Yeah me too, taking tomorrow off no school, no work, no GirlFriend just me and One piece re-reading the chapter 100 times over.
It is my birthday also! Best birthday everr

I think the out of universe explanation for the hand gestures would be as a visual indication to make it clearer to readers what is happening so the swapping around is easier to follow… as well as to look cool and give the character a signature move. For the in-universe reason for some reason I always thought of it as a technique he uses to focus his concentration since his DF seems like it would be a hard one to master. That's just a headcanon though.
Hey, there does exists a small chance that he might keep up the high form he displays in this flashback, which has been great thus far, even if it is hopelessly manipulative to make me feel sad at Corazon dying.
Now, do I believe for a second that it is going to stick? Nope. I hope it does, but I don't believe it. Which is a shame, because I like when One Piece chapters are good.
So why is it hopelessly manipulative? Isn't the ability to "manipulate" the audience's emotions a key part of good storytelling? Just curious what you mean really.
Oh, so it's Mikasa that Robin's supposed to be dressed as? Cool. I couldn't tell who she was in the first sketch you posted. :P
Consider yourself followed (even though I rarely use my account these days)!
Haha sweet! Actually I'm surprised you can even tell now since I barely drew anything for her, it just goes to show how iconic that scarf of Mikasa's is!
I thought Robin would make a good Mikasa since she would probably be into the dark/gory side of SNK…. also as part of her costume she can sprout a giant "titan" hand coming to grab her - which I REALLY want to try drawing in the pic, but I suck so bad at drawing hands. Maybe I can claim it's meant to be deformed since it's a titan... -___-
Well, since I can't reply on here without posting a pic, here's an unrelated hobbit WIP I'm working on for a commissioner today
!
Thanks guys! Seriously it means a lot to get comments like that, reminds me why I draw haha.
I should probably be a bit more considerate and put the images under spoiler tags huh… then again I guess if you're in the art forum you are browsing at your own risk!! I'll try remember though
Anyhow here's a sneak peek of the Halloween picture, in case anyone's interested in the process of getting a drawing done. I always get impatient and map out colours before I finish doing the lineart since I love colour so much. I never draw group pictures so I think this is gonna take a while!
!
Also if anyone's interested, I recently managed to break into an ancient tumblr account of mine. It's pretty empty there thus far, but I'm hoping to keep reasonably active with sketch uploads and whatnot. Can't promise how much OP content will be on there, but feel free to have a nosey if you're interested in what else I like to draw: http://poires.tumblr.com/
Haha thanks Deviant_Mugen That guy is so fun to draw in dumb poses, I don't even know why!
I just started doodling today, wanted to draw something silly and fun for Halloween… This won't be done in time obviously haha but hopefully within the next week or so I might be able to upload a coloured version. Here's a WIP in the meantime!
Some original characters! The guy on the left is unnamed and I haven't figured out his colour scheme yet… other than that he has light hair... but the other two are Nichol and Avery :>
This is so sketchy ah ha ha but at least it proves I am alive right
I just came across this while doing unrelated investigation into Norse mythology: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dellingr I had thought Dellinger was a weird name, I wonder if there is any connection.
has it been discussed in any topic why the material and disease are called AMBER lead, considering amber is yellow?
there several white minerals that could´ve used just the same, like calcite, quartz, limestone, marble, even other materials such as pearl or ivory. The list is honestly neverending
Yeah someone posted this link before: http://mangastream.com/blog/57
It's one of those things that works well in Japanese but not so well when translated.
They're hard to compare… Robin's was so tragic because she had lived her life as a lonely outcast, her mother returning and meeting Saul gave her a brief moment of hope, then they were both taken away from her along with her entire home country. It's sort of a different impact than with Law, who presumably had a normal and happy upbringing until the point where everything went horribly wrong.
I can't really say "this one is sadder" because they're both horrible but from a storytelling perspective Robin's backstory is more poignant to me for that reason.
