolflamingo family accepts children as members that are potentially powerful and can be groomed to obey Dolflalmingo's orders without questioning the morals of the actions and seeing the man as a older brother and see the members as family I think that's creepy.
-

Ahaha. But to be fair, the whole situation is a little ridiculous (even for One Piece standards!). The citizens are all over the place since Pica and Fujitora started reshaping the whole island. A little girl in the palace? Suspicious, but what isn't?
Talking about citizens, could someone tell me why the angry mob subdued everyone on Usopp's side except for Violet? They even back down after Violet hugs Usopp…? Why?
-
Hey, I just realized something: Is Sugar immune to her memory wiping powers or does she forget right after she turns them into toys (not that she'd have a reason to remember them in the first place, but still)?
-
So you would've knocked a little girl out captain Hindsight ? That would be the 'normal' thing to do ?
The normal thing to do would be what we all learn as children: "don't accept gifts from strangers".
Especially if those strangers are out-of-place, like a little girl in the home of a crazy, black market-dealing pirate.
-

I'm gonna guess she remembers them as she has referred to making slave toys. After all, she does give the orders after the person is transformed, shown with Cavendish and then the Headcrackers most recently
-

Yeah, but how can she remember thousands of people individually like that? Does she like write down their names and then hands them to people so they can keep tabs on whomever? I know I'm getting into Clerks levels of nitpicking here, but I'm genuinely curious.
-
So, yeah, best chapter in a while, and we've been getting good ones lately. Now redeem Becky and we're gold.
-

I think that She would be able to recall the people who pissed of Dolflamingo or her and important high ranking people, but that's just me. I don't think she would care if she remembers the average Joe or not. To her, you'll be just one more toy in her collection if you're not important to be remember by her
-
So on a scale of one to Usopp how awesome would a two-on-two fight in the palace courtyard be? I'm thinking Law struggles and goes down with Trebol about to finish him until Cavendish swoops in with a big I DON'T THINK SO BITCH block. Cabbage takes Trebol leaving Doula Mongo for Luffy. Law watches them clash, cue flashback, and snaps out of it just in time for a rubber fist to wipe that smug grin of Mongo's face. Or Oda could come up with something even better and knock our collective socks off.
Man this chapter was too sweet. It's got me all fired up.
-
Cabbage(Hakuba) might really be the one to finish off Doflamingo after Luffy beats him.
He tries to cut off peoples heads since beggining of this arc- in a joke matter sure - but Hakuba on other hand was shown to even kill woman in the past and I think that Cabbage is pretty ruthless person
and at same time I expect he might play a really big part in ending of this arc as Oda stalled him with those toy soldiers.
Or he will take over fight with Trebol when Law will be loosing as I expect(but to be honest he has no obligation to save Law beside common enemy for both of them) - pretty bad for Law but he had win
with Smoker and Vergo so now loosing to Doflamingo and Trebol(while Law is pretty heavily damaged) would balance things out in a way.Being back to Doflamingo vs Luffy - Luffy doesnt kill enemies but to beat Doflamingo you need to either kill him, heavily handicap him or turn him into a Toy.
So who knows how Oda will use Cabbage. With Ussop shining so much in this weeks chapter I expect great moment for every single Strawhat - Curly pirates are set to do awesome things to big moms ship.
Oh and I expect Fujitoras reason not to go after Doflamingo as Doflamingo is probably working with World Goverment to take out one of Yonko - from inside of his/ hers crew.
As I said quite a number of times Whitebeard was in my opinion poisoned by Doflamingo. Whitebeards meds had symbol of Corazon on them
So probably Corazon was some world know doctor beside being part of Doflamingos crew. If Doflamingo killed him - he took over his medical business that I assume he had - so he could easily slowly poison Whitebeard - using medicines.
It would explain why everybody in world were so suprised over Marines taking on Whitebeard, maybe Marines worked with Doflamingo to weaken Whitebeard and then take him out using fact that BB brought them Ace. Perfect plan. -
I never expected that Usopp of all person will developed Coo. Even without the haki development, Usopp's feat of sniping is simply legendary.I think this is the first time Oda put that much details into how Usopp's sniping works? This fully make up for his lackluster performance earlier. Now, if only Oda would redeem Rebecca in such a manner, I'll truly be a happy fan.
If Bart was there, he will die of happiness. -

He really needed the power-up to become a match for Auger's insane sniping ability.
-
Don't forget Corazón's ghost, do not forget it 'cause that's gonna be Law's oponent.
-
I'm genuinely surprised at the minority of people who didn't like the chapter.
How can you be a One Piece fan and not like this chapter. :wassat: -
Don't forget Corazón's ghost, do not forget it 'cause that's gonna be Law's oponent.
I'm expecting Corazòn Zombie myself.
Puppet Corazòn and Shadow Corazòn are also possible. Maybe even Mecha Corazòn.
-
I'm genuinely surprised at the minority of people who didn't like the chapter.
How can you be a One Piece fan and not like this chapter. :wassat:I expect wall of text from Darth is incomming
To be honest as long as I read One Piece that chapter was one of those that really made me feel thrilled, it happened very very few times since time skip
so it was pretty great for Oda to show how great Ussop can support others with his skill. This chapter also made Snipers like Ussop on Van Augur real threats if they can shoot somebody from such distances.. Ussop in on his way to catch up to Van Augur skills
as I expect BB Sniper to be one of best if not best marksman in One Piece world. Luffy will become strongest pirate in world, Zoro best Swordsman and Ussop most dangerous Marksman.
Already sounds cool. -
What is great is not Usopp's skill shot per se, but the motivation behind it.
